Completed Game approximately 7.5 Hours (including completion of all puzzles & Bonus Chapter 32 Scene Locations +20 CE Bonus Chapter Difficulty Range: Did I mention I had to use the hint button several times?
There used to be a time when I couldn't get enough of my fill of HOPA games, I didn't really care about the story or about how I got from point A to point B. I never really paid attention to the detail of the graphics or the way the characters moved or whether their lips were in sync with their voices. I didn't care about story logic, (sometimes I still put that one off to HOPA-world magilogic) But then I started to realize that back in the day, games were far better and I didn't really have to worry about those things because the developers worried about them for me...until they didn't.
Now that they don't, I have to! So now my HOPA journies look for things that are unusual, and creative, things that have interesting stories, and above all, things that make me think, not just blindly click my way through it. If I don't know what I'm supposed to do next, that's a sure-fire sign that the developer has done their job, and done it well. That is exactly what this developer has done for me today (to me? lol) This was an extremely long game, but at no point in time did I feel any task was repetitive, at no point did I become bored, I was interested from beginning to end, I felt I got my money's worth and for the first time in a very long time, this developer makes me believe that I can let them take care of all those above details so all I have to do is worry about playing again while they take care of the details (well, technically, paying & playing) so for that, I give this developer an A+++++
Gadget/Helper: If you don't like Gadgets AND cutesy Helpers don't even bother with the demo folks because this game has enough cutesy helper gadget's to overload your brain for the entire 29-year Twin Moon Cycle alignment phase! There are actually 3 different helpers known as Moonlings, the Flame Moonling is gifted to you by your sister Yasmin for your Birthday in the first scene. He eats any source of fire, and therefore can also light any source of fire, assuming he has a full belly. Towards the end of Chapter 2, you are joined by the Frost Moonling whose source of food is ice and is able to freeze any liquid. At the beginning of the third chapter, you are joined by the final Moonling, the Chrono Moonling who feeds on energized time-sand which allows him to levitate objects with ease. As each Moonling is introduced, you will play a series of 3 mini-games to gain his trust (a bit cheesy but decent puzzles) but that is the only time a mini-game is associated with its use. The Flame Moonling is used 19 times, the Frost Moonling is used 13 times, and the Chrono Moonling is used 7 times, this includes the times they are used to feed and use their "skills" and other than dragging them to light a candle, move an object or freeze water, they just sit in the inventory bar and don't make any noise or move for that matter.
Morphing Objects/Collectibles There are 32 Rose-Tinted Morphing Moons (1 per scene) some are very small and some are fairly large. I wasn't very impressed with most of these which were missed opportunities because they had all kinds of nooks and crannies available to hide them in but they chose to stretch them out in the middle of the scene where they practically screamed: "Hey, look at me, here I am!" This would have been an awesome non-linear morph the way they had several scenes available to explore versus 1-2 like most developers offer nowadays, so I'd really like to see this up-and-coming developer stretch their comfort zone a bit, I think they could pull off a tricky feature like non-linear morphs, and this developer would be unstoppable I was a little bummed that I didn't look for a collectible in one scene before clicking the "lips" for the conversation which unbeknownst to me would prevent me from returning and therefore it prevented me from collecting that particular Morphing Rose-tinted Moon and there is no feature that allowed me to return to the scene to pick up any missed collectibles! :(
There are no other CE collectibles and one might argue that this game isn't very CE-worthy, but let me argue that I have played this entire game...and this is one of the longest games I have EVER played. I will go one step further to elaborate, there is another developer who has lengthy games but with their games, you are doing the same thing over and over, picking up a tool, losing the tool only to need the tool again in the next scene, mini-game after mini-game, HOP after HOP. This isn't the case with this game, there are over 50 scenes and only 35 mini-games and 16 HO's, I didn't repeat any task, most of the time I was at a loss as to what I was supposed to do next, I had to stop and THINK! Isn't that how it's supposed to be? So you get a lengthy game, a solid game, a game with above-average quality that doesn't involve repetitive tasks over and over in every chapter!
