I love Tower Defense Games, but this game just wasn't very fun because it had too much going on. Some of the maps have fixed paths that the enemy walks on, that won't allow you to place weapons there, other maps have no paths but allow you to place weapons to create paths and blockades. You must first purchase weapons, then they can be upgraded until they reach maximum capacity, there are cannons, crossbows, freezers and blade crosses and eventually you'll have access to all 18 available weapons. There are also 18 different types of enemies, some that are slow but deadly, fast and agile, highly aggressive and even enemies that fly. This isn't a bad TD game, it just has complicated features that take a while to get used to. For me, I think I like the the traditional TD games, they just seem more fun.
I recommend this game!

Gerald Dewitt was kicked to the curb and told he lacked talent and his inventions were worthless. As Gerald contemplates his life's work worthiness, a stranger hands him a camera and tells him that his inventions will be limitless, but the time will come when the stranger returns to collect his dues. Gerald's camera does become famous, but for all the wrong reasons, the Lumina Camera captures peoples souls and traps them in the negative world. Leia Gofford and Mr. Jenkins have been asked to scrutinize the camera before the museum put it on display, to be sure that the camera is safe for the public, but the Lumina Camera is not safe, it's most definitely an Ominous Object!

My Jenkins is the star of the show, once again, using his four paws to investigate like no human could ever do, and soaring to heights (gently of course) of epic proportions to reach those items that somehow manage to find their way to the top of some really weird places. Equipped with your newest Ominous Object Camera, you will take pictures, and match photos to their original origins, the only way to break free from the cameras grasp is to align the photo with the victims inside to the exact place the photo was taken. There are 15 Collectible Photos located throughout the game and each scene has a Morphing Object, some of which are very difficult to find which leads me to believe that the game is non-linear and may require an action elsewhere's to activate the morph. There are also plenty of Achievements to earn in this Collector's Edition.

The Hidden Object Scenes are decent, and include smaller Zoom Zone puzzles where you find fragments that match the silhouetted shapes shown in the scene outside of the zoom zone. There are Multiple Finds, Interactive List Finds, Silhouetted Shape Finds, Matching Pair Finds and even Fragment Finds. You can opt to play a Match 3 game instead of the Hidden Object Scenes.

The Mini Games vary in terms of difficulty, most are doable and entertaining. The following are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:

1) Create a patch for the coin to travel from left to right selecting reels to move them.

2) Restore the picture using arrows to rotate the pieces.

3) Restore the photo by swapping tokens and using blue arrows on either side of the frame to make other tokens available.

4) Move the red block to the right, blocks can only be moved in the direction they are facing.

5) Create a path for the bird latch to travel through, by selecting and dragging deadbolts with the red circles to move them, moving one deadbolt affects others.

6) Move the figures so that their hand are touching.

7) Move the camera through all of the buildings within 7 moves.

8) Recreate the ship from the picture using arrows to cycle through your options.

This Collector's Edition has 42 Morphing Objects, 15 Collectible Photos, 6 levels of Dots games, 4 Music Soundtracks, 8 Concept Art photos, 7 Developers Diary photos, 6 Wallpapers, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy!
I recommend this game!

