this is an excellent game and the childish portraits and main page do not do it credit. The game play is long and varied with many things to collect in order to proceed. The HOPs are also varied with silouettes, HOPs and also pairs. The puzzles may not be too difficult but they are amusing and interesting.
There is an integrated map for jumping around and I especially like the fact that the menu was tucked away to the side.
You collect coins throughout in order to unlock chests which is fun.
I recommend a buy as many hours of fun.

I do not know what all the negative reviews are about as I find this challenging and interesting. Yes, it is very different from Ravensheart and Dire Grove but we have to move on and the devs are leaders in new gaming concepts. I also do not care for live actors but I suppose that is the way they are going. Give this a go - I have not yet finished the game so do not know what the bonus is like - if any - but there are loads of mophing objects to find which is fun too.
I recommend this game!
A classic Christmas tale tail, with a whole new twist! Help the Nutcracker rescue the princess from the evil Rat King!

this is one of the best games in a long time. Great magical story and lots of things to do, collect dolls, and Nutcracker is such a brave little guy !! I loved it.
I recommend this game!

i loved this game. Graphics were great and it was all very original. Puzzles were different. Must admit to turning off the voices and the story was OK. It was SO different from all the crowbar and key stories and I loved it. All the reviews saying constant back tracking are wrong as it is a small world and as you progress you have access to quick travel. Buy and enjoy.
Also it is a long game which is good value. Only bought the SE tho as I missed it when it came out. I would have bought CE.

I really enjoyed this game. Different in that there are no HOGs but I like that. It did not really explain why the guy was so weird altho he had been in the war - but why would he kill his entire family? or was it the missing younger son? I have no idea... even tho I played the whole thing and enjoyed it all. Why was the girl kidnapped anyway and what was he going to do to her? What on earth was that green dog doing? These are questions about the storyline but did not detract from the game. The tools you picked up could be used almost straight away which was good. Some of the puzzles were quite hard but enjoyable and some were really easy.
I recommend this game!
Be careful what you wish for... A deadly bargain has been made, and it's up to you to set things right before your nephew pays the terrible price!

sorry, loved the other grim tales but this one I found tedious as constant back and forth and back and forth. The puppet had a very annoying voice. some of the puzzles were good and new (to me) graphics were very static and in my view rather poor. Seemed to me as if this was a completely new dev to the other grim tales. rather regret buying.
I don't recommend this game.
