I'm basically going to regurgitate most of what every other reviewer has noted.
Here's the description for the game:
Detailed and dazzling graphics! Visit three different worlds Help the story end happily Manage resources and test your abilities!
- The graphics were pretty; however, the voice-overs were annoying.
- Three different worlds equates to 28 levels folks. 28. Yep. $6.99 as a member for 28 levels (if you choose to shell out your hard earned cash). I wouldn't even waste a credit for this.
- Manage resources and test your abilities? I found I didn't have to manage...anything. And what abilities was I testing? My ability to be amazed at this steaming pile of garbage presented before me?
There was no strategy involved at all. It was just a matter of clearing piles of resources along the path. That's it. What's the purpose of this game?
The word "challenge" was not in the dictionary for these developers. Or was this developed for the elementary level age group? If so, kudos, you hit your target age group!
The last time management game to be released was October 29th I believe. And after all this time, this is what we're given. Someone, somewhere should be ashamed to have offered up this dreck to loyal TM fans.
I can't NOT recommend this game enough, unless it's for a toddler.
I don't recommend this game.

This developer puts out my favorite games and they never seem to disappoint.
Let me start off by saying the graphics are some of the best out there. The water effects and overall texture are amazing.
The storyline is great, taking you through the Giants vs Gods mythology. During level one, you meet your first hero, Protus; level two you meet Adoris, and level three you meet Leada. From here on out you control each of these characters to gather supplies, build/upgrade buildings, and defeat creatures along the way.
The game-play is very strategic, as there are consequences to taking the wrong path. There are three levels of play, untimed, normal, and expert. You're given clear objectives to meet in order to finish the level with 1 star in untimed mode, 3 stars in normal mode and 4 stars in expert mode.
Throughout the game you'll have altars to build that provide you three different kinds of power boosts: the Altar of Zeus (freezes timer), The Altar of Hermes (speed), and the Altar of Aphrodite who summons magical sheep needed to complete your objectives. The power boosts last for 15 seconds and will cost you a minimal amount of supplies to use them.
The level of challenge is great on normal mode and even better on expert mode. There are 40 levels to play and I had a blast playing each and every one.
I definitely recommend this game!

This review is based on the demo.
I like the changes to the game, with the exception of the barf, excuse me, sliding screen option - didn't care for that at all and turned it off.
I didn't mind so much having to make 2-3 trips to pick up large quantities of items (food, gold, wood), but the timer gave you so much time to do it, what did it matter anyway? I could probably play a level 3 times over in the time it gives you before you reach nightfall... I was able to complete 11 levels before the demo was up.
While there are no goals listed on the screen, I noticed that if you mouse-over the level icon in the top left corner of the screen, you will see the goals there. The Prince's speech bubble was large, obtrusive and unnecessary.
The graphics were sharp and the music was OK. There's no options for modes of difficulty. What you see is what you get.
As another reviewer said, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".
I would recommend this to someone who's a beginner or intermediate (maybe), but for an expert TM player there's absolutely no challenge here at all. Not wasting my $$ or a credit on this one on the hopes that it "might" get challenging after level 11. Such a shame as this series is one of my favorites, and then they throw this dud in the mix.
Guess I will have to wait weeks for another TM game to make an appearance. *sigh*
I don't recommend this game.

First off, the whole premise of this theme was strange. Soviet era setting? Why would anyone want to revisit an era of government imposed repression? The main characters, Jack and Emily, speak with Russian accents, yet have Western names. What? To add more bewilderment to the mix, at the end of the trial you see an image of Jack and Emily, with Jack wearing a shirt with the Confederate flag? REALLY?? Can this get any worse?
I'm not a big HOG fan, and the only reason I played the trial was my curiosity over the title of the game; having grown up during the "Cold War" and seeing it end.
Aside from the strange background of the game, I thought the gameplay itself was fluid, and the visual and sound average.
I can't recommend this game to anyone, and perhaps some people won't even bat an eyelash at the theme. To each his own I suppose.
I don't recommend this game.

