Beautifully crafted adventure story. Appropriate for young children. Well organized. FRAGS bright, brilliant colors – nothing drab anywhere in the scenes. Very polished and finely-tuned gameplay. Actions are somewhat predictable – fairly linear with limited backtracking. Each chapter has its own set of locations. The cutscenes and dialogue were somewhat dull in comparison to the gorgeous graphics – the mother sure has a lot of pet names for the daughter, which became very mildly annoying. Good hint sytem. Nice puzzles. Overall, awfully fun and entertaining.
I recommend this game!

Interesting murder drama. You are summoned to a resort to treat a patient and you find other people are invited to the grand opening of the resort at the same time but, when you get there, there is no staff to be found. Everyone you meet either disappears or is murdered. Story was well paced. Richly deep graphics. Very good production values. Puzzles were not very difficult. Map shows where actions can be performed; there is a lot of back and forth. Awful acting scenes and voice overs. The ending gave the answers to the various mysteries surrounding the mountain resort, however, the last 10 seconds was very confusing and I don’t know if it everything was actually resolved (gave me a feeling of “all that work and investigation for nothing”) or there will be a sequel.
I recommend this game!

Long game. You are trying to find out what happened to women who have disappeared in Maple Creek, following the footsteps of another detective. You have an evidence board on which you sort and link clues to determine what has happened. Your journal adds additional information to your clues and found evidence. Map shows where activities are possible, but it is not interactive – too bad because sometimes, there are many, many clicks to get to where you’re going. Voiceovers are pretty good. Scattered puzzles vary in difficulty. Beautiful graphics. Short bonus chapter.
I recommend this game!

Fairly lengthy and interesting game. HOS are silhouettes or lists, nicely detailed and not too crowded. Dialogue is displayed, but frequently disappears before you’ve had a chance to read all of it and there doesn’t seem to be a way to repeat it. Since there are a limited number of locations, the back and forth is not too onerous. Environments are beautifully crafted. Zoomable areas. Diary shows goals for locations and characters. Hint recharges quickly. Puzzles are integrated into the gameplay.
I recommend this game!

Over 10 hours of game play. Follows the Huntsville format. For each of 20 suspects, search quite a few HOS followed by a puzzle. The search for each suspect is timed and you will usually have to find a battery so that you can use the flashlight to search the darkened scenes (1 to 4 per suspect). After searching for clues for each suspect, you are given a short summary of the suspect’s innocence or possible guilt – but it flashes too fast. Another irritation is that you cannot just click on successive objects from the list – you must wait a short time in between clicks. Good value for the money.
I recommend this game!

STORYLINE: Play a Brothers Grimm detective and find out why children are disappearing while the puppetshow is in town. Classic Grimm tale where someone is in danger. Remember that the world we think we live in and the world as it actually exists are different places.
BASICS: Casual and advanced modes of play. Journal. No map. Can mute dialogue if you prefer to read it.
GAMEPLAY: Lots to do and places to see. The HOS are beautifully defined, not too crowded, and objects are nicely sized. Nice variety of puzzles and mini-games with varying degrees of difficulty. Adventure outweighs the HOS and puzzles; proportion of HOS to puzzles is right. Memorable characters. Some sudden surprises in gameplay.
OTHER STUFF: Music is unobtrusive, yet sets the mood for a mystery. The locations are beautifully designed and detailed. A lot of thought went into developing this gorgeous game into a very polished game with smooth and fluid gameplay. First rate by all standards.
I recommend this game!

If you’ve played the other Midnight Mysteries games, you won’t be disappointed. Mildly challenging. Interesting storylines. After the rather lengthy intro (compared to other intros), delve into 3 separate stories for clues to find Poe’s murderers. Hints are limited, so collect the ravens in each scene for additional hints. Dark and mysterious linear game, so you won’t have to consult a W/T to determine what to do next, nor will you have to use all the hints. Very good large HOS. Clear and beautiful graphics. Talk to the characters as you meet them. A pleasant afternoon of play of a little less than 5 hours.
I recommend this game!

Delightful game. Play as each of the 4 members of the Women’s Murder Club to solve the case of a killer copying famous cases. There are 9 short investigations, led by Detective Boxer. Search HOS for clues (yeah, some items are quite small) and solve interesting puzzles to aid your investigation. Storyline is well put together and easy to follow. Linear play. Very nice production values. Game is structured so that there is no question of what to do next. Music is not intrusive. About 4 – 4 ½ hours.
I recommend this game!

Really enjoyed playing this very intriguing game with its chilling atmosphere (without being dark or disturbing). When an odd box appears on your doorstep and your husband disappears, you have to find him. Kept my interest throughout. High production values and beautifully crafted gameplay. You can generally figure out at least one thing that needs to be done next. You have a yarndoll that is both cute but a little creepy and a map to help. Nice large HOS layouts. 36 morphing objects. Puzzles are fairly easy. Story is told through cutscenes, the yarndoll, and a dollhouse, for which you collect fascinating doll characters throughout the game. Just when you think you reached your objective thereby ending the game, there’s more. About 4 hours casual (my ideal game length), but wish it were longer since it was so well put together.
I recommend this game!
