I really wanted to like this. Did the trial version. Didn't 'hate' this though I didn't like it. I actually found it to be boring and un-challenging. Much too easy. I clicked the appropriate colored groups like mad and before I knew it, I quickly graduated to the next level. I kept thinking it would get better as I graduated levels but it didn't. I finally just quit due to boredom. I always say give it a try because what one person finds fun, another may find boring. I personally would not recommend this if you are like me but you won't know unless you try.
Am submitting this from the trial version. Did the entire hour and had fun but am not interested in purchasing. Started out slow and fun. Had some fun stamp information and facts which I liked. This game does require fast reflexes so if you have a disability that prevents you from quick movements you will not like this. I personally don't enjoy being put on heightened alert and don't find that to be relaxing like a hidden object game. Give it a try though. You don't know unless you try it.

I had great hopes for this game. For one, it isn't demonic and dark. Secondly, the subject is one of my favorites: Christmas! Couldn't be better, right? Not. I have played HOGs for years but this has to be up there as one of the most frustrating games I have played. I kept thinking 'what is wrong with me that I can't find what I need?' I felt like a total idiot and first-time player to HOGs. For example, when stuck and a hint is needed, the only help you can get is direction to the scene where you need to go. That's fine and I expect that BUT the game does not seem to know what you have in your inventory that is required to complete the scene it is directing you to. If you have not collected inventory items needed to complete that scene and advance, you are out of luck. All you get is repeated dialogue. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to this game. I wanted to give it the old college try but after 30 minutes I gave up. It was not worth it. I wish I could have given this a 4 or 5 star review simply because I would like to see more 'light' HOGs but I would be dishonest if I rated it more than what I experienced. Oh well... on to the next one and hope for the best.
I don't recommend this game.

This was a lot of fun. Graphics were superb. Puzzles were GREAT. My ONLY complaint was that I was expecting more of Sydney pics but that was not the case. I wish the creator had more pictures/scenes of Australia... oops... okay... Sydney. Instead, I found myself in Japanese gardens which did not thrill me. It would have been nice if the creators had kept to the subject and not diverted to a different culture (even though Sydney may have Japanese gardens). I just would have loved to have seen more of Sydney pictures. That was my biggest disappointment. Other than that - this was a truly a thoroughly fun game.
I sincerely apologize. Perhaps I am harder to please than I thought. As a general rule, this game was adequate. The nice parts involved the ability to gain hint points relatively easy and skip puzzles. The graphics were quite dark in some spots and not the clearest, making it harder to find some things. Yet the scenes with the HO's themselves were relatively clear and easy. In short, the general scenes which led to the HO scenes were difficult to see. Personally speaking, I would not really waste my $. I am glad it was given to me as a gift. Don't let me stop you from trying this. Some may find this fun - others may find it most frustrating. All I can say is give it a try - you should get a pretty good idea of whether you'll enjoy it or not.
I have only tried the trial version but intend to buy this game. Yes, it is pretty much HOG but is still fun nonetheless. Storyline is also enjoyable. If it is almost entirely HOG's you like (keeping in mind I have only completed the trial version but I did get quite far into it), then I don't think you will go wrong.
This has to be the worst game I have ever played. No logic to it whatsoever. You didn't know which way to go and had to guess what the developer wanted you to do next. I found that I had to click on the hint button so often that it became routine. Furthermore, the hint button would tell me to go this place, I would reach that spot and suddenly the hint would say, nope - go here, nope - go there, nope - wrong. Try here. It was absolutely ludicrous and there was no rhyme or reason to it at all. In short, I simply HATED this game.

Forgive me - it is late but this has been something that has troubled me periodically recently when finding a conventional HOG to try out. I was expecting this game to be that. Boy, was I wrong. I wanted to get a taste of this in the trial version and it was not what I expected. I have been playing HOG for a very long time and so after reading the reviews I honestly thought this would be just that. At a time when I was tired and wanting to play a simple HO, I found it most frustrating to encounter problem solving areas in order to reach the HO section. I only wanted to have a straight HOG without the extraneous additional problem solving, brain teaser, problems first. Don't get me wrong, there are times when I thoroughly enjoy the extra puzzles and mystery finding games within but there are other times when I just want to play a traditional HOG. This was one of those times. If you are looking for a simple HOG this time around, I cannot recommend this game. If you are expecting and wanting to problem solve from the get-go then you will likely enjoy this.
I don't recommend this game.

Unfortunately, I would agree w/other reviewers. This was difficult to follow and know which direction to go next. I gave up about 10 minutes into it. Am so glad for these trials.
