Having bought the game, I did try it on numerous occasions to get into it, but failed miserably. There is:
* Voiceovers (with dialogue); * Casual, Normal and Hard modes of play; * Interactive map; * Notebook.
The graphics are quite ugly, flat and cartoonish. I had to stare at the screen for quite a while to get my bearings and to try and decipher what objects were.
Sound is good and the music is mainly orchestral.
There is a medallion that you will use in every scene to pick up pieces of a page and to find objects. I found this annoying after a while. I didn't mind finding the pieces of the page but having to use the medallion to find objects to use when I had been everywhere at least twice got on my nerves after a while.
The hidden object games are slightly interactive straightforward. These range from easy to medium, depending on how small the items are. You will need to use the medallion in the HOPs as well.
I found the mini-games quite boring. They are not hard to do, but takes time to get in the right colour and/or order. I've seen them all before, so nothing new to do.
I played about 3 hours into the game before giving up due to boredom. The flow of the game just felt wrong and I became more and more frustrated with it.
Definitely trial before you buy to see if its for you.

REVIEW OF COMPLETED GAME
Sorry fishies, in all honesty I didn't like it. It is a simplistic game without any voiceovers which I believe should be in a game nowadays. This is 2017, not 2007.
There is:
* Regular, Hard and Expert modes of play; * Diary; * Interactive map (which is inside the diary); and * Four cute little dolls to help you through the game.
The graphics are just okay. They weren't too bad, but they weren't great either. There is plenty of colour but I feel that they needed sharpening up and find-tuned to make it easier to look at.
There are no voiceovers and you have to read everything. However, the diary is informative and helpful, so I read that instead of the dialogue. The first piece of music is diabolical and sounded like a piece of machinery working, but the rest of the game it is orchestral and played quietly is the background.
The hidden object games are slightly interactive straightforward which you will do twice. The items were clear to see and only take a couple of minutes to do each.
The mini-games are all very easy. There were a couple I hadn't seen before, so that was good. Each mini-game only takes a few minutes to do.
You will find 4 dolls (spirits inside the dolls) as you progress through the game. Each has a talent of their own which is fire, ice, lightening and stopping or slowing time. You will make use of these dolls as you go through the scenes.
All up the game took me about 4 hours - there is six chapters, so its neither too short or too long.
Overall, I didn't find much to like about the game, however, you might have a different opinion.
Definitely trial before you buy to see if its right for you.
This game is okay but it is glitchy and threw me out a few times. I also lost inventory items as well, so it was tough going to get to the end of the game. There is:
* Voiceovers (with dialogue); * Casual and Expert modes of play; * Diary.
The graphics are okay - sort of cluttered and dark in some scenes, but most of the time I didn't have any trouble finding items that I needed. Sound is good and the music is orchestral and oboe (I think).
The hidden object games are slightly interactive which you will do at least twice. I noticed that items found in the first HOP were gone in the second, which was good. Most were fairly easy to do.
There are a good variety of mini-games to play. I've done them all before, but I enjoyed doing them again. Most take between 5-10 minutes to do each, with some rotating tiles and colours to get in the right order.
All up the game took me about 6 hours or so to do, so that is good value for money.
Overall, not a bad game, but beware it can be temperamental. I liked the story line and felt an urgency to find Lily and her dad. The mutated plants are quite disgusting and ugly, which I liked.
This is a very easy casual game to play. The main game is about Nathan Wilson on the hunt to defeat the witch. The Bonus game is about Marjolaine (a shapeshifter). There is:
* Voiceovers (with dialogue); * Casual, Advanced, Hardcore and Custom modes; * Interactive map; * List of tasks board; * 14 Achievements; * Find 77 symbols in game and bonus (1 to 3 in each scene).
The graphics range from being okay to good. Some scenes are a bit dark, but you can still find everything you need. Sound is good and the music is orchestral.
The hidden object games are straightforward and finding 12 items of an item. These are very easy to do and don't take much thought. However, you can play Match 3 if you prefer.
The mini-games are extremely easy to do and you can get back to the game within a couple of minutes. I've seen them all before, however there were a couple of them that I liked doing again.
There are 77 symbols to find throughout the game and bonus which range from 1-3 in every scene. Some of these were hard to spot, but I did these first so I wouldn't forget about them and then find you cannot go back. Get them all and you get an achievement.
I didn't use the interactive map at all because there are only a couple of scenes to work through before you move on.
When you have finished the game and bonus there is a Murder in Alley to do. First find 10 ravens, then do a HOP and then restore the outline of the murder. This will all take about 10 minutes or so.
