Completed Game approximately 5.5 hours (including ALL mini-games and CE Bonus Chapter)
After arriving in Prague for a well-deserved vacation (is there such a thing as a not-well-deserved vacation? an un-well-deserved vacation? and ill-deserved vacation? would anyone admit that they don't deserve a vacation?) Nathaniel feels an urge (prolly just caused by unjustified vacation regrets) to take a gander at a Book in the display window, after all, it's glowing with a green paranormal hue, no tattoo necessary to put 2 and 2 together here folks. Nathaniel's spidey-senses were spot on, the book IS asking for his help because Nathaniel CAN read between the lines to see the unseen. Perhaps Nathaniel can do something about those horrible accents while he's on Va-ca in Tale World. (can't think of a single person who says "don't ya just love it when adults try to sound like a child, sure had me fooled!"
There are 12 Main Hidden Object Scenes and 15 Zoom Zone Hidden Object Scenes (+6 in the CE Bonus Chapter) and there is an alternate Match 3 Gems game available. The smaller Zoom Zone HOP's varied with Listed Items, Uncovering Match Item Pairs, Multiples, Morphing Objects, and Silhouetted Shape Finds. The main HOP's offered a good variety of Interactive Listed Item Finds, Roman Numeral Finds, Swatches Finds (finding the object that matches a swatch icon) Stained Glass Shards and several Pop-up Storybook HOP's that I really enjoyed. The Pop-up Storybook would start out with one page and required you to find a handful of items that matched the Silhouetted Shapes. Then you had to switch between 3 different pop-up pages, finding items and replacing them interactively. Most of the HO scenes are colorful and the items to find are clear and recognizable.
There are 30 Mini-Games (+10 in the CE Bonus Chapter) and most of them are easily solved on the first attempt. There is a repetitive "Connect the Dots" game every time Nathaniel's Tattoo Spidey-Senses are triggered, but I actually enjoyed them and was disappointed that the Tattoo was only used 4 times, one of which had a Hidden Object puzzle instead of the connect the dots game. Here are a few of my favorite games in Stories Untold:
1~Connect all dots in a continuous line without crossing over the same line. (Tattoo related~used 3 times) დ 2-Swap picture tokens to complete the image, select the button to change the availability of some tokens. დ 3-Place flowers so they will push other flowers along the path in the correct order. დ 4-Untangle the spider web. დ 5-Remove 4 planks to obtain 6 triangles. დდ 6-Rotate disks and swap icons until all tokens are in their color-coded disks.
The Collector's Edition Bonus Chapter (The Ghostbuster) takes place shortly after Nathaniel wraps up the case. You play as Vera the Vlogger going on a Ghostbusting investigation at Martins estate which he claims is haunted. This is an average-length chapter that takes place over 7 different scene locations. There are 10 Mini-Games, 6 Hidden Object Scenes, and 10 Dragonflies remaining in the CE Bonus Chapter (which allows you to purchase the final 3 Ferret Accessories as well) You will also complete the Book Decorations (4 Crowns and 3 Hearts) and Morphing Object Book Decoration Collectibles (7) If you missed any Book Decorations or Morphs, you can return to the scenes to search for them by clicking on that particular decoration, but you have to complete the main game first. Once you finish the Book Decoration Collectibles and Bonus Chapter, you can access the Hidden Chapter, "The Bookworm"
This Collector's Edition version has 9 Wallpapers, 14 Concept Art Pictures, 17 Movie Video Cutscenes, 8 Music Soundtracks, 15 Achievements, 10 Replayable Mini-Games, 13 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 27 Collectible Book Parts (4 Bows~4 Snowflakes~4 Roses~4 Fleur-de-lis~4 Butterflies~4 Crowns~3 Hearts) 27 Morphing Book Parts (each scene has 1 morphing book part and 1 decoration with a pull-out tab to keep track of them **you can return to the scenes to search for missed book parts after completing the main game by clicking on the appropriate book decoration**) 42 Zoom Zone Collectible Dragonflies to purchase 12 Ferret Accessories, 27 Main Chapter Scene Locations, 7 Bonus Chapter Scene Locations, 3 Chapters (Never-Ending Story) +Bonus Chapter (The Ghostbuster) +Hidden Chapter (The Bookworm~you must complete all Book Part Collectibles to access this hidden chapter) and a Built-in Strategy Guide.