Once upon a time, something terrible happened...... a normally peaceful Match 3 game became stressful and boring! Buttonlands may never be repaired to its former glory because I packed my toolbox and headed back home, to play Cradle of Rome and Cradle of Egypt, really good Match 3 games! I'm sure some gamers will dig this basic Match 3 game, but for me the Limited Moves feature was a giant turn off that overshadowed the uniqueness of "tile flipping"
Because you are in Buttonlands, the tiles are different variations of buttons, boring buttons, how creative can you get with a button after all? Each level has the goals listed on the left side which usually consist of matching specific buttons of a specific amount, such as 20 green buttons and 30 yellow buttons. Most levels also requires you to make matches upon all green cells, or red cells that then become green and require a third match to complete. The goals need to be completed within a specific number of moves that is shown above the goals to achieve all three gold stars.
At first I liked the "FLIP" feature offered, where each button tile can be flipped over with a simple click, revealing an alternate button tile. Then it became apparent that flipping tiles was a necessity, strategically, because you simply cannot beat the level without doing it because there aren't enough allotted moves otherwise to reach the goals. Because there are so few allotted moves, you must flip tiles to find the right combinations strategically to win.
Large matches of 4 or more, will earn a Bomb on the board. The larger the match, the more powerful the bomb. According to the size bomb, it will have directional arrows indicating what directions it will destroy tiles such as an X or cross configuration. If you use the Bomb in a match, the bomb will explode, BUT, it will count as a legitimate move. If you simply just "click" on the bomb to detonate it without swapping, the bomb still explodes, destroying tiles AND it won't count as a move. As you progress additional tools will be added starting with the hammer which allows you to chose where you want to destroy tiles.
Gold buttons (not to be confused with yellow buttons) can be collected by clicking on them (doesn't count as a move) and the gold is used to repair Buttonlands, The levels quickly become more difficult with the addition of obstacles like the Push Pin, these tiles cannot flip and require a match made of the same button under the pin. I think this will be a game that is either loved or hated so you really should try this game before you buy it.
I don't recommend this game.

This edition of World Mosaics offers a story, as you play the role of a Fiction Fixer (there are HOPA games available as well from BF: Alice in Wonderland and The Curse of Oz) After defeating your nemesis Victor Vile, during your last encounter, you discover that he has stolen 10 classic books. The only book recovered so far is Beauty and the Beast, so you must use the Faction Fixer Portal to enter Beauty and the Beast and search for the next book.
Each "book" allows you to enter that story and interact with the main characters as you search for the next book. Each of the storybooks have 10 mosaic puzzles that form pictures relating to the story's progress such as a Castle from Beauty and the Beast, or a Rose from the Beast's garden. You can earn up to 3 Stars per level if you don't make any mistakes or use power-ups. The Power-up feature allows you to choose a 3x3 grid to be filled.
The downside? Color Mode! Seems they have elected to give you either/or with this game. You can solve grids in basic colors in the Story Mode OR you can choose Color Mode which has several colors to switch to, but you don't get the story, which is not bad in reality.
I decided to look on the bright side, or colorful side. I can solve all 110 puzzles in Story Mode and then switch over to Color Mode to solve another 110, enjoy!
I recommend this game!

Occultus is one of those games that is difficult to make it through the demo, in fact it took me an entire week, and to be honest, I still haven't completed the demo. This is a "Click & Drag" type game, that also has a Zoom feature, allowing you to drag and zoom the entire scene. This was the most annoying feature for me because the zoom feature had a mind of it's own and would randomly zoom into meaningless areas on it's own, but perhaps that's attributed to my Mac Magic Mouse.
This game has potential, it has an interesting plot, decent enough graphics and soundtracks and it takes place in Italy. That's about it, the bad stuff outweighs the good stuff, there's very little to do in each scene, some of the places you need to visit aren't where you're supposed to be and where you're supposed to be doesn't look like a place you'd be or even think about being. The map is annoying to access, the Hidden Object scenes lack imagination and the items are small and some are unrecognizable. Even the inventory items that need to be combined have an annoying feature tasking you to click and drag both items to an empty slot above the bar, and then clicking the combination button.
You collect "lucky coins" but I don't know what you're supposed to do with them. The title makes me think that the game will be dark and creepy, instead it's bright and cheery. Perhaps the game picks up the pace a bit after the demo, perhaps, but I have my doubts, so definitely try before you buy this game!
I don't recommend this game.

