A Surprisingly Beautiful SE Game

It was a very long game with a solid storyline that had a satisfying, appropriate ending. I found consistent quality throughout. Even though the lips were crazy-out of sync, the written dialogue was well written and easy to follow. I loved the story and the characters. The main character was a beautiful young lady with a big adventure ahead of her, but I will not spoil it by telling all. I will tell you that it is a good game and story. The graphics are absolutely gorgeous with rich colors and interesting scenes. There were 57 collectible butterflies to be discovered and a little window popped out on left of screen to keep you informed of your butterfly count. The jump-map was superb and took you quickly to the locations, it was a different kind of map which would take you around the grounds by holding down the left control and moving your mouse about...the areas with no further action available were in faded outline. Main character's face showed where you presently were, her hand showed where tasks were available. The hint button was a beautiful perfume atomizer that sprayed in the direction of your item, a sweet extra touch! And the hint button was quick re-loading and took you to locations like the map did. I was very impressed with the game mechanics. The HOGs, puzzles, games were all terrific. There was a potion-mixing one that especially enjoyed. It was a most entertaining game. The options included left-handed mode, custom cursor if you wish and multiple language choices. The sound FX and music were excellent. There are extras after completion of game: Diary which was already viewed in game, a book of hand-drawn & painted butterflies and a book of hidden object scenes. the HOs even though fun to play were time consuming so I stopped only because after completing each one, the book closed & returned to menu where you had to go back each time to continue on with the next one. Too time consuming. There were no gruesome scenes in this game, no crazy maniacs on the loose. Just a big beautiful castle with a big mystery to solve. I highly recommend!

That's why I love these Cruise Director games. I am a big coward when it comes to large bodies of water, especially after the stories of Titanic and Jaws. Much safer with my armchair cruiser (lol).
The scenes are magnificently overflowing with people, scenery, in-motion outdoor background sights, beautiful ship interior. Lots and lots of stuff all over the place which makes the search for HOs an absolute challenge. The items are small and pretty well hidden...makes for a wonderful time. I love the challenge but it is all do-able and if you are stuck it has a very quick hint response.
There are also lost items and trash to find. After the required items are found the porthole will close on the lost and the trash lid will close on the can. Click on the close porthole and you will discover silhouettes of all the lost items aboard the ship and the ones you find are filled in. I found it a smart idea to get all the lost items and trash taken care of in the very beginning...if you find all the HOs on your list but a lost or trash item has not yet been found, the scene will close and you'll have to replay it to get those unfound items. But if you don't care, just continue playing. It effects your score if you like to challenge yourself.
The puzzles and games are so much fun, good variety of easy and challenge. I really enjoy the find the difference and the jigsaws. There is a killer jigsaw in Cruise Director 3. There are always a few in this Series that give me a real test of my patience and skill.
A few things that make Cruise Director games so top quality, IMO, are: The use of real people, it adds a whole new feel and depth to the game...animated characters would ruin this game. I was surprised to see some of the people here were from the Park Ranger games, right down to the rangers themselves. If you are familiar, look for them! But I have always wondered why there were not ever "real" rangers, looks like an artist took a real person and somehow changed the features to a figure with human traits.
The locations being realistic makes it such a beautiful, interesting adventure. The cruiser's interior is unbelievably huge and stunning. The background activity, e.g. hang gliding, birds in flight, hot air balloons, etc. Check it out!
Finally, the games have so much educational value with the different locations and within the puzzles, too. And the whole family can enjoy and learn.
This series is excellent for the wide range of travel and sight-seeing and it is so satisfying to play something like this, rather than something that has a demented creature hiding behind something ready to scare me to death (even though I do own lots of scary games!) I totally love the Park Ranger games because I miss being able to enjoy the national parks, camping, taking pictures, enjoying all the nature and wildlife. Those were very special times! The Park Ranger games are a huge outdoor adventure and the further you travel into the park/woods the more beautiful it becomes. I hope more cruises and outdoor fun will be coming to us on a regular basis.
I highly recommend these games to everyone, young and old, and the kids will love it!

