Really deserves 3.5 stars. The story is good and flows, even if it isn't unique. The HOS scenes are good, interesting, probably the best part of the game and the minigames you've mostly seen before. I don't like that you have to use a hint to get instructions for a minigame. The game also ran slow for me. It would have been nice to have a map that allowed you to jump from place to place. It's not at all difficult, and there is only one mode of play. The graphics make it better than average, but it's pretty short, even for an SE. Nothing scary except for the 100+ yr old lady. My advice: play it, but buy it on sale.
I beta tested this game, and wasn't really impressed, but I don't think I'm the target market, I think it's for tweens. I like dark macabre games, this is a teenage adventure. I only played the demo. There are easy HOS scenes but not much else. Adventures like putting on makeup and catching frogs just don't do it for me. The teen conversation was boring to me. There are plenty of odd unexplained holes in the story, such as why is the biology professor dressed like a 18th century prince?
I'm really underwhelmed by this game. It's the typical generic rushed product I've come to expect from this developer. It's a bunch of ideas thrown together (some that truly conflict) and not fully developed. Don't expect creepy or macabre, the only thing this developer can draw well is crying children (thankfully there are few of those in this one). It's like Haunted Legends the Undertaker: corpses/zombies look too good, too alive. Borrrrrrring. Note to developers: a maze isn't challenging or fun if you give me the route. Let ME figure it out! You can't in this game, you can't even travel the mazes until you find the solutions, and if you take the wrong route, it immediately brings you back to the beginning. The HOS and minigames are the usual. Hope you like reconstructing broken items, there are several of those in this game. Hard mode is not hard, but blessedly free of most of the black box comments/hints that ruin so many games. Don't think it's worth the CE price, with another bonus game that promises one thing and delivers another. And oh boy, I get to replay the HOS and minigames for my CE price. It's also pretty short for a CE.
If you buy it, wait for the SE, you aren't missing anything. And if you haven't played the first, skip this and play that one.
This is another "save my brother from the creepy guys who want to take over the world and let evil reign" games. Sigh. It isn't done particularly well in any aspect. I have no idea why they included human "actors", they add nothing to the game. Similarly confusing is the presence of what appear to be dolls with colds, they are in many scenes, HOS, and minigames. Thankfully my game had no sound but music (which is repetitive and annoying) so I didn't have to listen to voiceovers. There is no map so you have to trek back and forth. The HOS and minigames you've seen before over and over again. Some of the tasks are truly pointless: there are candles everywhere you look but you have to make some to progress in the game. I played on advanced, at least there were no sparkles, but the game was too easy. I got bored halfway through, but finished the game for the review. I'd only buy this as a daily deal, and if you are really bored.
I don't recommend this game.

Wow, another sleeper, great game and better than a lot of CEs
I usually don't play games with bright, cute graphics, but this one isn't syrupy fairy tale, it has enough grit to be interesting not childish. Loved the characters and fauna. This game is a unbelievable length, could have been a CE. If you play on advanced mode there are several levels to a puzzle, adding to the fun. There are a lot of puzzles, a lot of chapters, and a map so you can move from place to place. You have to find parts of things throughout the game, and for once they aren't right in front of your face.
Another great game that didn't get much "press" on the BFG site. I guess they are too busy trying to convince us that the latest MCF is actually a good game.
This game has plenty to do, many HOS and many minigames. It is well worth the SE price. Despite the "exorcist" title, it's hardly scary or dark, which is a minus for me. The black box comments, however, nearly ruin the game. Not only do they tell you want to do, they tell you often before you have the item you need, killing most of the fun of the game. It irritated me over and over again. This one just barely gets a recommendation. Hopefully if there is an Exorcist 4 there will be a truly challenging expert mode.
The Brothers Grimm have assigned the task of revealing the truth behind missing children in the town of Arbourshire; it is up to you to discover the secrets of the Fairy Tale Mystery, before it is too late.
I like this better than the other "evil puppetmaster threatens children/steals souls" games out there, it's darker, and more macabre. That said, I am not going to buy this game. There are sparkles showing you HOS scenes even on the hardest mode, which is really easy. The puzzles are same old same old. I actually like the HOS, they are a little more challenging than most. Not sure what makes this a CE, there are no extra things to find. You get these ridiculous "magigrams" throughout the game, you can't miss them as they sparkle and glow. They are also full of the most boring information I have seen in a long time, long winded attempts to explain magic uses of items and so forth. I might buy this at a half price sale, but never at the full CE price.
This is a really good and interesting HOG that curiously hasn't gotten much "press" on the BFG site. The HOG scenes are good, not too hard. Things that just miss giving it a 5 star rating: 1. The instructions for the games are absent or sketchy. There are plenty of minigames, though, the usual sort. 2. The voiceovers are annoying and no way to turn them off except muting all sound. 3. The plot is a good dark 50's type murder mystery but has several holes,a few times I found myself saying "wait, did I miss something? How do I know that?" . I wish they had developed it more into a CE. 4. There were sparkles indicating HOG scenes even on expert mode.
Still the game is a decent length and a good value, kept my interest throughout.
This is a fun more quirky than creepy werewolf game. Let's just say the hero characters are not the usual, which is refreshing. This is mostly an adventure game, with plenty to do, and a generous bonus game . HOS are different than the usual, not too hard. Puzzles are standard and fairly easy (played on expert mode). Strategy guide is helpful and keeps pace with you, but you can page back and forth as you need. Wish the map was more detailed and allowed you to jump from place to place. The controls were often slow. There was some glitch that didn't allow me to have a custom cursor, they should have fixed that before release. Great that you can turn off the voices as they read every single black box comment. Still, unlike the latest MCF Shadow Lake, this is fun, well done, and worth the CE price.
I recommend this game!

Murder, She Wrote 2: Return to Cabot Cove
Take on the role of beloved murder-mystery writer Jessica Fletcher and return to lovely (but lethal) Cabot Cove!
I love Murder She Wrote and this game is pretty true to the show, except for Michael Hegarty being reinvented as a young man. This is obviously not a new game, but both Murder She Wrote games are fun in a relaxed way. Puzzles and HOS are fun. For an SE it is a decent length. Don't expect high technology or graphics, but expect the tone of the show and you won't be disappointed.
