Elephant Game developers, I have to say that pennmom36 makes a good point about the meaning of Chimera. I think her argument is a valid one. You might argue, why all the fuss and that it's only a game, but facts are facts! Some gamers have higher standards and that's to be respected. So take that as constructive criticism. That aside, I have great respect for Elephant Games' developers and personally feel they have made some great strides and improvements in their games, up to this point. I actually like this game and for the better part am enjoying it quite immensely. It is a great mystery and adventure with a couple of drawbacks, but it's a very good game, nonetheless!
I think the storyline is a bit quirky but doable, and the game flow is much better than their past games but still needs some improvement. The graphics are really beautiful, wonderful voiceovers, cool special effects; a decent hint button and a great map. The minigames and puzzles are top shelf!
What I'm not crazy about is that in any particular scene it takes at least three objects to find in order to complete s specific task. Not a bad thing because it adds to the challenge if you want to call it that. There are wonderful moments in this game.
One other drawback is there are too many items in the inventory and some of them sit there a little too long for my taste. I guess that is part of the strategy.
I'm not sorry that I bought this SE version as opposed to the CE version. Sometimes the CE's offer to many things that are unnecessary. I'm nearing the end of this game so I'm basing my review now before I lose my train of thought. I do recommend this game but I suggest you try it out first.
Domini Games does not disappoint. This is my third game in a row this year that I decided to buy the game without hesitation regardless of whether the reviews are high or low. I love these developers! #1, the artwork is inviting and refreshing and always puts a smile on my face; #2, not once was I bored playing this game as the story and the tasks and the minigames had me engrossed the whole time, and #3, the minigames and interactive hidden object scenes were different compared to other cookie-cutter games I've played before. The flow was great and the game-play was well-organized.
I'm basing my review on a completed SE version of this game and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute. The storyline was wonderful; the artwork by these developers is one of the best around and the map and hint button were flawless.
Some of the tasks were easy-peasy, but let me tell you many were not and at the same time they were tedious and thought-provoking, which I like. This is a feel-good game with crisp, beautiful graphics and great voiceovers.
There is was one hidden object scene I thought was very cool in that there were objects you had to find among the cluttered items that were all over the place, but what was neat and different was that there were two lenses that you could click on which changed the color of the background and the items to a mix of bright oranges and/or vibrant blues when you clicked on one or the other. So cool!
I highly recommend this game. Try it out first if you wish. You won't be sorry, but we're all different so whatever floats your boat!
Certainly not the story you might think it is, but I thought it was pretty cool and different. I loved this game. I'm basing my review on the completion of this entire SE game. Though this game is indeed short, I loved everything about it and I'm a big fan of Domini Games. These developers are innovative and very clever and well-organized if I say so myself.
The graphics were gorgeous and the colors were beautiful and crisp, I was getting so tired of playing games with dreary, muddy, muted colors. This game was refreshing.
Cinderella was naughty and not very nice for sure. So if that turns you off, then don't bother getting the game. Try the demo, though. Adam, who she really digs is rather cute, too. Oh, that vixen Cinderella with all her potions and motives--oh well, Fairy Godmother was kinda' boring but effective. I will so NO more! Try the game or buy it. I loved it and to the developers, I commend you on a beautiful and intriguing game. I loved the voiceovers, the music, the artwork, the storyline. The only drawback was that it was rather a short game but still it was worth the buy for me.
The puzzles and minigames rocked! And the interactive, hidden object scenes were great! Depending on the level you chose, some of the instructions for the minigames were unclear, but I figured them out. The only drawback, though, was that the game was too short but still it was worth the buy for me. I definitely recommend it.
fromYou spin me right round, baby right round like a record, baby right round round round. (The Molly Ringwalds). That spinning room made me dizzy! LOL!
Great title for a game--MCF: Moth to a Flame! But Metallica's Moths into Flame, comes to my mind, which fits this rogue agent, who has gone over to the dark side. His very high IQ has made him less strong in common sense, perhaps? We play the Master Detective who must foil the plans of this embittered genius!
Sold your soul Built a higher wall Yesterday Now you’re thrown away Same rise and fall Who cares at all? Seduced by fame A moth into the flame
I've almost completed the Main Game of this CE version and I'm really digging it! EIPIX devs are ingenious and crazy and talented. Good flow to the game. Great storyline and voiceovers. Awsome grapics and music. Some items are difficult to decipher but the tasks and the mini-games are top shelf as usual. I'm rating this game 5-stars. This game may not be to everyone's liking but I highly recommend it, nevertheless!
I'm 3/4 in to this CE version of this game and I have to say though there are many negative reviews, out of all the EIPIX games, this is right up there with the Ravenhearst series. I don't think this game warrants a 5-star though. I'm usually pretty tough on these developers because I fell they could do a lot better, though they are great with the special effects and do have magical moments, too. I don't think I've ever rated their games a straight across the board 5 stars. Mainly because their games can be boring at times. I'm at the point where I'm starting to get bored and I just want to move on to the end!
I do like reading most of the reviews and especially take into account the negative comments because these reviewers are usually right about certain aspects of the game and I often agree with them. However, in this case, EIPIX has the best special effects, wonderful graphics, ingenious mini-games that are so cleverly done and they're different too, and so much fun to accomplish. A high-five to these developers for those reasons!
As for some of the illogical tasks, well, not too cool. Some weird objects to retrieve but somehow I've managed to complete the tasks, weird as they are! I usually customize my games--I don't like them too easy but I want that hint button there just in case. When there are scenes with no items to retrieve a sentence pops up such as: "I suppose I'd better move along!" That cracked me up! I think these developers have a great sense of humor.
