To be honest, I wasn't crazy about Threads of Fate, so I wasn't expecting this game to knock me off my computer chair, and it didn't. Clearly, the developers aren't reading their reviews; otherwise, they would have made changes based on numerous complaints in the first game. There are a few "pros" but certainly more "cons" for my personal taste, and I had no desire to complete the demo, much less purchase the game!
One of the first solitaire games developed by Digimight Games was Snow White Solitaire: Charmed Kingdom. I can remember scrambling to hit the "Buy Now" button because I was so blown away by the creative uniqueness of the Morphing boosters. The morphs would temporarily appear on random cards on the field. If you could play a card with a morph, you would be rewarded with a bonus, such as +Coins, +2-3 Extra Deck Cards, or a Tornado that revealed a few Face Down Cards. The Morphs would only last a few seconds before disappearing, but they would reappear on another card shortly after. I can't understand why they don't offer this unique feature anymore. It was different than anything else offered; without this feature, it's just another solitaire game with the same features every other solitaire game has.
It has the usual Obstacle Cards, such as Lock and Key Cards, cards that Clone and require removing the card twice, cards with numbers that count down from 5, and removes a deck card if the card isn't played in time, or cards with either black or red vines, requiring the same color card to remove the vines. As you progress, Scrolls are added that help you remove cards. etc. You will earn coins that can be used to purchase various bonus cards in the shop, but I didn't find them particularly valuable and certainly not very creative. They do allow you to purchase Jokers for just 500 coins. This may sound really cheap, but you only earn a few coins per level, and in my opinion, they are really stingy with the deck cards (most levels give you less than 20), so you'll find yourself replaying every level.
EXTRAS: 11 Trophies, 5 Cartoonish Wallpapers, 10 extra Mini-games, 5 Card Graphics, and 2 Card Fonts (a large font & a themed font, both are difficult to read), 200 Solitaire Levels (I only saw 40 levels on the map, so hopefully, the other 160 are available when you purchase the game?)

Looks like we have a new HOG from Lazy Turtle Games, the developer who created the Travel To series (Travel to Spain, Travel To India, etc.) I'm not really seeing a difference between this game and the Travel To series other than finding a single Recyclable item shown as a Silhouetted Shape. I agree with beckins; it's one thing to misspell a word on the Listed Items mode, but when you are trying to find "Macaron" spelled as "Macaroni" on the Missing Vowels or Mirrored mode, it's a whole different ballgame! The first HO scene was a Listed Item Mode, and I searched for ages to find "macaroni" in any form before it dawned on me that it was probably misspelled. Sure enough, the item was indeed a macaron! They should probably ditch this tasty dessert altogether (on the sidewalk next to the burgers and bananas) because there are actually two different types, a macaron, and a macaroon which has coconut flakes.
Maybe I'm just growing weary of the travel-type HOG's but why do they always have stupid random items thrown around the streets and travel destinations? Slap a burger on a poster, throw a slice of pizza on the hood of a car, bananas, peppers, and tons of trash spewn about town...isn't the point to highlight the beauty of the states or countries they are featuring? If the gross leftover food doesn't make you yearn for a vacation, how about searching for the over-abundance of common household items featured in every HO game since the dawn of man: feathers, horseshoes, toothbrushes (hopefully not used), wrenches, bowling pins, pool balls, scissors, jerrycans, flashlights, crowbars, glasses, microphones, headphones, calculator's, and of course, rubber stamps! Speaking of rubber stamps, you would think one of these HO developers would break the mold and throw in some objects that are theme-related, objects that make sense and don't stick out like a sore thumb!
You can play in a Relaxed mode with no timer, or opt for a 10-minute or 3-minute Timed mode. You will earn a single Gold Star when you complete a scene, and those stars unlock the next destination. Eventually, you will have to replay the scenes to unlock others. You can choose which HO mode to play, such as Listed Items, Missing Vowels, Silhouetted Shapes, or Mirrored Mode, where the words, as well as the scene itself, is a mirrored image (like seeing the word ambulance thru your rearview mirror)
SCENE LOCATIONS: Statue of Liberty New York Public Library Natural History Museum Broadway Brooklyn Bridge Bryant Park Central Park China Town Bronx Zoo Coney Island Empire State Building Grand Central Terminal Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum Rockefeller Center SoHo St. Patrick's Cathedral The Met Cloisters The Metropolitan Museum of Art Times Square.

