An awesome game that deserves five stars and five out of five on everything else.
At first I was very skeptic with it being in a cartoon version as there are very few of those that I do like and I have to admit that when I started, I really didn't like it. The first two HO scenes drove me up the wall, but I decided to soldier on anyway, liking it more and more in the process and by the time the free hour trial was over I loved it.
The game is so beautifully done in artwork and concept that I got completely immersed in it. It's not dark or scary, but has a beautifully created surreal atmosphere. The voice overs are perfect and I really did enjoy them. The HO scenes are quite difficult as everything is drawn as cartoons of the real things and that does require to think a lot outside the box. The hint system recharges really fast, so if you get stuck, you won't be stuck for long. The puzzles are great and really likable and I ended up enjoying the types of puzzles I usually don't enjoy at all in other games. The game is one of the longest HO adventures I have played. It took me about three days to complete (couldn't believe it myself :-) ) but I enjoyed every minute of it. Well...not EVERY minute, but once
I got inside the mansion things were becoming really interesting.
The mansion is fantastic. Lots of rooms and not just rooms, but also rooms in different dimensions. So returning to the same room is never boring. Don't worry about having to 'walk' a lot. you can if you want to, but thanks to the awesome map that is included you can not only 'teleport' from one room to the next, but the map also tells you where there are still areas of interest and this eliminates the frustrating having to remember where goes what and entering a room only to find that there's nothing to be done.
This is one of the best games I have played and I can highly recommend it.
It may be difficult to top this one, but I really do hope these devs will come up with a similar game like this one.

I'm so disappointed. I love bubble shooting and when I saw this game this morning as a soft release it couldn't download fast enough for me. I nearly bought it without doing the trial first, but thankfully I didn't.
This game is the most frustratingly slow and boring bubble shooter I ever came across and I did come across a lot of them. I fully agree with the review of moxiemoll, the game play is really awkward and got me annoyed after a short while. I urge anyone who is thinking of buying it to do the trial first.
For me it is not a bubble shooter in the sense me perceiving a bubble shooter, but I'm also sure that there may be some gamers who would like and enjoy a slower paced game of this genre.

This grows completely against my grain, but still I quite liked it. I liked it so much, that I didn't play the entire hour of the trial, so I can check it out again at a later time.
It's a puzzle game with all sorts of puzzles. I quite like the tips it gives you about de-cluttering your home :-), e.g.: "If you have two of the same, throw one away". From what I've seen it offers a lot of puzzles that increase in difficulty as the game goes on. I am actually now quite in the mood to continue this game in my home and then take a couple of trips to the charity shop :-)
I gave it a 3 for Visual and Sound quality. On my system the graphics were a bit grainy and the music (even though I personally really didn't like it much) is in tune with the theme of the game. Let's put it this way: I listen to music of a similar pace when doing a Spring Clean.
Rather than recommending the game itself, I recommend doing the trial to see if you like it and by that I don't mean: "Try before buy", but really to do the trial, as this one could be right up your street. From what I've seen it does have a lot to offer.
When a bolt of lightning sends you back to the days of King Arthur, you trade in your farmer's hat for a suit of armor and set off on a journey to find the Fountain of Youth!

When I saw this title I was really looking forward to not only a fun game, but also a funny game and I am a bit disappointed.
The game is a mix between My Kingdom for the Princess (the music is very similar if not the same) and Roads to Rome. You have to remove obstacles from roads, forage food and resources and by building houses increase the number of your workers. Each level sets certain goals to achieve, preferably in expert time.
So nothing really new as to the core idea of the game. Sure, the devs must run into problems inventing new TM games, because there's only so much you can do, which is mainly selling or building. However, I think they could've spruced this particular game up by adding more quirkiness and cheek to it.
If this game had voice overs with New Yankee speaking modern US English and Merlin (his advisor after the time glitch) speaking in Ye Olde English, just imagine the confusion and the misunderstandings. The title is quirky, I like that, but after that they seemed to have shied away from continuing a dash of stereotyping on both sides. I give you an example: Just take the terms 'cell phone' and 'mobile phone'. Two different terms for the same item and most of us today know the meaning of both. But now put yourself into the position of poor Merlin getting confronted with it :-). He would've understood the words 'cell' and 'mobile' in the way that a 'cell' is something one gets banged up in and a 'mobile' probably being something that dangles from the ceiling moving and looking pretty and now imagine what must go through his head when the word 'phone' (which I doubt he would've known) got added to either. The best way to explain what I mean is by watching a clip of 'Catweazle'. This is an old series from the 70s in which a wizard from medieval times got transported into the future and one of the first things he discovered is the 'electric trick'. What a chance to create a real fun-funny game the devs had and all they could come up with was complete acceptance for what happened on both sides of the time line :-(
Imho, with a quirky title that, the game lacks mishaps due to misunderstanding and the odd 'let's declare each other stupid due to frustration' once in a while. New Yankee when asked to build houses could've built a modern one with sauna, swimming pool and all the mod cons.
To be it's quite an average game with an old concept. I won't recommend it, nor will I NOT recommend it. I doubt that I will buy it, because in a way I've already got a few of it.

