There is a lot to do in this game and I liked it. Elpix did a very nice job. There are achievements and pet coins to find. You get an adorable pet that you get to name and who helps you take items you find and makes them into items you need. There are 4 levels of challenge which include casual, challenging, insane and custom and can be changed during game. The extra include the bonus game, music, wallpapers, concept, bonus hop, movies, hop, mini games and a video of how it was made. There is a diary with an objective list. Also, can play Match 3 instead of finding objects.
The storyline of the enternal spring was good. Morana, the goddess of winter has somehow done something to Vesna, the goddess of spring and has taken over. You have been called to help because you are the child of spring and you are the one who has been chosen to save spring. The hop were not too junky and the items were easy to find including the "interactive" ones. The mini games were also very easy to solve, but may get harder as the game continues. Seriously need to play to decide if you want to buy because it may not suit for some. I liked the whole concept but found I was getting bored towards the end of the demo.
Blue Tea Games has done a wonderful job on this new game. You and your sister are travelling down a road that has been known for young women disappearing and never being seen again. The Crooked Man appears and kidnaps your sister. You must save her before she too disappears forever. Along the way you find skeletons/ghosts of fairy tale type characters who have notes that help the story progress. The Crooked Man continues to put up obstacles to dely your progress to rescue your sister. Loved the storyline and not the typical "fairy tale" characters.
There is a lot going on with this story including finding 24 morphing objects which help your hint button refill more quickly, 14 pop up notes that help tell the story and 25 achievements mostly connected to you solving the puzzles in the game.
Not many hos and the ones that I came across were find the pieces to put together to get the object. The puzzles themselves were not overly difficult and fairly easy to solve.
There were 2 chapters for the demo, 6 chapters altogether. The bonus chapter had nothing to do with the actual story, but involves Humpty Dumpty.
Hints work outside the hos. There is no journal, but don't really need it. The map is given to you by Marianne whose lost sheep you have rescued. It is interactive. Strategy guide does not follow the story.
Visually it was beautiful, the voiceovers were well done, and the voices fit the characters. The only annoying thing I found was the continual cawing from the crow that would pop up every so often.
As a lover of fairy tales of any kind especially in game form, I loved this game. A detective from Scotland Yard is called to investigate an incident in the village. There he finds the mystical world and the "real" world have entertwined and is creating havoc with the residents become trees and the village becoming twisted and changed. He must recapture the evil Cornelius before he gets to the end of the Road of Kings.
Visually it has wonderful colors but the clarity is a little hazy probably due to the magic aspects of it. The music works well with the story and doesn't annoy or detract in any way. The level of challenge on the mini games is not bad but a little on the easy side. You have a variety of achievements (22 or 23), hidden symbols (little bells that are very small) and a book of mystical creatures that you encounter on your journey. The hos objects are a little difficult to locate on some of them due to size and fading into background. You also get two helpers on your journey, a baby dragon (you get to name it) and a raccoon (for thieving). You have three levels of difficulty; casual, advanced and hardcore, an interactive map sketched out on a tree which bark falls away as you find the areas and which you get at the very beginning without having to locate it. The strategy guide does not follow along and have to advance yourself.
All in all, I really enjoyed this game and recommend it, but those who are on fairy tale overload may not. Really need to try to see if you like it.
To save your father from a hideous monster, you've decided to sacrifice your own freedom. Now you must journey through a strange and magical land before time runs out!
As Beauty and the Beast has always been my favorite fairy tale, I thoroughly enjoyed this new twist on it. Father has been travelling and on his way home, he finds an abandoned castle with a beautiful nightingale that he wants to take home to his daughter. He is now destined to servitude to the Beast for the rest of his life. He delivers the present and his daughter finds out what he has done and vows to be the one to go to the Beast. Haven't figured out exactly what Dorian's part is in this yet as I have only played the demo, cut we do know that he is in love with the daughter and has been taken by a dark shadow.
There are nightingales to collect and achievements to accomplish but most of the achievements have to do with the story rather than having to find so may objects in so many seconds which I like a lot better. The normal plethera of extras are available including hos and mini games/puzzles. Visually it was well done and colorful and the music was equally well done. Can't wait to finish this review and purchase the game.
I would love to give this game a five but the game had a few issues. The music became annoying very quickly along with the clanking sound they use for the block out squares. The filling in the squares went a little slow for me, but I loved the level of challenge which starts out very easy and progressively gets harder. I was a little confused what I was supposed to do with the pumpkin in the corner, tried to use it but was unsuccessful. As you play you earn candies to purchase hints, mistakes etc. I really liked this game and will probably buy with one of my credits, but will make sure I don't have the music on.
I don't know about the witches because I got so bored playing the demo, I couldn't finish it. The story dragged and seemed to move slowly. The music was good and the visual was very crisp and clear and well done. The hos were junk piles and even though they were interactive, I wanted to hit the hints so that I could get through it. The storyline itself seemed like it would be interesting and for the part I got through it was. I can't recommend without recommending that you play the demo before making a choice.
The game had a lot of extras, ie collectibles (stone coins to purchase little statues, morphing objects, and achievements. I couldn't find where I could check the achievements I received and was a little confused in regards to that. The achievements were based on stuff you completed in the game but not sure what else. The rest of your extras are your typical wallpapers, music, mini games and hos. The game itself went along with you being called to the little Greek town to find out who is behind people being made into statues. It seems to be based on a picture in the doctor's office and Christo, Elias' assistant doesn't seem to be the killer, but not enough clues yet by the time I finished the demo. The game had some weird meanderings that didn't make a lot of sense where they had them but all in all not a bad game. You really need to play the demo though to decide for yourself
I've played other games by this developer, but this one was ok. The goal of the game is to restore the seven artifacts that have been lost over the ages, one from each country. The visual and cut scenes weren't bad and gave you the back story of each artifact you have to locate. The match 3 itself got a little boring and had to make myself stay until the end of the demo. There are other match 3 that I have liked better, but this is just not worth the credit.
What a cute match three game. Played the demo on relaxed so I could get a better feel for the game. There were power ups and you can purchase items to upgrade your own haunted home in Old Town. The visual was fantastic and so appropriate for a Halloween game and the music did not annoy me though I do have to admit it didn't feel spooky at all. A fun game for all ages.
After playing the first Fairytale Mystery with the Grimm Brothers, I was expecting this one to be equally as good. Granted there was improvement with adding the collectible faberge type eggs, displayed beautifully in the "Egg" room, but there were no achievements, which also would have been okay. The advertising of the game said there were two groups of collectibles, but didn't come across the second during the demo. The problem was that the story was slow and rather weak. The art was visually beautiful, some extremely crisp and clear with beautiful colors and others with soft watercolor type scenes. The music was well done and very appropriate for the scenes. The voiceovers were also well done except for Jack who sounded as if he went through puberty early. The game play was FROG which I enjoyed with the typical hos scenes. The scenes were not junky and everything was easily visible. The mini games were also fairly well done and easily solved.
The story begins with you graduating from Grimm Academy and as a new dectective you are put on the hunt for the beans that Jack bought from a strange peddler. You are able to destroy two of the beans, but one has made it into the ground and has reached the clouds, grabbing Jack on it way up. As you climb the bean stalk you start to meet the guardians of the different worlds you must cross to get to the giant and rescue Jack. The basis is there but is somehow lacking, perhaps it gets better as it get farther into the story. I'm totally on the fence with this game, so you definitely have to try before you make any decisions.
