Available at BFG since 2017. A floating being with rather large bandaged horns and face, and pearls dangling from them, hovers over and saves a soldier. The game start was excellent and really well done. About an hour into the game, the weirdness/oppressive factor definitely ramps up a bit with caves, pipes/tubes/tentacles everywhere – a sort of sickening, vertebrae-like, yuckness.
Regular amount of HOPS for a 2017 game. The puzzles are all skippable and there are LOTS of them, especially towards the end. There are several of those interactive puzzles which require a sequence of actions to get to the next bit and so on, all featured on the same board.
Great sounds, travel map, interchangeable difficulties, helpful hint, lockable inventory.
Glad it finished when it did, couldn't take anymore!
I recommend this game!

The female character is extremely tiresome to put it lightly. The whole game reminded me of some scenario from Scooby-Doo. There is no depth to the story and I found it very difficult to stay interested in some lumbering ice monsters. However, everyone is different, so give it a go! It could be the light-hearted tonic you need! I just didn't find it funny either. Sorry. Not a scratch on Mystery of the Ancients Mud Water Creek.

2017 game. Are humans/humanoids a species of intelligent life serving another more dominant existence? Who are these beings? Where is everyone? What happened?
When a game is this good...it's almost more difficult writing a review, because nothing quite adequately matches the magnificence of the game! Hills, mountains and plateaus of rock will greet you wherever you go. Roam the country-side, homesteads and Mayan temple-like structures. Great perspectives! Wonderful, spacious, detailed graphics. So much time and care has been taken over getting scenery, backgrounds, and story to look and feel right. But where are you? I see two moons/planets in the sky! Music enhances the effect of having large areas to roam around in. Non-stop sound effects, with depth to them.
Perhaps if you're looking for a modern setting, hi-tech, or fast-moving game with rapid action, it may not be your cup of tea.
STORY - Story unfolds throughout the game at intervals, so that you are constantly made aware of new information. Lots of notes to find. Relaxing and lots to see. At any point you can return to any scene in the game. There are chapters, but you aren't restricted to those areas only. You'll return to earlier scenes to complete them. Kept me on my toes.
GRAPHICS – Adjustable resolution to 1600 x 900. Widescreen/Fullscreen.
HOPS – 8 with 3 more in the bonus.
PUZZLES: All skippable.
SOUNDS - with 4 adjustments. Pleasant, appropriate and atmospheric. Music is suitable and totally separate. Great atmospheric music: pipes, drums and synth, percussion sounds. Bird song everywhere.
MAP: TRAVEL with useful indicators
JOURNAL: YES. Lots of notes to find to advance your knowledge of current and previous events!
DIFFICULTY SETTINGS - 4 interchangeable
HINT: Guides and leads
INVENTORY - lockable
CHARACTERS: Dignified and believable characters when you do meet, that need your help.
I played this game over 2 or 3 sessions, because I wanted to thoroughly enjoy it and the bonus game! Not a game to be rushed.
I recommend this game!

I thought there was going to be a fast downhill about half-way, but there really wasn't. Twists and turns in the storyline kept coming. I liked the graphics in THIS game more than the Danse Macabre on Thin Ice. I played some of the HOPS, but many times I took the opportunity to play the alternative, which was a fancy looking match-3, with metallic, shiny-looking tokens. Overrall a good game, in a European city setting.
I recommend this game!

Wow! Can't believe I bought this a while ago and only got around to playing it! Beautiful, beautiful graphics. About 9 HOPS with 3 more in the bonus. Just gorgeous. Interesting from start to finish. Loved every minute, AND the bonus.
I recommend this game!

2017 game. The first three chapters were REALLY good. But after that, it felt a bit all thrown together to get to the end. You know, the detail of the graphics goes downhill.
You get the choice of whether to keep your tree-toddler helper (which I liked!). I got attached to that little person (and got him/her back again!). I haven't played the bonus.
I recommend this game!

2017 game. I thought this game was good fun and wacky, with a great sense of imagination. In some places it was light-hearted, and only occasionally, mildly sinister. The storyline must've been good, because I played it to the end without noticing any dips in tempo! I can't speak for the bonus game, because I haven't played it.
STORY - Create your imaginary world? Who wouldn't want to! However, it appears that there might have been some uncontrolled thoughts floating around, that have subsequently materialized, especially into googly-eyed monsters! (Ever watched Foster's Imaginary Friends?)
GRAPHICS - Very good, with lots going on, and good structure to the scenes.
HOPS - 15-18 in the main game. Bonus might have more.
PUZZLES: All skippable.
SOUNDS - with 4 adjustments. Pleasant, appropriate and atmospheric. Music is suitable, totally separate, and GOOD.
MAP: TRAVEL
JOURNAL: Contains tasks
DIFFICULTY SETTINGS - 4 interchangeable
HINT: Guides and leads
INVENTORY - lockable
CHARACTERS: Minimal interaction. The characters are interesting and display personalities you can believe and like. Good voiceovers!
I recommend this game!

Available at BFG since 2014. Completed game. Some of the scenes were just entrancing, for example the path you come across winding past a waterfall, over a bridge, and up into the woods. You'll get: moss, swamps, mountains, hills, mushrooms, frogs, lily pads, crickets, moonlight, caves, fires, rocks and statues, villages, and water! My first impressions were that this game had a great start, with great atmosphere and the feeling as though I was in for an adventure. It settles into a steady pace, and is the kind of game you can play over several days, come back to it at any time, and instantly get into. A wonderful first HOP - underwater, with relaxing music. Items are visible, but well blended/disguised so that you can't instantly spot them. So that made the HOPS more fun! Although I think they got progressively easier.
STORY - Watchout, a power-hungry devotee of the Jaguar God is on the prowl and wants to release him! Can you help deter and avert the impending disaster?
GRAPHICS - Widescreen or fullscreen. Great graphics. Great scenes.
HOPS - 18- 20. GREAT VISIBILITY & WELL HIDDEN (SO RARE!). Lovely and enjoyable to play.
PUZZLES: All skippable.
SOUNDS - with 4 adjustments. Pleasant, appropriate and atmospheric. Music is totally separate and ISN'T constant! Wonderful. So I did listen to most of it!
