The first thing you notice is this is not designed as a PC game. It has a full screen mode that shows a small phone sized play board mid-screen of your PC monitor.
I was going to give it 2* because I know how much effort goes into making these games and I really hate leaving bad reviews. But, the lowest options are 1*= Hated it & 2*= Disliked it. I really hated this game. It is listed as an "M3 reimagined" and maybe I just don't see their vision.
I have a Windows 7 gaming computer and right off the bat it didn't want to load and gave me error messages 3 times. It has so many errors it was just barely playable on my PC. I rated this game on what I could see & play of the game and not on its incompatibility problems. Finally I got in; it has a page of “how to play instructions” & you will need them.
3 modes: Journey- Reach level 10 & complete that. Arcade- Play as long as you can but time does matter. Time trial- You have 3 min. to complete the level.
3 powerups- (I'm trying to contain myself. lol) They are "Rescue, +1, & Metamorphosis"
Options have a "gamepad vibrations option" because again, this game was designed for a handheld device (which would surely cost less for the app.) I’m sad to say I wouldn’t even play this on my phone.
When I completed Level 1 it congratulated me for a job well done. Then it restarts level 1 again, rinse, play, repeat, "Job well done, Congratulations! On Level 1". Seems I was extremely skilled at Level 1 but honestly didn't recognize when the ending actually was.
Really I am shocked this game is being offered here.
I like the story based on a healer & animals. I am really tired of most of this dev storylines involving "monsters". I honestly mean to help with this message for Domini Games.
I'm not sure why Domini is so resistant to change what the reviewers have been suggesting for years. I am at a loss as to why they would change their dev name to Do, instead. Most of us that review a lot have longevity here at BFG and honestly mean well with the criticism in our reviews. It is in hopes the developers will make a few changes that will help them sell more games and get higher ratings. We are the ones actually buying them and playing them. Imo, the reviewers have truly been trying to guide you to make changes that would help you. I will try to point out the weaknesses this game needs to fix as I used to be a vocal fan of positivity for this dev. I have always been one of their biggest cheerleaders.
- The repetitive tasks that make the game longer. Instead I would go back to the roots and create more HOS to slow up the gameplay the way the older HOPAs do. Play some of the older games I have listed to see why they work. - Don't hand feed the gamer the codes to everything with a sticky note. Let us use our brains. - Ease up on the # of mini-games. - Make the game shorter. 3.5 - 4 hours (with a 1hr bonus play that has all new scenes.) Some may disagree with me but there is no reason to purchase the CE in this case for someone that doesn’t care for this bonus content. - The CE content should be changed. Most of the reviewers (over time for your games, don't like collecting 70 or so items to buy things to deco a bedroom. I personally purchase *every* CE that has a screensaver. The best I’ve seen for CE content is with MCF Shadow Lake which showed a short video of the devs making the game behind the scenes. I really loved seeing the artists that make these games I love come to life.
- Remove the characters covering the wallpapers. Put all the characters on *one* wallpaper to cater to the gamers that like those, but most don't. Just show your beautiful scenery & artwork.
- Completely lose the repetitive storylines (most involve monsters.) Ditch those and try something completely new. Look to the past games that have a high rating. Think of cool stories such as the Reincarnation series, Veronica Weaver Catch me if you Can, The Agency of Anomalies series, F.A.C.E., Paranormal Pursuit: The Gifted One, Brink of Conciseness Dorian Gray, True Fear Forsaken Souls, Beyond Light Advent, Time Mysteries: Inheritance & Maze Subject 360.
- Change up the time of day in the scenes and color scheme in the graphics to break up the monotony. I won't even play a game that has an abundance of purple anymore. - Every game put out now has that shadow bullseye when you click the mouse. Please remove that. I've actually read reviews that said they stopped buying your games because of that. - Instead of using the profile name as the main character, please let us hear & see the main character. I play so many of these games that I will name the profile with the date so I know when I demo'd the game. So this game would be "6x30x22thu". It really creates a disconnect with the characters if you can't see or hear them. This is my biggest dislike by this dev (along with deco a bedroom.)
- I adore those reactive items in all your games. They are more fun for me than the collectibles. - I adore your creative artwork and beautiful scenes. You have great VO’s and I love spending time in the scenes you create.
I am so sorry to pick this game apart. I honestly mean well and hope you follow the advice and guidance that has been left by your loyal purchasers & fans. I hope we will all benefit in the future.
(+) You can just feel the TLC this team put into this one. (+) These are creative, artistic and gorgeous scenes to spend your time in. (+) The fact this is offered as an SE and not a CE on day 1 has prompted me to hit the BUY key today- its first day out.