The game mechanics have improved, and the objects are blended better than they were in the first game. The Stars & Keys, in particular, were way less obvious; they are supposed to be an extra challenge, so I believe this was a smart move on BoomZap's part. I loved the outdoor nature scenes, but those were far & few between; the rest were very unappealing. However, I do recommend the music...for those who are having trouble falling asleep.
There are four modes of difficulty, Easy-Medium-Hard, and Custom, which allow you to set the Hint & Super Hint Recharge from 5-60 seconds, enable/disable misclick penalty, as well as locking mini-game pieces. There are several HO modes available: Standard Listed Items mode, Picture mode, Silhouetted Shapes mode, Missing Vowels mode, Riddles mode, and scenes where you have to find items that seem out of place.
Each Hidden Object Scene has a Hidden Key that unlocks a Fun Fact. You can replay levels to get a new fun fact if desired (5 keys/fun facts per location). Each scene also has a collectible Star that will unlock that same scene in the Unlimited Play mode. There are Morphing Objects and two objects per scene that require a task of some sort, such as "catching the butterfly," and some scenes have a zoom zone available.
A mini-game is unlocked after playing three Hidden Object Scenes. There are several shaped puzzles requiring you to drag fragments in place, word searches, and art coloring games.
COLLECTOR'S EDITION EXTRAS: 40 Hidden Object Levels & 14 Collector's Edition Bonus Levels (in the Campaign tab), 13 Achievements, 15 Wallpapers, 11 Soundtracks, 50 Re-playable Mini-games (in the Subgame Journal tab), a Fun Fact Diary (fun facts unlock as you find hidden Keys), an Unlimited Play Mode (each HO scene becomes available as you find hidden Stars)

I just don't get it. Every game released by e-FunSoft is identical; they don't even bother to switch the order in which the levels appear. If they keep making games, obviously, they are selling games. But, if they are selling so many games, who exactly is buying them... first-time players... second-time duped buyers, die-hard fans of the genre? The only thing I can figure is that people are buying the game before trying the game; therefore, they don't realize the Match 3 game itself is identical (same boards, same levels, same order) until it's too late...OR they don't care that it's an identical carbon copy game because they just want a new story.
To be clear, I'm not saying these are bad games. Although they lack the bells and whistles and quality of a Jewel Match or Suddenly Meow match 3 kind of game, they are decent games. My complaint here is that every match 3 game by e-FunSoft Games is identical. They have the same levels as the last game offered, and the one before that, lather-rinse-repeat. They simply change the graphics surrounding the boards, change the title, add a new story, and rename the "Tools" (they are the same tools that do the same thing). Occasionally, they change the icons, but the same icons reappear in other releases, so technically, they just recycle those as well.

I've been an animal lover all my life, so naturally, I was drawn to this game when the CE version was released. After just a few quick levels, I realized it didn't have the "it" factor I was hoping for.
I'll be honest; it doesn't sit well with me that this developer keeps making games that are dead-ringers for successful HOG series' that other developers created.
First, they copied every Vacation Adventure feature to a T when they released Big Adventure: Trip To Europe. Now they are swooping in with a knockoff replica of the I Love Finding Cats/Dogs/Critters/Birds series. It's one thing to create a similar game theme, but when someone chooses to downright carbon-copy every aspect of another developer's game using identical formats & game mechanics, it doesn't seem right! It seems unfair and downright disingenuous. This developer continues taking a ride on the shirtsleeves of those who worked really hard to create a name for themselves, those developers who came up with an original theme and unique features all by themselves...
The graphics are decent, but the game mechanics are sluggish. It takes forever for the score window to pop up after completing a level. The silhouetted shape "extra" animals can be clicked on in any order (before their silhouette shows up), yet when you click on an animal out of sequence; it often causes a glitch that doesn't award the third star. Objects are often mislabeled or confusing, a "street lantern" is a porch light, a "dwarf" is just a garden gnome, a "bag" is a purse, a "totem" is a mask, and "oven mitts" is just a single oven mitt.
There are 12-16 Listed Items to find, with an occasional second-round mixup of Silhouetted Shapes, Descriptive finds, or Multiples of the same Object. Items in Blue are tasks that need to be completed, such as assembling a lamp. Each level has a different number of Silhouetted Shape pets to find, as shown in the box on the bottom left, and there are secondary zoom zones as well. The scene's graphics are clear, and the objects are easily identified. None of the objects are hidden; they are just lying around in places you'd expect them to be. (a kite in the sky, an antenna on the rooftop)
They should have offered difficulty modes because you can't earn all the stars if you don't make quick, consecutive matches. You earn a Red Star for completing a level, a Blue Star for finding all Silhouetted Shape pets, and the third and final yellow star can only be earned for making quick combo finds (x2-x3-x4-x5). Points are converted to Pet money, allowing you to purchase 20 Pet Shop animals. I can think of hundreds of different pets that could have been offered, yet they had two different fish, two different birds, two ferrets, two different guinea pigs, two different hamsters, two different cats, and two raccoons (that are illegal to sell as pets)...not much variety, is it? What's even worse is that after playing 6 HO scenes and three mini-games in the demo, I could purchase 10 pets...out of 20 total!
Collector's Edition Extras: 8 Bonus Levels, 8 Bonus Puzzles, 12 Wallpapers, 20 Pet Shop Animals, and 18 Music Soundtracks.

