I really enjoy reading both the negative and positive reviews but I especially get a kick out of the negative reviewers' comments because I can often relate plus some of the comments make me laugh out loud! We all have likes and dislikes--that's what makes the world go around. But for me, I must report that I love, love, love this game. Mad Head Game developers, I commend you! You have created an ingenious game! The mini games are really thought-provoking and intelligent; the HOS are interactive and unusual, and the tasks are awesome. Good hint button; the map is fantastic! The story is great! This game is a winner in my opinion! There is so much to do and it's all fun stuff, too. The voice actors are excellent; the artwork is gorgeous, and the music is great! The moment I started playing the SE version I knew right away I'd love this game. I'm halfway through the game and usually like to give a review when I've completed it but I just couldn't wait because of my excitement of wanting to inform gamers to try it out. Buy it! I've never beta tested a game as I rely pretty much on the reviewers' comments and then with the great discounts from Big Fish, I just end up buying them. I thoroughly enjoyed helping Bill, who's my brother in the story, find the blueprint to repair the glider--that was awesome! I enjoyed finding the octopus torso and tentacles and then having to position it properly to fit the slot in the bookcase. One favorite task was having to pick a lock. I've done those before but this is somewhat different--rather unique and fun to do. I highly recommend this game. This is my kinda' game!

Honestly, this game by ERS just ain't cuttin' it for me. It's taking all my motivation and strength to finish it. I bought the CE edition and I'm almost finished the main game and I'm dragging my feet here! I've played two other Grim Façade games that were better than this one. Yes, this game is violent but I've seen worse on TV. The game started out pretty good but it's quirky and some actions/tasks don't even make any sense period! It's as of along the way the developers ran out of steam and ideas and came up with this spotty, quirky game. There were several clever tasks that I liked but those were far and few between. The Darth Vader wannabe with the hoodie annoyed me and so I often skipped his dialect or muted the guy! Sorry! The graphics were okay but not great; the HOS were grainy and at times I couldn't make out what the objects were. I feel the ERS quality suffered a bit in this game. I don't mean to be cruel but I just didn't like this game. However, contrary to my negative review, I still recommend it because other gamers need to try it out and draw their own conclusions.
I recommend this game!

I played the SE game in its entirety. Not a real long game but long enough and I played in advanced mode. I, too, am tired of the occult themes and I know the developers can do better with the storylines if they really try. But I thought about all the work they put into these games. Elephant Games has a great crew working for them. However, the endings, whether SE or CE, always seem to be a letdown to me--so abrupt. But I must admit, the variety of tasks to complete actually saved this game for me. The embedded puzzles where about my favorite, and I also loved hooking the fish as the frog tries to prevent you from doing so. Elephant developers are very clever and they didn't disappoint on this one. The voiceovers, the graphics, the music were wonderful. The map was good and if you hang in there with the game, who knows, you just may exonerate your Aunt Gray! The variety of things to do are intriguing. Some puzzles were very easy and some were rather tricky. And I enjoyed the variety of interactive HOS. Not boring at all! Lots of fun! Aside from the occult, this was a great game. I recommend it.

I played Labyrinths of the World: Forbidden Muse Collector's Edition in its entirety and found it to be amusing and a lot of fun. Harlequin, the Barbie Doll helper, often got bored but you had to dress her in various costumes to help retrieve items or complete a certain task. Also, you had to make sure your amulet was charged to go through obstacles along the way. This game had some inconsistencies throughout but I really liked it. I was impressed with the artwork, the variety of beautiful birds, the concept and flow of the game. Many of the puzzles were challenging and some elementary. Even though there was a strategy guide and hint hint button, on a couple of occasions, I used the skip button. Some of the puzzles are hit or miss types. As the 'detective' finding the objects and completing the tasks were loads of fun for me. The graphics were beautiful and the music unobtrusive. The HOS were pretty cool and interesting; and you could switch to a match 3 game, which honestly wasn't needed because I tried playing it and with all my matches not one item in the inventory was eliminated--so that was one of the quirks. Also, there is a scene where you must rescue a photographer, who was pushed into a pond. She pronounces the word specialty as speciality, emphasis on ality. It just stood out like a sore thumb. LOL! I liked collecting the olives and coins where you could decorate your Boudoir with the bought items. I enjoyed this game and commend the developers, and would recommend it.

I'm nearing the end of the SE version of Grim Tales: Color of Fright. There are no levels of play in this game; no sparkles as some games will have, although in other games if the option is there I usually customize my games w/o the sparkles. There is a good but not perfect map--some items that I know were active in other areas were not marked as such. You have a good hint button if needed. The only thing is this is not a game for people who like order. Your tasks are scattered all over the place. You need to be patient; pay attention; read the texts, notes, and diary. Go to your map! In some scenes you will be moving virtually from left to center to right and back again via an arrow. This game is very thought-provoking and can be overwhelming at times but it is most challenging, too. Very innovative tasks to complete! I loved that! You will have some items in your inventory that won't be used for a while. There should be no distractions while playing this game. It's not your cutesy, kick your shoes off, casual kind of game either. In my opinion, it's not really difficult but very detailed oriented. The mini-games are awesome; the HOS are interactions within interactions! Then you have your color palette tasks--connect the dots; paint by symbols with your color palette, etc. From that game you will have formed a very useful object/figure that can be used elsewhere. Graphics were amazing; voiceovers, save but a couple, were great! Grim Tales is a great series and the Elephant Game developers deserve high praise on this one. I would have given this game a 5-star but there are some quirks such as there is no rhyme to some of the tasks' meaning. One character along the way needs DIRE saving but she has a key to give you to open an object to save yet another character. I thought, 'Hey, lady, I'll take care of him after I save you first! Such is not the case here; that's where my frustration comes in to play as I want to save the one who needs it the most especially when you're being prompted to save her/him ASAP! I give this game 4 1/2 stars out of 5 but there is no rating system at Big Fish for 1/2 stars. Anyway, kudos to Elephant Games on this one! I very much recommend this game!
I recommend this game!

