I've been playing this game now for several days. It really does take strategy to finish the boards. However, there are little to no instructions. I don't even know what all the power ups are for or how to use them. Clicking on some of them nothing happens. Building the city is next to impossible. You need food to improve some buildings, and no matter how many levels or boards I play, I never get food. I'm actually thinking of starting over again just to see if I missed the instructions somehow. It has great potential if the developers made a few upgrades to it.
Absolutely the best puzzle game I've ever played. I can't understand why others haven't jumped on this style. It has so many possibilities with different themes.
The key to this is to not panic when the beeping timer starts. If you keep a level head, you can find the piece you need.
Basically the game highlights an area, and you have to find the piece that matches that spot. You keep matching until the picture is finished. What makes it even more challenging is that you have no idea what the finished picture looks like.
Just when you think you have the idea mastered they spin the puzzle around and around as you try to place the pieces.
Why would I want to pay BigFish anything for this terrible merge game that I could go play for free on Android?
There is nothing appealing about this game. It's dull, boring and lifeless. Merging burger patties or chicken patties that turn into pizza? Merging 1/2 frozen boxes of mystery ingredients that make lettuce and cheese?
At least it didn't use up much of my limited download data, but that is the only positive I have for this game.
If you want a top quality merge game, go play Claws and Feathers.
When you put a tile in the correct space it should stick in place. For some reason you have to put two tiles in place at the same time for the pieces to hold in place. That makes it extremely difficult to finish the photo.
I chose the Sheltie as my first image. I noticed when I put the left eye in place it did snap in as you would expect. However when I tried to place the nose, I moved the tile over at least 30 spaces and it wouldn't accept the tile. So then I tried to place the right eye, and because I had just guessed at the right spot for the nose, when I found the right space for the eye, both the nose and eye blinked and stabilized.
Sure enough you have to just be lucky enough to have two pieces in the right spot, and they will just snap and glitter into place.
That bug definitely needs an update. You should just be able to find the correct spot, and boom the piece should notify you and stick in place. With puzzles you need 1 piece to fit and stick at a time not two or more pieces.
I'm going to hold off on purchasing until I see a bug fix for this game.
Let me just say I would much rather go back and play Northern TALE 1-4 again rather then buy this game.
It must be a new developer making this "TALES" series because it's just vastly different.
The hidden objects are not really hidden. They stick out like a sore thumb.
The graphics are just bland compared to the TALE versions. The characters are not clear, and there is almost no interaction with the little animals which I just find funny. But no fun here.
It is most certainly not worth a CE price. I won't pay it for a few meager levels. Also I never use a strategy guide. I like to figure it out for myself, but I know a lot of people like it. It's not there.
In the TALE series I enjoyed having to go back and get the three stars. Some levels I probably had to play 20 times to get three stars. I set this game to hard right away. There is certainly no trouble getting three stars.
This game would be good for a novice in TM, but for the rest of us it's a big let down.
Finished 34 levels within the hour on hard. Plus the no windowed mode is annoying. I like to be able to go back and forth between work and the game on my breaks.
I do like the powerups earned for making matches of 4 or more. The bonus powerups are not very good, but I rarely use them.
It does have some unique features that other match threes don't have in the way some objects are removed.
Overall for me the game is way too short for me to purchase at full price.
the other rescue series. It's not the same. I also find it interesting that the "key contributor's" can't figure out how to play this game. I mean really, that's kind of hilarious.
In this game you must read the intro of each level. Unlike the other series that warns you that you are going to miss key information, when you really don't, in this game you will!
No you don't need a strategy guide. As with most games, the first few levels explain how to build the buildings, what they do, etc.
The game is really not that hard. I only had to replay a couple levels to get 3 stars. The one thing that you have to really understand is that you will have to demolish and rebuild a lot of buildings to finish each level to get the correct resources.
It's a shame the low reviews because this really is an excellent game, and I hope they make another one.
I recommend this game!

I had hoped that the name of the game meant they were really going back to when their games were great. This is just the same as all their new style games.
You have to move from room to room. The pieces all move so slowly each level practically finished itself.
I don't want insipid wallpaper castles. I want a real match 3 game with fast moving pieces. Hard board layouts. I want more of Jewel Match wonderland and Jewel Match 1 & 2. You know the games that made Surricate.
Are you ready to take on a challenge that will change the destiny of the whole kingdom? Help Victoria bring back the rightful heir to the throne and restore justice.
Did I just say that? Yes this game is better than MKFTP. I truly didn't think any game could surpass that one, but this is the best TM game ever created. The challenge is off the charts, but you can play relaxed. Truthfully I played on multi click and I am not sure if you can get 3 stars on every level, but I am going to try. They also have a normal mode as well.
The storyline is fantastic, and I really never follow the story. Music is appropriate. The graphics are amazing.
If you are a TM fan you have to try this game! It's just been since 2015 and no follow up to this game. I hope they eventually make another.