I managed to get all the achievements without putting in much effort - It didn't feel that great because I didn't have to work hard to achieve them.
All up the game, bonus and extras took me about 4 hours to do. It would have been a lot shorter if there had been no symbols to find because that took up the most time.
Overall, a simple game that is perfect for beginners. For the more seasoned player, it is just too easy and boredom can set in - which happened to me.
This game is about you, Master Detective, to stop Richard Galloway and save Dreadmond.
There is:
* Voiceovers (with dialogue); * Casual, Hard, Insane and Custom modes of play; * Interactive map; * Diary.
The graphics are quite dark, however there is plenty of colour. I didn't have any problem finding the items I needed and felt that it added to the ambiance of the game. I loved roaming around and having a good look, never knowing what to expect next.
Sound is good and the music is from the Ravenhearst series which I had turned up loud.
The hidden object games are highly interactive straightforward and silhouette. All items are clear to see. There are also little mini-games in them as well. I enjoyed doing these.
There are a huge variety of mini-games to play. Some you will get very quickly and others you will be spending some time on. There are a few super puzzles to do, however these are not too hard and I did them all. You can skip part or all of these if you prefer. I really enjoyed them. Some took me a good 15 minutes or so to nut them out.
I didn't need to use the interactive map at all because you are only moving about a few scenes at a time before heading off, so no long traipsing backwards and forwards
The diary has some answers to tasks you will need to do, so just check it out from time to time.
So do you want to get the CE or SE? The bonus is about a young Richard Galloway in the 1920s in Paris which is separate from the main game. In the CE there are 39 puzzle pieces to find throughout the game and bonus, plus all the other extras like morphing objects, achievements, trophy room, etc. So, if you don't fancy all the bling bling, then I feel the SE will suffice perfectly.
What a terrific game and I really enjoyed it. Now, this is a really long game, so you will need to get comfortable. There is:
* Voiceovers (with dialogue); * Casual and Expert modes of play; * Diary; * Interactive map.
The graphics are okay. Some scenes are a bit dark and cluttered, but I was able to easily get items that were needed. A few scenes looked hand drawn and old school, but as soon as I got off the ship (eventually), the graphics became much brighter and more crisp. The graphics are not to everyone's taste, but I was so engrossed on playing the game that I really didn't mind.
Sound is good and there are a variety of pieces of music to listen to which play quietly in the background.
Now, if you like hidden object games, then you will love this. There are a phenomenal amount of them - two per scene. These are slightly interactive. If they are highlighted yellow, then you know there is something to do with that item. I really enjoyed them as they were challenging without being frustrating. Remember, this is a long game so there are plenty of them.
The mini-games were fun to do. I've seen them all before but there were a great variety and had a few of my favourite ones in them. Some took me a while to do. What you think is easy can have a twist to them to make you think. I played them all and loved it.
The interactive map works well if you need it as there are a lot of locations to go to. I played on Expert mode, so there was no icon to tell me where tasks are to do. I'm pretty sure there will be if you play in Casual mode.
All up the game took me a good 9 hours to do. I thought that when I got off the ship, that would be the end of the game - boy was I wrong.
Overall, a fabulous game. Honestly, when I bought the game I just thought it would be a fill-in between all the big games we play and be over in 3 hours, but I was proved wrong. This game kept going and going. I could have gone another 9 hours because it was that good.
Definitely worth having a look at and putting in your collection. Please forgive the graphics, but the ambiance and fun you will have playing the game will make it more than worth it.
This really is an enjoyable game. The story line is good, there is plenty to do in each scene and there is a sense of urgency to get the tasks done. The game has:
* Voiceovers (with dialogue); * Casual, Advanced, Hardcore and Custom modes of play; * Achievements Room; * Interactive map; * Find 20 morphing objects, 20 Jewels and 12 Portraits in game and bonus; * Secret Room.
The graphics are excellent and everywhere is crystal clear and sharp to the eye. Items are easy to locate. Sound is good with lots of creepy sounds. The music plays quietly in the background.
The hidden object games are straightforward, silhouette and uncover 6 pairs. These are all very easy to do and items are clear to see and grab.
The mini-games are all easy to accomplish and I played them all without any difficulty. Most only take a few minutes to.
There are morphing objects, portraits and jewels to find throughout the game and bonus. These are easy to spot, however, a finger comes over them anyway, so no chance of missing them.
I didn't need to use the interactive map at all because there are not a lot of scenes and it is very easy to remember where tasks are to do.