This is another sticky sweet Match 3 game by the developer whose slogan is "We create free-to-play games and entertainment projects" I could probably just end my review right here because that slogan says it all, right?
These particular Match 3 games have all the features I dislike and none that I like. They are all based on Limited Moves, the tiles are big and quite colorful, as you'd expect in a candy-sweets related game. You begin the game with Tutorials that can't be opted out of, at least I wasn't able to find a way. I hate it when tutorials force you to use a booster they have just given you or force you to make a specific match just to show you how the game works when clearly there are better options available. To make matters worse, the levels themselves are always familiar because they are recycled from one sugary sweet M3 game to the next.
One of the biggest drawbacks these games have for me personally is that you can't continue to make consecutive matches back-to-back. You have to wait until all the tiles finish falling before you can continue. Once you complete a level, any unused moves will be added to the board, and you have to wait for an eternity as the game finishes out all the possible moves and the boosters and power-ups explode before the score tallies up. Then you have to wait again, as the game moves on to the map section, adds the star scores to that particular level icon and hops to the next level icon. This doesn't allow the game to flow in my opinion.
Large matches will earn a Bonus Icon to the board, and these bonuses can be combined to make a larger explosion. A Match 4 gives you a color-specific Horizontal or Vertical Line Busting Penguin. A Match 5 gives you a Rainbow Penguin to remove all tiles of the same color matched with. T or L shaped matches will give you a color-specific Penguin Bomb to explode and destroy adjacent tiles. Boosters will be unlocked as you progress, and must be added before starting the level. If you run out of moves before the goals are completed you can use the coins earned to buy additional moves...just like a free-to-play fb game.
I've never been a fan of mobile Match 3 games that play themselves, but I really don't understand why the mobile version is free but the PC version isn't?

I really didn't get all the fuss everyone was making over the first Pixel Art release. When Pixel Art 2 was released I thought I'd give it a whirl during a Buy one, Get One sale and I found myself totally engrossed in one of the most simplistic games I've ever played. It turns out that "painting pixels by numbers" is very relaxing and very zen.
The first five or six levels are just tutorials and the pixels are large and very easy to fill in, but eventually, the pictures become quite elaborate as the pixels get smaller and more intricate. It feels like a great accomplishment to finish a picture and completely relaxing at that!
There's not a whole lot to have to figure out, it's about as uncomplicated and basic as it gets. Pixel Art is a computer version of Paint by Numbers. Each pixel has a number and you chose the corresponding color bubble (also numbered) on the right and simply left click to fill in all the numbers with the correct color, you can hold the mouse button and swipe through large groupings as well.
There is a Slider Bar that allows you to zoom in & out (there's a directional tab as well) you can also move the entire page around by right-clicking and dragging. There is an auto-fill feature that will fill in all of the pixels of a particular color by double-clicking, but that feature has to recharge after each use, besides, it's more satisfying to color them yourself. The last feature is a slider bar that allows you to change the color of the background, it really only allows you to change the colors in shades of grey or black. It would make more sense to have an entire color scale available on a paint by numbers game, wouldn't it?
Keep an open mind, it seems basic and rudimentary at first but you may just find yourself boarding the Pixel Art Zen train too, I'll save you a seat!

When I first started playing this game I really liked it because I like solving puzzles that you have to figure out by finding and applying clues you discover during an adventure. This game seemed to fit the bill, and I didn't really mind the cartoon style graphics that turned off a lot of reviewers, in fact, some of my favorite Adventure games are the Bad Dreams series, and they are nothing more than penciled sketches. This isn't really a hard game to master, but it can be difficult to find "active" areas because of the graphics style.
I spent a few days playing this game between other games and of course, work. I probably made it about halfway through the game, and just got completely bored with it. All I was doing was going back and forth searching for the tiniest clues (and some items need to be triggered) and it just became more of a chore than an adventure. My only explanation is that in an effort to make the game more thought-provoking, they made the game way too tedious to be really fun?
For those who may still be interested in giving it a whirl, don't give up right from the "gong" incident that seemed to have stumped several players. There is no glitch, you have to combine inventory items and there won't be any indications or plus signs to tell you what part needs what. If you get stuck and can't figure out what to do next, return to previous scenes and search for new areas, you may flip a switch in one scene and think it didn't do anything, but when you return to a different scene, often times it activated or tripped something. If you see bolts, nails, switches, missing bricks, something unusually detailed, investigate it several times because chances are, it is important, now or much later. You may try one inventory item on an area that looks important and it won't do a thing, try using a different inventory item once you find something new, it may be the case that the item you're using needs to be combined with something before it works.
Point and Click Adventures have a fairly small fan base, some are better than others. I know it may seem like an impossible game, but once you start figuring things out you may be surprised at how gratifying these games are when you overcome obstacles and hurdles on your own! I'll add my favorite point & click game on the left in case this one isn't your cup of abandoned tea ⇜