I passed over this game many times, being on the fence about TM games. However, the animals finally won me over. I absolutely love it! The restaurants involve such a busy time finding objects and serving the customers. It was a good challenge and lots of fun because the challenge was not so great as to become a dreaded part of the game. My favorite part was refurbishing the zoo and taking care of the animals. Earning enough money to rebuild the zoo was a slow process because very little cash was given for your accomplishments throughout the game. But it certainly was not a negative for me, it just increased my eagerness to see the results of my efforts. I loved tending to the animals but I wish there had been more tasks to perform in that regard. Eventually, the tasks became repetitious so the predictability diminished the fun somewhat. However, overall this was a very enjoyable sweet game. It was off the beaten path for me because my game collection is full of fantasy, HOGs, mystery/detective, etc. Other gamers surely have the same since BFG seldom offers anything else. That's why I am always eager to try something light without searching in the dark for items and discovering yet another locked door requiring a lost key and I can do without another demented character inflicting evil upon the world. I recommend Gourmania 3 if you need a little break from the heavy stuff ! Perfect as a coupon purchase.

This is the most unusual game I have ever played. Don't know the length, as I've not finished it. In fact, last night I uninstalled it out of sheer frustration...I was sick and tired of running back and forth because there is no map AND I spent way too much time trying to get the right cup of coffee for the whiny zoo director. I absolutely love sc-fi related stories and I am so anxious to get further into the story. Frustration put aside, I really am having fun with this game. In the beginning, the town looked completely deserted and it made for a very creepy background. Eventually, a few characters started appearing and what a quirky bunch they are! I love their dialogue and their crazy personalities. There's a little guy who hangs out in the bar that needs a swift kick in the pants just because he is so irritating. The other-worldly character that I have now met really has a sinister, uncomfortable aura about him. I have yet to experience that "jump out of your chair" moment, but I think I am anxious to get it over with. My love-hate relationship with "The Others" makes playing very interesting and sometimes difficult. I 've so far enjoyed the mini games and HOGs, none have been too difficult. Going back and forth through the maze a million times is something I could definitely do without! I wish Big Fish would find more sci-fi games for us, we have so few. In this day and age you would think there would be an abundance of them!

Samantha is a very busy girl, with more than enough adventure! I love all the Samantha games, but I think this one has more to it than the others, For me, it was about 6 hrs long and I greatly enjoyed every moment. The story was good and uncomplicated, the goals Samantha had to achieve required lots of work and travelling all over the place. I loved the graphics, very colorful and interesting. Each scene had an extra special element to it to keep your progress moving along. And if you love HOGs, this game will please you to no end. The hidden objects are usually small and well hidden and more than one step is required to find your items and get on to your next location. Loved all the interactivity. A different kind of hint system which added a little more challenge, but a good kind of challenge, The music was not irritating as in so many other games. Absolutely, IMO. top quality all the way. I wish there were more of these games available...challenging, fun, busy. No demons, lunatics, dark castles, etc. It was good versus evil, without all the sinister stuff. I love Samantha Swift adventures and I highly recommend this game.

With so many reviews ahead of mine, chances are mine won't even be read. BUT just in case, I will just say the game was beautiful in every way: puzzles, HOGs, graphics, story, voices. Nothing at all negative! The music was stellar and made for a very relaxing gameplay. My favorite HOG was the one played on the back of the Old Sailor Bar owner. What a clever, unique idea, it was a HOG that also opened a safe by providing the code numbers, I also loved the way that the collectibles and morphs were done...there was never any guesswork involved from scene to scene, trying to remember which to look for or how many have been collected. Very helpful, indeed! The Cadenza games are always of such high quality!
I recommend this game!

I have owned the Golden Trails Series for a couple of years and surprisingly tonight is my first time playing. Boy, was I missing out on some great fun!! For an older game as other gamers refer to it, it really is exceptional for an SE. A downright good HOG, lots of collectibles and achievements, good interactive list/inventory, fun extras. My favorite extra is shooting the bad guys when they randomly appear during the game. You never know when they will show up or on which part of your screen. The shooting range with the bad guys as targets is also a blast and when your bullets are spent, I love that your gun is reloaded and I like the sound of reloading it. The story is good as the sheriff is busy trying to solve the mystery in the tiny town of Sunnyvale, it becomes more involved and interesting as he leaves town following his clues. The hidden objects throughout the game are done very well, they are quite a challenge at times...not so much because they are small, but because they are cleverly hidden. I thought the graphics were bright and colorful and I really enjoyed the dialogue, spoken or printed. It was especially good, IMO, because the sheriff's voice was just perfect and easy to listen to. Golden Trails is such a relaxing, fun time and I am happy to spend my money on games like this. There just are not enough of them. Now that I have discovered this delightful game, I can hardly wait to get into the other two. I hope you will give it a try...if you like HOGs, I seriously doubt that you will be disappointed. I highly recommend this game and now I have to go get me another bad guy!!