Hidden Object Scenes: There are 12 Hidden Object Scenes, +4 in the CE Bonus Chapter. Hidden Object Scenes have to be pretty creative or pretty challenging to grab my attention nowadays because the objects have become so blatantly obvious in these newer HOPA versions that they have become downright ridiculous These HO scenes immediately grabbed my attention with the beautiful purple glowing mushrooms, Floating Magical Books, Glyphed Shards, Night Blossoms, Oily Flowers, Glowing Vials, etc. I'm not saying they were super challenging because they weren't, but at least they were interesting to look at for a change! One of my favorite HO scenes was finding enchanted objects that were glowing such as wands and lamps, I thought it was different and rather creative.
Mini-Games: There are 24 Mini-Games +10 in the CE Bonus Chapter. They are decent puzzles that are mostly mechanical-based that I refer to as "tinkering" kinds of puzzles. None of them are really mind-blowing but they are enjoyable enough and easy enough to give yourself a sense of accomplishment that you could tinker thru them without feeling the need to hit the skip button :), Below are a few examples of the puzzles you'll encounter during the game:
1-Untangle the wires. 2-Find matching pairs by flipping over 2 spheres at a time. 3-Place various angled mirrors to direct each beam of light to its color-coded slot. 3-Connect matching sets of gears without crossing lines. 4-Find a way to fill a cup with 4 oz. using two cups ( a 5 oz & a 3 oz) using a drain to discard unused liquid. 5-Color segments of an hourglass so that adjacent colors are different patterns. 6-Adjust several springs w/various patterns until each spring aligns with the blue arrow. 7-Adjust the hands of each lens (similar to clock hands) to refract color-coded light beams.
Bonus Chapter: (CE version only) Ahriman, home of the Moons is still unstable because of the damage sustained to the Moonlight Veil by unknown forces. I was delighted to be playing as one of my favorite characters from the Main Chapter, Bahktak, although admittedly, I had suspected he would at least play as a sidekick because he is such a likable character This is by far one of the longest Bonus Chapters I've played in a long time, spanning over an additional 19-20 scene locations, so honestly, what this game lacks in CE Bling content, it more than makes up for with actual gameplay! When I say gameplay, I mean just that, there are no collectible moons and just 4 Hidden Object Scenes and 10 Mini-game within those 20 scenes.
Collector's Edition Extra's: (CE version only) 12 Wallpapers, 24 Concept Art Pictures, 10 Music Soundtracks, 7 Cutscene Movie Videos, 31 Achievements, 15 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 18 Replayable Mini-Games, 32 Collectible Morphing Rose-Tinted Moons, a Moonling Manual, 4 Main Chapters (very lengthy) +Bonus Chapter (above-average length) and a Built-In Strategy Guide.

I would have given this game 5-Stars if there was a zoom feature or a magnifying-glass feature, but some of the objects were very small and hard to see! (and I had Lask surgery almost 20 years ago so I still have 20/20 vision!) If not for that oversite, this is a top-notched, old-fashioned HOG with all sorts of extra goodies hidden in each scene, including those infamous and adorable mascots, Max, Bear, and Ninja the cats for 100,000 extra points (word modes only)
You can choose from 3 Avatars, Bear, Max or Ninja (I chose Ninja because he has Ninja skillz) You can choose from several difficulty mode options:
*Tourist: Untimed, unlimited hints, no misclicks, super hints (shows location of shields-robots-cats) *Traveler: Relaxed, timer counts up, unlimited hints, misclick penalty. (using hints in this mode won't allow you to earn speed bonus points) *Explorer: timer counts down, 1 hint per level, misclick penalty. *Adventurer: timer counts down, no hints available, misclick penalty.
