This game is bad. I have nothing good to say about it. I gleefully downloaded, hoping it was a kingdom builder but then when I started, I saw otherwise. I said ok cool if its a Tower Defense I am very good with that. Its.. I don't even...words fail me. There is no tutorial to speak of. There are some instructions in the form of pictures & they don't get the point across. I believe I figured out the gist of it all on my own but the frustration/annoyance factors far, far outweigh any iota of fun that there may be.
This game failed me. In every sense of the word. Its just plain awful - disastrous, really. Normally II would say try it for yourself to see, but tbh, I don't think you should do that.
I don't recommend this game.

I felt compelled to write this review about ten days ago. At this time, I am still playing Westward Kingdoms - and that is the most I can ask for in a casual game. I had absolutely lost all faith entirely that it was possible to find a game so full of quests, interactivity, a full list of characters, such an astoundingly high level of things to do and more.
And as of my writing this, the game is around 5 years old already! I had never noticed it, neither here on BFG or elsewhere but lately have taken it upon myself to find lost gems. If you've played the other WW games, don't go into Kingdoms expecting the same. Its vastly different. I don't know how to describe it other than to say that in addition to the kingdom building, there is training of military units, questing, character development and so, so, so much more.
At over 12 - TWELVE! - hours into it, I'm only just now reaching the 3rd and final kingdom, and then there is the option of going back & replaying as the other character! Not to mention additional quests & achievements;however I don't know what they are or how to find them.
I do have one criticism, and that is that more often than not, the game did not make evident enough what should be done next. I was stuck resorting to online help, and that was extremely scant. (I had posted a few questions here on these forums but despite a combined total of 500 views, not a single response.)

What kind of game forces you to get the expert score on every level or not be able to move on? This one.
That's just annoying. If the game were so extraordinarily fun that I didn't mind replaying the levels over & over that'd be one thing.
Players may only go back to get the points needed to move on from a level that has not been completed with a gold star - so what I mean is, you get exactly enough of a score every certain # of levels to use toward opening up new levels and if you don't get it, you don't move on. Not cool. So guess what? I just wont play! There are plenty of other TM games out th-oh, wait. But seriously. I am not going to play because I don't enjoy aggravation.
The graphics were already getting on my nerves as it was ~ and that takes a LOT as I normally could not give a flying cucumber about graphics. But the two issues combined? No deal. This is the 3rd game in roughly 3 months that I've had to just chuck out the windows (haha see what I did there?) but I guess you win some you lose some - literally.
I don't recommend this game.

What happened to me while playing this game, which I was very excited to see here, is that I apparently made some sort of wrong choice along the way. I ended up running out of experience points - exp. is needed to unlock new buildings & things and without being able to do that, there is Nothing to do. And I mean nothing. Wanting to play so badly, I decided to restart the entire game. Basically the same thing happened to me again, only this time sooner and not by making the same choices. I also ran out of gold, because the gold mines are not infinite. I found a few other sources of gold but they'd always dry up. It was a very aggravating thing indeed. I even searched the web for help as I picked the game up for a half an hour here or there every other day or so, but no solutions. I did keep trying, though because I thought the game might end up being great fun. It looks to me like maybe there are some flaws in the design. Really. Its not me, its them! (I'm serious.) So overall, playing Westward II was frustrating and I regret wasting both my time and money.
Imagine devoting hours to a game only to find you cannot advance anymore because you need experience points, which can no longer be gotten.
I was so excited to see a TM game actually come to Big Fish that I actually almost bought it outright, sight unseen. Boy am I glad I didn't! I waded through 50 minutes of the murky, swamp-like free hour and that was painful. I could rarely tell what I had clicked on; I could not do what I wanted when I wanted; most of all, the speed of movement was a little excruciating.
I would recommend trying this game out, if only so you can try to prove me wrong but I don't believe that my opinion will stand out much from others' feelings about Rush Hour Gas Station. Its not well-produced.
I don't recommend this game.

Oh wow. I am just amazed. Before tonight, there have only ever been 3 series of PC or Mac games that I would ever consider buying without trying first. I read descriptions of Faerie Solitaire, and although I don't play too many card games, had a hunch that this would be amazing, bought it sight unseen.
Boy am I glad I did. I have nothing but praise for Faerie Solitaire - just cant believe I had never noticed it being sold on BFG. But all throughout 2014, I have searched hard for games after realizing just how many are here that get no publicity or fanfare at all while exactly one genre of game gets just under 100% of the spotlight. In doing so, I discovered this gem. Highly recommend it, especially for those who love Pokemon or any other game where you can breed & raise little critters.
I recommend this game!

I tried this game today - apparently its been out for years, but I'm sure most of us had no idea.
The game is fine. Only reason I didnt purchase is because its a little more complicated than I am comfortable with.
I felt bad because in all this time, it has only gotten one rating & review and that was very poor. I just wanted to mention that Cinema Empire is definitely better than just one star.
I am so glad I found a funny, enjoyable, challenging and just plain good ole game! I wasn't sure how much "oomph" a simple solitaire game could pack but this sure does it. I'm not sure how to describe what the game is like, but what I can say is that its certainly good enough to try out & see for yourself. One thing that I can say is that this game is about 10 steps up from many of the new releases over the past few weeks. Very well done.
This game is not professionally done in any way. The graphics, the text, the instructions & overall flow of it are just poor. Especially the instructions. In the 12 minutes that I was able to play, I found myself randomly clicking around because the instructions were either unintelligible or missing entirely.
I can forgive the broken English - that's not a huge hinderance all the time. However that plus all of the game's other flaws were just too much. Aside from that, the game was incredibly wordy, I'd even go as far as saying its the wordiest game I've ever seen. Here's an example of some text quoted word for word from within Ancient Rome:
There were 6-8 lines about how to upgrade something. Then click the text bubble to continue & it went on thusly: "Bear in mind, say that you are building a structure. Select it, begin dragging it over the playing field & change your mind. You can undo your action with a click of the right mouse button." Needless to say, 2 paragraphs of instructions PER action are far, far too many & the game does not merit that.
I'm not 100% sure I haven't already written a review for this game? But just in case, I need to say that this series blows away 98% of all other games sold here. Its that good. Amazing. Spectacularly professionally well-done. There's a huge gap between this & many of the other games around here.
This & one other Nancy Drew book are good enough that I will go & buy every single one sight unseen - and its not just my nostalgia talking. (Like I'd want to relive my childhood! No thank you LOL)
