I passed up on the CE version and opted to wait until this version came out and I am glad I did. Reason being is that I I feel have outgrown the basic HOPA games that still feature outdated graphics, alot of back tracking and a story that has been used over and over again. Mystery Heritage is just that; a good but not great HOPA that we have been seeing over and over. The story is old as time, A death, a Family curse, a mysterious suicide and a detective out to find the truth. Game features three modes of gameplay which you can change during play. There are voice-overs and music that is on a loop. The graphics are crisp and visuals look like hand drawn art-work that at times look dated. There are voice-overs that are decent but no sound effects. Visually the entire game looked slightly old and the gameplay was rudimentary, your basic seek, find and use. HO scenes had no interaction and there was no map so expect alot of back-tracking. The mini- games are uniquely designed and some fun. There are no bells and whistle to this game so basially you have a spook story and a good HOPA that is really your basic Standard Edition Game that sadly lacks a challenging gaming experience. In my opinion it totally missed the mark as a CE but today, Hard-core players will be slightly bored but new-commers will definitly enjoy.
I recommend this game!

I use to love these types of adventure games and it has been a while since we had one from these developers. Albeit, everything about this game may look dated to some but it has an appeal on its own. I love the 3D like graphics and animations which reminds me of some of the older Adventure games I use to play. I remember these developers and they do have flare when it comes to storylines. Based on the demo trial, I enjoyed the game play as well as the storyline. This time our adventure takes us to the beautiful city of Prague where our Heroine has inherited a house and embarks on an adventure that will reveal the mystery surrounding the truth about her family. You have options for cursor, scroll screen, wide screen and there are 2 modes of game play. There are voice-overs and game features include a journal, task list, interactive map where you can jump to places as well as follow progress and a hint system that only shows you sparkles. Game play is mostly adventure with HO scenes and some puzzles thrown in. The HO scenes are interactive and offer something extra; sometimes you need to leave the scene to find one paticular item on the list. This game does have merits and is challenging as you need to use your brain cells in order to figure out where to go and what to do; especially in the advance mode. I expect hard core adventure players will have a blast with this one. Once again, the game looks dated, there are some samll glitches in the game play and some of the instructions (due to language) are vague. However I really enjoyed my hour of game-play and look forward to continuing on. The story I found intriguing and I really do love getting lost in Proague.
I recommend this game!

A grusome series of Murders becomes a cat and mouse game between our dangerous Killer and our heroine, Angelica Weaver, who finds herself travelling through time in order to solve this mystery. I loved the opening cut scene, the graphics were incredibly sharp and it was a great intro into the game. There are three game modes to choose from and suprisingly enough, the hint button refills very slowly in all of them. There is also a choice for cursor and I chose the non annimated one as I found the annimated cursor rather irritating everytime it turned into a rather large wrench. There are voice-overs and so far I only heard Angelica who unfortunately talks continuously throughout the game, giving you hints as what to do or where to go. The one major complaint I do have is the way Angelica stands on the right side of the sceen, continously nodding her approval with every mood you make. Rather distracting and annoying. There is a journal as well as a list of goals and an inventory list. There is no map but there are arrows pointing the way and your screen does slide. You need to collect dreamcatchers along the way for extra hints as well as detective badges in order to unlock the unlimited HO scenes at the end. There are also achievements to recieve as well. Game play is mostly adventure, with some interactive HO scenes and very few mini-games to play. During the demo, I came across only two and actually, the second one with the shoe prints was rather fun to play. The SG does follow your progree and the hint will give you the info as to where to go and what to do. With all these features, I really shold be jumping up and down but for some reason, the game did not totally grab me. I blame the story line which was a bit disorientate; it starts off vague and continues with abstract information on the killer and his victims. It just did not grab me and I really had a hard time getting immersed into the game. The other really annoying thing was the music or rather Sound you heard everytime you came across a clue or a point of interest, that little note started getting on my nerves after a while. Over all I loved the visuals and graphics, amazingly life-like and clear, I enjoyed the game play as I delved deeper into it but like I said, I found the V/O and the icons too annoying. I imagine that hard-core adventure players will enjoy playing advance mode and with all the game features involved, I imagine the game warrents some merits. I myself will pass up on the CE version. It has all the features of almost being a great game but unfortunately misses the mark due to the absence of the WOW factor that we all expect from a CE.
I recommend this game!