Each Location has a Robot (60 total to unlock Bonus Mini-Games) a Shield-which is actually a Route Sign (a total of 150 to unlock Unlimited Mode), and a Cat (either Max, Ninja, or Bear to earn +100k points) but only in the Word Modes. This is a confusing feature because the directions make it sound like you will be searching for 5 Shields and 2 Robots in every location, but you will be repeating the HO scenes several times, so to be clear, there will only be one shield, 1 robot, and 1 cat in the current scene IF it is a Listed Word type (versus Silhouetted Shape type) there is also a Riddle Word Find. When you revisit the scene, a new set of collectibles will be added.

Gerda and Kai's love was strong enough to withstand the test of time, but they had a weakness that was stronger than their love for one another. Their love may have been strong enough to melt the icy temper of the Queen, but they were too weak to destroy her. What is the bond between these ghostly lovers and what does the Ice Queen have to do with the disappearance of your beloved Edward who suddenly vanished as the Ice Queen arose?
Collectibles/Morphing Objects: (CE version only) Each scene has an Opaque Collectible Squirrel that is incredibly well-blended into the scenery! This is one of my personal favorite collectibles overall. (my all-time favorite CE feature is the non-linear morphs from the original DP series) There are 49 Opaque Squirrels total which unlocks 5 Crystal Squirrels when you find 5-10-25-37-48 Opaque Squirrels. Each scene also has a Morphing Object which is also fairly well-hidden, but not as challenging as those squirrels! There is an available pull-out Tab that tells you how many morphs & collectibles remain in each scene.
Gadget/Helper: In March of 2012, Ice Rose had no Gadget that required collecting crystal tears so she could tell you a sad and tragic background story about how the evil-doer rose to power. In 2012 The developer relied on a Journal to fill the player in on any missing links of the story...and I am happy...ecstatic to report that not only is there no Gadget in this Remastered version of Ice Rose, but that my beloved Journal is still there, after all these years, waiting patiently for my return to Rosemount! Oh, how I have missed a good Journal! A good journal fills in the background story of each character you meet as you progress, jots down clues, codes, and diagrams you come across during the game, and even keeps track of your gameplay time. My only complaint is that the journal has a slightly annoying shake-shift feature whenever there is a new entry that won't stop until you click to open it, but I love the journal so I'm willing to give it a pass this time (don't get rid of it!) I've always wished the journal could do more, like perhaps have a youtube kind of hint or walkthrough puzzle strategy guide feature, etc??
Hidden Object Scenes: There are 20 Hidden Object Scenes +5 in the CE Bonus Chapter and a handful of smaller zoom zone hop's. Most of them are Interactive List Finds, but it appears that the "Remastered" touch inserted some modern-day Silhouetted Shape Find HOP's where you are tasked with finding 3 silhouetted images that match the image shown in the center (X 3) but in my opinion, the original Listed Item Finds were very well done, the objects were challenging to find at times, and the Silhouetted Shape finds proves that today's improvements are a step in the wrong direction. The items in the Silhouetted Shape Finds couldn't have been more obvious, this is one of the reasons so many people are recommending OLDER games during the stay-at-home-orders, to pass the time. Think about it, tons of reviewers have been telling people how they have been replaying their games from 2012 or 2013, even at pond friends, everyone talks about the oldies but goodies...nobody says "hey last week's game was the best game of all time" because they are just forgettable kind of games nowadays!
Mini-Games: There are 20 Mini-Games +7 in the CE Bonus Chapter. In the latest version of Living Legends, I spoke about how repetitive their mini-games have become and it was mainly because they had decided to add a similar Gadget feature to all of their different series with basically the same repetitive game associated with equipping the gadget with crystal tears. My fear was that this Stigma would haunt them, that all of their games would be referred to as "the ones with the cheesy tears gadget" and the super simplistic puzzles that accompanied them. Ice Rose was this developer's first game (See Series List below March 22-2012) and it proves that you don't need the gadget to tell the back story, the Journal fills it for us whenever we want to read it...and I MISS this feature! These are decent mini-games, they are varied with different styles, such as slider tiles, fragmented puzzle pieces, mechanical type puzzles where you connect fuses, manual dexterity types, and recreating images. They also come in a wide range of difficulty modes, some are easily solved, others are multi-layered and take a little more thought process, but my point is, they are all doable, they are all enjoyable, and they were all fairly creative, unlike the games of late, which have been made so fool-proof that it's almost insulting.