Pretty much the same old, same old. I played the CE version in its entirety. Some of the facts didn't jive for the time period, but it is after all only a game. To me, the game was predictable and I started to get a little bored after a while but that doesn't mean to say it wasn't a good game. Not at all! Although this series is rather good I wasn't wowed by this game. I expected much more I think. I really liked playing the Bonus Chapter, though. Once again in order to access the tunnels you need to find your access cards; you had morphing objects and collectibles which were fun to locate; lots of objects to find. The characters were great. Some very clever puzzles, a good jump-to map, a hint button if you needed it and a strategy guide. The voiceovers were great. Cut scenes were real good; neat graphics--but I don't think this game warrants a 5-star to be honest. However, you do get a lot for your money so I definitely recommend it.

I was determined not to let my own fears stop me from saving my daughter!! Way to go Daily Magic and BigFish! Way to go! What a ride that was. So much to do and the puzzles, oh the puzzles. I skipped a couple not because they are difficult but because I lost patience with some of them. Not a hard game at all but tedious and very clever tasks to complete. I played the SE version. Great hidden object scenes and collecting all the mazes was fun. The 12 fears amulet was awesome! As I conquered one fear after another with my daughter right by my fingertips and hanging by a thread and to have her taken once again by another fear was a bit distressing, regardless if you're a mother or father or anyone, to see your loved one in danger can get your adrenaline flowing, and man o' man, my motherly instinct kicked in like a mama bear protecting her cub! Even though, in this case, I was the dad saving my daughter, Amber. I was also concerned for another key character in this story, Marissa who you will learn about. What a great game! Loved it! I wasn't too keen on the match game because that option takes longer to complete and I was engrossed in the gameplay and enjoyed the interactive HOS. But you do have that option if you are akin to match games. Also, the music and voiceovers were great! I liked the thought that was put into this game. Intriguing, nail-biting and a roller-coaster ride of fun. Either I'm getting better at these games or they are becoming shorter but no matter, the principle of the thing is if you like intrigue and lots to do, you will love this game. I highly recommend it!

ERS, I applaud you! Haunted Legends: The Dark Wishes, (SE version), was really a delightful game!. It wasn't a difficult game but the puzzles were tedious enough and it took patience on my part to want to complete them because I wanted to get back to the game, but obviously these puzzles are part of the game's equation. I don't play in casual mode any longer but you have the option to play a more difficult level if you wish. I'm giving this a 5-star because it was cleverly developed and lots of fun. The only negative I have is that the dialogue was a bit too long for my taste. But it still warrants a 5-star in my opinion. It's a great game for its genre. Each of the Fates had far too much dialogue, but I read the text faster than their spoken words and continued on to the next task. Ironically, the lil' man wasn't much of a talker! The voiceovers were good. The tasks were really cool. The artistry was awesome as usual for ERS. The variety of interactive hidden objects were awesome! The music, sound effects were great! I enjoyed all the tasks and I liked the fact that the items in the inventory were pretty much used right away. I loved being the "Smithie" of the moment! As for the storyline, okay, so it's good vs. evil again. There's no getting away from it unless the developers decide to kill off this deadly dude for good, and I mean for good or turn him into a good guy after all! I guess that would be too corny for some hardcore gamers! But this is a great game to just chill and have fun! A great stress buster! I highly recommend this game for all levels! Kick back and relax!!

My rating is based on the completed SE version. Talk about murder mayhem! Vengeance is the key word here, folks! I felt as though I was watching a great murder mystery on Masterpiece Theatre. Also, Birdie, the widow, resembles a well-known, British actress. The voiceovers were good, and I loved the challenging puzzles, and, of course, the storyline. Unless I missed it in the credits, Birdie's voiceover was not mentioned. The game flow was awesome. The map was great, and there was a decent hint button if needed. Though this game didn't have all the whistles and bells, it had a lot of variety and balance that I expect in a game. I was totally engrossed in this game. BigFish devs are to be commended! I thoroughly enjoyed this mystery game--my first actually. I highly recommend this game!

That always slays me when I see that or the expression used in a lot of other games such as, "There's nothing to do here at this location' or something to that effect. No map but a hint button to use if you need to know where to go next. Very challenging game because of the various objects that you need to find, e.g., in scene one you will complete a task which needs another object or two to complete which you might finally find in scene five. I'm more than half-way through this standard edition game. There are many items you will click on that will move but that's all it does. I guess it's all for effect. Still very, very challenging game if you like that sort of thing. You'll be all over the place and back again. But the beauty of it all is it will end. Frustrating as it is the artwork is pretty cool, lots of demons again, ho-hum, and good music and sound effects. No voiceovers. You have to save your sister before it's too late! I like saving people and animals! I recommend this game. Be patient and go with the flow.
