I am really enjoying this game. The reason it got a fair amount of bad reviews was simply because they had decided to hide the bonus content from the demo. Lesson learnt I hope devs !! The game is really good - an old fashioned detective murder mystery and I am so loving NO monsters, furry helper, floating men in cossaks and ancient evil..etc etc. Also it would appear to be long in length as I have been playing for some time but am only half way I think. I didnt buy the CE version due to so many negative reviews and also because of the title - no use calling it "Ghost files" when in fact there are no ghosts !! It should have been called "Murder Files". However I had a backlog of credits so I took a chance. What a good decision. Try it.
If you had only played a couple of HOPA games this would be fine - but for us gamers who have been around, this is not good enough. The glue, the resin, the tweezers etc blah blah... I dont know if there are any other methods to find things but I certainly would like to see some. Voices very poor. and I do SO hate monsters flying around. This is the best little helper around - I love him. The Harvest story was the best.
Very brief review I'm afraid. I can see that they have tried very hard to make this a different game and I love the norse world BUT it is wierdly boring. I kept thinking "when is this going to finish" which is not good. I was not engaged and did not know what the end game was... I bought it but wished I had not.
I just LOVE these games from this dev...This is the second or third instalment of this story and it has not worn thin. There is masses to do, the puzzles are great, loads of collectables and morphs but the best thing is the travel map. Frankly I forget occasionally where to place things and it is a bore to have to keep looking so the transport map is very helpful. I think the graphics are great even if the characters move a little stiffly.. it is after all a game,, Have not checked the length of this game but the last ones were really long and worth the money..
The storyline was terrible ridiculous evil old women and others (??) cutscenes were rushed voices laughable characters movements stiff BUT collecting owls was fun puzzles also fun
Sorry this is a succinct review but could not muster enthusiasm for much more sadly
The beginning was same old same old and I dispaired... 19th century old house, creepy english voices (or scottish), letterbox that needs to be opened, weird artifact from the past and of course some sort of demon etc Can we please have a different story ?? pretty please??? but actually the gameplay was quite good and I may well buy as there is a deal on today. I think all of us gamers who have been doing this for some time are getting very tired of the same same same storyline. There must be different stories out there other than the above..???
This game is terrible. Appalling storyline - never mess with a classic graphics cartoonish and gharish But worse of all is the logic (totally missing)!! Fire all around and you get "Im fine but the ceiling might collapse. Do have my shoe which might help" I mean really. Utter tosh!!
I'm sorry but I have no idea what is going on or why I am doing anything or looking for anybody. At the beginning the Scottish guy had thank you post its on his gate and the next moment he is evil and tricking you. I fail to follow the story and I have been playing for years including ALL the MCF games. The whole game is playing in purple and dark black. Am SO disappointed as I bought this game immediately. Also why break with tradition and release this out of season. MCF was always for Thanksgiving.... maybe they should have waited the extra 8 months and put alot more effort into perfecting the storyline and gameplay. Will not even finish.
OMG these two Adam Wolfe episodes are just way out there good... the first one was just as magnificent. Mad Head are just head and shoulders apart and above the rest... At long last exciting storyline, brilliant voiceovers, music superb, puzzles great... I cannot praise this enough. Well done MH.