It's time for another cruise aboard the USS Liberty! Just like the previous two Vacation Adventures, this is purely a HOG with Puzzles and Mini Games available between each Hidden Object Scene. You can choose either Casual or Challenge modes as well as which gender of cruise director you want. The best part about this game is that it's relaxing, there's no timer so you have all the time in the world, and some of the items to find are tiny, so it's a good thing there's no time restraints.
Each scene has Lost items that need found, the portal on the bottom left will show these items one at a time as silhouetted shapes, when all have been found the portal will close. Each scene has recyclable items that need to be found such as paper bags, cans, and bottles, when all recyclable items have been found the recycle symbol will appear. You earn coins as you play and the coins can be used to purchase 16 different Souvenirs, but this feature doesn't really float my boat.
The items to find are list finds, items in red are hidden in or behind something, items in blue are tasks to complete such as finding and dragging a bell to it's proper place. There are 18 trophies to earn and you are scored a bronze star if you find all items, a silver star if you find all lost items OR all recyclable items and a gold star when you find all lost items and recyclable items. You will also receive an eagle eye bonus if you don't use the hint, there is also a Mega Hint feature that will briefly show you all available items on the list.
After each HOG you will get to solve a puzzle or mini game such as rotating puzzle tiles to complete a picture, Match 2 identical items by flipping over two cards at a time, Spot the Difference between two almost identical pictures, finding cruise related words in a word search, or putting together a jigsaw type puzzle of the ship's layout. enjoy!
I recommend this game!

Cursed Cases clearly has potential, but it lacks a wow factor in my opinion. After initially playing the CE demo, I found the tasks to be a bit dull and repetitious, leading me to believe that after the demo, the game could become stagnant and trite. I decided to wait for a good Big Fish sale and then I reluctantly purchased this game to see if it picked up the pace a bit. After playing the entire Collector's Edition, (and the Standard Edition demo for comparison) it became apparent that this game is like a roller coaster. The dullness gives way to an interesting plot that piqued my interest, then plummeted downward with tedious tasks, up, down, up, down, you get my point. The graphics are decent, and the voiceovers are well done, but the people and animals move sideways and jilted, I'd rather they not show the movement at all rather than watch them move awkwardly and unrealistically.
Emmett Maybard has been murdered and his killer is still on the loose! It's been two weeks since his murder and Emmett's sister Sophia has hired you to investigate because of your unique psychic ability to see past events and even people who have passed. The killer isn't done yet however, because one by one, he has been trying to poison Emmett's family and friends. Could the murders have anything to do with his current will?
Because you are psychic, you will use your Aura ability frequently which requires you to find two or three "clues" by searching for evidence with a magnifying glass until you find an area with a shaded blue section. Each clue you find will explain your detective deduction, but I just found this feature kind of lame. Some items in your Inventory will have a question mark which indicates that the item is evidence, usually in need of forensics. Your forensic kit is basically an icon with powder and an icon with with tape so you can follow a two step process to lift the print, which is very basic and repetitious. The Collector's Edition has the usual Achievements to earn as well as 13 Morphing Objects that will shed light upon the characters with a short bio. There is a satchel located on the bottom left of the screen that contains all your important documents, an evidence board, a map, a task list, and notes about the case. You can also access the Character bios you have found, replay the game's videos and your Trophies for earned achievements.(CE)
The Hidden Object Scenes are unimpressive, with no new variations, at least within the demo itself. Some of the scenes are repeated a second time which is a feature I hate because it's too boring a second time around. There are Silhouetted Shape finds, multi layered HOP's where you first find multiples of two different items and then place the objects into two ornate boxes which opens up the item Lists.
There are smaller Zoom Zone puzzles and you can opt to play a Match 3 game instead of the HOP's.
The Mini Games seem to be variations of the same type of puzzles. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo and a few memorable puzzles after the demo:
1) Recreate the image by placing diamond shaped tiles into the correct empty slots using directional arrows on each column and row of a grid board.
2) Each Aura ability requires you to search for blue shaded areas, usually two or three different areas of interest.
3) Restore the image by placing flower buttons to rotate the positions of the tiles.
4) Drag clock weights to set the time according to the clue shown.
5) Select pairs of matching items, beginning with 3 objects, then 4, then 5 items to climb a tree. (this made no sense, why would you grab onto a kite stuck in a tree or a finch minding it's own business to help you scale up a tree?)
6) Rotate the rings to line up with the silver clasps, clicking on one ring may affect others.
7) Jump the checkers, one by one to clear the board.
8) Drag groups of gears to their correct positions based upon the clue.
9) Place several portraits in their correct positions based upon their shapes using green gems to rotate.
10) Place gears correctly to open a lock.
11) Spot the difference between two nearly identical scenes.
12) Move picture parts to restore the image.
The Collector's Edition has 13 Developer Diary pictures, 10 Concept Art pictures, 6 Wallpapers, 13 Morphing Objects with character bios, 4 Music Soundtracks, 6 levels of replayable Match 3 games, 26 Achievement Trophies to earn, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy!

