I was delighted that a trial version was not so "empty" this time. There were so many collectibles, morphs, and variety of tasks. The HOPs were unique and very interactive, so much fun when a challenge is thrown in. I had trouble with one of them though because it was so dark and it slowed me down. The one I really enjoyed was having to find pieces of a "painting" instead of your typical hidden objects. It was a little tricky and I liked it a lot. I thought the graphics and the music were nicely done. The storyline was interesting enough even though I don't normally care for snowy scenes, I like lots and lots of colorful scenery. The castle interior contained many fantastical things. The chained door was kind of creepy as were the knights. It was such a busy, visually attractive game and the little bird added a sweet touch. I have been on the fence about purchasing this game, but after playing the trial version, I decided to go for it. Just have to wait for the right sale opportunity to come along. I try to make my reviews as helpful as possible though it's harder on a trial...so I want to thank the gamers who also write good, informative reviews. It really takes the pain and guesswork out of shopping. God Bless....

I love games with heavily interactive HOPs and this one didn't disappoint. A couple of puzzles were difficult and I skipped them so I could get on with the game. The free trials seem to go so quickly. The graphics were very colorful and clear. Being a little cartoonish never bothers me as long as the game is fun. The Shadow Menace felt more sophisticated than games I have recently played. That is a good thing !There were lots of new-fangled gadgets to help in your quest and it had an excellent storyline. I also liked the idea of travelling between 2 different realms to accomplish your goals, it added more depth to the story, I am anxious to see more of the main characters. I really enjoyed the game and even though it played simply in the trial, I think it will become more involved and a little more difficult as the game moves along. Should be suitable for all players. God Bless....

With few exceptions, I am not thrilled with this type of SE because the devs try to cram too much into a short amount of game time. But this one was good with the right amount of plot and action to keep it interesting at a good pace, so the quality was not compromised. A simple road trip turned into an harrowing experience for Amanda and James, when a nut-case from Amanda's past kidnapped James. He was obsessed with Amanda and was determined to prevent her from marrying James. There were a couple of other characters who made very minimal appearances in the story, one of which I believed to be the culprit at first. And then I suspected Amanda's brother. I wish it had been the Lone Miner returning to scare the heck out of everyone! It was still an entertaining game with a little mystery involved. I liked the HOGs and mini games/puzzles, except for the game where you had to move pieces or tokens to a particular slot while other pieces moved at the same time. It was frustrating and tested my patience. I finally just skipped it before my blood pressure shot up. The HOGs were skippable, which I had never seen before. I cannot imagine anyone wanting to skip a HOG !! But, it is a welcome feature for those who hate them. There was a map but did not need it, as the locations aren't strewn all over the place. The back and forth was easy-peasy. The graphics were very sharp and colorful, the voices were good and the storyline held my interest. I was surprised when all of a sudden the ending came out of nowhere and a loose explanation was given for the chain of events. Amanda saved the day and her fiancée, and brought everything to a very happy ending. Thank goodness for all these beautiful Super Heroines! What would we do without them ?! The game ran smoothly, no fancy stuff and had just enough challenge to keep the boredom at bay. I recommend as a coupon purchase or when there is a good sale. God Bless...

What a pleasure, playing this game. I own the all the DK novels and I am eager to continue the journey. This was a top quality game with such a heartbreaking story. A true love nipped in the bud by greed and illness. I was so sad when Giovanni was discovered hidden away so cruelly. I think I gasped out loud, even though I had suspected early on that something terrible happened to him. If I were reading this story, the pages would be spattered with tears.
It was a long game with good mini-games/puzzles and were so enjoyable because they had just the right amount of challenge for a game of this nature. The graphics were superb, so sharp and colorful and detailed. The music was haunting and really added an extra layer of beauty to the story. I wish they had included a more in-depth recollection of Giovanni's and Eva's relationship. Some of the tasks were downright silly...one being, going all the way back to the restroom across the street from the lab for a bottle of water, and washing a door knob in its sink.. Even sillier was that professor who was always posed like a Penneys Catalogue model !! But none of that is a complaint, just a "I wonder why the devs did THAT" !! I was okay with the ending, but not okay with the lack of extras in this CE. Very disappointing indeed ! Oh well, can't have everything I guess. But this was a very nice game which I recommend if you like relaxing games that don't have demons and monsters running around all over the place. God Bless....

I agree with the other positive reviews and don't understand the unfavorable ones. You pretty much know from the get-go that this is going to be a very simple game...so why complain when it presents little challenge or bonuses to earn? I love the game because it is so colorful and the graphics are large and crystal clear. I enjoy the simple challenge of earning the collectibles and a few times I actually failed to meet my goal and had to replay a set several times. The music doesn't get in the way of the relaxed mood I am enjoying. I would not pay full price for this sweet game, but it is definitely worth picking up with a coupon or during a sale.
I would like to add that I am so starved for a solid solitaire game ( in case the developer reads our reviews)...one that gives us a challenge, bonuses, collectibles, achievements, goals we really have to work for, etc. A solitaire game that doesn't put you to sleep nor waste our money. Luckily I DO own maybe 1/2 dozen really wonderful solitaires with all that stuff in them, so I do not understand WHY in the world we keep getting these silly, boring ones. It is possible to make quality solitaire games...it just takes desire and effort on the part of the devs. It feels like they just throw anything together for a fast buck!
Try Magic Cards Solitaire if you are looking for a little fun away from a hectic schedule. God Bless....

