I'm not one for screensavers, but this game has the best screensavers I've encountered since becoming a Fishie.
The screensavers are a delight-- with light, sound, and motion effects that make the scene come alive and not some static pretty picture.
There are 2 modes to play--easy/storyline and challenging/treasure mode. The easy mode has a storyline and narrative descriptions of each legendary city/site you are visiting followed by M3 board interspersed with hidden object scene (mostly fragments of larger objects). After completing all the levels for a certain legendary city, you acquire a screensaver and gem. The screensaver automatically opens up on your computer and rotates through the various sites you visited.
The challenge mode does not have narrative descriptions and is straight up M3 in timed mode. It is really challenging unless you are very good at this game, because time is SHORT.
The one difficulty I had is I installed a trial version, then bought the game, but for some reason it thinks I am trial user because game would shut me down , and I would have to open up the game and start as usual. A bit annoying, but love the screensavers so much, I don't care and would still recommend this game.
I recommend this game!

I respectfully dissent from other reviews about the artwork being "simple". The artwork is perfectly fine, and pleasing to the eye.
There is no easy or hard mode. There are 100 levels, each level with plenty of time to finish. If you finish the level before established time limit, you get bonus points. If you run past the time limit, you get zero bonus points, and no penalty for taking as long as necessary to remove all blue tiles. As a result, this game is suitable for all skill levels.
After completing a certain number of levels, you earn power ups, but each power up costs points each time it's used.
One aspect I didn't like was the power ups are too close to bottom of the board for matches, and quite often I used power ups without intending to simply because I moved the cursor over the power up area.
There are some levels where the items to match are very close in color (yellow vs light orange) and difficult to distinguish. Once you recognize this, no problem.
Interestingly, there is no reset button if you decide to start a specific level over again. Once you hit that level, you have to complete the board before moving to next level.
There is a bit of the story line at the beginning and at the very end, but there are no scenes that you move through--it's one M3 board after another, 100 total, before you can even peek at the Puzzles.
There are 10 jigsaw puzzles of different Egyptian scenes after completing 100 levels.
Overall, a straightforward M3 game with jigsaw puzzles as a bonus. More experienced players will find this game repetitive and boring, but if you just want to relax and like Egyptian artifacts, this game's for you.
I recommend this game!

OK, the story is a bit convoluted and is nothing remotely related to the well known Rapunzel fairy tale, except for the character's name.
Who cares? The artwork is so beautiful, detailed, and lavish, that it doesn't really matter. This is a real beauty to wander through.
Some of the characters' voices remind me of those puerile Japanese cartoons, but characters are beautifully drawn.
HOS are the usual Blue Tea specialty--fragments that come together to make one highly detailed, lavishly ornate object to be used in another scene; occasionally challenging.
Puzzles are easy, maybe too easy for some fishies, but this Fishy thoroughly enjoyed this game.
I highly recommend this game.

There are 66 levels to play.
No storyline, no characters, no mini puzzles/games, no adventure or actions to take.
This is straight up hidden object search. You have 66 "scenes" with hidden object items listed to find. There are 2 modes to play--timed vs relaxed. I recommend Timed for experienced players or people who like a challenge. The items to find are repetitive so beating the clock is the only objective that makes this game engaging, because it's harder than you think to get "gold". There are a few items that are missppelled, so you may have to resort to Hint button to find.
You have to download Direct X for the game to work.
No screensavers or rewards. It's a good way to pass the time going on a hidden object search.
I recommend this game!

Pros: good story, good HOS, easy puzzles/mini games
I enjoyed reading trivia about the Red Riding Hood story--how it developed, its origins, and the many riffs on the tale through the centuries
Cons:
no voiceovers--all dialogue between characters must be read.
Music is repetitive and not particularly great
Minimal movie action, except towards the end
I would have given this 4 stars, except the "ending" is not really an ending and ends without satisfactory conclusion, resulting in an incomplete story.
This is an old school HO game. You have to download Direct X for it to work. Each time you see a "wolf" imprint in the scene and click on the symbol, a pop-up bubble appears giving you trivia about Red Riding Hood the fairytale. A blinking eye symbol indicates an HOS. An arrow indicates transition to another location. A swirling arrow indicates an action can be performed with an inventory item. A jigsaw puzzle piece indicate a mini game. Very straightforward.
The HOS can be a bit challenging, but straightforward format. There is a hint button on lower right. Some hidden items are highlighted and requires clicking on the werewolf button (lower left) so you can see those items.
A good game for beginners or someone who wants a straightforward hidden object treasure hunt.
I recommend this game!

