This game is such a great change of pace. The topic is science fiction with a movie worthy story. It is both retro and futuristic and has a 50's vibe. Graphics are great, sound is great and music is appropriate and non obtrusive, vo's are well done. Yes, you still have to find your way around and collect items but what an enjoyable and different way to do it. Although this is not a super difficult game there are some moments and the puzzles are fun. I even enjoyed the ho scenes which are not my favorite things. Cut scenes are very well done. There may be too many of them for some people but I thought they had a nice cinematic quality. Love the developer for giving us something new in this world of ghosts and forlorn lovers.

This is one of those games that is put together so smoothly the you flow from one action to the next. There is something compelling about it that makes you want to just try one more scene before you turn it off, and well then another etc. I played a little over an hour of the demo and really liked it. I had not particularly cared for the Off the Record series until the last one Art of Deception but really enjoyed it. Liberty Stone has many of the same qualities. There are distinct characters who interact and are part of the overall puzzle. I already have some distinct impressions about these people. I don't think most of the game is particularly difficult. There is a map that is sort of helpful because it gets you back and forth fast. It did not seem 100% trustworthy though on some occasions. You would see a highlighted area with a mission but find nothing there to do. It was necessary to stop somewhere else to get what you needed. It has morphing things and collectable numbers but I have to admit that once I get into a game I forget to look for those things. I usually get most of the morphing objects because they are, well, just sitting there morphing. Even it you have not like Off the Record games before give this one a try. I think you will enjoy it immensely.

Based on 1 hour of trial When I first came across the Dark Parables games I purchased all and loved them. The last 2 though have not been very interesting to me and I did not care for the story or game play and did not purchase. So I felt I would just try this one not expecting to like it. To my surprise I really enjoyed it. Everything about the game is more like the older DP games. Had to stop my self from finishing because I will purchase the game but likely will wait for CE version or a sale. No particular complaints. Visuals are good, music is good, story is average and breaks no new ground, HO scenes (not my favorite things) are typical of DP. What I did LOVE about the game was the pace of play and the seamless feeling. You kept finding what you needed and moving on. No forgetting about the scene 6 screens ago where you need a symbol. To me it is about perfect and kept me involved and focused. There is a map but you hardly need to use it. Please give this one a try. You may also be glad you did.

Based on demo. I confess I am an avid mystery book reader and approached this game with great enthusiasm. It turned out to be great fun and really is a mystery. I am buying the CE version to make sure I find out who the villain turns out to be-I do have one idea already. I was so in to the game that I thought something was wrong with my computer when the trial ended. Had no idea I had played the whole demo. I have no technical complaints about the game. Graphics are clear, sound is ok, no hiccups along the way. Games were fun. And yes, the all purpose tool is a must.

I was very impressed by the graphics. The sound is appropriate and not bothersome. VO's good. The game is fairly logical and you can figure out what to do next. Game has a map which I really like when there is some back and forth action. The storyline is, well, the storyline. Nothing new here. You have an amulet to unfreeze frozen time bubbles. There are regular HO scenes which are clear and large enough. There was one rather different HO scene in the demo and I really could not see some of the objects I was looking for. I found them and still never saw them. It is a fun game and on the easy side and I think most BFishers will enjoy it.

The graphics were very good and clear and interesting. The sound was appropriate to the game and never was annoying-I was able to keep it on. The story was not new but there has an interesting wrinkle with the elf boy and I am curious to find out how he turns out in the end. Also not sure if the Orc men will figure in later. Some of the puzzles and HO scenes were a little different and fun. I liked the bad guys and the pest or whatever he was, I think a rat that kept appearing. get a Phoenix helper and make a shrinking potion which you can use a limited number of times so every time you come across a difficult character you have to decide if you REALLY need to use it. Lots of fun. I would rate it very high on just the fun factor. The level of challenge was not terribly high but I guess I could have raised the play level. It is a good rather leisurely game that I look forward to finishing. Can't think of anything I did not like although the challenge level could definitely been higher.
I recommend this game!

Black Viper: Sophia's Fate
Cop by day, formidable thief by night: Sophia, aka Black Viper, is a young woman leading a double life.
The graphics were good, the voice overs were good, the story was interesting and a little different. It was not an adventure game and it was far more of an HOG than I care for.
The female protagonist spoke v.e.r.y.s.l.o.w.l.y and I found it annoying. The music was repetitive and annoying. I also found the hint always being a cracking gunshot sound got a little old.Have to admit I started getting bored and stopped.
I think a lot of people might like the game because they love HOGs so I would recommend it with that proviso. I would try the demo first though.

I agree with other reviews that the game suffered from an overabundance of dialogue and I hated to have to constantly click for the next sentence. I liked the idea and the characters. The "Fledgling" professors seemed interesting.
The opening made no sense and for one of the first times I had to skip it at some point.
To answer a couple of complaints: The hint button-If you keep pushing it you get additional information
Putting the items on the desk-if you look closely you will see light shapes on the map that look like the shapes of the items you need to replace. Just put them on these shapes.
I liked the puzzles but thought they were a little too easy to solve.
I did not mind the hand drawn quality of the graphics and was able to see things ok. Once you got used to the game it moved along rather swiftly except for the excessive dialogue that kept intervening. I did manage to retrieve all of the professor's papers from the fire.
It would maybe make a game for your free coupons. I really wish they had put a little more effort into it.

Ok, I agree that we have heard the plot. But the gameplay is is so much fun and the puzzle/hogs are different and varied. The graphics are good and the music appropriate and not invasive. It had a rather magical fairytale quality about it. One complaint though. The wings of the owl were rather noisy in their fluttering. I was surprised that no one knew that owls are silent flyers. Otherwise it was fun. The progress of action had logic so you could decide what to do next. There is a map which always helps. The game is dense and has much to do but the actions flow well and are enjoyable.
I recommend this game!

The Big Secret of a Small Town
Find out what is hidden behind the mysterious disappearance of the Mayor.
Based on the hour of trial play If you have never played this type of game I guess it is sort of a different experience and takes some getting used to. You really have to look for some of those little items. You really have to figure out those clues that are like riddles sometimes. Yes it is frustrating. Yes it is fun. So far no HO scenes which is a plus for me. I have had to use the hint button more than I care to and keep wondering why I did not see that without help. Not sure if there is a storyline-I guess you are looking for the mayor but this is not a game that is built on the story. Just go along for the ride. I like the graphics. They are clear and have a kind of simplicity and type of items that I enjoy. Love those unknown industrial machines. The music is not bad but becomes monotonous after a while so I just turned it down. No big problem there.
I suggest you at least try to play it for what it is and not for what you want it to be. And do give it the full hour. The beginning was a little cartoonish but the whole game is not like that. I am putting it on my buy list.