Bonus Chapter: (CE version only) Continue your quest to save Edward who is in a catatonic trance as you must decide whether or not to make the devel a deal in this lengthy bonus chapter that takes place over a whopping additional 14 Scene Locations. There are 7 Mini-Games and 5 Hidden Object Scenes, which does seem a bit skimpy considering the size of the chapter, but I suppose the fact that you get more collectibles and morphs makes up for that. (14 Opaque Squirrels/unlocks the final Crystal Squirrel and 14 Morphs)
Collector's Edition Version Extra's 6 Wallpapers, 23 Concept Art Pictures, 5 Screensavers, 4 Music Soundtracks, 12 Movie Video Cutscenes, 25 Achievements,14 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 28 Replayable Mini-Games, 49 Opaque Squirrels, (1 per scene) 49 Morphing Objects (1 per scene) 6 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a Built-In Strategy Guide.

What a long, drawn-out, boring story that makes no sense! Halfway through the story, I was still at a loss as to what the story was actually about. I arrive in a small town for reasons unbeknownst to me, I'm not in the least bit phased that a young man in his physical prime, just met his demise two feet in front of me upon my arrival because he was literally scared to death. Apparently, I don't actually know why I'm in town either because I've just assumed the position of Deputy Sheriff by the Sheriff's sister Amber whose now the acting Sheriff because her brother, the Sheriff, also died from getting the bejeebers scared out of him as well. (and I might add that she doesn't seem to be phased by the fact that her brother just died either, much less at the expense of such weird, extenuating circumstances) Are you just as confused as I am now too? Fast-forward a few scenes later and you'll start having a few hallucinations about giant Basilisks, no wait, that's just a doll, wait, what? who lets their kid play with a Basilisk doll?
☽☾Morphing Objects/Collectibles: (CE version only)☼ There are 26 Morphing Chimeras one per scene, that is actually nicely blended into the scenery, not impossible to spot, but it doesn't slap you in the face either!. Each scene also has either a Scenery OR Zoom-Zone Jigsaw Puzzle Piece (sometimes both) that allows you to assemble Four 12-piece Jigsaw Puzzles. Some of the scenes also have Collectible Basalists Cards with descriptions. My two biggest complaints with Elephant Games is that they never have a Collectibles Indicator Option that tells you if the Collectibles/Morphs have been found in that scene, and they never give you an option to return to the scene to search for any missed Morph or Collectible!
◔Hidden Object Scenes◕ There are only 11 Hidden Object Scenes +7 in the CE Bonus Chapter, + 6 Zoom-Zone HO's. These were some of the least creative, unimaginative, most boring un-Hidden Object Scenes I've ever seen in a HOPA to date! They are located in boring locations (I'm fairly certain most of them were located inside of a chest of some sort) the objects tiny, and at times are difficult to tell what they actually are. Most of the scenes are dark and void of color. Most of the scenes were Interactive List's, but there were a couple of Matching Pair Finds, a Silhouetted Shape Find, a Swatch Find, a Fragment Find, and a couple of Multiples of the Same Object Finds. There wasn't much of a variety, there wasn't any color whatsoever...in fact, one of the scenes required finding objects by sifting through the charred remains after a fire...I kid you not!
♙Mini-Games♙ There are 13 Mini-Games +6 in the CE Bonus Chapter. Many of the games were original or newer games, and way more creative than the HOP's were! Here are some of my personal favorites:
1-Use directional arrows to guide 2 stars to their matching slots (use the stars as bumpers to stop them from moving) 2-Rotate fragment sections into place. 4-Place 3 light spheres so their rays cover the entire grid (x6) 5-Rotate parts to guide the electricity to all the batteries simultaneously. 6-Select directional arrows to move tokens simultaneously thru the maze to electrical barriers & bypass all locks at the same time.
