I love the fresh new puzzle ideas that Joe has come up with. There are no ordinary jigsaw puzzles offered in this unusual game, and I will admit, some of these puzzles will drive you bonkers. There are Slider puzzles, Stretches, Squares, Jigsaw Mirrors, Kaleidoscopes, Black and Whites, Fuzzies, Pixalates, Horizontal, Vertical, Both Horizontal and Verticals, Ones and Two's Insanity and Freestyle Puzzles to choose from which adds up to a whole lot of fun. One of my personal favorites was where you have to place picture shapes of different colors similar to tetris pieces, you don't have to rotate them but you do have to figure out the correct placements so all puzzle shapes fit. If you're a puzzle geek like myself this game will entertain you for days, enjoy!
I recommend this game!

Ignac is a well known alchemist and craftsman who has been secretly experimenting with clay and fire. He has been trying to breathe life into a Clayborne to protect the citizens of Prague. Something goes terribly wrong however, causing his creation to wreak havoc on the city, and the King to sign his death warrant! Ignac's daughter Ilona must search for the truth and discover her father's true intentions to save her father from certain death. Ilona stumbles onto evidence that could lead to the abolishment of alchemy altogether, as she discovers daunting evidence of foul play within the Order of Alchemy!
Although this story is eerily similar to the Royal Detective, Golems story, I found this game to be a well written and entertaining game, even if the storylines been presented in every way possible. The graphics are top notch and the puzzles are very clever. The Collector's Edition version has several Achievements to earn as well as 43 Hidden Fire Symbols to find. Some of the scenes have hidden pieces of Stone Plates that form Animal Alchemy symbols once all three fragments have been found.
The Hidden Object Scenes are varied and usually multi-layered, there are the usual types, Progressive Silhouetted Shape finds where you find the first item that matches the Silhouetted Shape and use that item in the scene interactively to expose the next item. There are also Listed items during a narrated story where you find items in Bold Print, Fragmented mirrors shards to find, and drawings that depict something missing or an object needed to achieve the end result. The Collector's Edition has an extra feature available within some of the HOP's, of a Morphing Object to find as indicated by a swirling icon. You can opt to play a game of Stepping Stones instead, a click and drag variation of a Match 3 game.
The Mini Games are quite decent, most of them are somewhat time consuming, but doable. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Open several doors to match identical pairs of cogs.
2) Select an image from the bottom of the screen, the sun and moon show how to set the hands of the clock on the top screen. Use the reference page to point hands to the correct zodiac symbols.
3) Move the buttons so the number match how many times the symbol is shown on a reference.
4) Turn the needle using arrows until only the three symbols indicated on the drawing are lit, then rotate the crystals to guide the light beam to the bottom.
5) Draw a Line that connects the starting point to each triangle with limited moves and without moving diagonally or crossing the same field.
The Collector's Edition has 43 Hidden Fire Symbols, 15 Morphing Objects within the HOP's, 20 replayable Puzzles, 15 replayable HOP's, replayable Skipping Stones games, a Souvenir Boat, 3 hidden Animal Alchemy Symbol stone plates for 8 different animals, 15 Videos, 9 Music Soundtracks, 8 Wallpapers, 8 Concept Art pictures, 14 Achievements to earn, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Adventure, enjoy!
I recommend this game!

Another Phantastic Phantasmat where a Wrong Turn leads you to a dilapidated gas station where "mother" runs the Psycho show. Baby Jeffrey has grown up to be quite a lady killer, literally, and it's tough to escape his maze of horrors because what Jeffrey wants, Jeffrey gets! This is one Fright Night you may not live to talk about, but then again, this is Phantasmat, a grey area somewhere between life and death!
It's no secret that this is my favorite series, I still love the original Phantasmat storyline the best, but wow, I love this sick twisted plot! Each scene has a Hidden Sign and there are plenty of Achievements to earn throughout Jeffery's Town of Lost Hope.
The Hidden Object Scenes are varied with several smaller Zoom Zone scenes with a handful of listed items to find, as well as several typical Phantasmat HOS where you find 5 items in two categories and then receive an item to use on the icons to expose a few interactive lists of items. There are progressive silhouetted shape finds and my favorite was searching for matching items by turning carousel shelves. You can opt for a Match 3 game instead of the HOP.
The Mini Games are not bad, but they do tend to be on the easy side during the demo, but like all Phantasmat games, they do get more challenging as the game progresses. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Move the tokens into the correct locks avoiding the rotating ornaments.
2) Place the numbers into the correct spaces on the clock using arrows and the center space to swap.
3) Interact with a Town layout as a story is told.
4) Connect wires of the same color by rotating circuits.
Activate the elevator by selecting knobs to change the electrical wiring values.
This Collector's Edition has 9 Music Soundtracks, 14 Videos, 8 Wallpapers, 8 Concept Art pictures, 12 Achievements, 13 replayable HOP's, 20 replayable Puzzles, replayable Match 3 games, a41 Hidden Signs, a Souvenir Room, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Adventure, Enjoy.......unless Jeffery gets you!
I recommend this game!

