This version of the game is more like a strategy building game with a touch of time Management.
You have a Main Base where you construct buildings and add decor to the town. The buildings allow you to progress in missions you take. For example, building a fire house allows you to train specialists like a fireman. You have a skill tree, a research tab, and a vehicle tab, which are all part of completing more missions via the Map tab.
Once you've started a mission, you'll have your objective tiles on bottom of your screen. Some objectives will have a time element, such as build a firehouse in 5:00 minutes. There are also a number of gold stars at the top of an objective tile that goes hand in hand with the timer. Go over the allotted time and you lose a star, and a new timer starts, and so on. It doesn't prevent you from completing the mission; however, it can determine if you complete a mission with 5 stars or less, or 100% or less completed. The percentage complete is noted in the Map tab under the archive button. It allows you to replay the missions to improve yourself to earn more money. The better your score, the more money you make. Money is used to train specialists and buy decor for the main base.
The other tabs at the bottom of your mission screen are easily identifiable with icons such as:
- Crane: to construct buildings - Person: to train reinforcements (rescuers) - Wrecking Ball: to demolish a building - Cash Register: to purchase items, such as a rope used to climb and reach resources on the map - Checklist: to view all objectives for the mission
All your buildings are built on designated squares and are tied to a power plant in order to work. For example, in a grid of four squares, you can have a power plant, a burger joint, bank, and a sawmill. When placing a power plant, you'll see what squares it powers with a green highlight over the grid. This is helpful in determining where to place a power plant. As you discover more of the map you'll come across new grids, where you'll add a new power plant and additional buildings that you'll need to complete your mission. Heavy on food but short on cash? - build a second bank. The choice is yours as you determine the resources you need most as you progress. You can always demolish a building to build something different. You'll get your initial building materials back when demolishing.
Because it's not your typical timer bar winding down type of TM game, it allows you more wiggle room to find your flow and have fun building and moving along, discovering new things. You just need to allow a few missions to really get a good understanding of what you're doing.
Also, if you hit the escape button to pause the game, the pause screen has a guide and a help button. The help button is really useful to explain the building types and how they work, what they do, mission guides, character info, etc.
If you're not open to any kind of change then this is likely not for you since it's not typical and not super easy. It's fun and challenging and I really like this version of the game.

This game offers 100 levels, plus additional levels if you purchase the CE. I waited until at least level 50 to offer my review.
I played normal mode, and although it wasn't as challenging as I'd prefer, after the first 10-15 levels, I did find myself having to replay some levels to make 3 stars; however, that was mostly due to applying the wrong strategy.
Overall the game play was enjoyable - it makes you think a bit. No bugs, no offensive graphics to look at and the music was OK.
I've seen far worse TM offerings and I'm not sure why this one has 3 stars. What other TM game can you recall that has 100 levels and then some? For the money or credits you spend on this, it's worth it.

I remember enjoying the first installment of Katy and Bob back in 2013, so I was eager to play the second installment. I caught this game on a sale day, and was able to purchase it using a game token, that I wish I could get back.
What a disappointment. The original had relaxed and normal modes to choose from; however, the latest version is a step backwards and only offers one mode which is easy for me, and not fun for those who prefer a relaxed play.
I've already blown through 36 levels, and have only had to replay one, which I still didn't meet the goal. Don't ask me what level though because I moved on to the next level.
The game changes the level button to a bronze color even if you didn't complete the goal, so I have no idea what level it was that I should go back to. Usually you'd see something like yellow for gold time, etc. I guess because there's no actual timer, it doesn't really matter.

This isn't the first point and click game I've played in my lifetime; however, this one was different from most.
I played this in beta, and at first glance I wasn't sure what to make of the scenery, as well as the subject matter; however, as I went along, I found myself wanting to delve further into the game.
Be sure to check out the game settings before you play. You have keyboard binds you can use/create for camera options within the game. Also, getting back to the main menu is as easy as hitting the escape key.
I strongly urge you to try the demo with an open mind. Not everything is shiny happy. Even dark things can be surprisingly fun.

It feels like a half-year ago that I beta tested this game, and am so thrilled for it's release!
I've played the previous installment, and look forward to the continuing adventures of Dracula and his family.
The game has three different modes of play, normal, multi-click, and relaxed, which you can change at any time without having to first complete the current mode you are playing.
The music is lovely and fitting for the setting, and the story-line is funny and engaging. There are collectibles on every level, as well as gifts on random levels. There's also Cosplay sheep haha!
The challenge is on point after the first 10 levels or so,and gets progressively challenging as you move forward.
For those who don't think TM games are worthy of being a CE, I ask you, what's the difference between a Hidden Object CE and a TM CE? Both have wallpapers, concept art, music, achievements, collections, bonus chapters and a strategy guide. Why is one worthy of a CE and the other not?
Personally, I could give a flip about the wallpaper, concept art, and even the music (I like it in game, but I'm not going to loop it all day outside of the game).
I enjoy the bonus levels, 15 in all for this installment for a total of 55 levels of play, and the strategy guide will certainly come in handy on later levels I'm sure!
All CE games are offered within a months time as Standard Editions, so if you don't want to spend $$ for the CE, then wait until that time to purchase the SE version.
The game really is fun to play and I recommend everyone to at least play the demo to form your own opinion.

This game leaves it all up to you to figure out how to escape Research Facility 47.
Hand-holders beware, there is no map, sparkles, journal, or dialogue to assist you on your journey. If you want any of these things, this isn't the game for you.
I enjoy exercising the brain, and trying to piece together puzzles and information.
There is a hint option, which I used during the demo, just to see what it was like. I wish it was a more progressive hint system, rather than just spitting out the answer as it did for me with the one time I used it.
Be sure to have a pen and paper handy to keep track of information that may be important clues along the way, otherwise you'll have to trek back to find the clue again.
Other than that, this game has really nice graphics, and the story makes you want to continue on to try and figure out what happened in this desolate place.
I highly recommend that you demo the game and try it for yourself!
I recommend this game!

Hidden Object games of any kind are generally not my cup of tea; however, I like when games have a creep factor. Reading the reviews persuaded me to play the demo, and although it's not the full on creep factor I enjoy, it does have a sinister sort of element to it that kept me interested.
I'm not much into story-lines, so, less the better in my opinion. Leaves more to the imagination, I think.
The graphics were fantastic, and the music and ambient sounds were appropriate for the scenery.
I like that you can customize the difficulty within the game, so that I'm not forced to have my hand held every step of the way. The HO scenes are not run-of-the-mill, and the puzzles are well done and challenging.
I purchased the original Phantasmat when it came out and wasn't thrilled with it. Because of that I never bothered trying the next few installments; however, I went ahead and picked those up as well as part of the bundle sale for cheap. All because of this latest installment.
I recommend to folks who typically don't play this genre of games. You may be pleasantly surprised!

If you're not into fast-paced TM's, you'll enjoy this game. I hesitate to categorize this as a time management game; you can knit a sweater and complete the level in the time it takes to knock off a star on the timer.
I had a discount coupon expiring today and figured I'd use it on this one. I have the first installment of the game, which I recall enjoying, even though it's short and easy.
The graphics are cute and the tasks are laid out and easy to accomplish. I just wish they added different modes of challenge.
It's hard enough to squeeze TM games out of BF these days, let alone good, quality TM games among the plethora or boring HO's they throw at us.
Beginners and intermediates enjoy! Advanced players, have at it if you are bored and have a freebie you want to get rid of.