Margaret has gotten herself into yet another pickle, good thing you're an expert in the paranormal field. Margaret was personally selected for an internship at Stonehenge, studying the recent fluctuation of it's magnetic field. Things went south very quickly and an explosion occurred, Margaret was the sole survivor thanks to MI6 Agent David Redford. After further investigation, you discover portals to other worlds within Stonehenge, worlds that are suffering dangerous weather phenomena caused by someone or something her on earth!
Labyrinths of the World games are one of those games that flies under the radar, they aren't epic games, but they are surprisingly entertaining games with really interesting storylines and features. The graphics are beautiful and there are so many Collector's Edition extras to make this game a worthy edition to your library. There are Collectible Character Statuettes, Hidden Artifacts, Morphing Objects and Hidden Marsh Lights that give you the option of "buying" 11 different Zoological Garden Creatures.
The Hidden Object Scenes are basically the same type, Interactive List finds, with a handful of Silhouetted Shape finds thrown in for good measure. There is one HOP that allows you to interact with the scene as it relates to Keywords told in a story as you are tasked with finding the related items and replacing them within the scene correctly. You can also opt for a Match 3 game if you're not into the HOP's.
The Mini Games aren't bad, and each game gives you the option of choosing an Easy Mode or Hard Mode. Even better, if you can't beat the puzzle in Hard Mode, you can always switch to easy mode. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo;
1) Press 5 buttons in the correct order, pressing one button may affect others.
2) Choose and drag the sliders to adjust them so that every symbol turns green, clicking on one slider may affect others.
3) Enter the code shown on the tag by swapping adjacent tiles.
4) Restore the picture by swapping pie shaped sections.
5) Move the mirrors up or down so the beam of light bounces off each mirror and through the portal.
6) Lower all of the magic vines, lowering one vine may affect others.
7) Use the glowing flower to find the animal that will be drawn to the light.
8) Arrange the flowers so they match the same colors as the leaves.
This Collector's Edition has 17 Collectible Character Statuettes, 20 Hidden Artifacts, 83 Otherworldly Particles that allow you to buy 11 different Marsh Creatures for the Zoological Garden, 35 Morphing Objects, 22 replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 27 replayable Mini Games, 5 Music Soundtracks, 22 Videos, 40 Achievements, 19 Concept Art Pictures, 17 Wallpapers, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy!

