This game is from 2017 and is a Domini game. Before they started their "every task is the same" routine. It has a dark aspect to it, but it's a very good game. You'll really need to hunt for those tarot cards. I found them very hard to see. HOS are great as are the puzzles. The story is immersive and not simply a whole lot of running around getting nowhere. If you haven't played this or any of the older games in this series, give them a try. They're good.
So, this must be Domini's 4th or 5th new series in the past month or 2. This one takes the cake and not in a good way. I am currently playing an old Domini game (Mystery Tale), and the difference is like night and day. There is no story to speak of. How can there be a story when you spend the entire game looking for a fan to disperse the smoke, or a magnet to open the drawer? That's not a story. Absolutely zero challenge involved. A 5 year old can play this easily. There is nothing, and i do mean NOTHING, different about this game compared to the last 20 they released. Does Domini read these reviews? I'd think not or something would have changed. this is a no buy for me and I do not recommend.
It may not exactly be a Christmas game, but it is a Christmas season game. For me, this one outdid the other 2 which were recently put out by other developers. I found this bright and cheery and very interesting to play. The puzzles and game itself were on the easy side but that is OK for a seasonal game. The HOS were a bit different and I enjoyed them. I was NOT fixing steaming pipes, smoking pipes, missing books, using my magnetism to open drawers. That was a relief. I'd take this FF game over the bland every game is the same developer any day.
This is game 2 in the Wanderlust series. Definitely not as good as the first game. A lot of annoying chatter by very unlikable characters. The daughter, who is grown, is an awful whiny person. The mother is very odd. Not sure what to make of the rest of the bunch. The game took me awhile to get into, but eventually I liked it and it was quite a nice long game. I suggest you play the demo. See how you feel.
This game is 3 years old, but I just now played it. I am not usually a fan of Mad Head games in general, so I let it sit and sit and sit. It took me awhile to get into this story as archaeology isn't my forte, but the game took off and ended up being very good. I didn't get the CE since I wasn't sure I'd like the game at all. I regret now not buying the CE. Mad Head always has great morphs and collectibles. If you haven't played this yet, give it a try. I had bought the whole series, so I am on to the next one.
This is an improvement over games we have been getting lately. I thought it started out well but then became tedious. There was just too much storyline, if that's possible. The map for me did not work properly. I think it's more of a personal dislike of putting machinery together etc. The bonus game I could have skipped totally, that's just how bad it was. I do give granny props for putting out a game with substance although it wasn't for me.
This started out very slow for me, and I wasn't sure I was going to keep playing. It does pick up a bit after the demo. For those having issues with freezing, try playing without special features checked... it helps mine run better. Elephant games always run poorly on my computer unless I uncheck that box. I thought the game was super easy but that's ok for a christmas game. I didn't care for the bonus chapter at all. I look back at the first Christmas game by Elephant, and it was a work of art. Now we get a very short story without much depth at all. I recommend you try it as you may or may not like this.
Well, Domini has failed their once a year assignment in making a Christmas game. This is the same as every single game they produce. How many steamy pipes and smoke must we fan away? Domini is the smokiest place I've ever seen. Others have described the game. I'm not seeing the 5 star reviews. No matter how far I stretch it. Try the demo. This is not for me. I do not recommend.
It seems we are down to a few developers, Domini being one of them. You can play one and you've played them all except if you are playing one of their older games. It seems they are changing the game style so it's compatible with mobile devices. Which means super easy and dumbed down. You literally play the entire game looking for an object to open an object to use it on another object. Gone is the suspense, the story, the excitement of games of the past. The ones where you finished playing and said "wow that was good". Not an ounce of brain power since goodness forbid we go to more than 3 rooms before that area is finished. I suggest you break out the list of HOPA and find some from back in the day for any type of game excitement or challenge. I will not recommend this game.
I've been playing this series, since I never played it when it first came out. This one is definitely my favorite. It is challenging and interesting. Not the same old same old. It was a longer game but the bonus chapter was fairly short. It does have 2 collecibles to find in each scene. I'm really enjoying this series. If you haven't tried it, give it a whirl.