The bonus game is separate from the main game, which takes place 20 years later. This had a good length, which I enjoyed.
Once you have finished the bonus, you can go to the Secret Room which you will need to find 4 Necronomix, 8 suns, 12 ritual blades, 16 runic symbols, 20 masks and 1 ghost. This is timed and you can replay and better your time if you wish. I did this in 10 minutes - can you better it?
All up the game and bonus took me about 6 hours or so to do. I really enjoyed it, however it was quite an easy game to play.
Overall, I think its worth having a look at. I liked the creepy feel and the storyline.
The liked that I could turn off Hint, Skip and Skip HOPs in Custom mode to make it a little more challenging.
The graphics are pretty good. Everywhere is clear to see and to find items you need. There is plenty of colour. Sound is good and the music is orchestral and creepy sounds.
The hidden object games are slightly interactive straightforward and silhouette which you will do twice. These are easy to do and items are clear to see.
There are a good selection of mini-games to play. These are not taxing on the brain and you can get back to the game quickly. I enjoyed doing these because its been a while since I've done them.
Throughout the game you will find the tormented souls, Annabel's diary pages and claw marks. These are easy to spot, however a hand comes over them anyway, so no chance of missing them.
The interactive map show where tasks are to be performed if you get stuck.
All up the game took me about 4 hours to play and I really enjoyed it.
Overall, definitely worth having a look at or using an extra coupon.
I remember that I have played a couple of other games by this developer which are 'Greed - The Mad Scientist' and 'Mystery of Neverville - Runestone of Light' which you could also have a look at.
This game is awesome. There is so much to do and plenty of places to visit. There is:
* Voiceovers (with dialogue); * Casual, Advanced, Hard and Custom modes of play (you can turn off Hint and Skip to make it harder); * Diary; * Interactive map.
The graphics are very good and everywhere is clear to see. Sound is good and the music is gorgeous which I had on very loud.
The hidden object games are all highly interactive silhouette - find one item to use to find another, etc. These are not hard but they still take a bit of time to do. I enjoyed them.
There are a good variety of mini-games to play which had a great challenge. Some took me ages to do. The answers to some of the mini-games and other important things you will need is in your diary. So if you get stuck, just check in there.
This game is quite mechanical whereby you will be building things and are often looking for and using items of a mechanical nature. There are lots of tiles and runes to find as well.
So, do you get the CE or SE? The bonus game is completely separate from the main game, so no missing out of any story line at the end of this game. In the CE there are 21 Achievements, 30 morphing objects and 42 collection items to find plus all the other extras that we find in CE games. If you like all the bling bling, then get the CE. If not, then SE is perfectly fine to play as well.
Overall, a great game and well done to the developers. I have all their games and often play them again a second time. Definitely comes recommended.
The main game is about you, Master Detective, to stop Richard Galloway and save Dreadmond. The bonus is about a young Richard Galloway in the 1920s in Paris.
There is:
* Voiceovers (with dialogue); * Casual, Hard, Insane and Custom modes of play; * Interactive map; * Diary; * 19 Achievements (some with 3 circles); * Find 39 puzzle pieces throughout game and bonus.
The graphics are quite dark, however there is plenty of colour. I didn't have any problem finding the items I needed and felt that it added to the ambiance of the game.
Sound is good and the music is from the Ravenhearst series which I had turned up loud.
The hidden object games are highly interactive straightforward and silhouette. All items are clear to see. There are also little mini-games in them as well. I enjoyed doing these. There is also one morphing object per HOP. Get them all and you get an achievement.
There are a huge variety of mini-games to play. Some you will get very quickly and others you will be spending some time on. There are a few super puzzles to do, however these are not too hard and I did them all. However, you can skip part or all of these if you prefer. I really enjoyed them. Some took me a good 15 minutes or so to nut them out.
There are 39 puzzle pieces to find throughout the game and bonus. Most of these are easy to spot. The puzzle piece icon turns gold when you have found it at that particular scene. It stays dark until you have found it.
The diary has some answers to tasks you will need to do, so just check it out from time to time.
I didn't need to use the interactive map at all because you are only moving about a few scenes at a time before heading off, so no long traipsing backwards and forwards.
I did get most of the Achievements, however I didn't get the 'Skip 3 puzzles', 'Solve HOPs in under 60 seconds' or 'Solve HOPs in 20 seconds' in the Extras. However, I know that some fishies love to get all the Achievements, but I couldn't manage that.
All up the game took me a good 10 hours to play and I was disappointed when it finished as I wanted to carry on.