Once Upon A Time......when I first discovered my love for HOPA's, I discovered an epic series. This series was called, Dark Parables, and I became hooked, purchasing one DP after another. The stories were creative, taking well know fairytales and twisting the plot ever so gently to draw you in hook, line, and sinker. But my favorite feature was the Morphing Objects which to be honest with you I didn't know they even existed until I was a couple of chapters in on Curse of Briar Rose, the first DP game I played. You know why? Because the developers were geniuses! Dark Parables were non-linear games, Morphing Objects didn't Morph until they were eventually triggered by by an action you did in an entirely different scene. These Morphs were challenging to say the least and often times you had to travel to a scene several times, and then had to be patient to spot the Morphs because they morphed slowly. Dark Parables were also masters at blending fragments within their Hidden Object Scenes (FROGS) as well, which is a feature that didn't suit everyone's taste, but nevertheless, that's what made this series adored by many. I also loved the familiar sounds and music that was in all DP games until recently. Have the new producers scraped all the features because they don't want to become stereotypical, or is it just too much work when the easier route can skim by on the shirttail of it's predecessors? I'm certainly not bashing the devs, to the contrary, Swan Princess is a really good game, I just think the devs don't think we little guys will notice or care what's missing. Do me a favor, however, and give Curse Briar Rose, the Exiled Prince or even The Rise of The Snow Queen a try and you'll see what I mean, those were the good ole days.
I know after reading all that, that it sounds like I think this is a horrible game. I don't think that at all, I enjoyed playing this game, I just don't think it holds a candle to the original Dark Parable games. If It Ain't Broke, Don't Fix It! I'm going to pretend it's just a fairytale and that maybe, just maybe, Epix will consider bringing back the non-linear Morphing Objects, I can live with the rest. The graphics are beautiful as usual, it even seems to be less glittery that the last couple of DP games, which is good thing. The Collector's Edition has 39 Hidden Acorn Signs and they are blended into the scenery very nicely, even better, the cursor doesn't change to a hand to alert you by simply scanning over the scene. At least they haven't taken away the Dark Parable Collections, (CE) and those fragments are well hidden too. Once you have collected all Parable fragments you get to read about short tales such as Up rise of the Swan, Forbidden Idol, The First Tree, A Dark Dream, and the Jewel of Repose.
This twisted tale is about the magical kingdom of Dire Island where the Magic Seed that allows the goddess Flora to regenerate the Dire tree of life, has been stolen. The Swan guards are sworn to protect the goddess at all cost, and some of the guards have the ability to transform into beautiful swans. The Black Swan was a high ranking guard who is responsible for the theft, even though her intentions may have been for all the right reasons, she might not have known that the Kingdom would begin to crumble.
The Hidden Object Scenes are all the same, but that's a good thing! These are actually FROGS, where you search the scene for several fragments that are cleverly hidden among other objects. There are three different groups of fragments that will join together to make a single inventory item such as an elaborate key or emblem that will help you progress in the game. There are also a few Zoom Zone FROG's as well with just a handful of fragments to locate.
The Mini Games are also clever, below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Use the looking glass to find the path to the Dire Tree by selecting landmarks along the way as shown on the outside of the stone.
2) Find and place items within a play that are out of place as a story unfolds.
3) Swap pie shaped puzzle pieces to create an image.
4) Connect all the squares with the number of connections indicated by dots without intersecting connections and in the same direction.
5) Match symbols by searching for partially hidden symbols with shown.
6) Set up the boards so that every ball will fall to the correct place on the bottom that matches its color and shape and then test your configuration.
The Collector's Edition has 12 Achievements, 6 Concept Art pictures, 8 Wallpapers, 9 Music Soundtracks, 22 replayable Mini Game puzzles, 16 replayable FROG's, 39 Hidden Acorn Signs, Hidden Parables (The Swan Princess and A Fable of Two Hearts), Souvenirs, 17 Videos, a built in Strategy Guide, NO MORPHING OBJECTS, and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy!

If you want to play a relaxing game of Mahjong, pass on this game because it's anything but relaxing! The object of this game is to make matches at lightning speed to earn three stars, which btw seems impossible. No matter how fast I was able to match tiles, most of the higher levels were impossible to earn more than 2 stars, but maybe I'm just too slow.
There is a rapidly decreasing number (and I do mean rapidly) at the upper right of the screen, the slower you are to make a match, the less points you will score. If the counter reaches 0, you can continue to play but will earn no points for the match you eventually make. The counter resets after each match.
There are regular 2D levels that have Beginner levels, Easy, Intermediate, Challenging, Difficult, and Super Sized puzzle levels. There is also a 3D Mahjong style available in Bonanza and Extravaganza where you need to click and drag, and even zoom in or out as you try to locate the matching tiles. All tiles are free in the 3D mode, but it's not as easy as it sounds, especially when you have to find matches quickly on a cube like grid.
If you have a need for speed, you're going to love this game, but if you don't care about points, you can always take your time matching tiles and just get 0 points and 0 stars, enjoy!
I recommend this game!