So much has been written about this game that I find it difficult to believe there are some who have not heard about Siberia. Most of us own the original that came out several years ago and it is interesting to see that BFG has come up with the idea of re-issuing this game in sgments. For those who have not delved into the world of large file adventure games, Siberia may prove to be daunting at first. It is a slow and difficult game to play but rest assure, if ever you want to experience the enchanting and thoughtful story behind Siberia, do not dismiss this game. If there ever was a story that completely enthralled me, a story with characters that still have a special place in my heart, even after so many years, this is the one to try. For beginners, may IO recommend that you take adventage of the many forums, walkthroughs and strategy guides available. At first it may be a trial and error but soon enough, once you get a hang of the game mechanics, I guarantee, that you will soon find yourself completely immersed into a story that will lift up your spirits and thrill you to no end. The Siberi,a Series remains a classic amongst PC games and remains my top favorite game to date.
I recommend this game!

I had a hard time trying to decide on a word that could best describe this game; Cute comes to mind. The storyline is cute, the graphics are clear and there are some mediocre effects. There are levels to complete, scores are kept, achievments and trophies are won and there are power ups to win with every HO scene that occasionally pops up. There is also the option to play timed ore relaxed mode. The one feature that I really liked about this game was the music, very soothing and exotic. However dont be misled by all of these features, the game is still very simple, almost childlike compared to other more sophisticated M3 games that I have played. There are boards to go through and only the background seems to change. One thing I did enjoy were the odd turtle or bat that crept into your game; you have to shoot them off your board for extra points. Not the best Match3 game I have played but it does keep you going and as you do progress your way through the map, the game does get more challenging. It almost seems to be designed for a younger audience so if you are in the mood for an uncomplicated, cute little M3 game without too many bells and whistles, this is it.
I recommend this game!

Folks, today you are in luck, BFG offers you CE games at a special discount. If you passed up on this gem, then today's is your chance to get the CE version. This was a fantastic game which offered an execellent time to be had!. The opening scene was what got me and once I got out of the grave after being buried alive by some thugs, I was hooked and just could not wait to continue the journey. There is so much to do in Redemtion Cemetary and I have to say, these devlopers get better and better with each game they put out. The Graphics were stunning, beautiful artwork, live video feed of actors and great voice-overs. Game features include three play modes and depending how experienced you are, you have a choice of sparkles or no sparkles. You have a journal and a Mystical crow that will retrieve things for you, provided you find the crow runes to activate him. Unfortunately there is no map. This is an excellent HOPA with unique HO scenes that are interactive and have mini puzzles to solves within them. Inventory items also are combined to use. There are mini-games that were not overly challenging, but were some were unique and fun to play. As I said, if you passed up on the CE, then either use today's discount for the SE or better yet, definitely go for the CE. Great Game and Great time to be had.

