Review based on one and a half hours of game play because I could not tolerate the "that only happens in movies", "I could sure use a tool right about now", the music and the absence of animation/vos. Tedious, boring and annoying. Not a game for me.
Explore the vastness of a ship lost in time, what mysteries will you uncover amidst its Mayan idols, menacing sea creatures, and exotic treasures? Find out in this exciting new Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure game on the open seas!
Review on completion of full game. Storyline - Free lost souls on a deserted ship. IHOS - Repeated, clear in some scenes, gray in others, small objects were no problem for me because the game filled my pc screen. In each IHOS, you'll see a glowing artifact and out pops a hummingbird. Found out it's just a little extra and has no real signifigance to the story when you click on it. You have the option to switch to Mahjong if you'd rather not play the IHOS. Misclick Penalty - None Hint - Recharges quickly, gives clues and acts as a guide. Map - Does transport to locations marked with an exclamation point. I used the hint button for guidance. Journal - Lists Mayan history and why the captain and crew met their demise. Also lists items and info found. Puzzles/Mini-Games - Challenging and unusual. More IHOS then puzzles. Animation/VOS - Excellent Must collect pieces to complete the Mayan calendar and a glowing artifact which tells the history of the ship. Inventory - Items used quickly in other locations. Lots of back tracking involved. Suppose if you stick to the map, it might be easier. I chose to use the hint button. Judging from the ending, I feel a sequel is in the works. Give it a try and enjoy.
I could only play about 15 to 30 minutes of this game then I called it quits. The VOS were good, animation just wasn't there for me. Didn't fill my screen and I had side black bars as well as top and bottom. Never had this problem with other games. Too much going back and forth. Not my kind of game.
Tried playing this game two nights in a row to give it a second chance. Just couldn't get into it. Grew tired of the hint button repeatedly stating nothing to do here now. Kept going around in circles. Animation/VOs were few and far between. IHOS weren't bad, the usual fare of small items. Hint recharged quickly. Had inventory items I didn't know what to do with. Rather tedious and boring.
Storyline - You are a physician called to a hotel to help a patient. Seems simple enough until it goes horribly wrong. HOS - Find objects and place in circles to obtain another item. Usually don't like this type of HOS (prefer a list) but it was time for a change. LOL Really enjoyed it. Fairly clear, some small items, repeated scenes. Journal - Lists notes, tasks and guests staying in hotel. Map - Does not transport. Be prepared to do a bit of back tracking. Puzzles/Mini-Games - Various levels of difficulty. Some did not have instructions; trial and error. Skip - Slow to charge. Avatars/VOS - Excellent! Graphics - Well drawn, especially the snow. Even made me shiver. LOL Did not notice any dark areas even in the HOS. Misclick Penalty - Drops of water appear on screen for a second. Hint - Recharges fairly quickly and acts as a guide. Wolf howls when you click on the hint button. Became annoying so I lowered the volume. A great story with a surprise ending. Buy and enjoy!!
Didn't get too far into this game when I realized I had played it before on a CD. This is strictly an HOS, objects are very small and well concealed. I played this game (and E.A. - La Jangada) at a time when I was a newbie to HOS. My tastes have changed since then. Much too tedious.
This game truly was a gift to me. Review based on full game play. You are Sarah, a young woman with paranormal abilities. Animation/VOS - Good - More to me like avatars. IHOS - Clear, some small objects. Could have done without the "ahhh" each time an item was found. :-D Be sure to scan areas outside of IHOS. Misclick Penalty - Screen resembles a tv set losing focus for a second. Hint - Quick recharge, gives clues and acts as a guide. Inventory - Items used quickly in various locations. While hint is recharging, if you click on it, a female voice whispers something but I couldn't understand what she was saying. Puzzles/Mini-Games - Not as many as some players would like but challenging all the same. Seems to be more IHOS. For those of you who enjoy the paranormal, then this is the game for you. Buy and enjoy!!!
This review is based on 15 minutes of game play in the one hour trial version. I wanted to purchase this game and would have in a heartbeat IF there had been ANIMATION AND VOS. I would prefer to hear dialog rather than read. Storyline was excellent and I was anxious to learn about the Twilight School. Characters were beautifully drawn. Pity they didn't move and were silent. Too much reading. HOS were good and hint recharged quickly. If the devs could revamp this game or release another version with animation and vos, it would be a buy for me.
I don't recommend this game.

Murder, She Wrote 2: Return to Cabot Cove
Take on the role of beloved murder-mystery writer Jessica Fletcher and return to lovely (but lethal) Cabot Cove!
The storylines in each novel were very good indeed. My only complaint is I would have preferred more animation and vos. The text appearing at the top of the screen could have been spoken and the characters were a little wooden. HOS - Fairly clear but some very tiny items. Must collect typewriter keys. Repeated scenes. Inventory - Objects used fairly quickly in other locations. Hint - Moderate recharge and acts as guide. Journal - Lists objectives and clues. Misclick Penalty - None Puzzles/Mini-Games - Usual fare but there were a few I've never played before. Jessica Fletcher at her best!!
Storyline - There has been a series of murders and your daughter goes missing so you join forces with the detective to find her and the killer. Avatars/VOS - Excellent IHOS - Repeated, fairly clear with small objects that require a magnifying glass. A few hos required puzzle interaction which I found annoying and became frustrated with it. Glad for the hint button. Puzzles within the hos cannot be skipped so I had to go into the guide just to solve a hos puzzle. ARGH! Too much stress for me to be enjoyable. Hint - Recharges quickly and guides you to each location Misclick Penalty - None Puzzles/Mini Games - Usual variety of levels from difficult to easy for experts. I skipped just about all of them. Inventory - Objects collected used quickly in various locations Map - Does not transport Bonus Game - Played part of it but could not continue This game annoyed me in many ways despite my favorites - avatars/vos/storyline. Too many areas to search, too many keys and puzzle parts to find. Parts are located in different areas. Wish the devs would allow all items needed to complete a puzzle to be found in one place so there wouldn't be so much back tracking. Enjoyed the humor between the detective and the officer. This game reminded me of a Sherlock Holmes mystery in some ways. I found it to be too long and thought it would never end. I prefer shorter games which gives me the opportunity to start a new game. LOL For gamers who want a real challenge, then this is the game for you. Need to start a new, shorter game to decompress from this one. :-D