This review is based on the completed game.
I had been thinking about loading up the first installment to replay, when what do I find the day after my Thanksgiving coma, the sequel. Yay!
The storyline is different, of course, but the game play is basically the same. there are two modes of play, timed and untimed. In addition to the 40 levels, there are 18 challenge levels, and 14 trophies to achieve.
I played both timed and untimed and found quite a few timed levels challenging enough to have to restart several times to finish with gold.
The graphics are really crisp and vibrant and the background music is not overbearing.
It's your typical builder game that involves strategy to complete your goals and the timer is counted up in calendar days rather than a clock winding down.
If you like this genre, you'll definitely like this sequel.
I recommend this game!

This is based on Expert mode.
This is the story about the 12 Labours of Hercules. Although, it doesn't really follow mythology really, except for the scene with the Hydra mini boss, and the Cerebus (who chases off ghosts).
Regardless, the game is really fun to play. The graphics are crisp, the music is enjoyable and the challenge on expert mode can be a downright hair puller. It's a challenge strategically, though on some levels I wanted to toss my pc out the window. It really came down to the last second on some levels to obtain gold.
At the beginning screen when you create your player name, you are given the choice of relaxed mode or expert mode. You can't switch to the other once you've created a player. You'll have to create a new player name to do that.
There are 40 levels and 21 achievements. It may sound short, but in expert mode you can spend days trying for gold on a few levels lol
I recommend you give it a try.
I recommend this game!

Like everyone else, it took me a little bit to figure out what I needed to do.
There are 4 areas of play from start to finish. Each area has a lot of quests that earn you rewards such as gold, items and experience.
Your camp level goes up as you gain experience. You can also gain experience by gathering items.
Your quests will always be icons on the left side of your screen. Clicking on them will bring up the quest information. Read the info it gives as it will sometimes help you figure out how to complete the quest. Some quests have you go to certain places and will have a "show" button. Click on it and you will have an arrow on your map as to where you need to go.
Whenever you complete a quest, it will have a check mark on the quest icon. Click it to finish and collect your rewards.
After the first couple of quests, I was able to figure out my food dilemma. There are buttons on the bottom left of your screen. From left to right, the buttons are your store, item relocator, map, trophy and storage (when you build one).
After the first 3-4 quests, you will already have utilized the store button by pitching tents which generate income, building a storage unit and setting up a grill to generate food - yay! You can also use items you gathered, like berried and nuts to beef up your food level as well. When you make a kitchen you will have recipes to make specific things, like bread and preserves and many others.
From there it's all good. You'll complete quest after quest, building up your level and your camp, gathering resources and earning income to buy things. There's no timer so it's very relaxed game play.
The match 3 mini games in the mines are fun, the fishing not so much, but it's not something you need to do that often that it's overly bothersome.
The graphics are very nice and the music is sort of relaxing as well.
I wish there were more areas of play, but overall I had a great time playing this and I'm glad I stuck with it.
I definitely recommend!

From the makers of Roads of Rome and Northern Tales comes the story of Flavius, who's forced into retirement from an injury. Flavius is given the task of rebuilding the land and expanding the territory for the Emperor.
It's your typical clear debris from the road, build bridges and buildings and gather resources to meet your goals.
Three modes of play, untimed, normal and hard. I played the normal mode for the demo and it was definitely challenging to beat the timer to get 3 Ambers, one of which is hidden on each level.
The graphics are beautiful and the background music and sounds are nice with the option to disable.
You're also given power boosts which are extremely helpful in beating the level with 3 Ambers, but which ones you decide to use in your strategy are important as well.
I did find that once you complete one goal, you can trade those items at the merchant for gold without losing the completion for that goal. For instance, your goal is to make 5 bread and obtain 1000 gold. Once you make the 5 bread, you can trade them to the merchant for gold and still keep the completion of the bread task.
Overall, everyone should enjoy this game with the 3 different modes of play.
I recommend this game!
