I have the other games in the series and was looking forward to this one. Have to say that overall I was disappointed.
The visuals were great and the music and voice overs were also above average. Jump map worked very well (thank goodness) And that leads me to my big complaint. There was constant back and forth travel. Sometime objects were held for quite a while before they were needed or sometimes you found an object long after you had first seen the need for it. I could visualize the scene where it belonged but just could not remember how to get there without the map. It became tedious. I was glad to finish the game. Sometimes after completing a task there seemed no logical "next step". So back to the map again.
I have enjoyed the other games in this series immensely and really hate to give such a low score but this one did not work for me.
I am recommending it because it does have some redeeming qualities and great graphics and the moving may not bother others the way it did me.

I did not even finish the demo and went and purchased the game. Sound was great. Visuals great. Gameplay combines different things from adventure, ho games. More of an adventure but with things to do. I did not find any bothersome graphic scenes. It is in some ways reminiscent of the feel of some earlier games that I enjoyed but the quality is far superior.

I am not all the way through the game and I just don't know if I can make it to the end. It seems like an arduous task all the way through. Don't know why they named it Goldilocks its more like the Midas Touch. Graphics were generally good. Items in some of the HOP scenes were extremely small or shaded so that they were not very visible and I found that annoying. Why search for something you can't see anyway? And I am a little weary of those overly filled HO scenes. The music is good and some of it nice to listen to. Dark Parables games have sort of become hit or miss with me lately. I used to love them. Glad I purchased this one with a coupon. It is certainly not a bad game but it is forgettable. Sorry to have to say this. I was hoping for better.

Loved this game. Also loved the first in the series. The subject matter is very apropos to our current times. The gameplay was smooth. The music was fine. Loved the graphics. The puzzles were soluble albeit some took a little time. They had a couple of types that I am just not good at but it did not matter. Offhand there is nothing I would change. Wish there were more of this type.

This game was so charming and enjoyable. Although there was a "bad guy" he did not even turn up until the end. Thought the graphics were very interesting and well done and there were some rather odd fantasy characters. VO's well done. The main complaint was that some of the figures were not as well drawn as they could have been. It was about average in overall difficulty with some things a little too easy and some rather difficult. A perfect game for just relaxing play. I also think it would be an appropriate family game to play with a younger child since the imagery is rather benign. I have given it a 5 because I really did enjoy it and played the demo to the end without realizing it. Always tells me the game is a buy.

The graphics were great Items easy to see. There is a map.The sound was excellent. I found myself stopping the game play to just listen. Lately I am finding more attention to the sound which I applaud. I used to have to turn off the sound or just play my own music while I played the game. There is a nice twist to the plot. I sort of thought something like it was going to happen but had no idea who it would be. If there is any criticism it is that it is a little too easy sometimes. The pace is fast and insistent which I enjoy. Overall an enjoyable game with some interesting characters.

I never even considered trying the CE version. Just thought it was another monster type game. For some reason I played the trial version today and was delighted. There are some wacky characters and figures. Some very funny actions. It is a pleasure to just look at. Love the creativity that went into some of the designs. The music is also pretty good and fun and works with the game. Nothing about the game so far is particularly difficult but it is so much fun who cares. The story seems to be just another abduction tale. Nothing really different unless it changes somewhere. But again the fun factor overrides all of this. This review is based on the demo version. It seemed to end way too soon and I did not hesitate to immediately purchase the full version. One word of caution: if you are super serious and have no sense of humor you may not appreciate this.

For me this game hit all the requirements. The graphics were great. I thought the story was an interesting take on the old fairy tales. There were some very subtle eye movements in characters that were priceless. I even liked the bonus chapter and the take on Hansel and Gretel. And wonder of wonders, I really loved the soundtrack. This is one of my biggest complaints of games. I usually have to turn them down or off. This game had some lovely and interesting musical themes that I could appreciate for themselves. It is the first time that I started a game over as soon as I had finished it.

This game starts with an exciting and rousing scramble in the plane. You are trying to perform essential tasks while bouncing around in a storm and trying to stay in the plane. Actually I only played part of the trial. Why? Because I knew I was going to purchase it from the start. This looks like hours of great fun.
The graphics are wonderful and I liked the sound enormously. I used my earphones to get the full effect, something I rarely do. Also liked the "turn around arrows" in the beginning when you are back and forth in the plane. A little different approach.

After passing on the last few Dark Parables games I found that I have found one to love. I can't quite define it but it seems a little different from some of the recent ones. The graphics are beautiful and fairly clean without so much clutter. So far the play is logical. My main complaint is the graphics on the HO scenes. Most of the items are clear and findable but there were a few that to me seemed to be so poorly rendered that even after using the hint I could not tell what they were. The story is ok and I agree that we can guess who will win-but maybe I will be wrong. People who like the DP games should enjoy this one and I recommend it highly.