I LOVE these developers and I simply love Adventure games so it took me exactly 3 minutes to decide to buy. At first the game looks like an HOPA, but sorry to say, for those who enjoy HO games, you will be dissapointed; there are absolutely NO HO scenes in this game. Gothic Fiction is strictly interactive adventure with puzzles. I have no idea what acronyms to use but all I can say that this game will appeal to adventure lovers like myself. The story begins with a Mother whose daughter is kidnapped by an evil Witch. ( Alas, a tale not so unfamiliar and a little too worn out.) Anyhow, our adventure starts off in an abondoned school filled with creepy plants and ghosts of children gone missing. As the tale unfolds, you discover that your enemy is one very powerful witch and there is alot to do before you can save your daughter. The Graphics are what you normally expect from these developers, crisp and sharp. Real live actors are used in some scenes and there are voice overs. I loved the art work and sound effects are good as well. Playing this game at night will no doubt provide the extra spooky atmosphere. Game features three game modes and I recommend that hard-core players go with advance. Absolutley no hand holding, making for a very good adventure. Game features a journal, a map that alos provides a list of tasks, a hint that refills quickly and also a Witches diary where you need to collect pages in order to find out her story. Once your adventure begins, you look for inventory objects, tools and also need to pick up energy balls along the way. There are 15 of them inside the paintings that you come across. There are alot of mini games to paly and puzzles to solve. Most of them easy but in my opinion, easy to play. I actually enjoyed the game and from the SG, there are 9 chapters to play along with a bonus. Game play runs smoothly, sometimes it does get a bit tedious and mechanical. Something was missing but I really could not put my finger on it; possibly the WOW factor which I just did not feel or the lack of challenging gameplay; I just found it too easy. However I will no start over and play in the advance mode which will probably provide me with a certain degree of difficulty. For this reason, I have already taken advantage of today's speacial price and bought this game and fully intend to continue my journey tonight. I do recommend it, it does offer many hours of entertaining gameplay and a chance to try soemthing new, a game with out HOS.
I recommend this game!

Occasionally I love to zone out with a good game of Match 3 or Mahjong. Although at times, Mahjong does tire the eyes after a while, there are Mahjong games out there that not only tell a story but have beautiful graphics and interesting gameplay. This paticular Mahjong game has no story line except that you are invited to particiapate in a world competition, no voice overs and no special effects. What it does have is alot of Mahjong tiles, boards and boards to play. You have a number of trophies to win and each board has certain achievemnts to reach in order to get three stars. Think Fairway card game without all the bells and whistles. The graphics are sharp, tiles easily distinguishable and there is the soft music in the background. After a couple of boards, I was ready to nod off. However as you get through the first round (12 bords in each round), gameplay gets more challenging and if you are a fan of Mahong, I do think you will enjoy the many hours of games to play. SOme boards are timed while others are not. Its not a bad game but as I mentioned, no bells, no whistles, strictly Mahjong for those who just want to play Mahjong.
I recommend this game!

Well, it has been a while since we have seen an interactive FROG and I didnt realise just how much I had missed them. The story line is not unique but it is supported by good voice overs and in my opinion some very stunning life like graphics. In some of the cut scenes, artwork turns to hand drawn comic style and then changes back to some very well done artwork and visuals. Game features three game modes, a note book that also a task list and a hint system that will tell you what to do and where to go. The only thing that was missing was a map. Basically the game is an Adventure game where you will click around to pick up items that you will need along your way. You then come across some really great HO scenes that are Fragmented as well as interactive. You also get to combine objects in your inventory list. There is much to do on this adventure and you do encounter some pretty quirky characters. There are also achievments to get along the way so it does make it interesting gameplay. I loved the variety of mini-games, many that we have seen before but always fun to play. This game really will appeal to almost everyone and I for one really did find game play relatively challenging as to figure out where to go and what to use. The storyline could have been a bit more interesting but what is there not to love; Adventure, HO, Fragemented objects, puzzles, mini-games and achievments, all wrapped up in a SE package. Kudos to BFG.
I recommend this game!

I love Sci Fi and wish that more developers would use this theme so when a Sci Fi comes up, especially from one of my favorite game developers, I immediately jump. I actually bought the CE version and have to say that for those who missed out, please do not hesitate to get the SE version, it is well worth. The story is gripping and I really do not want to give it away for those who havent played it but basically it is an adventure, HO and puzzle, heavy on the adventure theme. The graphics are super, sharp and a little like a 3D look to it. I love the artwork along with sound effects and music which really added to the overall atmosphere of the game. There were two game modes and game features include voice over, a dairy, an interactive map that will transport you to locations, The HO scenes are interactive and some objects were very well camoflaged. Mini-games were easy but they do have a fun factor which is often rare in games. There were collectables but I will leave that to you to figure what they are. I loved everything about the game, it had everything that a PC game whould offer, good story, great graphics and most of all, FUN.
I recommend this game!