Seems these two little luvbugs have gotten themselves into a situation. This game challenges you to use the principles of magnetism, opposites attract and like charges repel, to allow the red and blue charges to meet together at the same time. There are red and blue batteries surrounding the charges, which are used to direct the charges around the board, collecting the 3 available stars and then to the bulb in the middle at the same time. You can replay the levels as often as you want to try to achieve a better score, and there are several Achievements to earn as well as collectible photos. Eventually you will apply tools such as insulators, conductors and lone charges as the levels get more difficult and complex as you progress. You can earn spins on the hint wheel and apply different apparel to the charges which consist of hairstyles, eyewear and costumes. I just found this game to be more frustrating than it's worth.
I don't recommend this game.

Those fairies are in trouble once again, and they need your help, one Match at a time! There are 3 different types of Match 3 games to choose from, or toggle back and forth if you want, there's the typical Swap Match 3, Chain Match 3 and even Group Match 3. Just like it's predecessor, you need to free all of the fairies trapped in bubbles by making matches of the resource shown next to each fairy. There are yellow tiles (soiled tiles) chains, poisoned tiles, oil tiles, rocks and even garbage to overcome.
You will collect Fairy Crystals by dropping them off the board, a different color for each of the fairies you meet, July, Leaf, Flame, and Purple. Once you have collected enough crystals, you can summon the fairies powers which will destroy some of the tiles for you. Beware, there are Zombie fairies as well that must have their demands met quickly or they will escape and soil tiles on the board!
After a few levels, you get to play a game of Higher/Lower Solitaire, which I think I actually enjoyed more than the Match 3 game. Enjoy!
I recommend this game!

The nominees for the prestigious Pride of Humanity award are all gathered together in a beautiful castle, making their final preparations for the upcoming events. A sudden storm wipes out the only road leading in or out of the property, and knocks out the electricity as well as all communications! (this scenario is flawed in oh so many ways, as you will notice) There's a storm brewing inside as well it would seem, not only are the nominees bitter rivals, but someone has been dealing some poetic justice to the contestants, one by one. First a poem about the attempted murder, then an attempt at murder, which is only thwarted by your quick wits and skills as a doctor. If you ask me, this would be the perfect way to cinch the award, after all, you are the hero each and every time!
The graphics are actually very good, and the characters are real actors, but there's just something about this game that's not exciting. Everything is predictable, and the games are too simple. There are plus sign inventory items requiring further action before the items can be used, and the Collector's Edition has the usual Achievements to earn as well as a hidden Morphing Invention Card in each scene which tells you about some of the early inventions that changed our lives forever.
The Hidden Object Scenes are just okay, mostly list finds with slight interactions or progressive silhouetted shape finds. I did enjoy the HOP where you had to click on morphing items when the item was in the correct form, but the morphs could have been slower to present more of a challenge.
The Mini Games are too simple in my opinion, although I don't necessarily want puzzles that make me want to pull my hair out from frustration, I do want puzzles that challenge me, at least a little bit. Below are brief descriptions of the Mini Games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Open a safe once you find the combination.
2) Examine Dr. Hopkins using the different medical instruments in your kit by selecting the instrument then where to use the instrument.
3) Change the pattern within the purple jar to match the pattern shown.
4) Arrange castle sections to match the picture shown by sliding parts along unblocked rails.
5) Press the compression button whenever the red line touches the green heartbeat, if you make 3 mistakes you'll have to start over.
6) Rotate the stained glass pieces until they match the colored outlines by rotating sections.
7) Use directional arrows to line up a crossbow and a fire button to shoot.
The Collector's Edition has 25 Hidden Morphing Invention Cards, 9 Concept Art pictures, 12 Achievements, Music Soundtracks, Videos, replayable Mini Games, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, but you cannot view most CE extras until you complete the main game.

Laura James is back, and just like the (censored) she's chasing, she hasn't aged a bit! Disguised as a journalist, she's so much more, an undercover agent for the secret society, The White Stone Order, and one tough lady! Professor Bishop has sent Laura to investigate the brutal murder of Carrie Martel, a widow who buried her famous lawyer husband just hours ago. Has Thomas returned to seek revenge, or is there a much more plausible theory?
New York Mysteries is known for its collections and The Lantern of Souls is no exception. There are 9 hidden Apples, 9 hidden Shields, 9 Music Symbols, and 9 hidden Miners. There are also 20 Achievements to earn and 35 Morphing Objects to find throughout the adventure, and a new feature of 16 collectible Fact Cards that give you fun facts about points of interest in New York.
The Hidden Object Scenes are scarce, with only 5 in the entire game, BUT, I promise you they will not disappoint you. These are extremely Interactive Progressive Silhouetted Shape Finds, with all kinds of gadgets to figure out and several smaller puzzles to solve within each HOP.
The Mini Games are really creative, however, several of them are just too simple to solve, my only complaint of this entire game. Below are brief descriptions of some of the Mini games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Rotate the arrow to set the correct sequence.
2) Select two symbols to create the symbols shown in the center.
3) Find pairs of taps that rotate at the same rate of speed.
4) Use a code to unlock a door.
5) Use the control buttons to help the mouse move a square to the designated spot.
6) Connect wires from left to right by following tangled leads.
This Collector's Edition has 9 Wallpapers, 16 Concept Art pictures, 26 Videos, 6 Music Soundtracks, 18 replayable Mini Games, 5 replayable Puzzles, 20 Achievements, 35 Hidden Collectibles, 16 collectible Fact Cards, 35 Morphing Objects, 20 Bonus Games, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy!

