Thoroughly enjoyed this game. Personally, there was nothing that I didn't like. It was fun, good storyline, not too many H0 scenes and the level of challenge was good as there was a mixture of easy and hard mini-games. The game was also a good length, seemed to go on for quite a long time which I like because I feel like I've got my money's worth. Wish I'd bought the CE one now as I could have played for even longer. Definitely one of my top favourites now.
Really enjoyed this game. Good murder mystery type game. Nice inventory based puzzles, not too many H0 scenes and the length was fair (not too short, but not the longest I've played). Not happy about the ending though. It just ended suddenly with not much closure on the story. Hate it when games do that. But overall, I would recommend it.
Not for me at all! Bought it because it was on the daily deal for just £2.30, but I regret it now. Felt like I was playing a child's game. Very cartoony and very easy. Stopped playing after 15 minutes.
I enjoyed this game. I had been put off playing this before now due to the cartoon looking title page. I tend to prefer the more real looking graphics but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it wasn't that cartoony after all and had some very nice real looking scenes. Storyline was good, a princess on an adventure to save her family and kingdom. Music I always have turned off, so can't comment on that. The level of challenge was quite low and the puzzles were fairly easy, but that didn't bother me as I tend to go for the relaxed game play anyway. Only big downside for me is that the game was quite short. I had just got into it and then it ended. I could have easily played for a lot longer. Should have bought the CE in hindsight. But overall, very good. I would recommend it. and I've just downloaded the Song of the Phoenix so I'll have to see if this one is as good, or better.
I'm absolutely loving this game to pieces. I stupidly played the 2nd House of 1000 Doors before this one, but I have to say, I like the first one better. There's so much to do and loads of places to visit. Plus there's not too many hidden object scenes, which sometimes get boring for me. Graphics are lovely (not too cartoony), voice-overs clear and easy to listen to. Can't comment on the music, as I always have it switched off. The only 'issue' for me was that the puzzles were a bit easy, but other than that small thing, I LOVE IT!
I have mixed feelings about this game. On the plus, the story line was excellent and so were the puzzles and gameplay. Music I always have turned down, so can't comment on that. I have to say though, I did get a tiny bit bored in the middle and lost interest. I came back to it about a week later and finished the game. This was just my personal opinion though. Usually I like really long games, but this seemed to go on forever. Overall, I would recommend it.
Very good game, enjoyed it lots. Nice mixture of H0 scenes and inventory based puzzles. Graphics were ok, could have been a little less cartoony. Length was also good, think I played for about 3-4 hours. The ending was rubbish though......if you can even call it an ending. You finish a puzzle, get a 5 second cutscene and then the credits roll! No closure to the story or anything. Really irritates me. Its like the developers got bored and couldn't be bothered finishing the game. Would have given it 4 stars if it wasn't for this.
This is a great game. Totally up my street! I played the demo and bought it straight away. Love everything about it; the graphics, the gameplay, the fact that there's not too many H0 scenes ( I get really bored if you have H0 scenes all the time) and the inventory based puzzles and normal puzzles are good. If there was any negative points is I should have played the first one before this (Family Secrets I think its called), as I'm slightly not understanding the story. But that's my fault, nothing to do with the game. Totally recommended!
A warning to people who don't like too many H0 scenes, there are LOADS in the this game! The amount of them started to drive me insane after about an hour's playing. I'm the sort of person who likes a good mixture of H0 scenes, puzzles and inventory based things, but this is mainly H0 scenes. I've been playing for about 2 hours and I've only come across about 5 puzzles and thousands of H0 scenes! (slight exageration of the amount of H0 scenes, but you get my point!) The graphics are ok, but the whole thing is static, nothing moves. Can't comment on the music because I always play with it turned off. Story not bad, I like a good witch story. All in all, it was ok, but I did start to get bored with just doing H0 scenes every time I moved around the game. I personally wouldn't recommend it, only because it's not for me.
Very good game. Length ok, and story/game play enjoyable. However.......don't make the mistake of playing in casual mode like I did. It really does hold your hand the entire way through, even telling you which direction to go/click next. Kinda annoyed me after a while as it felt like I wasn't playing for myself. That's the only bad thing I have to say though. I still enjoyed it.
