I'll get to the point: Wow, oh, wow, oh, wow! Awesome game! Logically sound and full of common sense tasks! Such beautiful sights and sounds! Ingenious game play. My only minor negative is though the VOS were very good, the speech was a bit slow with some of the actors, but you had the freedom to skip over it if you wanted, but I didn't. The intro reminded me of some of the famous, adventure-packed movie trailers. Loved this CE version. I played the main game under 3 hours and just finished the bonus game. It was not a long game at all, but it certainly had my attention from the get-go. The bonus game had an abrupt ending which seemed incomplete to me, but no matter, I enjoyed this game so much. You will have some inventory items that will linger for a time but we should be used to that by now. There are numerous achievements, unusual HOS and the puzzles, though not hard, were rather challenging! Many of the tasks were extremely fun to accomplish. What makes this game so successful, in my opinion, is the transporting map. You will be all over the place, to the forest, to the mountains, to the castle and back again, but that map was blessing to be sure! I never even looked at the Strategy Guide. Bravo to the developers on this one! It's a keeper!

Very good game flow, lots of HOS, numerous puzzles, storyline okay, VOS good! I played the SE version and found it to be too short. I liked the game but wasn't crazy in love with it. There are many achievements to accomplish, coins to collect, artifacts to collect; those were pretty cool! Very good graphics for such dismal scenes and storyline. As always the developers are very clever. Great jump-to map, good hint button. I give it a 3-1/2 to 4-star rating. The game is worth playing. I recommend it.

The developers outdid themselves on this one! The thought and effort put into this game is astronomical for its type. Very intelligent game! Mystifying, fun, exciting, and full of adventure. There are a ton of things to do. Collect 40 memos; make numerous potions to perform various tasks, and much more. I played the SE version. HOS are great and VOS are okay. Graphics were great for its type. Great transporter map and hint button. The puzzles weren't hard at all but fun. The game-play was fabulous and flowing. Lots of material to read or skip if you wish, but then you'd miss out on the story. I not only played the game but felt I read the whole 'novel.' My kind of game! I highly recommend it.

I enjoy reading both the positive and negative reviews and wanted to mention that for those reviewers who were not pleased with this game, I, too, have had the same frustrations with other games, so I understand how you feel and respect your opinions; but, for me, Dark Strokes was unlike any game I had ever played before. I bought the CE version from another source a couple of years ago and found that I was hooked the moment I started playing. It's one of my favorite games of all time! Awesome! I highly recommend this game.

You've heard of B movies; this is a B game or as some other reviewer mentioned, one of the low budget games but I give it an A or 5 stars even with the negatives. It may not have the esthetics of a Blue Team Game or Elephant Game, but it's no slouch, to say the least! I'm almost finished with this SE version and I love the challenges of the puzzles and the unique HOS, some of which have moving critters within the scenes and you had better be fast on the draw with your mouse! Cool! VOS are very good, but there is one actor that speaks soooo slowly that I've opted to read the text rather than wait for him to finish. In this case, I don't mind all the HOS as even though there are quite a bit, but I look forwarding in doing them. The developers knew what they were doing with this one! It's not a difficult game but unique and exciting; the gameplay has momentum which is a plus! Some scenes are dark but the activities and the fun things to do keep you busy and engrossed. I'm playing in advanced mode and having the time of my life. Bravo to the developers on this great game.
I'm in the minority who feels this way, but, to me, the game-play is choppy and boring. The developers did, indeed, put a lot of work into this CE version, but it's just not for me.Try the game anyway. I love the series but it's the same ol', same ol. I'm halfway through the game but will eventually complete it. I do love the cardinals very much and our lil' canine helper!