I loved everything about this Time Management game, brought to us by the same devs who created one of my top 10 TM favs, Inc. Drac. There was a time when TM games were far and few between and we were elated with just about any game coming down the pike. Now that BF is finally "catching" on to the vast number of TM fans they actually have, we can afford to be more selective. Some of the developers are taking advantage of this niche, a gap just waiting patiently to be filled. These guys made a smart, but risky move, they took all the typical TM features and tossed them in the trash so they could reinvent the wheel!
The graphics are incredible, 3D and very lifelike. It's what I'd imagine the big guy upstairs would see, as he's looking down on us...teeny tiny people doing their daily routines lol. The paths themselves are organized, yet chaotic, but it's exactly what you'd expect to see in a real town, again, they have really paid attention to detail! I have grown so bored with the same old beaten dirt path that I follow, picking up the same loaves of bread, picking the same berry bushes, repairing the same buildings, etc. so kudos NBGames, you kept the good stuff, and ditched the boring stuff!
You can play in a Difficult or Casual Mode, and they have a Sandbox Mode a frustration-free mode with no time limitations. There are 24 Achievements to earn, some of which require you to do out of the norm, such as pausing the game or waiting 15 seconds before queueing your first task.
They still have traditional TM buildings to construct, such as, Sawmills (which requires wood from Deadwood Trees) Residential Housing (which requires workers to collect Rent) and my favorite, Brick Production factory (which requires collecting clay) I love it because it just makes more sense that you'd need actual bricks to build a house or whatever, versus sending a worker with a pickaxe to chop through a heaping pile of stone, and somehow that chunk turns into a repaired bridge magically??
You can purchase Fertilizer from the Gardener with the Gold you earn from Residental housing, and of course, you'll need to help potential voters with their dilemmas to win them over before election. You can earn up to 3 Stars per Level (45 Total) and each level gives you a Bonus Bar icon that when filled, can be used to speed up workers, add workers or resources.
Really awesome Time Management game, I'm super impressed!

Corvus has returned with dreadful news! The Dark Magician has ordered his army to take control of The Far Kingdoms. Can this wicked sorcerer be stopped, or will his dark magic consume the Kingdoms? I've always been a fan of The Far Kingdoms series, but I thought the colors were rather dull in this particular Mosaic edition. It does, however, have some good features, and they are based upon logic!
I absolutely love the variety of different sized grids on just about every puzzle, large grids, small grids, easy grids and challenging grids of every size. You can play in Casual mode where the numbers are crossed off one by one, or Advanced Mode which doesn't fill in the cells until an entire row or column has been completed.
The goal of a mosaic is to either fill in cells or cross them off logically. Each row and column has a set of numbers that allows you to solve the puzzle, sometimes it's easier to figure out which cells can't possibly be filled in, and toggling between colors allows you to narrow down the playing field. You begin each level with 1 hint, and as you fill in the cells, you will earn more hints and coins.
There are 96 levels and you can earn up to 3 stars per level. There is a reset button and you can replay any of the levels. Once the Amulet recharges you can use it to fill in 3 random tiles, and there are 6 different Tile Set styles to choose from, enjoy~