Trust all the positive reviews, I can't add much more to them. The Fool is THE funniest adventure game I ever played. Some reviewers pointed out that it isn't very long, but I think no matter how long this game would be, it would always be too short :-). As the reviewer Amijane said on 1 April when the game was the D/D: "Just the intro is worth the money :-)" and I whole heartily agree with Amijane :-).

...but not bad at all. I have thought about how I could describe it, because, but couldn't come up with any existing genre in which I'd like to add it to. Never played anything I could compare it with it either, so all I could up with is it's kind of
WEIRD :-) and ENJOYABLE :-)
Graphics are a bit like the artwork you can find in children fairy tale books. Very colourful and pretty. The storyline is about a prince on a quest to lift a sleeping spell from a kingdom. So nothing scary and haunting.
No HO scenes like we're used to, but sort of FROG scenes, but not proper FROG scenes either. You have to find broken items. E.g: Three pieces to fix back together to make a set of pliers.
The game play I found quite awkward at the beginning, but I got into it after the first two locations. I would recommend this game to somebody who wants to spend some relaxing time playing a game. This would also be an ideal game for children to either play alone or together (providing kiddo can read). So so sad the game doesn't have any voice overs. If it had it would be so much better.
Definitely do the one hour trial before any purchase as this game is not everybody's kettle of fish.

Not my favourite of the three. Unlike in Gourmania and Gourmania 2 I found myself getting stressed over this one. Some of the items are very small I have noticed that some ingredients which are very easy to spot sometimes disappear behind the sign when a guest turns up (naughty developers :-) ). I found the storyline a bit over dramatised, but hey...it's a game and when a spoiled brat of a daughter wants to prove her business acumen to her rich dad by restoring his old restaurants, building a zoo and filling it with animals from their family crest, then what better place to do such a ridiculous thing than in a game? :-)
Nice game, I recommend it, but would advise to do the full trial first.

Find, chop, boil, fry, roast, mix, juice. This is about it. Gourmania is the first of so far three games in which these developers have manage to mix Hidden Object and Time Management games like no other. In this one here, you get to manage and eventually own seven restaurant which once owned will add to your daily revenue. So it is in your best interest to max out the possible revenue of each restaurant. With the money you earn you can buy new or upgrade your kitchen tools and eventually have enough money to enter the final cooking contest.
To cook you need tor first find your ingredients inside the kitchen, then prepare these (dragging into the pot to boil e.g.) and once done the customer will leave the money on the counter. Not always as easy as it sounds, but not overly difficult either. From what I read in many games forums, a lot of people seem to have problem achieving expert in the first task of the Sushi Restaurant. Some suspect a glitch. I have achieved expert there, but with great difficulties, lots of re-tries and frustration. The key is in the queuing.
The game is quite old, so don't expect the graphics to be too outstanding, but it's ok.

I used to play platform games together with my son when he was little and mainly because it amused him so much how rubbish I am at these lol. An hour has passed and I have to admit that I am still rubbish at these type of games. But on the bright side, I had a lot of fun.
You can play turtix with either arrow keys or mouse. I played with the mouse, but I think the arrow keys may be less stressful on the hand / arm. On your quest, you need to collect gems and that involves a lot of of jumping onto different platforms. In the process you come across enemies which you eliminate by jumping onto their heads and then kicking them with the space bar. To open a portal that will let you enter the next level, you have to find and free all the turtles in the level by jumping onto the cages in which they are trapped.
I am not so sure if this is all you need to do, because I am so absolute rubbish at platformers that took me one hour to get to level three lol :-).
Now am completely knackered, as for me playing a platformer is like an all-over body work out. I have no idea why I feel I have to jump also, every time I prompt the character to do so.
I think the game is excellent value for money as the D/D today and I consider a purchase. Great for your own or visiting children.
What you need to do and how to do things is very well explained. You may want to turn the music off, because that really drove me potty after a while.

I played the first in this series and quite enjoyed it. It's not so long ago that the first was released so I was surprised to see part two of a relatively large game following in such short concession. "A bit suspicious", I thought and think I was right.
The Palm of Zoroaster feels as if the first game (House of 1000 Doors: Family Secrets) had just simply been copied, pasted and slightly edited. I see little point buying a copy if I already own the original.
Sometimes, something great is best left standing alone and in due course may develope into a classic. This seems to have been the case with House of 1000 Doors: Family Secrets.
