In this magical DragonScales sequel, form color combinations of dragon scales through 150 totally new levels and throw down the cult of the Eternal Prophecy of Darkness!
I have both the previous versions of DragonScales and I loved them, however this one is much too difficult. By the time you get to the 7th level, it almost becomes impossible. I checked the forum for help and was able to get beyond the first more than hard level, was able to progress a couple of more, but them stalled out, could not find help and had run out of money to buy help from the elf. So there ya go...spend hours trying to get beyond a level or just quit. So sad, I have loved these games in the past but do not have the patience to spend 1-2 hours trying to work out a puzzle. Game does not let you skip a level, you are just dead in the water.
Didn't appear by the forum blogs that I was alone in my frustrations.
Well, I thought when you chose "casual" that is what it meant. Although there is apparently no timer on casual, you do have to beat the daily sales quota which gets higher with every level. You get three tries to do this, if you run out of re-trys your game is over and you have to start a new game. I
I get to about level 9 which has a $17,500 quota and can't seem to get past it....which does not make this game any fun for me. Unusual match 3 which gets a bit getting used too. Glad I got it on sale, even then I spent more than I think its worth. Definitely NOT casual game to play. I found that misleading.
I started out playing the demo which I'm glad I did. Usually when I have several in a series, like this one and it seems to have good reviews I skip the demo and go straight to purchase...that would have been a mistake with this one.
It started out well, but soon the gameplay got very awkward and even confusing. The transporter map was confusing and even on the custom setting the hint and skip were somewhat slow.
HOS were inventive but the puzzles were complicated with very vague and confusing instructions. I skipped them all. The game was mostly puzzles and HOS and the storyline was confusing too.
I quit about half way through the demo, I found myself becoming distracted because the game play was so slow and tedious. SO glad I didn't spend a credit or money on this one.
I really enjoyed this game. Usually I don't play a game completely in one sitting, but I did this one. I found the game more challenging than other HOS games I've played.
HOS were interesting and varied and easy to see and play, which made them fun. Puzzles were good, somewhat challenging so I skipped a few. Storyline had a twist but the game ended a bit abruptly...which was the only down for me...would have like to have seen a better conclusion.
Game ran smoothly and was not as obvious in solutions to some issues as other games I've played, which made it interesting and a bit of a challenge. Map was good, but I used the hint a lot, which is unusual for me so I feel the game was more challenging than others I have played lately.
Game must have been about 3-4 hours long since it is now 10:15am and I started about 7am ish. I tend to lose track of time when I play a game so interesting.
I downloaded this thinking it was a match 3..well I guess you could call it that. It was mostly matching 3 weapons to beat an opponent. As you travel through the game board you basically pick a fight with a dragon or whatever and a match 3 board comes up that is really just trying to win against the opponent. Got really boring so I didn't even finish the demo.
I've seen this in other match 3 games but they just pop up as a special "feat". Disappointed...so hard to find a good match 3 anymore.
Besides being quite a short game with a bit of an empty plot, the game was full or tedious puzzles and, at times very dark HOS. Had to keep clicking in dark corners to find objects. Really got tired of puzzles popping up all the time. More HOS and Puzzles than story.
Outside of all that, the game did move along smoothly and without much challenge. Transporter map was good, but the hint was a transporter hint so you could use either one.
Custom mode allowed you to customize the game, but the hint and skip would only go down to 15 seconds which seemed an eternity when trying to by pass the innumerable amount of puzzles.
Seriously, not one of this series best and I would only recommend purchase if you could get it on a credit or as a daily deal. Not good enough to waste full price on.
I have the whole Laruaville series and I love them, however this one was fun, but didn't seem as challenging and a lot of the same-o, same-o which got a bit tiresome after awhile. However, I do play on "relaxed" mode so maybe its a better challenge on timed.
There are the bonus games (40 of them) after the initial game is finished, which continues the play without the "builder" option. Some of those can be quite challenging and use a bit of planning.
Color was a bit dark at times. Some HOS items were hard to locate. Options gave you the choice of no timer on the puzzles so that was great for me since I really don't like them, but they appeared to be different and could be challenging. Hint also recharge quickly.
Transporter map was very good and I used it a lot. Voice overs were OK and I turned the music down. Long enough to enjoy playing it and feel you got your money's worth. Storyline was different and it leaves you with an open ending which was OK in this case since it was based on a bunch of kids telling ghost stories around a fire...remember doing that?
Not so riddled with HOS and puzzles that you lost track of the story. Something different, I enjoyed playing it.
Started level 1 of the demo and realized there is no option to play untimed, but the one thing that turned me away immediately is you can't make a move until the game stops dropping jewels...meaning the timer is going and you have to sit and wait for your last move to complete. Frustrating and annoying....sorry, no buy.
