This game has an interesting story line and the action draws you in immediately. I had planned to only play to see how I liked it and almost finished the whole sample before I stopped. Nice recreation of the era in both items and locale. A lot of small but fun things-like the map with a car running through it to your location and the race to get to the destination ahead of the taxi. Thought some of the French voices were a little overdone but nothing serious. Will definitely purchase.

Based on the past offerings in the Maze stories I purchased the CE without even trying it. It did not disappoint. I think the game was a little different from the earlier ones but still just as engaging and enjoyable. There were some challenging things in the game but it was not very difficult and moved at a nice pace. Not too much back and forth either. If I had one even slightly negative comment it would be that the game was a little short. It is really a compliment since lately I have been bored by the time I reach the end of some of the games.
Loved it from the beginning. Not a super original theme but different enough to be interesting. Thought some of the HO episodes had a novel presentation and were not predictible. Games and puzzles alternated between being easy and difficult. I loved the graphics and the music was appropriate and not distracting. The various locations were diverse and interesting.
I have to say I was surprised at some of the less enthusiastic reviews. Like many others I have enjoyed playing this more than a lot of the games that have come out lately.

Based on playing demo.
I played the beta version some time ago and loved the game then and was glad to see it finally available. The Oz story with a little twist. Think it is great fun. I found it visually engaging. Hope the rest is as good.

I don't understand all the reviews on this game. I really liked the visuals and thought the game play, story etc were equal to or better than most of the current games. Yes there are a lot of Fairy games but it seems as though most of the games now are just repeats of a previous idea. I think I will wait and purchase the SE later but might just go ahead and get the CE if it takes too long. Don't let the naysayers keep you from trying this one. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

For not the first time I have looked forward to playing one of the games highly rated by the test group and found it not to meet the built up expectations. Review based only on demo.
The voice overs were better than most. Characters had nice natural movement. But again what it boils down to is a "stolen person" who is being saved. Again. I did not find it particularly scary. It was dark but that did not equate with scary for me. Neither did the villain. Having said all this I must add that I did like the game and would probably purchase as an SE. Just did not think it was exceptional.
But like all games you have to try it for yourself. I feel like I may be raining on a parade because I expected something a little different.
I just decided to try this for something new and different for me. Usually these games do not work for me. What a good decision! This was great fun. The levels start out easy but soon become more difficult but so far I have been able to figure them out. You have to keep looking at each level with fresh eyes and not just doing what worked on the last level. I blew through the demo and purchased the game with the 2 for 1 deal. I never got the story line but it did not matter. Each level is its own challenge. Give it a try.

Never have played this series. I was immediately taken by the beautiful graphics. Thought they were magical and I could look at them over and over. The sound was interesting and varied. These are 2 things that are important to me in a game. Game play was fairly straightforward and not too difficult. VO's were excellent. The story started off like many do with an accident but it has its own twist and is fun. So far puzzles are fairly easy. Don't expect the most challenging game you have tried. Just enjoy all that it has to offer.

You are living in a repressive dystopian world where you are forced to take a job as caretaker and spy on the tenants of a building. It is a point and click game which makes you move around and interact with different objects and characters. Like some of the older games. You do get a lot of hints so it is not as difficult. You keep getting new govt directives which sometimes are rather close to the truth.
Figures are all black with some small detail to give them some humanity. I thought the choice of these figures was in keeping with the theme of the game.
The setting is dark and bleak yes, but is part of this world. There is a multilevel building with apartments you must search when they are vacant. You will have all sorts of bells and whistles to keep you informed, hold items you find and purchase (or steal). I have a touch laptop and moving around was great fun. Just pulled the screen around. You can also use the WASD keys or the mouse.
I agree with the previous reviewer that this will not be everyone's cup of tea. If you like a thoughtful decision making game with enough action to keep you going then you will love it. I also suspect that your decisions can make outcomes change. I look forward to playing the scene again to try it.
My only criticism is that some of the areas are a little too dark. I would like to see items better even the ones that are not used.
Try this out before you purchase to make sure it is for you.

I had played a little of the demo and then never purchased until I had to use up a credit. Wow! What a bargain. Loved the unusual story and the off beat scenery. Thought the voices were quite good-better than most. The music was varied and fit the narrative. A couple of scenes looked familiar to me, especially the scene with Sebastian in the water tank but it was not a distraction. Not too many HOS. LOTS of fun games. Wish you had the opportunity to replay them without going through the whole game. Main con would be that I thought the graphics lacked real impact sometimes and were occasionally obscure. Game is long and you are constantly finding new parts of the mansion which keeps things interesting. Interactive map but not too much back and forth.