(+) There is 1 interactive word (in white text) per scene which requires you to complete an object with another one. I loved those and wish they had more. I’d prefer entire scenes of these, instead of the scrambled words type of HOP….which I don’t care for. (+) I really loved finding the 3 cats (wow, these cuties really get around the country. lol) I especially loved the ones that meowed when you find them. I wonder why they didn't all meow though; it was kind of random. (+) They allow you to choose what scene you want to play and what type of HOP you want to do, such as regular list, scrambled words, 50/50 which was like a crossword guess, etc. (+) This game has a lot of different settings in options. It's like this dev is trying to cater to all of us. (+) I especially liked finding the robots (one per scene) & the cats (also 1 only each time you play the scene.)
These are the things I thought could be improved, but honestly they are just minor.
(-) Wasn't a fan of the overpowering music and shut it off after about 20 min. in. And, (-) There are no environmental/ambient sounds (like Our Beautiful Earth 5 does so well), so when you turn off the music there is no sound other than the game effects. (-) No movement within the scenes at all, just static HOS. (-) Graphics are nice but some scenes were a bit too washed out in areas in some scenes.
This is a great game that comes highly recommended. I do feel it would have benefited from a few things such as some movement within the scenes and some ambient/environmental sounds when you shut off the music. Also, full scenes of the interactive items (the one item in white text ea. scene) would have perfected this game.
I can't wait for this DEV to get to my neck of the woods with a new one called: Road Trip USA #4: New England (and focus on Boston, Lowell & Salem MA, and beautiful mountains of NH & VT) ;) I will be the first one standing in line to buy it too!
This fun HOG was developed by Max The Cat Studios. Please give a special treat to each of the stars of this game (from this fan)… the 3 beautiful cats... Max, Bear & Ninja :)
Based on 1hr demo (I got to level 7) It's more like 3.7*
The fact it's released as an SE not CE gained a star from me. I do think new players to this dev will really like this one. I own a few by them and they all tend to be a lot alike. Same sounds, same mechanics, those popping bubble tiles....
Relaxed & timed modes (no limited moves)
Even on relaxed this is not the most chill game I've played. I think the players that prefer strategic M3s will like this more.
The story itself felt a bit M3 generic to me. Take it or leave it. The intro is still pictures that have story narration by a VO. As you add to the build area you get more of the story which requires you to click through "talking text". I didn't care about this story so I was skipping it in later levels.
This game gets tricky quickly in so I realized I was holding my tools to use if I got stuck instead of right away. You will find the majority of gameplay is chipping away at blocked tiles. You match beside, over, through ropes, through stone, etc.
I wasn't all that big on the tile designs. Every level seemed to change 1 tile design but it would have been better with more than 1 imo. BUILD AREA: It has an area you add new pre-selected sections to. I wish the moving items in this world were a pinch larger. By 10% into the game I loved getting the little cattle & horses to watch but they are super small. I also wished it would have allowed smaller sized upgrades, so we could use our earned M3 currency (stars) to upgrade more often. The music was good and fit this game but repetitive so I turned it off near the 1/2 hour mark. The game effect sounds are the same as all this dev games and I would love for them to change up the game effect sounds per series. Especially that awful "bbbrrriiiinggg" sound they use (usually @ m5, but in this game it's with m7.)
It's dev by Efun-soft & my favorite game by this dev is Amanda's Magic Book 3 The Spirit World.
I'm basing this review on what I could play & see of the demo and not on the fact it has bugs that make it unplayable.
I am surprised this game is offered as a CE to begin with since I think there are some (SE's only) that are way higher quality. Modes: Limitless & Endless Adventure mode is available but Trials & Infinity mode are locked currently in this CE.
(+) Music is excellent (+) It has a statistic page
(-) I didn't like the tile icons at all (-) I didn't like the graphics either (-) Gameplay is super sluggish
This demo allows you to see the extras. Wallpapers & dl music tracks, 4 bonus trials (each with 8 levels.) None of this content would inspire me to pay double for this game to begin with. If it were another CE of Farmscapes or Cradle of Egypt, that would be a different story.
As other reviewers said, you can't get beyond level 1, which requires you find 10 red tile icons. I just wanted to add my 2 cents that it can't be played on Windows 7 either. You need the Windows key, or Control/Alt/Delete to get out of the game. If you try to get back in, it starts from the very beginning again. It's dev by: Made with Unity, Alaware & Mellore
Based on completed demo only (My rating is more like 3.8*) This is a multiple HOP-MG kind of game. Not a HOPA; because there is no adventure.