I'm still not a fan of the Argonauts Agency because, like most games offered by this developer, nothing really changes. The storylines only change slightly from game to game, the graphics are old-school, bland, colorless and cartoon in nature, the Time Management tasks are so "average" and mundane.
You can play in an Untimed, Normal or Hard difficulty mode, and it allows you to switch back and forth easily before the start of each level with an icon located above the levels. I will admit that this is a great feature because sometimes it's helpful to play the first go-round in an untimed mode to figure out what the requirements are, such as what materials are needed for each task and in which order to queue them, and then play the level again in a normal or hard mode, especially when a TM game requires a lot of strategies. (but then again, this one doesn't really require using a whole lot of strategy to earn 3 stars lol)
This is just an Average-Joe, resource collection Time Management game with the usual tasks of Building Farms for Food, Sawmills for Wood, Gold Mines for cold-hard Cash, Quarries for Stone and Markets for Trading Food for specific materials such as Stone or Gold. There are the usual nearly instantaneous Berry Bushes for a renewable food source, huge loaves of bread that in theory would scale to weigh about 10 pounds, the usual path blockers of wood, boulders, puddles, holes, and random caches of gold coins...whoo-hoo! I've struck it rich!!
This Standard Edition version is the better route to go if you like the Argonauts Agency series because the CE version is NOT worth the price. In the CE version, there are 10 pages of Concept Art pictures, 5 Music Soundtracks, and 29 Achievement Trophies to earn, and a handful of additional levels or "campaigns" as they are referred to. At least they decided to include a Strategy Guide in the CE version, for the first time. There aren't any Morphs, Puzzle Pieces or Collectibles offered to offset the price difference.

I find it ironic that a recent HOPA release included a ton of CE quality extras, including Morphing Objects and a Bonus Chapter, as a Standard Edition, because BF didn't think it offered enough bling to qualify as a CE, yet they offer these TM games as CE's when all they have are cartoon concept art pics, a few music soundtracks, and 5 additional levels??? That makes absolutely no sense! It's just not a CE worthy game, there aren't any Morphs, Puzzle Pieces or Collectibles offered to offset the price difference.

Remember back in the day when Mad Head introduced their first game? Remember how amazing the graphics were, how fresh the storylines were? Remember Darkness Incarnate, and how modern, cutting~edge, and cool that game was? Remember the first a-MAZEing game that made you feel uncomfortable because you felt like you were actually trapped and didn't know how you got there? Remember how they went above and BEYOND expectations with one of the best sci-fi experiences in a game? Back then it was a Rite of Passage, playing a Mad Head Game was like going into The Heart of the Storm, like walking into TaleWorld. Back in the day, I couldn't wait for a new MH game, what happened guys?
I'm sure most of you know how I feel about cheesy Gadgets, but this particular gadget is the most worthless Gadge I've ever seen in a game! Once you discover the secret hiding place of Henry Bakeman's Lamp, you will use the gadget 6 times. BTW: they make no attempt to explain why it dispels dark magic, how Henry knew it would work on dark magic, where it came from, and most importantly, why it had to be hidden if it works on evil entities? To make matters worse, you have to play the most ridiculous mini-game in the history of HOPA gadget games. My 3-year-old grandson is perfectly capable of matching 2 different symbols, in fact, I asked him to find the two matching pairs of symbols and he nailed it in about 30 seconds. If a small child who can't yet read or write his name, can solve this game nearly instantaneously, why bother?
There are 14 Hidden Object Scenes and 1 Zoom Zone HOP (+4 CE BC) most are Interactive Listed Item Finds but there are also Multiples of each Object Finds, Keywords in Sentence Finds, Silhouetted Shapes, Matching Symbol Finds, Pictured Item Finds, Missing Related Animal Finds, and a colorful scene where you find several Flowers that match Picture Swatches. In this Collector's Edition version, each Hidden Object Scene has a Morphing Object, if you miss one of the HOP morphs you can pick them up in the replayable extras.
There are 24 Mini-Games (+4 CE BC) including 6 worthless, pointless, repetitive Lamp Gadget games where you use a lens to find 2 matching symbol pairs. For the life of me, I can't understand why they even bothered to include a game where all you have to do is scan the lens across 4 circles? Most of the Mini-Games are rehashed from Mad Head's other series games, they aren't horrible, but they just aren't very challenging. Here are a few of my personal favorites:
1~Guide the frog to the exit by swapping directional arrow square tiles. 2~Press buttons to change the color of pie-shaped tiles to match the clues. ღღ 3~Push 4 keys into the central grid, columns & rows have specified number of moves.
The Collector's Edition Bonus Chapter takes place a month after the incident. You will play as Riley the investigator and Kevin the missing person. There are 4 Mini-Games, and 4 Hidden Object Scenes, 10 Spirals, 10 Scene Morphing Objects and 4 Hidden Object Morphs remaining in this somewhat short Bonus Chapter which takes place over 10 new scene locations.
This Collector's Edition has 11 Wallpapers (not 4) 9 Concept Art pictures, 10 Music Soundtracks, 12 Cover Pictures, 32 Profile Pictures, 10 Achievements (5 achievements have 3 categories each) 17 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 33 Mad Head Spirals (23 Main Chapter~10 in CE Bonus Chapter) 50 Morphing Objects (33 Scene Location Morphs, 17 Hidden Object Scene Morphs) 5 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a Built-in Strategy Guide.