There are hidden puzzle pieces you need to retrieve and I'm sure I've missed a few because there is quite a bit to do. I like that about EIPIX. HOS are pretty good but my favorite thing about this game are the mini-games. Storyline is okay. I'm kinda' glad that I'm holding out because of the thought-provoking mini-games. The graphics are top notch! The music is good. The flow is okay--it's better in this game than some of the others. You'll have a lot of items in your inventory, some of which won't be used right away, and that bugs me a little bit, to be honest but I'm coping with it.
I'm not sorry I bought this game and I do recommend it. Good job, EIPIX developers!
Step into the shoes of a Private investigator with short-term memory loss and uncover the shocking truth about his involvement with a serial killer called The Executioner.
Brave Giant, you crazy, kooky, clever devs! I've never heard of you before but I like your style! First off, the kitchen scene was such a pigsty and so was the bathroom that I got a little worried that I'd be playing through tons of filthy scenes, but not so. Alas, murder is not pretty and crime doesn't pay. I purchased the CE version and am almost finished with the Main Game. I must say I'm getting my money's worth!
I love the forensic feature--getting the fingerprints, hair samples, DNA samples, and whatnot. Additionally, you have all the morphing objects--hats and smoking pipes in the scenes, and in the hidden object scenes, too. The only negatives I have is I couldn't recognize what some of the items were but I managed to figure it out without any help. Also, when interrogating the woman, every time I'd click on that character she would repeat the same dialogue even after I found out what I needed.
Lots of logical and illogical tasks--some were very clever, and some were goofy. I'm trying my best not to forget the collectibles and the morphing objects because there is so much to do. My inventory is usually very full. I was able to get myself out of some wacky, goofy tight spots. LOL!
I'm giving this a four-star rating, which is a very good rating considering. The graphics (outside of the filth) were very good. Voiceovers were great. As for the music I haven't paid much attention to it because I've been too engrossed with the tasks at hand. The puzzles were pretty cool. Not that difficult. Interactive hidden object scenes are good.
I do recommend this game and am keeping an eye out on these devs!
So much to do in this great game. I loved, loved, loved playing Dark City Munich CE version. My review is based a completed game! Bravo, 4Friends Games Developers! Bravo! I got my eye on you guys and gals!
Werewolves, half human/half animal characters. and so much more and some humans who pretended to be werewolves. The storyline was really cool! I actually got all the stamps and coins and got all but three morphing objects which I was able to obtain after I played the Bonus Game. Some of the collectibles were challenging and some not. The morphing objects often gave me a run for my money. Speaking of money, I got a nice discount on this game. Thanks, Big Fish! I'm giving this innovative game 5 stars across the board.
I enjoyed the Storybook Hops; the evidence feature via the diary or journal was neat. We're to find the evidence but it's evaluated for you. Also, in the Bonus Game, you must decide what to do with the culprit, which I found interesting.
The flow was superb! The gameplay--snap on! The voiceovers were awesome; the graphics were, IMO, stunning. Loved the scenery; loved the attention to detail inside the buildings and outside. Just beautiful. Music/sound effects were great--unobtrusive. Storyline was cool! A wonderful array of tasks to do and not once was I bored. My kind of game. Not a whole lot of puzzles but what you're given is pretty decent. Do I recommend this game? You bet I do!
Nancy Drew: Ghost of Thornton Hall is challenging, however, I'm debating whether to unload the game or just keep it around until I feel like playing it to the end. I'm 2/3rds in to the game and I'm bored. I bought this game and should have played the demo. There's lots of dialogue; lots of written material to read; good clues and the game does make you think, and it makes you work, too. That's not a bad thing!
The graphics are dark, murky, and muddy and coming from outside and then to the mansion and to the cemetery and back again is frustrating to me. The flow? There is no flow! Gameplay? You're own your own except for the folks you come in contact with and your friends that you speak to on your cell phone to get some clues. I found a lot of clues and that was pretty cool.
It's not a bad game--I'm just not in the mood for it, and there should be no distractions, and I had some; but I'm completely turned off by the graphics. I still recommend the game because to each his/her own!
Big Fish, you outdid yourselves! This game is so much fun and flows like a river! As usual, I'll leave the details to those reviewers who take the time to do so and do it well. The gameplay is excellent as far as I'm concerned. To some the puzzles and mini-games may seem childish, but not to me. They are innovative, clever, creative and enjoyable to complete. The minigames within the hidden object scenes were awesome. Some were thought-provoking and some were easy. But the difference with this game is that IT IS DIFFERENT from other games I've played, and that's refreshing for a change. I think we need more developers to get on the band wagon and take some tips from these folks. They could learn a thing or two from them!
You will have to go back n' forth but I don't mind that as much because the flow is so great and the steps to take were logical. I looked forward to completing the tasks on hand. It's not a drudgery for me. There were some items that didn't appear to be what I thought they were but the whole point is to have fun, and Legacy: Witch Island 2 fit the bill for me.
The graphics are wonderful--visually sound--a nice balance of color; the music is great; voiceovers are good. I can't complain. Bravo, developers! I highly recommend this game!
The Sorbonne is magnificent but this game is not what I expected. I feel as though I've been playing forever, and I'm bored to tears. Too many artifacts, too many stones and skulls, and to be honest, I really want to see more of Paris. EIPIX graphics are usually tops, and though this game has some nice artwork, something is lacking.
The gameplay, the minigames are meh!!! The storyline is meh! The flow is not that great, in my opinion. This game just ain't cutting it for me! I like EIPIX but I expected so much more from them. I'm playing the CE version and hopefully, this game will get better, but at this point in time, I'm having doubts. Play the demo and decide for yourself. I still recommend it because its EIPIX.