✯Bonus Chapter (Collector's Edition version only)✯ SAY CHEESE, There's a new Sherrif and deputy in town folks! Sherrif Amber has deputized you once again when fowl-play is running a-muck at the county Fun Fair at Serpent Creek in this equally boring chapter that takes place over 8 scenes. Everyone is in a frozen comatose state but honestly, the atmosphere is just as stale as the main game and they both move at a snails' pace leaving a trail of sticky oozy slime behind for the next Elephant games' task (to remove an object from the goo of course) There are 6 mini-games and 8 hidden object scenes and you will complete the final 3 Collectible Basalists Cards, 8 Morphing Chimeras, and 12 Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces which allows you to complete the final 12-piece Jigsaw Puzzle. After completing the Bonus Chapter, you can access the Secret Room where you return to the scene locations to find Objects in a Timed Mode.
♕Collector's Edition Extra's♕ 12 Wallpapers, 12 Concept Art Pictures, 5 Music Soundtracks, 23 Achievements, 13 Replayable Mini-Games,17 Hidden Object Scenes 12 Collectible Basalists Cards (with descriptions) 26 Morphing Chimeras, 48 Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces (Four 12 piece Jigsaw Puzzles) Secret Room (Timed HO Objects) 3 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a Built-In Strategy Guide.

If the graphics had been a little bit better I would have given this game 5-Stars because it had a lot of strategies involved and it wasn't as easy as it looks. Although it's not a very visually-appealing game, it's one of those games where you become so engrossed in the gameplay that when the demo ends you are surprised that the entire hour just passed you by.
This game is by the same developer who created the Clear It and Dig The Ground series, and they really are skilled when it comes to incorporating strategy into an ordinary Match 3 game. The goal is to select a "Monster" from a row on the field which moves from the Left to the Right (versus the standard top to bottom) and place him on another row to make a match of 3 or more identical Monsters. If you make a Match 3 or more in a Vertical Row those will disappear and the line will not move forward. You don't have to make a match, you can strategically move monsters to set-up preceding moves, however, if you are unable to make a Match, the entire field shifts to the right by adding a new column each time you are unable to make a match. If the Monsters reach the line at the far right side, the level ends and you will have to replay the entire level.
There are 60 Levels and there are no Time Restrictions so you have all the time in the world to plan your moves. The first 9-10 levels will seem fairly easy-breezy but after that, the monsters start piling up and creeping closer and closer to the edge of the border which kind of reminded me of back in the day when I would scramble to place those Tetris pieces!
Power-ups appear randomly on the board as indicated by a glowing Monster. When the Glowing Monster is included in a match it becomes 1 or 4 Power-ups:
*Bomb: explodes several adjacent monsters *Lightning: select the targeted area via crosshairs. *Rainbow: removes all monsters of the chosen color. *Time Freeze: The board doesn't move forward for 10 moves even when no matches are made.
IF this game had better graphics and entire clusters of monsters were removed rather than just vertical matches, this would be a top-notched, hard to match, Match-3 game!

Okay, I'm not implying that there's any kind of reality associated with a Time Management game, but this is a game with an animated super-hero that one can assume would attract gamers of a younger audience as well as adults. I'm also not implying that kids can't differentiate between reality and make-believe, but just for the sake of argument, can we agree that perhaps having everyone swallow a massive amount of giant speedballs in every level may not be sending the right message here?
