I have to admit...I didn't care for this game to begin with. It came out in 2010, so there is no map or customization and the HO scenes put quite a strain on my aging peepers, but the more I played the game, the more I liked it!
This is the first in the "Fear For Sale" series about a journalist that has access to spooky places (a dream job, in my opinion). Despite the crude graphics, I found myself getting drawn into the story.
If you're like me and you can't pass on a haunted house story, just give it a try!

This game is several years older, so it doesn't have a map or the bells and whistles of the newer games, but don't let that deter you...it's an excellent game!
This story reminds me of one we used to tell around the campfire when I was a scout...about the girl that left her sweater in the car? There's much more to this particular story though, as it involves an entire town.
This game was pretty lengthy for a SE. The graphics were creepy and yet inviting (for those of us that love creepy scenes). Even without a map, it's fairly easy to get around. I played in expert mode and when I needed to find my way, I kept hitting the hint button until I was where I needed to be.
This is the first game of a very cool series...enjoy!
I recommend this game!

This game is clearly several years old and unfortunately, it doesn't quite match up to the standards of the day.
That being said...it's not a bad game. The puzzles and HO scenes were tedious and hints were limited, but I enjoyed the story line (gifted child helps ghosts and saves the day) and particularly the anagrams. The game was also pretty short.
Like a lot of people, what drew me to the game was actually the warning. Some of the content was disturbing but it's no worse than any other horror HO game.

Usually games series will improve with time, but this game, though several years old now is still, in my humble opinion, the best of the entire series!
You're just a regular gal that by way of a dead gifted relative has access to a haunted house that not only moves location but also moves through space and time! This game has everything...a couple of decapitations, burning rooms, a guy named Ned Stark (seriously). It's your job to help the souls find peace.
This game was nice and long and can easily be played in expert mode without any problems. The hints and map will help you and take you where you need to go. The mini-games were fun and simple and the HO scenes were interesting.
Seven years later, this is still one of the best games on Big Fish...don't miss out!
I recommend this game!

Word to the wise...this game is nearly a decade old, so it won't have the fancy customization and maps we have nowadays, but if you're like me and you just have to play a series from the beginning, give it a shot. You won't regret it!
The idea of making games out of Edgar Allen Poe's short stories was one of the more brilliant one's I've ever heard of...who better to spin a dark story than the master? I feel like while playing these games I'm getting some literary education, as well.
I played in expert mode and instantly regretted it (you cannot change it once you've decided) because spotting some of the things I needed to move forward was a toughie and you could only use hints in HO scenes. I only consulted the Big Fish walk-through once though, relying mainly on looming over each scene carefully until the eyeball pointer popped up. Some of the mini-games were a bit challenging but skips are available even in expert mode.
I was truly surprised by the ending...it was the last thing I expected!
I recommend this game!

Even though this game is 7 years old, I HIGHLY suggest it for lovers of truly scary hidden object games. It's like "Picture of Dorian Gray" meets "House of Wax" by way of "Silence of the Lambs". WARNING: This game is not for the faint of heart...there are well over a dozen corpses in this game and some of them you'll come on quite suddenly.
It's about a narcissistic psychopath that's kidnapped your girlfriend and forces you to go through his house of horrors in order to save her. There are hints and skips available for the mini-games (which I REALLY enjoyed) and as you move from room to room.
The only real downside is the map. You won't be able to jump around from point to point but will have to backtrack manually and this estate is REALLY huge (3 maps worth). I didn't mind because I think it adds to the tension.
I've played this game multiple times over the years and I still never tire of it. If you occasionally get stuck Big Fish has a decent walk-through. If you like happy endings then don't EVER play the bonus chapter that comes with the CE. I prefer the SE ending myself.
I recommend this game!

I've seen many games tackle the "Beauty and the Beast" type of story line, but this BY FAR is the best version yet!
A woman, while trying to save a baby, jumps through multiple portals (all the while playing fun mini-games and collecting little pieces of this and that) before she discovers who she really is.
This game has it all...drama, adventure, fun, music and beautiful, beautiful art work!
I recommend this game!

Wow...just wow!
When I saw that this game was made in 2009, I wasn't expecting a whole lot, but man oh man, did it ever exceed my expectations!
The premise revolves around saving this little girl that can create worlds by painting them. The art is a bit old school but absolutely beautiful! The mini-games were the perfect combination of fun and challenging and you have the option to skip most puzzles.
Normally I hate the lack of a map but somehow it didn't bother me with this game. The tower felt very real to me and in the real world you must navigate one room at a time. Some of the rooms were rather challenging, but if you carefully read over the hints Franklin gives you, you'll get there in the end without needing a walk-through.
I'm so glad I found this game and look forward to playing the next one!
I recommend this game!

I've played this game at least a half a dozen times in the years since it was first released and it still stands the test of time!
This was one of the first really cool HO horror games I remember playing and sharing with my children. You follow the story of a man with special powers and his wife's journey to save him. He has a really wild past with some surprises along the way!
The graphics are a bit old school but still VERY eerie even by today's standards. Some of the objects were a big tough to see, but there's always the hint button for when you need it.
There is a map, but it only shows you where you need to go, you'll have to go there manually. This game also has a diary, which I miss, because many of the newer games have given them up and for those of us with shoddy memories, the diaries always helped keep me up on what the story was about.
This is also the first game I recall seeing "beyond objects", the objects that change back and forth between two separate things. There are 36 in this game and I don't think I've once ever found them all. It's kind of tricky because some rooms change and you have to find the objects before the room changes or there's no way of going back. Some of them are also VERY tough to see. If you're desperate to get them all, Big Fish has a walk-through with illustrations.
I recommend this game!

Even though this game is 8 years old, I'm so glad I found it!
I love games where you move through mirrors and in this game you use mirrors to move from room to room in a creepy house, not only collecting what you need to get out, but helping lost souls along the way.
The graphics were a bit old school, but still very lovely. None of the puzzles were too difficult and I really enjoyed them. There's a surprise ending and now I'm really looking forward to playing the next installment of this game!
I recommend this game!