I'm grateful that we can express our opinions about our experiences with these games. And I'd like to mention that I appreciate the negative reviews just as much as the positive ones. Gives me an idea of what is in store. We're all different; with different tastes. But folks, this game bores me. I'm playing the CE version, and for me, it lacks a lot, I'm sorry to say. But I would never not recommend a game unless it was really, really bad. This is not a bad game. Obviously, I'm outnumbered by the positive reviews. There's lots to do in this game; good puzzles, loads of objects. Good music. VOS okay; the actors could speak a little faster!! You have a good hint button, transporting map, strategy guide, which I don't use but it's good to have in a crunch. To me, this series lacks direction and the game-play is choppy. After completing the 10th task (exaggeration) at the entrance when you're 6 scenes ahead then to realize, oh, there is still another task to complete at the entrance yet again! Come on, already! The flow just isn't there for me. But I will finish the game. I always do. I encourage others to try this game out.

I'm halfway through this CE and am really digging this game! It may not have the exquisite whistles and bells of a Blue Tea Game but certainly has a modest amount of its own. Lot of fun things to do and many of the reviewers have already pointed those out very well. I won't repeat the storyline, which I find very interesting; but I must write that the game-flow is excellent. Great transporter map, hint button and the puzzles are unique, the HOS are super cool--a wonderful variety of interactive HOS, which I love--silhouettes, regular objects, inserting objects to the scene from your inventory, find a number of same items, e.g., 10 mermaids. The items are smaller than what some of us may be used to with Elephant Games, Blue Tea Games, etc., but the items are not hard to find. Some of the puzzles are tedious and involved. Get's the ol' brain working! Love it! I had a little problem now and then with manipulating the mouse over a few objects--a minor glitch with their program. Speaking of objects, often times you will not be able to use it until you find yet another object related to that, and even then, you may have to find another to complete the task for said object. Lots of items, birds to find, and awards to achieve. The artwork is actually lovely; I very much love the scenes as well and there is quite a variety of places to accomplish your tasks. Music is great. VOS are good, and, of course, lots of text to help you along. Read your journal. So, yes, I'm really digging this game and I certainly recommend it. The developers did a splendid job with this game.

I bought the CE and you do get a lot for your money. This game was a bit redundant in some areas, but you can't beat the exquisite visuals, the sound effects. I personally loved the music. Of course, it is repetitive as in all of the Dark Parable series--same format, different story. The map just showed you where you were and objects that needed to be found, etc. The hint button pretty much lead you to where you needed to be if you used it for that; you had a guide which I didn't need. There were far too many HOGS, but again, I enjoyed the sound effects and the music in those scenes as I searched for each of the pieces to make them 'whole." Blue Tea should get rid of the Ambiance sounds all together, doesn't really fit the scenes. However, you have the option of turning that off, which I did. Puzzles were okay, not hard, but tedious as were the HOS. The developers as usual did a tremendous amount of work in this game. Blue Tea you need to incorporate a transporter map, less HOS and a better variety of puzzles. But I rate the graphics/artwork, sound effects for the HOS, music, and VOS/acting an A+++. I completed the morphing objects, etc. Completing the tasks were a lot of fun. I especially loved the bonus game with Tom Thumb and Rumpelstiltskin--a different take on the fairy tale. The bonus game, to me, was extremely clever, which ties in to how Sky Kingdom came to be. I definitely recommend this game.

I found this SE version of Witches' Legacy: Hunter and the Hunted to be amazingly fun to play. The artwork was wonderful; the graphics in the HOS were crisp and clear; the music was great; the VOS the same. You have a lil' companion who is impish and devilish-looking but he's a good soul and a very dexterous helper when needed. There's a great jump-to map, journal, hint button if needed. The puzzles were tedious but not hard, still they were fun. The HOS were interactive and clever. You could opt to play a match game in its stead. One particular hidden object scene was quite pleasant in that it had fruit, a bottle of wine, tomatoes, cooked pasta, salami. In the back of my mind, I thought, hmm, I'll bet there is a snake, or a bug, or a mouse etched somewhere in this scene, but not so. You'll come upon that same scene again to find other items. I gave this game a five-star rating for its intelligent script--yes, good vs. evil again, but that's pretty much the norm in most games. The game-flow was smooth. I did think that there were a few too many HOS, which will please those gamers who love them. I didn't get bored once either. I recommend this game.
