Just when I was getting tired of looking for demons and amulets this wonderful change of pace comes along. I started the demo and after what seemed like a short time was annoyed that the game would not work. Oh....I had played through the demo without being aware. So I immediately purchased.
Love the graphics and sound. Yes there is not a lot of help but I found the info button kept you headed in the right direction. Just explore all the areas and don't skip checking things out even when the hint wants you to go back and complete a puzzle. There is a lot of back and forth but so far I have managed ok. The most important thing is too look at everything and make notes when it looks potentially usable. It will just save time going to find the info again. No HOS! Yeah! and interesting puzzles. Actually you may see the answer to a puzzle before you do it but you may miss it because you do not expect it. Lots of fun and surprises.

The graphics in this game are so good. I agree with another review that I stop to look around at everything in the scene. Sort of mechanical meets steam punk meets sailing ship. Very imaginative. The game is on the easy side but very interesting. I am still not sure what the black smoke keeps doing. I only played the demo and found there were more HO scenes than I like but they were not difficult or time consuming. The game is a little different and has its own vibe.

Hmm..well yes I immediately got the "Ten Little Indians" part but thought it was amusing- not a problem. I love mysteries and enjoyed delving into this one. On my computer the graphics were very good and clear. I did not have an issue with fuzziness. And yes I loved being able to click away the conversation instead of having to wait for the character to stop.
I thought there were some interesting different HO scenes, especially the morphing one and the crystals. Sound was fine. I did think that maybe it was a little on the easy side but that can be a plus when you are tired and just playing for fun. The pace was fast to me maybe because you were always having to save someone.
And yes, the power was on in some places after being knocked out but this is just a game-maybe they had some strategically placed generators. I guess I am just able to suspend belief, raise an eye brow, and keep going. Now I am curious to see who and why and solve the mystery.
I thoroughly enjoyed the game and suggest you try out the demo for yourself before deciding.
I have not had time to finish the preview but I love the game. It is primarily an "adventure game" but a little different from most others. Getting started is something of a challenge since you are presented with a lot of gadgets to help you along. Do use the tutorial. I tend to skip them but this time it was helpful in getting set up. There is a lot going on on the screen and it took me some time to cover all the activities. I like the visuals and odd characters and find the whole thing great fun. I think though that I may just start over now that I have the drill and make sure I did not miss anything. Don't let the amusing visuals fool you. The game is actually difficult.

I was going to pass on this at first- until I read the reviews. So I decided to give it a chance. I loved it from the first scene. I was not sure where the game was going at all but just stayed with it and had a great time. Thought the graphics were great and the sound was very appropriate. Voice overs were also good. There is quite a bit of variety in activities so you don't just feel like you are doing the same thing over and over again. I still am not sure where the story is going but I plan to find out.

I almost did not purchase this game. It seemed the typical save the new queen type thing. Boy was I surprised! This game has very high quality graphics and the sound is appropriate if sometimes a little repetitive, but then we can always turn the sound down. At this point I think I am about 1/2 way through and thoroughly enjoying it. Puzzles and HOGS are varied and interesting. A couple I had trouble figuring out how to start and once I had to use the guide but for the most part it is soluble without too much effort. Some games just take a certain amount of time because one must move various elements back and forth on the board. Love the puzzles/hogs that resemble the popup gift cards and can morph by hitting an arrow. I don't remember anything quite like it.
If you have also overlooked this game please try it. You won't be disappointed.

I was one of the fortunate people who got to beta test this game. I loved it and was disappointed it did not come out sooner. I did not bother to download the sample because I know I am going to enjoy it.

Comments based on demo
I was surprised at the initial low scores given to this game. I thought the graphics were great and the story line at the end of the demo promised to go somewhere different than you expected. Gameplay was standard issue. Must say I enjoyed putting together the machine parts. There was a fair amount of back and forth but again not from points that were far away. I have to agree though that as soon as I saw that barn my first thought was that I had seen it before. I did not think much about it because there is another well known series that has revisited sites. Probably more. Doesn't bother me.
The main negative is the music. Quality is good but it is sort of manic and gets annoying after a while so I turned it way down.
Game play is relatively easy but there are several levels of play. I always preview on the casual to make sure I finish the preview with as much game time as possible.
I recommend the game. Is it groundbreaking? No. Is it a good enjoyable game? Yes. At his point I can only give it 4 stars. If the story turns out to be a little more unusual it could go to 5 star.

While I understand some reviewers' frustrations over the same old stories (I gave up on a game preview that started with a car going over the cliff-again) I think this game merits a little better review.
The graphics were excellent and I liked the sound track much better than most.
Yes, the story line seemed sort of familiar. But I thought the characters were different and I liked the "secret society" theme. Searching for items that made little sense at times that made no sense???? Par for the course. Some rather highly rated games do the same. I have stopped playing some of the series because of this. I only played the demo but enjoyed it. The game is fairly easy and so far not overwhelmed with ho scenes. It took just playing some of the games to understand the directions-another par for the course for me. I would probably get this with one of my free game coupons or during a sale. Or maybe just buy it outright.
So nice to have something different. Very few hop scenes and they are varied and you never know what you are going to get in the puzzles. A couple of things took me a few tries. I love games that make you figure out things and try to determine the next step or how to do what must be done. There seems to be ample help but try to figure out everything first. It is great fun. A map lets you know when an area is done. I guess you could say that the scenes are dark but the graphics are wonderful and you can see everything easily. Is it creepy? Well it is not fairies and gremlins but I don't see it as something that difficult. Quite a bit of time has been put in to create images that relate to and further the game. I hope more games like this start to appear. Looking forward to purchasing and enjoying the rest of the game.