Even though I did not find this one as beautiful as the first Mosaics, it still deserves 5 stars. I always play in the relaxed mode to save my blood pressure from going sky high and I like earning stars for my work...BUT it feels kind of like cheating when I didn't really perform the real test to win them. Make sense ?? I think the stars should just be a timed achievement. The pictures in Mosaics 2 were nice but the materials were very washed out. Color makes a big difference to me. I did not even like a couple of them, especially the paper. It is always my least favorite in all my mosaic games anyway. I also had trouble recognizing what a few of the pictures were until I really gazed at them a little while. I know my review seems negative, but that is not the case...I LOVE mosaic puzzles and own all that are offered on Big Fish. They are such a great challenge and so satisfying when I finally get it right! I am always wishing for more and would love to see more animals, birds and nature. Sometimes I get really bored with the same fantasy type pictures all the time. Mosaics 2 was fun and challenging and ran smoothly and is good family entertainment. May be a little too difficult for younger children without some adult assistance.

I had lots of fun ! The game had plenty of things to find in every scene, with just enough challenge if you are not into pulling your hair out ! There are missing items and puzzle pieces to find, items to replace back into the scene, as well as 3 gold coins in each scene. There are tools available in the store which can be handy in your quest to find The Tears and solve the mystery. After completing all your tasks in a location, it is permanently closed so no time is wasted returning to a useless area. I appreciate that feature !
I love "Wipi". He gives you an extra hint if you are quick enough to click on him in his very brief appearance, on any edge of your screen. He looks so funny running across your screen, if you ask for a hint. By the way, your hints accumulate if not used. I had MANY of them left at the end of the game. I was delighted to find "spot the difference" puzzles in the game, they have always been a favorite especially if they are challenging. I felt these were of medium challenge.
The storyline was good...along the lines of Samantha Swift and Amanda Rose. This was a nice relaxing, innocent game suitable for all ages. Overall a quality little SE that offers entertainment free of monster, demons and witches. It ran smoothly, the graphics were nice, the music did not distract and the subject matter was interesting. I think it is wholesome enough for children to play. I used a coupon but would have felt okay had I picked it up in a sale, or even paid the $6.99.

This was a very nice solitaire game. The story was romantic and written very well. I was anxious to get to the next chapter, like reading a little love story. The game ran smoothly, the music was nice and the boards were so beautiful. The colors and designs were stunning and are something not typically seen in a solitaire game. It added a new element of pleasure to the playing experience. There isn't much a game creator can do to make a solitaire game different enough to stand out from the rest. And the word "exciting" is never in the description. But I think this creator did a fine job of giving solitaire a new style. I found it interesting and attractive and I liked the score being kept for a goal to be reached which kept the game going for a long time. if you wanted it to.

The Fifth Kingdom is a CE filled with lots of things to keep you busy...and happy that you chose this game. I thought the creators were very generous. My trial version felt more like 30 minutes than 90 min. I took too much time just checking out everything and clicking on items to see what would happen (like the rose petals drifting down from the bird cages). I love all the extra visuals.
I made it into the castle and then my time was up! Drats !! Early into the game a map was provided. A very good one, not confusing and saved all the going back and forth that we all hate. It is important to find the collectible crowns, they provide useful tips . Also, look for the crescent moons hidden in the HOPs. Like the crowns, they are stored next to the hint button, I think it just keeps track of how many you have found??? There was a Moon Mirror that you use to locate the invisible floating moons, so that the poisonous Eclipse Blossom can be killed. The mirror will need to be recharged, but I wasn't confronted with that in the amount of time my trial version allowed me.
The characters and voices were excellent. The graphics were rich with beautiful color and detail. Everything was quality all the way, IMO. I really appreciate games that offer graphics that are done with realistic colors and well-drawn scenery and characters. The music was not difficult to listen to, but it was very exaggerated when certain occasions came up so that was a little too much and had to lower the volume. The storyline was solid and easy to follow and I am eager to see how the story ends. There were several "jump off my seat" scares, and I always love that !! The game was full of collectibles, achievements, interactive HOPs (excellent), challenging (do-able) puzzles, even tho I had to skip the bridge-building one (too impatient due to short amount of trial time I didn't want to waste). The games were fun. I unfortunately had only a few. The games/puzzles were skippable. There was a good amount of collectibles including some cats and portraits although I never saw any of those. In the options you can choose your skills mode, I think there were 4 or 5 available. Also choose the amount of time-reload for the hint and skip. Use custom cursor if you like. For the first time ever, I chose the game cursor because it was attractive and not chunky-clunky like so many others. It worked beautifully. The tasks were not mind-bending, the game loaded quickly, no hesitations between scenes and ran smoothly.
I was impressed with the game in the short amount of time I played, so I immediately purchased, knowing I have hours of entertainment to look forward to. It was nice having a coupon for a CE, but I would have gladly spent the $$ on this one.

I have read the book and saw the original movie many years ago. It was so creepy back then, given I was much younger. I have since enjoyed all the Poe books and movie adaptations. However my favorites have always been the dark, sad poems.
I was delighted to find these games on Big Fish, although they are very lightly based on the novels. Really had fun with this one, it was challenging and included many wonderful HOGs and puzzles. The graphics were stellar and rich with appropriate items and design for that time period along with perfect coloring. It added so much to the experience.
Detective Dupin certainly was a nice addition, which is always the case. The story had a suitable ending. This was a quality purchase and I am looking forward to playing all the other Dark Tales games. Yep, I went overboard and purchased all of them !! I don't think I will be disappointed. Hopefully you have fun with The Fall of the House of Usher, too !
By the way, the are a couple of cute little games VERY loosely based on this Poe story. Check out "The House on Usher" for some different fun on this subject.
