Unusual setting, very well done. The story had potential, but the plot was too undeveloped to keep me truly engaged.
Gameplay was extremely smooth. Just the right amount of Hidden Object scenes, which were generally relevant to what was going on and not too hard on the eyes. The puzzles varied in type and difficulty level. Movement via the map was very helpful, as the order in which various tasks could be completed was the biggest challenge in the game.
Overall, a good, solid game, well worth a try.
I recommend this game!

The story's fantastic - it twists pretty sharply once or twice, which I really appreciated. The heroine's great, with welcome touches of humor and sarcasm.
The world is probably my favorite thing about this game. Waiting for email replies was fun, as was the heroine's relationship with her cell phone. Great blending of the castle location and historical elements with the (almost) modern conveniences.
The controls take a little getting used to, but after adjusting to them, I love them. Got in the habit of double-checking the hints feature before leaving each room because I'm prone to overlooking tiny-but-critical objects and hate having to backtrack for them.
I did check the walkthrough about three times when I got stuck. Probably could've worked through it on my own in time, but it was more fun to keep the pace going.
I recommend this game!

It comes down to personal taste. There's a lot to love about it - great minigames, great scenes, easy to move around in (especially via map). The atmosphere and sounds leave nothing to be desired. I did need to use the walthrough a few times, mostly because there's a lot to remember and keep track of. The 'OK, now I have X object, where does it go again?' type of thing.
The HO games very nearly ruined it for me, though. They're everywhere: mostly dark, grainy, and eye-straining...and you have to play each of them multiple times. The hint button took too long to recharge for my taste. IF the HO scenes could've been skipped, or if there were about 70% fewer of them, I'd be raving about this game.
If you enjoy challenging HO scenes, this is absolutely the game for you!

One of the best games I've played in a long time: great storyline, touches of humor, challenging and varied puzzles. Loved the lack of Hidden Object scenes. The pace was about perfect. The responses when using items or searching were unique and fun - a lot of work and forethought must have gone into them.
The only thing I'd change at all is the controls. Sometimes, it was a minor pain to back out of a puzzle I didn't have the materials to complete yet. Truly that's an afterthought compared to the great quality of the game itself.
I recommend this game!
