Loved this game. Your dad has gone missing on an expedition to "Cursed Island". When no one is able to reach his expedition, you set sail to find him. The graphics are a bit grainy, but they do fit the story. I love the sound effects and voice overs. Puzzles, for me, were difficult. There are collectible scarabs and plants. There are also "sticks" of air, fire, water, etc., you can use (sort of like an amulet) as needed. The HOS were not junk piles and were in list form. This is a great game and kudos to the developers for offering a great SE without all the usual purple/pinks./glittery/.bling, etc. I loved it.

Another in the Mystery of the Ancients series. I have liked the previous ones. The game has you going to see your BFF Kira on a warm day, when a blizzard is forecast. As soon as you get there, ice begins to cover everything and ice giants run rampant. Familiar theme as we have seen this in other games. Kira's husband runs off for help and you and Kira put together a mysterious amulet that her husband left for her. Alas, an ice giant carries her off too. Turns out her husband's father (your father-in-law, who presumably you've never met) is the king of the ice world or some such thing. Anyway.... the HOS are fun. They are puzzles within puzzles. The mini games are unique and also fun. I had absolutely no trouble with them, which means they are super super easy Game play is extremely linear and easy. There are a few collectible statues, and some hares to find, and usual in-game achievements. I don't think this merits a CE standing. Kira's voice is the most grating voice I've heard in a game in a long time. I'd say meant for beginners or someone who wants a very very easy game. However, the HOS and puzzles are fun. I'd recommend the SE unless the bonus chapter is something wonderful. I would have preferred a sunny setting with a nice tropical climate, as the game looks like what I've been seeing outside my window, however, no such luck. I did not run into any glitches or problems playing on Windows 7. Enjoy and wear your winter gear

Perhaps this game picks up after the trial period. I would certainly hope so. I loved this series... until this game. All the purples and blues in the graphics. The responses by the doctor drove me mad lol. The HOS were giant junk piles. The mini games were ok. Very easy though, even for me, who usually struggles with the puzzles. I needed to pick up an item 3 or 4 times before the cursor grabbed it. This got quite annoying after awhile. I saw nothing to "shiver" about. I did not bother to look at what my collectible pearls could buy nor did I look at the fish tank. I'll give this a retry when the the SE comes out. I must mourn the end of a great series now. :(

Others have described game play and puzzles, etc. I played through the demo and could not wait until it was finished. I don't think I've ever played such a disjointed story. I had no idea what was going on. Obviously (or I think) the main character was a man however, it says his mother, Goldilocks (umm ok) was killed by a bear 3 years ago and it shows this "man" being about 10 years old. Regardless of the make no sense story, there was nothing in the game that I did care for. I did not like the HOS nor the puzzles. This one is a pass. I don't even remember what I was collecting, although I do know there were morphing objects. Thiis game I cannot recommend.

enjoyed this game. Varied and fun HOS. The puzzles were difficult for me. I'm not a big fan of puzzles and there were quite a few in this game. Not very HOS heavy though. Colors were great. Voice overs were good, some emotion in there. I couldn't stop staring at the over the top breathing of the hotel owner LOL. Anyway, not as good as the first Mystery Tales, but a nice game. All the collectibles were very easy for me to spot. There were lots of components to the game, where you could travel to another world, find enough gems to fill your magic globe, then return to the "real world". You also get magic items. I only got the ice bucket in the demo. One complaint... the gameplay was very very simplistic. Developers need to realize that maybe one out of every three games , they could release a tough game, one that makes you think. Anyway, I recommend.

Based on the demo : I love Eipix games and this one is no exception. This is the 3rd in the " Sea of Lies" series. Colors are bright, graphics are good. Great background noises and appropriate music. HOS are interesting and varied. They kept my interest and I am not a big fan of HOS after HOS. This game had an appropriate amount. Puzzles were moderately difficult for me but they were fun. You have glass globes to collect and the regular in-game achievements. Lots of action going on trying to evacuate a town where a disease is spreading rapidly. While I loved the game, I'd say wait for the SE, unless the bonus chapter is something to really write home about. The globes were not that difficult to find and the achievements are your standard achievements. I'd recommend the SE.

Very similar to Sally's Spa. Colors were wonderful. Tutorial was thorough. Old school style TM game... serve customers, upgrade shop, etc. Ran perfectly on my computer. This was a fun game. So nice to see a TM game that's not a building type game. Nice cheerful music. I recommend if you like TM games :)
You take your sister to the circus. She is used as an assistant to the magician and is kidnapped by him. You need to save her. The colors were way too bright for a scary themed game. They were the usual ERS graphics... slightly blurred, grainy. The HOS were interactive, visited more than once. You do get a camera, and you can take photos. These photos reveal more about the magician's life. The mini games were standard fare. I didn't notice the music. There is a map, but either mine didn't work correctly or it does not transport. There is also a journal where your photos are kept and other information. Very very easy game. I did like the previous Twilight Phenomena games because they leaned more toward adventure. This one does lean in that direction, but I just could not get into the story. There are no mouth movements with the VO's. I personally don't like that feature. From what other reviewers said, the collectibles are in the bonus chapter. I have seen none throughout the entire demo. This is a pass for me based on the fact that the story bored me to tears and it did not pass for spooky at all (when it should have).
This was a very different game than the usual fairy, elf, portal, save the princess, etc., type of game we usually get. Lots of adventure, little HOS and puzzles, which I like. Kudos to the developer and I must say I would definitely look forward to seeing what they release next. My only complaint.. too easy. Otherwise, I totally enjoyed the demo. Wouldn't quite call this a CE, but it was a great game.
An amulet purchased in an antique shop has awakened an ancient and terrible evil. Help rescue your beloved and save mankind from the coming eternal frost!
We get so few of these bare-bones soft releases, and they are my favorite type of HO games. This one has a good story, good puzzles, and fairy decent HOS. It has the creep factor that I love in games. Graphics were good. No VO's but that was OK. This was a great playing, long game. No glitches or bugs. I would highly recommend.