Story: Your father has been murdered and your brother has been kidnapped. You arrive at your father's mansion and unravel the mystery of your father's death and rescue your brother.
Visual/Voice: good
HOS are a combination of find among junk piles and a few objects that need interaction or combination with another object to complete the object. Easy to moderately challenging.
Puzzles: a lot of puzzles to complete, like one per scene. Easy to mildly challenging.
I played the game without use of map, so made for a very long game. But if you play without using the map, that earns you an achievement.
This game plays like a Collector edition, but at standard version price. There are achievements to earn--lots. You will not be able to earn ALL achievements because some stars conflict with others (there is a star for playing in hard mode and a star for playing in easy mode). There are photos and cards hidden throughout the game to find in addition to the standard HOS.
This is a long game to play. There are only 2 modes to choose from (regular vs expert). I played expert mode, which allows for hints and skip (just longer intervals) and active zones were indicated by sparkling stars.
The ending is not believable, but if you want a CE game for SE price, long game play, many puzzles and very good graphics, this game comes recommended.
I recommend this game!

This is a good game. It does not deserve the bad reviews. The graphics, artwork, and voiceovers are excellent. HOS are fairly easy. Mini games are easy to moderately challenging. If you are stuck, the walkthrough is there or just skip.
It's not a very long game, but all the other elements blend together well into a very enjoyable mystery game experience.
I downloaded the demo and was hooked by the story line, and the full version had surprises I did not anticipate.
2 thumbs up!

Story: it's 1930s Europe and your girlfriend is about to sail on a luxury liner headed for America to become a big star. She leaves behind her purse and you run on board the ship to give her her purse and discover her stateroom is a mess and she's a damsel in distress, and let the sleuthing begin.
Level of challenge: moderately challenging. The HOs are well done and always have at least 1-2 items that are well hidden and difficult to find. Puzzles are challenging, the kind that takes a while to figure out, and 50% of the puzzles are this level of challenging. Makes for a long game if played on Hard mode, which allows for hint and skip button, which I like.
Collectibles: 39 sign boxes to find, one in each scene, not too hard to find if you make up your mind to look for it before you go hunting for HOs. You can locate missing ones after playing main and bonus chapters, without playing game all over again.
Morphing objects: 16 to find in HO scenes.
Souvenirs: 30 souvenirs, unlocked after playing main and bonus chapters. You get 30 scenes and the silhouette or picture of item to find in that scene. I loved this part and was much chagrined there isn't more like this.
Bonus chapter: fairly short, can be played in 30 minutes for experienced gamers. Tasks are more intutitive, HOs and puzzles not as hard as in main game.
You can play match3 instead of look for HO. You can replay all the HOPs in main and bonus chapter to get a gold medal achievement.
Overall, the game is forgettable in terms of plot. The artwork is nice, but not outstanding. What I will remember about this game is how hard it was--those puzzles were a bugger to solve and the tasks were 50% not obvious or not intuitive. I don't mind one or two challenging puzzles, but this was one right after the other 3 or 4 in a row. Not a great way to unwind after a hard day of real life work.
CE or SE? For this game, I would have been content with the SE. The story just did not grab me. The extras I listed I could have lived without--they just seem standard and not outstanding, but you decide.
I recommend this game!

Story: you play a detective tasked with finding Louise Gray, daughter of the head of League of Light agents, who has stolen the Stone Gauntlet. Your journey takes you through Black Rock. The story of Black Rock and the Stone Gauntlet is skilfully told through a series of scrolls encountered along your journey. You are given the choice of playing male or female detective with respective male or female narrator voice.
Graphics: very good. This is not a grim, sinister or dark HOG--thank goodness. VOs are very good and fit the characters. There is quite a bit of animation for a cinematic feel to the story. Music is completely forgettable, but not intrusive,
Level of challenge: easy. HOS and puzzles are not hard. I didn't have to consult the walkthrough once, which is an accomplishment for me.
Gameplay: very good, very intuitive. Nice flow to the tasks and objectives to accomplish.
This is a thoroughly enjoyable game to play for HO devotees. The plot holds your interest throughout the game, and even semi-plausible for the fantasy/mythic genre. More experienced gamers might find this game too easy, but I did not find the game commonplace. The special effects, VOs, graphics, and gameplay melded well for a fun game experience.
I would recommend this game, absolutely.

Story: you play a detective on the search for Rosa Ramirez, who allegedly stole the Fire Knight's sword.
Graphics: very good, except not high resolution. The setting is 1930s Spain.
Voiceovers: TERRIBLE. There appears to be 2 actors who act the role of 5 characters, from a teenage boy to an old woman, old man, and various adults. The voices are American, but characters are Spaniards, and there is no hint of a Spanish accent, and they mispronounced "Jorge" as "George" instead of the "H" sound for "J" in Spanish. The characters lips do not move at all with VO, so it is very fake.
Music: actually pretty decent and fits the Spanish setting.
Gameplay: 70% intuitive tasks, decently long game. Ending is abrupt and anticlimactic.
Level of challenge: easy to mildly challenging, varied and clever HO and puzzles. You can opt for Mahjong instead of HO.
I would have given 4 stars to this game except the voiceovers are the worst I have encountered in a BFG game and does not fit the setting, background or ambience of the game. Other than that, all the elements of this game deserves 4 stars. A more climactic ending would have netted 5 stars.
I recommend this game!
