I'm currently 50% through the third and final game in this series. (As others have mentioned, Parts II and III need to be purchased from the developer.) I will be very sad when there isn't any more left to play.
This series is atypical in a few ways that I love. My biggest frustration with many RPGs is getting lost in gigantic maps. Exploring is a big part of the fun, but when gameplay takes many days, it can be frustrating to trudge back and forth trying to remember where the well holding the Relic of Awesome was that you bumped into a week ago.
In Lilly and Sasha, the areas are big enough to be fun, but not too big. There are in game maps for some areas and the ability to easily teleport from city to city.
Especially in Part I, the many puzzles are far more important than combat. The difficulty of the puzzles varies - most were quite easy, but a few had me stuck for a bit. I was able to solve them all without a strategy guide, however.
There is a ton of dialogue - very entertaining dialogue - which might put some players off. Upgrades in gear equip automatically, and combat is fun rather than a grind.
This game is about the story and the puzzles. More than once, I have been surprised by the turn of events. Highly recommended!
I recommend this game!

The story is fantastic - it really kept me wanting to play to find out more. The characters are very well-drawn, especially the heroine's biggest frenemy, Orlok.
The battles start out very easy. They do get harder, but never very much so. The side quests are frequent and are well worth playing, for the rewards as well as the entertainment value.
There were a few spelling errors and the like, but we were having so much fun playing, we did not care. We did get stuck once or twice; the forums here at BFG were extremely helpful in that regard.
All in all, one of the most fun games I've ever played. Would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys this type of game!
I recommend this game!

Only halfway through the demo and already this is a must-have.
As the curator of a museum, the mummified body of a famous pirate arrives the evening before the exhibition is scheduled to open, and it's your job to get the exhibition ready, with the help of your daughter. Of course, things don't exactly go smoothly...
I love having the option to play mahjong instead of going through the HO scenes. Huge plus. HO scenes don't seem to be overly frequent, either, at least not yet - another huge plus.
So far, all of the tasks and actions make sense within the context of the story. Item locations and uses, too, flow very naturally. The atmosphere is great, giving the the feel of a museum after hours. I can't speak to the music, as I turn it off. I also can't speak to the Help feature yet, as the logical design of the actions and ability to switch to mahjong for HO scenes has made it unnecessary.
This isn't a speedy game - some actions take multiple clicks, characters talk to you, there is a lot of visible detail on items that aren't directly needed to advance. I enjoy this; it pulls me in even deeper into the story.
I recommend this game!

Played through the demo and will wait for the SE version, possibly.
Normally, I'll snap up any adventure-style games without HO scenes in a heartbeat. When I saw this release, I was very excited and ready to do the same.
Movement is excellent, the voiceovers and graphics are good. The tasks and puzzles are not too difficult, but not so easy that they were boring. Fairly typical fare for those familiar with this developer.
What's stopping me from my immediate purchase is a little hard to define. There's an element to this kidnapping - I think in the quality/type of the child's screams and something about the appearance of the abductor - that is taking my mind into a Law & Order: SVU place.
The creepy elements, which are well done and should make the experience more immersive, are much, much darker than the tasks and overall visual atmosphere, which is making the tasks feel perfunctory. If I were the heroine, I'd call for a SWAT team asap, not worry about whether the mother will ever let me babysit again. She uses an object to dust off a surface, presumably so her hands don't get dirty, when the last thing she's heard from the child is a chilling scream.
The tasks are typical and normally I can easily get past the ridiculous nature of some of them as part of the genre, but this time I could not. If the developer is going to go very dark, which would be great, they need to commit to it.
Highly subjective, of course, so I definitely would recommend giving it a try.

Great sequel. The interactive map made the challenges fun. It was possible to relax and enjoy the lovely scenery without getting turned around or getting stuck.
The story isn't quite as strong as the first - it starts out well, but the overall objective is very straightforward. Some of the four parts within the main story are stronger than others - I'd have loved a bit more depth to the last location in particular.
The HO scenes are interactive and the frequency is high but not over my subjective limit for Too Much. I didn't play at one stretch and am not sure how long the game was overall, but it seemed a very good length.
I agree with another reviewer that the heroine needs a new dress. Or better still, some comfortable clothes to be doing all this adventuring in! I do hope we see Kate and Gabriel again in another adventure.
Five stars for a very enjoyable gaming experience.
I recommend this game!

Five stars, but just barely.
I love the Steampunk genre and the way all of the puzzles were relevant to it - a lot of connecting or untangling wires, connecting or fixing pipes, that sort of thing.
The 'find type' HO scenes were a welcome change from the usual. TheHO scenes were visited twice, looking for a different type of object each time.
The story started out excellently, and it was brought to a satisfying enough conclusion in the SE. The big reveal was okay, if not entirely unexpected.
There is no map, but the area isn't so huge that it was too difficult to find my way around. There is some backtracking, but never to the point where I found it annoying. The artwork was imaginitive and lovely - I want one of those fireflies!
I recommend this game!

Playing the demo at this point, undecided whether to purchase.
Looks and plays a little bit like the original Legend of Zelda. Some players might not enjoy that, but I've always liked the format. Cartoon graphics are a little rough in places accordingly, as suits the style.
The characters are very cute, and the music is sweet. Combat so far is fairly easy to learn, and the controls and menus are simple.
Great kill-the-monster-find-the-treasure fun!

Played through the demo, and this is certainly going on my list of games to buy.
There's nothing really new about this game, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing because the content is well done. The story is a familiar search-and-rescue with enough meat to it to hold my interest.
Three difficulty levels, nice music, no voiceovers but I didn't miss them at all. Nice graphics. Movement okay. I was multitasking just a little bit and did not get to the end of the demo when my time was up, a good sign for game length.
Puzzles are pretty easy so far. Many objects to find and use, but backtracking is reasonable/minimal. The tasks are fairly logical.
Hidden Object scenes are all replayed, but at least they're fairly simple and easy on the eyes. They pop up frequently but so far just shy of too much.
I recommend this game!

Based on the demo, which I finished with 15 minutes to spare.
Love, love, love the steampunk feel and the mechanical challenges. Enjoyed the find-alike approach to the Hidden Object scenes, which were fairly easy and not eye-straining. Easy to progress from item to item without being at all boring. I'm left wanting to know more about the house and the characters in it.
The only thing this lacks is length. With so much time left over after playing the demo, it'll be too little game for full CE price. I'll wait for the SE and hope for a complete ending. Pity - a full length game like this would make me a happy, happy person!
I recommend this game!

This has everything I love most in a game: great story, immersive atmosphere, good mix of puzzles. The controls are smooth, gameplay is nice and long.
The villain is very fleshed-out. Voice actors across the board were outstanding. Anna's voice was the one that particularly grabbed me, as she was offscreen through most of the game but still made a great impression of emotion and personality.
There was a cough others have mentioned through the game. In the extras, the developers say why it was included, but the frequency was often enough that it was very slightly intrusive.
Although the SE version story ending is complete, I'm still glad I got the CE as there is a good chapter of bonus play, with an added twist to that ending.
As others have mentioned, there are a ton of rooms. It made for very interesting and atmospheric play, even though I did get lost frequently. A few HO scenes were replayed, but HO scenes in general came at exactly the right frequency to not cross the line into being annoying. The bonus chapter seemed to have more HO scenes than the main game, hopefully that is not a sign of things to come from the developers.
A great game - highly recommended!