Judge McGregor has quite a reputation for serving justice and putting criminals behind bars. That reputation has also made the honorable judge a target of revenge, and he predicted his own death! The bequeathed have all gathered for the reading of the Judges' Last Will and Testament at the McGregor Manor, little do they know, one amongst them is the murderer, but who, and what will happen to them once they are Judged?
At first, I was impressed that this new series was going to be a normal who-dun-it murder mystery. I was mostly impressed that Domini had spread their wings to add an entirely new genre, one that didn't involve supernatural Glasses (or more recently an otherworldly cell phone app) men with 12 arms, someone with a dual personality (think about it...) or a parallel universe vigilante who "seeks all" I thought it was going to be a good old-fashioned crime-solving drama, but nope, they just had to go there. They couldn't resist adding a supernatural Gadget which took away all credibility, a Watch that reveals what others are hiding, aka a cutscene. Couldn't they have chosen a portable Lie-Detector instead? Wouldn't that be more believable in a who-dun-it murder mystery? The Watch Gadget is used 6 times on 6 suspects and you have to complete 6 different game variations that are 'watch' related (and actually decent games) After solving the mini-games and watching a short clip of the suspects encounter with the Judge, you have to choose the Lie from a list of 3 of the suspects statements.
There are 12 Main and 2 Zoom Zone Hidden Object Scenes (+5 in the CE BC) They are mostly Silhouetted Shape Finds but there are Keywords in Sentence Finds, Combination Silhouetted Shape Finds (SS+SS=_) Multiples Finds, Spot The Differences, Swatches Finds (find the area that matches a swatch image) Matching Pairs, and Interactive List Finds as well. The CE also offers an alternate Match 3 game available, and one of the CE achievements is to play the alternate game in place of 1 Hidden Object scene.
There are a whopping 40 Mini-Games (+10 in the CE BC) including the repetitive 2 mini-games each time you use the Watch of Truth. The Watch game varies each time, but it is always followed by the same conclusion game of choosing the "lie" on the list of 3 possible answers. Most of the mini-games have an Easy/Hard difficulty option. Below are brief descriptions of some of my personal favorite games:
1~Use rotation & directional buttons to swap flower petals until all flowers are complete. ღ 2~Place pipe sections onto clock face to swap icons to their matching slots. 3~Swap square tiles to complete the picture, click the frame button to switch between available tiles. ღღ 4~Position the lockpick to swap teeth so the inner sections match the outer sections. ღ 5~Rotate the maze to drop the ball into the hole using squares as bumpers to keep the ball from falling off.
The Collector's Edition Bonus Chapter is a new who-dun-it murder to solve when Agatha Smith's husband Chuck is accused of murdering Dr. Sharon Jones while working on a revolutionary breakthrough drug. This is an extremely long Bonus Chapter that takes place over 10 new Locations with an additional 10 Mini-Games and 5 Hidden Object Scenes. You will collect the final 3 Evidence items, 5 Morphing Suspect Photos, and 9 Coins which allows you to purchase the final 3 Office items.
The Collector's Edition version has 10 Wallpapers (only 2 w/0 characters) 10 Concept Art Pictures, 5 Music Soundtrack, 29 Replayable Movie Video Cutscenes, 33 Achievements, 18 Replayable Mini-Games, 17 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 13 Morphing Suspect Photos, 14 Evidence Items, 44 Zoom Zone Coins to purchase 15 Office Items, 12 Missing Journal Notes, 5 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a Built-in Strategy Guide.