Fortunately, I'm probably one of the few people who always manages to see the humorous side in just about every situation thrown my way. Was I the only one who was rolling on the floor at the thought of Herc taking the giant speed pills whilst I was picking every daisy in site searching for a lousy puzzle rune as some cheesy elevator music was playing in the background? (on the CE version)
Other than being able to play in a Relaxed, Casual, or Expert Mode, that was about my only positive reflection of this game. On the second level, the tutorial pop-up texts were being over-ridden by dialog boxes which the developer must have thought was more important, or perhaps thought we really did swallow those large pills? I had to restart the level and literally had to pause the game when the tutorial box pop-up appeared, explaining about the CE hidden puzzle rune, just so I could read it, otherwise, the story dialog boxes would over-ride the explanation! In my opinion, that's a huge oversight! Now that my emotions are going through a full rollercoaster range between humor and confusion, annoyance joins the ride as a barrage of blue arrows keep redirecting my line of sight all over the screen. I can see if it were a gentle nudge to say "hey, don't forget to grab this cheese wheel that's the size of Herc's giant speedball just in case you may have missed it" but I'm talking about enough flashing arrows to make you want to grab a few speed pills and run as fast as you can towards the exit button....which is exactly what I did! A few games ago when I noticed that Jet Dogs had joined forces with Zoom Out Games I thought it was a great team effort but now I'm wondering if they are going in the wrong direction?

I have a lot of respect for this developer, but I have to be honest and call it like I see it...some of these scenes were so blurry it made the game graphically challenging to play! Some scenes were so blurry that it became downright annoying to play! What really sent me over the edge was the fact that using the Magnifier to try to clarify these fuzzy objects made it even more maddening! The magnifier was painstakingly slow to respond and lagged behind the cursor at a Lazy Turtle speed rate, as I moved the Rabbit-cursor to the left, I'd have to wait for several seconds until the Lazy-Turtle Magnifier would decide to catch up to the area my cursor was on...as the Father-Timer was tick, tick, ticking down, and the only thing the magnifier managed to do was accentuate the blurriness and the frustration level of those blurry scenes even more!
The weird part was that not every scene was blurry, but none of the scenes were all that interesting either. I've never been to Japan, but I've seen some beautiful scenery on movies, television, and artwork and I could probably take a dart and throw it at any one of those virtual images and choose a better random scene than some of the dark drab visually unappealing one's chosen here...just saying, isn't this game all about representing the country the Hudson family is Traveling To? Who travels all the way to Japan to pick up a used baby pacifier at a train station?
You can play in a Relaxed Untimed Mode or a Timed Mode which gives you 10-Minutes to complete each level. In my opinion, they need to include a Challenge Mode which only gives you 5-Minutes and deducts points for misclicks. You will earn a single star on each HO location and the next location requires 2-3 stars to unlock it so you will need to replay the previous scenes in order to earn enough stars to progress.
Each scene has a Lazy Turtle to discover (once you find him he won't appear when you replay the same scene) and there are trivia facts before visiting each location. The Lazy Turtle was added two games ago but I don't understand why he is just a cheap plastic generic turtle and not the actual Lazy Turtle Logo which is one of the most adorable logos, in my opinion, of an adorable turtle wearing a sombrero and leaning up against a palm tree. If they used a transparent image of this logo and hid it in each scene it would be so much better and make much more sense! (free advertising too, never hurts) There are no misclick penalties and you can replay the scenes as often as you'd like, but each time the style changes between Listed Items, Silhouetted Shapes, and my favorite, Scrambled Letter finds. (which ain't as easy as you'd think) My biggest gripe is that the items remain in the same position every time you repeat the scene, and most of the time you are tasked with finding the same items over and over. Anyone can master a Hidden Object Scene if they stare at the same pattern 10 times in a row, right?

fromI Dream of Genie took 5 years to hit Nielson's Top 30 & didn't take off in syndication until after cancellation Larry Hagman found out about the show's demise from the security guard. Barbara Eden had to climb an 8-foot ladder to reach her Genie Bottle!

Four powerful Genies hold Elemental Powers of Water, Fire, Nature, and Air, but there is a fifth Genie who draws his powers from the darkness. No one thought it was possible to harness the power of all five elements (except for Queen Elsa, I'll Let It Go...Into The Unknown) perhaps a new element will arise to save the Enchanted Kingdom?