I've played some pretty bad Hidden Object game in my day, but this has got to be one of the most boring one's I've played in a long time. You are a journalist named Allie who is on assignment with photographer Shaun Preston in Aristo to cover the 13th birthday celebration of the Prince of Aristo. You are eager to get to work, Shaun is eager to do anything but work. The rest of the game is HO after HO, as you search for teeny tiny items strewn about the hotel lobby, the hotel hallways, pool and hotel rooms. They are just junk piles of garbage, broken bicycle seats, corndogs and ladders, none of which make sense, who's ever stayed at a motel that has random objects thrown all over the hallway, there's even items coming out of the ceiling tiles! Occasionally, you get to play a Mini Game such as navigating a path through a maze to flip over all red tiles. Each scene has a hidden Harlequin logo which when clicked on will recharge the hint icon automatically, but you can also do this by quickly clicking on two hidden objects. If this game is anything like a Harlequin Romance novel, I'll pass on that too.
I don't recommend this game.

Jack Thorne has returned to Wishville to repay his debt to Mayor Tom. After nearly dying last year, you thought nothing would come between you and your husband ever again, but you were wrong, and Jack may have sacrificed his own life to save yours! After waiting patiently for Jack to return for several days, you make the journey to Wishville knowing something is surely wrong. Something is very wrong with this town indeed, because the beautiful flora has been cursed, the entire town fears the wrath of these deadly roses. One thing's for sure, Mayor Tom may be the root of all evil, and may be deadlier than the thorns themselves!

I love this fairytale twist about a witch with a spindle, a Mayor who takes advantage of the curse, and an emboldened and unlikely hero, who ironically happens to be a product of the curse. As she tries to save her husband from uncertainty she finds her true calling to be helping the spirits who were unable to pay their debts before death. Could this be her redemption?
To find out more about the residents and debtors of Wishville, you will come across Augustine's Casket, a rose adorned box with a thirst for blood. A magic box with the ability to tell you a tale about the person's plight, but only with a drop of familiar Wishville residents blood. I took advantage of today's spectacular Collector's Edition sale and bought that version because there are several Achievements to earn, 25 Collectible (not hidden) Roses, and 25 slow Morphing Objects to discover, which this version doesn't offer.
The Hidden Object Scenes are mostly interactive List finds with an abundance of interactions, but there are also Multiple finds and Bold Text findings while a story is told about Wishville, and even multiple finds in a journal. There are several Zoom Zone puzzles as well that require you to find several useful items such as acorns or apples.
The Mini Games are familiar, some very easy and others a bit more difficult. The following are brief descriptions of the Mini Games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Light up the Tokens by pressing them, clicking on one token affects others.
2) Arrange the squirrels according to the sketch by swapping two at a time.
3) Swap blades of the windmill until they match the correct element.
4) Connect the matching symbols by choosing a symbol and dragging an unbroken path between them, without crossing.
5) Restore the image by swapping the tokens and rotating them until all the lines connect, swap tiles, click to rotate.
6) Select section to paint crest then choose one of the bottles to paint that section, the area you paint must be adjacent to the valve.
7) Swap the prince statues so each one is holding a medal, each type has a different weight moving one may shift another statues weight.
8) Arrange the Portraits according to the other character they are connected to using vines and central symbols to guide you.
9) Remove the Runes by matching them. Each round will increase in difficulty and the runes will hide and shift after you choose them.
The Collector's Edition has 25 Collectible Flowers, 21 Achievements, 7 Wallpapers, 7 Screensavers, 6 Music Soundtracks, 16 Concept Art pictures, 35 Videos, 25 Morphing Objects, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Adventure, enjoy!

This wouldn't have been so bad if the game didn't keep repeating just about every feature. Then Hidden Object Scenes are Listed item finds, or Multiple of the same items to find, but you search for the same items in just about every HOS. If you're not searching for the same items they are still the same items in the scenes, and the colors are so gold, it's difficult to find items when everything is goldish in color. You earn points for each item found, and points are deducted for misclicks, the problem is, if you don't click exactly where the game wants you to, points are deducted for a misclick! To open up new locations, you have to trace patterns without crossing lines, and the patterns are different every time but it gets old after a while. Each HOS will have you collect the same gems, one of every color, then you guessed it, you play the same game every time, swapping gems until they are in the correct slots. This game's just too repetitive for my taste.
I don't recommend this game.
