Am I playing the same game as these people that gave this one 5 stars? This is by far the worst of the Witches Legacy games and probably one of the worst games I have played in my 11 years of being a BFG member. I had not played any in this series up until recently so started from the beginning of the series and had been having a good time...until I got to this one. There are way too many cut scenes, the HOPs are lame, and the puzzles are essentially non-existent and when they are available, they take 10 seconds to complete. Their one novelty seems to be having one of the HOPs upside down. Really? I do have to admit that I didn't finish the game so there might be something interesting in one of the later chapters. But after chapter 3, I gave up. It was way too boring. Play at your own risk.
I don't recommend this game.

Dark Parables: Requiem for the Forgotten Shadow Collector's Edition
A dark illness has befallen the townspeople of Anaben!
Let's face it...I really don't care if the storyline is fabulous or not. I want some good puzzles...something to keep me challenged. This game has just that. This particular puzzle shows up several times and gets progressively harder as the chapters go on. It's definitely worth the price of the game. Now the story isn't bad either, in case that's your thing. Oddly though, the end had a summary screen that started typing the words off at a pretty good clip. I was on the last line when the screen went blank. So read fast!!

OK, let's just get past the fact that this is a MCF game. It's not the same as the earlier ones, for sure. But as far as a game goes, this is one to play. This took quite a long time to finish and it was not just a basic find an object and move along type of game like so many of the others. You definitely needed to refer back to your journal in order to complete some of these puzzles. Some puzzles were multi-step ones - some were easy and some made you think.
Now the story...as one of the others already stated, it does get a little confusing. I swear there was a name used near the beginning that was NEVER used again. And then the issue with the Assistant. I never did figure that one out. If you get it and leave a review, please enlighten me.
Other than that, the game was long, had some great puzzles, and was not just a straightforward HOP and basic puzzle kind of game. I'd recommend it.
I am pretty tough to please with a lot of these games, but I found one I really liked. I started with the demo and got about 10 minutes in before realizing that I had to buy it as I would not be happy just playing for a little bit. The storyline is pretty interesting with the player being Lady Jane, the Queen's right hand woman, who is charged with getting proof that the Queen is not a witch. Her "helper" Louis, a cutie with pretty blue eyes and not a cat, dog, or other animal like some of the other games assists her in obtaining the needed proof.
There are only a couple of somewhat tough puzzles that I would love to be able to play again but most of them are pretty easy. The HOPs are not difficult but are not all the "seek and find" variety but a good mix of the silhouettes, matching, and seeking types. Regions that are no longer of interest are closed so you don't have to worry about going too far back to find the location of interest.
This is one of the better games I've played in a while. Have fun!

This is a very nice game with good sounds, good graphics, good HOPs and just a generally good game. There is a bit of looking around and going from room to room but that's expected. My only criticism would be that the location stays open after you have found all of the objects in the location. This is a little odd. Other than that, the game is worth the money.

This game has an interesting story and some good graphics BUT there are way too many cut away scenes for my taste. The demo was almost entirely a CAS...OK I am exaggerating but it sure seemed like it. I want to play a game, not watch a movie so sorry, but I cannot recommend this game.

It is about time a sequel came out that lived up to the original. This is a super game with all of the complexity of the original MCF games. There are some incredible games and puzzles in this that I have never seen. The HOPs are pretty run of the mill but this is so worth the time and money. THANK YOU!
I recommend this game!

Grim Tales: Threads of Destiny Collector's Edition
Can you free Jackie’s parents from their deadly fates?
While the story is interesting, and the graphics are fine, the challenge is just not there. The game is split into specific "chapters" where it is too easy to find items and know where they belong. Some of the puzzles are different and I have not seen them before. Some are even a little challenging. But for the most part it is an easy game and doesn't take hardly any time to complete. I would have been finished earlier if the Atropos character would speak faster. Good grief! It was like the sound had started playing at half speed or something! Really annoying! Not as good as an Elephant game should be. Recommended for beginners and intermediates. Experts should go elsewhere.

Like the others, I have played the Dark Parable collections and enjoyed them. No more. This one stinks. The graphics are bad, the storyline is bad, the games are bad...just a bad game. I quit after about 30 minutes which is extremely rare for me to do. My advice would be to play the demo before buying this. You might just save yourself a little money.

I have played all of the MCF games and this one is one of the better ones. Other reviewers have complained about it not being a sequel to Dire Grove but the title NEVER says it is so that's a bad reason for giving the game a bad review. The graphics were really good, the music was good, and the games were superb. I do not like having to play HOGs where you have to find a dozen or so objects in a mess of a pile so it was awesome that this game had only a few of those. The games here are of the type where you have to perform some action in order for the next action to be active. It doesn't always make sense right away but it sure is a lot of fun making it work! And yes the story makes perfect sense. Don't let that keep you from playing a really fun game!