Gadgets/Helper: Why does a Genie need a helper? Can't a Genie just snap his/her fingers and get 'er done? I'd also like to add the comment that I flew on a Pegasus to a floating island in the sky and the second I landed my journey was abruptly halted because the bridge was missing? The answer couldn't be more obvious, I needed a Unicorn? Back to the Helper Gadget which is one and the same and obviously only added as a cuteness factor because he is only used 7 times in the Main Chapters only and only to reach items no mortal could reach (???) the rest of the time he sits on a cushy pillow (which I'm assuming I lug around this entire harrowing journey) not stirring or making a single drangonly peep...good Chakka!
Collectibles & Morphing Objects (CE Version Only): There are 15 Morphing Genie Vessels and 15 Animal Tracks with pictures and descriptions in the extra's menu. There are 51 Zoom Zone Mushrooms that can be used to purchase 15 Laboratory Items such as pinecones and a sack of flour? I have to cry foul on the mushrooms which seem to be rather magical at times and look nothing like a mushroom, in fact, they look like a blob of black magical fog tucked in the darkest corner of the zoom zone???
Hidden Object Scenes: There are 13 Hidden Object Scenes +6 in the CE Bonus Chapter and an alternate Match 3 Game available, which btw, doesn't allow you to make consecutive matches quickly. (you have to wait for all tiles to stop falling before you can make the next match) I was impressed for the first time in a long time by the beauty, the variety, and the creativity, however, the objects were still very obvious so let's work on that one, shall we? There were Listed Item Finds, Vertical & Horizontal Slider Bar Finds, Spot the Differences, Combo Silhouetted Shape Finds, Matching Pair Finds, Keywords in Sentence Finds, Morphing Object Finds, Replace Items into the Scene Finds, Matching Pair Finds, Recipe Item Finds, Swatches Finds, and one new style where an object was pictured inside a bubble and you had to figure out what interaction was required to complete the item. If the objects were a little less obvious to spot, these would have been some of the best Hidden Object Scenes I've ever seen (BG's Fam Mys has my #1 slot at the moment!)
Mini-Games: There are 15 Mini-Games +8 in the CE Bonus Chapter. You can choose to play them in an Easy or Hard difficulty mode and you can choose which mode to have them start out in the Custom Setting (you can still switch between modes for each individual game) Below are a few of my personal favorites:
1-Select up & down arrows and side arrows to swap sections of lock parts on the left & right. 2-Rotate disk rings and drag the gold bar to recreate the pattern of the red marbles shown on the clue. 3-Press arrows to add or subtract pressure in each tube to the correct amounts. 4-Trap Lazarus in a honeycomb grid.
Bonus Chapter (CE Version Only) Oops... Let's just put this back where we found it and make a bee-line for the door and if anybody asks, I was in my office the entire day! (whistle, whistle, whistle) Looks like Professor Xavier (no, not the awesome X-men professor) opened up a huge can of genie worms and let the cat out of the bag, only this was a bad#-bleep genie who's been cooped up longer than all pandemic mandates in the history of mankind combined, and trust me, this genie didn't have a computer, games, or the internet to keep him occupied! Things go from bad to really bad when you discover the genie is on the loose, and you are stuck in his past...oh, crap, this can only mean one thing, dun, dun, dun...no internet...arghhhhhh!!!!!! This is an average-length Domini chapter spanning over 6 scene locations with 8 additional Mini-Games and 6 Hidden Object Scenes, but because you aren't playing as the half-breed Genie, poor little Chakka services aren't required. You will continue your search for the final 3 Morphing Genie Vessels, 3 Animal Tracks, and 9 Zoom Zone Mushrooms (of varying amounts) which allows you to purchase the Laboratory Items. I found this chapter rather boring and unimpressive compared to the main chapter.
