First off, this is a true Adventure Game. You will not find HOS or helping animals, or little fairies. With that said, it is a great adventure game for a beginner. It is not too difficult, although I did need the walkthrough at some points. It is on the shorter side, but for me that works fine. Not so long that I get bored with the game. The game runs fine on my computer. I am coming in very late with this review, and was lucky to see a very nice reviewer list it under his favorite games. I love when people include older games. It gives players a chance to try games they may have missed. The only bad reviews I see are from those who were thinking this was a HOG. BFG puts out very very few true adventure games. Us lovers of adventure games need our fun too :)
I recommend this game!
Set out with Bella in search of her brother through the pages of well-known novels and true stories.

My rating and review is based on the CE of this game. If this were offered as an SE, I'd probably give it one extra star. This is an extremely easy game. You only have 2 choices of play and with the harder one also comes the click penalty. The game is very child like and a non thinking game. It also, by no means, warrants being a CE. I will NOT buy a game for $7 more just to receive an ending to the game. The graphics did not bother me, as I have applauded games with worth graphics than this one. All in all I found it to be a flat game, maybe good for a beginner. As always, demo for yourself. You may enjoy it

This release by 8floor is different than the usual cookie cutter games they come out with. I like to have a game like this on my desk top, which can be played just for a little while without getting into a full blown HOPA game. I find this game relaxing and I love the little garden where you can put animals and things you earn. I play these pictogram games for fun. If I don't score gold, etc ., it's ok. It's just a mind relaxer. This one, the pictures when you're done with the puzzle, actually do look like something too!! I recommend this game and will play it on and off when I just need down time.

I liked this game. I think it could have been improved by making it either a HOG or an adventure game. Trying to combine the two in this particular game didn't work too well. However, I do like these little gems that pop up as stand alone SE games. There is a lot of traveling to do to find what you are looking for. It is a fairly easy game as far as adventure games go, but combining it into a HOPA makes it a good challenge. There are dark places in some areas and some items are small. However, I found the game to be very creepy with perfect ambient sounds and music. I only played the demo thus far, but enjoyed it. I love when something different than the usual "find the screwdriver", "unscrew the screws" is offered. I suggest you try the demo and see if it is a game you like. It took a bit into the demo for the game to start to flow and pick up speed (for me at least).
I recommend this game!

I will start by saying that I did not care for the previous 2 installments of this series. This game was much better than them, but still confusing as far as the storyline. The artwork was absolutely beautiful. Very creative artists over at that developer. Music was nice also. Not too much ambient background noise. I liked that the gameplay was more challenging than we have seen of late in other games. The mini games were cute and different. I did not care for the double HOS. I don't like HOS junk piles to begin with and having to do them twice was just annoying to me. The problem I found mostly is that the story is disjointed. Not cohesive. I felt lost about the why and who and what the entire time. I am a very story-driven gamer.... I need a good background story to enjoy the game (with the exception of TM games and some adventure games). This story did not grab me at all. Although I give it 3 stars for my preference, the developers did do an amazing job with the characters movements and facial expressions and artwork. I shall try again when it's released as an SE. I may change my mind then.

I played through the entire demo, although I wanted to quit within the first ten minutes. I thought the first Royal Detective was wonderful. This game leaves me shaking my head in wonderment. I'm not sure who this game is geared towards. It is SO easy, even on the most difficult mode, it's ridiculous. The mini games are pathetic. C'mon... a paint by number (that you don't even have to do anything but click to change the color?). The HOS were massive junk piles with a few interactive items thrown in. The character being named "Princess" was plain annoying (I know, picky, picky, but true). Not only do you get a jump map, your yawning skeleton hint button also transports you. No brain cells required. There are quite a few scenes that I felt I was looking at the same scene from the prequel to this game. The collectibles and achievements are not enough to warrant this game as a CE. It appears to be a very short game also. This is a no purchase for me in CE or SE form. I will support smaller developers who can at least put out a game with some challenge to it.
I don't recommend this game.
Professor Ashmore, the same man who so kindly took you in and raised you as his own has been murdered. It’s up to you to find out why, but are you prepared for what truths may be uncovered?

I totally enjoyed the trial for this game. Yes, the graphics were not top notch. However, I enjoyed the game play and the story line. There were a tad few too many HOS for my taste but with the morphing objects thrown in, they were interesting. The mini games were fine also. I do like that the developer put so many extras in this game. I enjoy these stand alone SE's. Loved the fact that there is a jump map if needed and achievements. Music was well done. Game played flawlessly for me.I'm not quite sure what "dated" means as far as other reviews go. No animal helpers? Straight HOS without interactions? I see top ranked developers come out with no lip movement, wooden characters, and simplistic gameplay and those games are raved over. We all have different tastes. I personally enjoy games from new developers that add something different to the everyday standard games we continuously see. Enjoy

I am in agreement with the lower ratings of the reviews here. This is a very lackluster game... dull, uninspiring, monotonous, and so predictable. It also reminds me of another of their games with the bull fight. I found the graphics dull and flat. No mouth movement. The usual puzzles and HOS. It does appear this game was thrown together. There is the same ERS music as usual. I am not a big fan of this developer's games to begin with. They are cookie cutter, throw them out as fast as they can type of games. There have been some excellent games lately by other developers, and this is a huge step back for ERS. I played through the entire monotonous demo, hoping for the end. The achievements and collectibles are not CE worthy. This game is not even worth an SE game to me. Definite pass. I'm sure there will be fans of this game and we all have different tastes. This is just not up my alley. Also, a big negative is that these points about mouth movement, same old music, etc., have been said again and again by many reviewers and the developers do nothing to change this. Time to get back in the game ERS.

This is quite a nice, if not busy, TM game. It's very different from the usual just "collect wood and food" games. You can change your character, collect artifacts, make potions, meet new people along the way and help them in their tasks. There IS a lot going on in the game. There is not a relaxed mode, however, you can keep playing after the timer runs out. The characters do NOT speak, thank heavens. This is a possible buy for me as I do love TM games and this one is quite refreshing.
I recommend this game!
Summer camp: a place for good memories, new experiences and… ghosts? Capture the spirit of a dead witch before she claims another victim!

I really enjoyed this one. I am a huge fan of stand alone SE releases and this one is no exception. I love the games by this developer. This is a bare bones game. You will not get any extras so to speak. However, it is basically a HOP driven game with some very easy puzzles and some adventure. A beginner would be very comfortable with this one. What pulled me in was the great story line. I love great spooky tales. The atmosphere is just right, dark, deserted camp, etc. This one gets the 4th star from me for the story itself. As far as graphics, visuals, voice overs (there are none), it would be a 3 star game. It is quite lengthy also. Give it a try, you may enjoy it.