FIND 2 PICTURED ITEMS: In addition to the regular HOS items, each scene has a tree stump on the L & R sides of toolbar. On each stump is a pictured item to locate. The ones on the R stump go into a scene (with an achievement like icon.) In the demo I couldn't figure out what the purpose of that was as they were all unrelated, random items being placed on a lawn.
20 (22) items in EACH HOS to find. They aren't shown as a list but 3 at a time until you find all 20. Plus the two extra items each scene has.
BLUE COLORED ITEMS: Each HOS has one item listed in blue text. It can be clicked on to change the item to find one of 3 items instead. In one scene the item was "parrot" but when I clicked a tan bowl instead, it crossed parrot off the list because tan bowl was one of the other items. I wasn’t clear on the purpose on this until reading the great review by Suelovesgames.
MINI-GAMES (MG): Every so many scenes is an easy MG to play. I liked the Match 2.
STORY: I liked the comic book style delivery of this cute story.
CHARACTER DESCRIPTION NOTEBOOK: Every so many areas you get a new character to read all about.
I didn't like these things as much:
SECONDARY SCENE GLITTERS: These don’t turn on/off when an item is currently in the scene. Instead, they stay on all the time; not sure why.
MUSIC: I thought the music was overpowering but I loved the environmental sound effects, so I turned off the music and turned up the ambiance slider. MULTIPLE ITEMS: A few scenes had more than one of the listed words you are looking for. For example, scene 2 had 2 umbrellas and another scene had 3 pipes (2 were woodstove pipes) but only one was the right one.
PLAY THE SCENE THROUGH: If you need to stop in the middle of a HOS it won’t save where you left off and you have to start over. I liked the newest version of MF better (with Ballerina in title) and bought that one already.
This game is so much fun. I would rate it higher than 5* if possible. If you like this demo/game try these really fun TMs thought were similar: (I purchased and completed all of these too.)
1. Wedding Salon 2 2. Jet Set Go 3. Bella Design 4. Sally's Studio CE 5. Chloe's Dream Resort 6. Beach Craze
I wish they would make another Bloom! A Bouquet for Everyone because I adored this game! Thanks so much to the DEV. Beautifully done.
I really loved the concept of this game and the storyline about the spirit world. It was beautifully illustrated. The tile icons were also perfectly done. The boards are large and fill the screen with nice backgrounds. It has crystal clear graphics.
It has a “build area” (the land of spirit) which you add to by collecting stars to purchase upgrades. I loved how they gave you a bit more of the spirit world tale with each new upgrade.
There are only two things I didn't like as much.
- The same song loops over and over but thankfully it's a good one that seems to fit the game. However, it would have been nice to have more songs. I ended up turning down the music & sound.
- This DEV almost always uses the same exact match-4 (or higher) "bbbrriiinggg" sound that grows really annoying after an hour. I really wish they would change up the game effect sounds in the series.
I actually liked this game better than the one they released today, Amanda’s Book 5 Hansel & Gretel. I’d love to see them do another game based on this spirit world. Well done!
I've noticed a lot of this dev games are very similar. I took a long break from playing them because they had the same sound effects and game mechanics every time. I noticed they stopped bouncing the icons off the bottom which is great. Some of the sound effects are still the same and I wish they'd change that up a little.
I did like this game and do recommend it. The graphics are sharp & clear, it has a build area, and a story (the VO sounded a bit slow & robotic but you can skip it.)
I think the new players to this series will love this game but it may not be as loved by the peeps that own some games in this series already.
I only got through 5 levels in the demo time. I was a bit hard on the first installment of this series and liked #3 better but I'd say my end rating for HT3 is more like 3.8*.
I liked: - The clarity of the icons. They aren't just cartoonish like we see in some of the M3s. They have more of a 3D feel which I really liked. - I like M3s you can fast match and this game is very quick in that regard. - It has good sound effects - I loved the ???/Hint, question mark feature. If ever you are stuck click the ? on the R side of screen and it will point out how to progress.
Didn't like: - There weren't enough icon/rune changes between levels so the entire demo just felt like I was playing one long M3 board.
- In HT1 I mentioned that I didn't like the spider icons because they look like ticks. They still look like ticks. - You must spread fire from cell to cell across the board to melt some ice tiles on the opposite side of the play board. I'm pretty sure all the levels I played had that feature, which I'm not really a fan of. One or 2 levels would be ok but not so many levels back to back.
- I really disliked the "build/design area". You get in-game currency to decorate a house but it was pretty unappealing and so were the items you obtained. - The items in the decorative room are too expensive too. - Need to fix and add to the music.
I wouldn't ever pay the price of the CE for this and surprised it was offered as one. The simplistic M3s have usually only been offered as SEs historically.
I didn't think this was a bad game but there are other M3s I just like way more. This one could be so much better with a few changes.