THEY DIDN'T EVEN BOTHER WITH BACKGROUNDS-MOST JUST HAVE A PLAIN-COLORED BACKGROUND

Of course, I love cats, and I love jigsaws, but this game is worthless. Most of the cats are photoshopped onto a plain white background, or an occasional purple or blue background which is just boring...this is a jigsaw, right? If you are lucky to come across an actual background, they are blurred to focus on the cats themselves. I don't know about you, but when I do a jigsaw puzzle, I want some kind of background; otherwise, it's kind of boring.
There are no customization features, at least none that are beneficial. The ghosted images are dark, and it's hard to see the empty slots once you start placing pieces. There is a heavy shadow on the puzzle pieces, which I find annoying, not to mention the colors or tabs don't actually look like they match.
There is a sorting option; however, the current sort option simply scrambles the pieces supposedly to the correct area, such as the top, bottom, right, or left side. Most of the time, there seems to be no rhyme or reason for how or why the pieces are sorted the way they are; it's like a roll of the dice...and they always sort the pieces right on top of the puzzle area, and you spend most of your time clearing them away!
Once you complete a Jigsaw Puzzle, you're done, the party's over, and you get about 2 seconds to admire your work before the image disappears, and the stats pop up...probably for the best!

I didn't have time to play this game when it was first released, but I did play the newest one, Connections of the World: Mirrored Earths. It is obvious that they have made improvements since this game, such as voiceovers, so I'm not going to judge too harshly when they seem to be putting forth an effort.
In my opinion, I get why Do Games are creating simple HOGs because they are basically responsible for creating two games a week for Big Fish Games. They need to release a few simple games in between their HOPAs which takes a huge amount of production time. How can anyone possibly keep up with releasing a quality HOPA twice a week? The quality is waning on those HOPA games because it's simply impossible to create a decent game at this maddening pace.
The Hidden Object Scenes vary with Interactive List Finds, Matching Pairs, Silhouetted Shapes, Combination Finds (this + this = ?), Related Pairs, Matching Swatches, etc. They are very colorful, unfortunately, they are really easy and present no challenge. After completing the HO scene, you will earn a Star that is used to decorate several different Boudoirs.
After a few HO levels, you will play a mini-game which can be skipped. I found the mini-games to be better than most HO games offer. They are really no different than the ones offered in a typical HOPA by Do Games.
Collector's Edition Extras: 10 Wallpapers, 10 Concept Art pictures, 5 Music Soundtracks, and a handful of extra levels.

Everyone seems to be upset that this is just a HOG because they have grown accustomed to the weekly HOPAs that Do Games spews out. If this was offered by a different developer, would it be okay then? I think it would! We are delighted when a decent HOG is released, such as the "I Love Finding..." series, so the issue isn't that this is just a HOG; the issue is that it's a HOG by Do Games.
Although I don't see much value in the Collector's Edition version, I did enjoy this game for what it is, a Hidden Object Game with puzzles. If you are willing to overlook the fact that Do Games developed a simple HOG to keep up with the demand, you may enjoy it! After all, they are basically responsible for creating two games a week for Big Fish Games, so if they need to release a few simple games in between their HOPAs which takes a huge amount of production time, I totally get it! How can anyone possibly keep up with releasing a quality HOPA twice a week? The quality is waning on those HOPA games because it's simply impossible to create a decent game at this maddening pace... let's be patient and enjoy the here and now and, hopefully, what's on deck for tomorrow!
There are voiceovers but no lip sync. There is also a story, which is more than most HOGs offer. The Hidden Object Scenes vary with Interactive List Finds, Matching Pairs, Silhouetted Shapes, Combination Finds (this + this = ?), Related Pairs, Matching Swatches, etc. After completing the HO scene, you will earn a Star that is used to decorate six different rooms.
After a few HO levels, you will play a mini-game which can be skipped. I found the mini-games to be superior to any other simple HO game. They are no different than the ones offered in a typical HOPA by Do Games.
The bottom line is that this is a good Hidden Object Game, but I do not think the CE is worth the price. The only extras you get are 15 Wallpapers, 15 Concept Art pictures, 5 Music Soundtracks, and a handful of extra levels. I do think the game will be worthy of purchase when the SE version is released.

I didn't realize this was a new game by The Revills Games, so I just now got around to playing it. Wow! I was super impressed with the features. Most developers need a few puzzle games under their belt to perfect the game, so I'm hoping they will add just one more feature??? BTW, they must have fixed the issue other reviewers mentioned because I didn't have any issues.
USER PHOTOS The most important feature this game has is the ability to download your own picture. This is so simple to do, folks, so it doesn't matter whether or not you like the puzzles offered! Go on the web and search for puzzle pictures; you can find amazing images in any category by artists who create images just for jigsaws. Once you find an image you love, download it to your computer and upload it to the game, it takes 2-3 steps.
OPTIONS -Rotate Clockwise -Shadows on puzzle edges -28 backgrounds + the ability to set the brightness -Snap sensitivity -Ghosted image + the ability to select the opaqueness -Puzzle piece placement (tidy placement, messy placement, scatter anywhere placement) -Puzzle size from 40-1008 pieces -Download your own images
I love the features; I love that the puzzle pieces look precisely as they should, they aren't dark, and they look authentic. The features are exactly what I want in a computer jigsaw, except for one feature...I have to have square pieces as an option! The only option is a classic jigsaw piece, and that's great, but I fell in love with 1/4 x 1/4 inch tiny squares in a puzzle game that I play every single day, and I haven't looked back! I love the challenge of placing these tiny squares without relying on the tabs or the shape of the puzzle piece. When they add this feature, I'm all in!
