This is the 3rd game in the Dark Dimensions series. We had fog, then wax, now ash. Game ran fine. HOS are ok-no misclick penalty and some variations. Puzzles were poorly described as far as directions. Music and VO were fine. Picture was kind of grainy-- I guess you'd call it. Wasn't sure if they were going for the ashy look :) The cursor always seemed a bit "off". Had a wide pixel area. You are set out to save the town that was turned to ash. Sadly, this turns out to be quite easy. The game has absolutely NO challenge at all. You find a hammer next to you, use the hammer in front of you, etc etc. There is a jump map which is small but fast. You also have a journal. The hint recharges quickly, although you probably won't need it. I've read reviews of the completed game. With the CE, the game totals 3.5 hours. So NOT CE material developers !!!!! Even as an SE, NO. I'm passing on this one due to the simplistic nature of the game and and length. A beginner could play this game and think it were easy.
I don't recommend this game.

Your sister has sold her soul and youth to the wicked witch to cure you of your sickness. Now that you are all better, you hop out of your sick bed to find your sister. This is a brightly colored fairy tale game. There are achievements galore, bonus play, wallpaper, collectibles in the form of golden nuts, etc. Very nice for a CE. The puzzles I came across in the demo were simplistic. HOS are different... find items that go together, silhouette. You receive an amulet to collect powers to help fight evil fog, etc. The hint, in casual, recharges quickly. There is a map, but I did not use it. You also have a journal. Apparently ERS is celebrating their 50th game. Kudos to them :) You also collect or meet cute little animals. Some you keep to help you, others you help and they leave. I am rating this game on the game itself. It is bright, cute music, cute animals, a typical fairy tale. Personally, I'm not a big fan of fairy tales or games by this developer. Besides for the HOS, which are different, you can insert different characters and basically have the same game over and over. But again, that's just my opinion. If you are a fan of fairy tales and talking animals, etc, I recommend this game. My forte are the dark, scary, mysterious games. Enjoy :)))

I remember playing the first Weather Lord, and disliking it greatly. It seems the developers did a major overhaul here. This is a builder-time management game. In addition to collecting resources, you can also use weather elements, such as sun, wind, rain, etc. to help grow your plants, clear fog, etc. There is a timer, however, you can keep playing past when the timer runs out. You are able to click ahead for tasks. The tutorial was sketchy at best. The goals for each level are not real clear... not all your goals for the entire level are seen when you first start a level. The graphics are ok, however, they could have made things a little bigger (and my eyesight is perfectly fine lol). It appears that there are 50 levels. For me, it was an ok game. Nothing earth shattering. I continue to wait for a good TM game that grabs my attention. This game however, will definitely please some TM fans.

For anyone who loves point and click games, this is a winner. A true adventure game, you won't find any HOS and will need to solve things on your own. One of my favorite large file games. This one has a demo, so do try it :)

A very different, enjoyable game. Not really able to classify it as a HO or adventure. More of a "quest". This is one you have to demo. I loved it and its' sequel.

Typical fairy tale game. Colors and graphics appeared washed out. Puzzles were not very challenging at all. Interesting were the 3 different types of HOS I came across. I believe they were this games saving grace along with some adventure. I must agree with reviewer Nilosh. I do not believe that every new game that comes out deserves 5 star ratings. This game in particular, for a CE, offered little bonus game play, no collectibles, and was short for a CE offering. A 5 star game, to me, is one that knocks me off my feet, is lengthy, offers a decent amount of bonus gameplay, and collectibles. I believe as frequent 5 star ratings increase amongst reviewers, developers are putting less effort into games. The puzzles should be challenging and the game should offer some sort of usage of the grey cells. Sadly, this game falls very short. To me, it is just another cookie cutter game and by no means rates 5 stars.
I don't recommend this game.

Although a short game, I totally enjoyed this one. Great story, good graphics, spooky atmosphere, lots to do. This game, have a feeling, is either a like it or hate it game, so do try the demo. More adventure than HOG. Awesome.

I just found this game, and totally enjoyed it. It is not a cookie-cutter HOS game. It is an adventure (lite) game, perfect for those who would like to try out this genre of game. The graphics are beautiful. No voice overs, just forest background noises. It is a great game to relax while playing, although it is not very easy. You will need to think. Puzzles I encountered were on the easy side. I highly recommend this for one who wants to veer away from typical HOS games and delve into the world of adventure.

Somehow, I stuck with this through the entire demo. I had very high hopes at the beginning of the game. Nice colors, nice choices of screen brightness, cursor, etc. Well, then the game started. And there it went downhill rapidly for me. You are playing as Vida, who is the destroyer of dark forces. You're moseying along, and your carriage crashes. Gasp. You happen to find a wereferret in a cage and you unfortunately unlock him. I say unfortunately, because he never shuts up. Between the two of you there is constant conversation, or if you mute, constant written dialogue. There is a journal, and a map. This map appears to be a jump map, although I didn't try it. However the map will tell you what you will find at each scene, which inventory items to use, etc. There were 2 choices of difficulty, and I chose easy, as I always do when trying a game. Perhaps of difficult, the map wouldnt be so handy? There are sparkles everywhere. All of this is ok. However, it is a HOS fiesta. There are HOS everywhere. For those who like almost exclusive HOG games, you may like this. The HOS were blurry with small objects. Many objects to find in each scene. No wonder they advertise that the game is 10 hours long. lol. The hint refills quickly. The wereferret is also your hint. Besides for all this is a lagging, and I do mean lagging, cursor. Trying to get into the inventory was a hit or miss. The cursor had to show back up first. This is a no go for me. Not only because of the lagging, but because of the HOS. I don't recommend this game. It needs some fixing.

Here we have a game where you and your sister (twins) apparently haven't seen each other since childhood ? What's up with that? Where have these people been ? Anyway, you keep having terrifying dreams about her safety, so you hop in your car after all these years and drive to her house, which is also you childhood home. There are 2 types of HOS.. list and silhouette. They are actually good and I'm not a big fan of HOS. There weren't too many. The games, puzzles were challenging and interesting. Graphics were ok. There are no voiceovers. There aren't many sounds at all, just some background music which makes for an oddly quiet game. The game itself ran smoothly without glitches. It is challenging with some unique uses for inventory items. I think it is a great SE from these developers (whom I haven't heard of before), but for me, the story or game didn't grab me. I will pass on this one until it is a DD or on sale. I do recommend it however, as this is just my personal taste. :)
