this is a little gem of a game - although not a ce version there are still objects that you have to find.
the map is great the storyline is creative and very good the characters are good
i replayed it because i am sick of the games of 2023 era - same old same old. this was a long game (not sure how long because i didn't take notice of the time but approx 4 1/2 hrs).
i am in two minds whether this is an adventure game or a hidden object because it has both. i liked that when there were hidden objects you actually had to do something with the items to get an item. So much better than games of 2023 where you just do hidden objects for the sake of it.
for the past 10+ years i have just done hidden object games but because they are so boring and same old same old i have branched out to "adventure" games and although i purchased this in 2016 and played it then - replaying was very enjoyable.
i really liked the fact that the man was human - instead of cartoon or similar.
the story line was good - it had several challengers and some of the puzzles made you think others were easy but enjoyable.
try before you buy - happy gaming :)
I recommend this game!

what a wonderful game - produced 2011 - purchased 2023
i have just started to play "adventure" games since 2012 i have only played hidden object games but am sick of the same old same old so i decided to try something else and this game is fantastic - even if a little "thinking cap time needed". i read a review that it remindered the reviewer of Facility 47 and i had played that so i decided to give it a go.
i played the first chapter as a demo - loved it and purchase chapters 2 and 3 without playing. although in needed the walkthrough to get through them (because i am use to hidden object games were you do this first and then that) i learn quickly that it really doesn't matter what order you do things in.
i played all three chapters - approx 5 1/2 hrs each (so much longer than games these days) and i just needed to know how it ended but i will go back and play them all over again taking my time since i now know (or i hope i know) how "adventure games" work.
the developers are fantastic - the puzzels were for the most on the "can do this side" however there were a couple of puzzels that did my head in - but on the second go around i will attempt to do then all without skipping.
overall i think you need to start with chapter 1 to know what is happening in this story. the story stayed true to the characters. i loved the main characters voice it was smoothing and clear.

loved this game - might be an old one but it is better than the latest coming from Big Fish - created 2012 - purchased 2023
the visuals are excellent the storyline is creative the map is fantastic (even better then current maps in games) the game play is LONG the developers took the time with this game
it was enjoyable from the time that i played the demo to the purchase - approx 5 minutes in the demo and then purchased immediately.
i don't normally purchase games this old but i am sick of the latest games coming out - same old same old so i relented and played (and purchased this game) and i was so pleased that i did.
it has everything (as described above) and more - i particularly liked the long game play - now days games usually last 2 - 3 hours - this was definitely longer (although i didn't actually take a note of how long it took me to complete.
i loved this game - it was true to the Dark City series which was great. Love Agatha but missed Felix (the cat).
the puzzles were fantastic - loved the handcuffs and that the police person had to wait until a task completed. Loved the evidence collecting the map and the putting of animals back. Although some of the other puzzles i have seen before there were a couple with different twists.
the hidden objects were interesting and varied.
it was a reasonable long game - took me 4 hrs (on SE version). i have a feeling that older games are definitely longer games.
definitely true to the series and a great addition to my collection of Dark City.

Bridge to Another World: The Others Collector's Edition
Find the cure to save your brother from the Others.
i purchased this game in 2019 and have played in a number of times but as there isn't much available (worthy of money nor time) from games in 2022 i am replaying my old games.
this game lives up to the expectations of Bridge to Another World - i loved everything about it - the characters - the storyline and the adventure. Particularly the toll.
the puzzles were varied and although this is an older game you can tell where the (today) developers have taken the puzzles from.
the hidden objects were varied.
this is a very long game (sorry didn't take notice of when started and what finished) but it took me a good part of 2 days playing. Unlike the games in 2022 where a ce version will last 4 hrs in this game the main chapter took sooo much longer. Definitely value for money.

Committed: Mystery at Shady Pines
Escape from Shady Pines and save the other patients! Explore the mysterious hospital and stop the psychotic doctor!
I found this game on one of Big Fish Top Rated Games and purchased before the demo finished the time allowed.
It was long - 6.31 minutes play time. (Developers please note this is value for money - not the minimal time of 3 hrs which are generally games in 2022
Although i don't usually purchase old games (previously 2016 was my limit) because of the games being produced today (2022) which are all the same old same old - i decided to purchase this game and so pleased that i did.
The difference between now and then game is:
the hidden objects were much better - they take up all the screen, they are a challenge to find and there is a help.
the storyline was excellent
the puzzles were varied and intriguing
and the game was long even for a SE.
and the final bonus is that there is a walkthrough available.
My dream is that todays developers look at some of these older games and get some hint on how to develop a great interesting long game that keeps you going.
I am definately going to look at some more of these types of games.