Collector's Edition Extra's: (CE version only) 16 Wallpapers, 10 Concept Art Pictures, 5 Music Soundtracks, 20 Movie Video Cutscenes, 38 Achievements, 15 Replayable Mini-Games, 18 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 15 Morphing Genie Vessels,15 Animal Traces (with descriptions), a gazillion Missing Notes, 51 Mushrooms, 15 Laboratory Items (purchase with Mushrooms) 4 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter, and a Built-In Strategy Guide.

I did enjoy the Build-A-Lot: Mysteries edition game at first but after a while it does get kind of repetitive, buying and selling houses, and eventually, all the upkeep and maintenance begin to seem like real-life chores. Honestly, I'm not seeing anything different in this version, the goals are the same, the features are the same, the houses are the same, heck, Elizabeth hasn't aged a single day in six years, and I have to avoid looking at her because she does this creepy eye blinking movement that looks like some kind of SOS or subliminal message. What is she trying to tell me, is she in trouble, is there a cat-burglar in the house I'm about to enter? Is the house I'm about to purchase full of black mold? Is she blinking some type of morse-code...send-help-build-a-lot-big-dreams-Tudor-stat!
Basically, this is a strategy game and not really a Time Management game as the synopsis states. You are tasked with various level goals which usually involves Buying and Selling a specified number of Houses and earning a specified amount of income, which can be accomplished by several different methods.
You can construct Houses and eventually various buildings on empty lots. When you click on the empty lot, you'll then choose which house (or building to construct) such as Rambler, Farmhouse, Tudor, Modern, Villa, or Mansion (the bigger the house, the bigger the income) which sends the construction crew to the site. You'll need to order supplies using the Materials Tab in increments of 100-50,000 units and you'll need to hire extra workers as well.
Some Houses and Buildings are already built and when they go on the market they can be purchased for the asking price or the price can sometimes be negotiated. Some houses and buildings may be better served by being demolished to make way for a larger more valuable property, especially if something doesn't add value to the neighborhood because curb appeal is important!
Houses can be upgraded up to 3 times, and each upgrade ups the rent. The goal is to make the interior of the house worthy enough to get top dollar as a rental property and when flipping houses, you want to give the outside of the houses as much curb appeal as possible with fresh paint, and eventually, landscaping which actually requires building a Garden Center first, however, the Garden Center needs to be constructed away from the houses because it will drive down the value of the neighborhood, so this is where the Strategy comes into play...it's a more complicated game than it appears!

Recently, I played a similar Art By Numbers game that ticked all the boxes I have been suggesting on every Paint By Numbers and every Pixel Art game that has been released by this developer. Although some minor changes were made on this new geometrical Polygon Art game, the developer is clearly failing to see the bigger picture...it's "all about the PICTURE" and these are dreadful pictures! Who cares about filling in a single apple or a single lemon, etc? Why do you force players to follow levels in a demo? IF there are better pictures on the other levels wouldn't you want players to see this?
The good stuff: -for the 1st time, the developer is using slightly different color hue variations which gives it a 3 dimensional appearance. -The geometrical shapes have several advantages, it gives dimension and makes objects look like crystal, there's no need for those hideous black lines, the shapes are easier to see than most shapes in the paint by numbers games. -I loved that only the current number was visible, the next number shows up when the previous number is complete (or the number is selected on the pad-no clutter) -the cursor is smaller
The bad stuff: -You can't drag the cursor to fill in large groups of numbers -The music is loud and overbearing, what happened to the sounds of nature? -Did I mention the picture selection is dreadful? -Did I mention I can only choose pictures within the current level -This is an Art game, why are all the pictures of a single item, why can't the background be involved as well? -I appreciate that you have finally added color hue variations, but just about any modern running computer can easily identify 16,777,216 different colors...take advantage of at least SOME of them! -Why do so many of the pictures involve fruit? Let's compromise, I'll eat fruit while playing, how about nature and animals for the pictures, preferably the ones I don't eat? -Why can't I have more than one cursor option? (I don't eat those ;)