The Park Ranger games are so much fun and so busy. I own all 5 of them and love them all. There is a good variety of games and puzzles, the hidden objects are quite challenging because many are small and all are well hidden. I just love that we get a satisfying challenge without pulling our hair out from frustration. Though I must admit to using my trusty old magnifying glass quite a few times. Using real people in the game is such a quality feature and Pinecreek Hills is so scenic. It gets more beautiful the further you go into the park and it is filled with all kinds of wonderful sights. It is a visually busy game and even the background is filled with much activity and wonderful sights. Just remember to take the time to enjoy it, as it gets overlooked if you are not aware that it is of importance to the overall enjoyment of the game. Park Rangers is a great learning tool for adults and children and has wonderful replay value. I really appreciate the helpful change in Park Ranger 5, which is the recycle can shows us that it is full and we can stop searching for the trash items. In the previous games I just kept a keen eye on the count and hoped I had collected everything. Which was not a negative, just sometimes a little frustrating. I enjoy everything about Park Rangers, they just keep getting better and better. A quality game from start to finish and runs smoothly, never any slowness, stalling, freezing, etc. The color and graphics are outstanding. The equipment and buildings, scenery (like the park visitors) add that special pizazz because of the realistic pictures it all provides. Love the wildlife, the silhouette wildlife collectibles, achievements, shopping with your earned coins.
I do seriously hope we have more and more Park Ranger in our future!! There is such a shortage of light-hearted, fun, family oriented games on Big Fish. I play the other games in spite of their "darkness" because I love playing games very much. But I know that all the darkness & evil, monsters, maniacs, mad doctors, etc is not healthy for anyone all the time. Park Rangers (and there are other innocent, fun Big Fish games) provide that very necessary and welcome change from all that heavy stuff ! Obviously, I highly recommend this game...it is easy to enjoy. God Bless !

Really a permanent vacation!! I own and love all the Park Ranger games but this one not quite as much. My 2 dislikes with this one are 1) I hate snow, even in a game. I need color and that color-filled scenery, the sunny scenes - seems silly, I know, but the game isn't as appealing to me without these things. 2) Objects that were hidden in the snow were just outlines/transparent which made them so difficult (for me) to find. Very time consuming which led to just hitting the hint to be done with it. Gamers without 20/20 vision may have the same problem as I did..
However, I truly enjoyed the game and it seemed to have more mini games than the others and the games were a lot of fun. I found Park Ranger 3 to be more challenging than the others, too. I love all the detail and different activities the guests are enjoying. And the deeper into the park, the more beautiful it became. The little things going on in the background of each scene were really terrific. If you get caught up in the game, they are easy to overlook. So I always take time to see it all.
One of the great features of this game is the use of real people. That makes it much more interesting IMO because the guests are all different and provide a realistic park adventure. I hope more Vacation Adventure games will be coming to us soon. Everyone can play, great family fun, very educational, I highly recommend!

I just can't get enough of these wonderful puzzles. I wish they were offered more often. I eagerly await the new puzzle each day, only to find another Collector's Edition of which there are way too many. Wouldn't it be great to find another fantastic jigsaw full of beautiful animals, nature, flowers, birds, underwater scenes, etc? Would love to see a Super-Sized Edition with twice as many puzzles!! Earth Chronicles are just the best IMO. I must admit that computer puzzles took some adjustment period for me, but now I really enjoy them a lot. My first love will always be the table puzzles though because my cat has fun "helping" me and working a puzzle with a friend is really a special enjoyment for me.
I highly recommend this game. The pictures are all beautiful and the color is superb. Quality all the way and such a huge selection. If you love puzzles I think you will really be happy with this set. Enjoy!!
