Quite a nice game. You can tell it's quite old, but that doesn't make it bad. It's a FROG, but nicely done. You have to find parts of items you need to unlock something or solve a puzzle. Lots of magic involved, but nothing seriously occult.
Visual and Sound quality are ok, considering the age and the artwork is very nice. One thing that got a bit on my nerves, was a door closing when a scene got loaded, which took a while, but that is to be expected with older games. Music is relaxing and not intrusive.
An older hint system with hints not automatically recharging, but you can find question marks in each scene and if this still isn't enough and you're out of hints, then just click on hint and will take you to an area in which you have to find question marks and thus obtain a further two hints.
The puzzles are pretty straight forward and not very difficult. I'd recommend this game to somebody who wants to spend some relaxing time or to somebody who wants to play a nice little adventure/FROG/puzzler with a younger child.

Yet another brother went missing in suspicious circumstances. Yet another mystery to solve, more intricate locks to open with items that have been hidden. Yet another mechanism to assemble. These games really don't rock my boat any longer. I have solved so many mysteries, found so many missing people, unlocked so many doors, I'm getting weary of it.
Having said that, the game is ok, but nothing new. The graphics are good, so is the sound quality. Not sure why they tell you at the start not to turn the sound off. Apparently, it deepens the experience. Sorry, but I have to disagree on that one. Sound on or off, the experience was the same: Pretty boring!
Two different difficulties, I played the demo in the casual mode. The HO scenes are a mix between straight forward items to find, e.g.: Keys (3) and some interactive ones for which you first need to find a tool to get to or make the item you need to find. The puzzles are ok. Usually intricate locks, for which you need to find parts of the mechanism first and these parts aren't really difficult to find, you just have to walk back and forth a lot. Of course, right at the start there'll be a pet that wants entertaining before releasing something you need.
The game does have voice overs and even real actors. What I don't understand is that if they used real actors anyway (the maid e.g.) then why once the maid starts talking she turns into her own avatar? No idea why that is.
I really don't want to spend any money on this CE version as I already found the game itself very tedious very quickly and really don't need or want any bonus game on this one and the other freebies that are thrown into this CE version are not really worth it in my mind.
I really isn't challenging and doesn't excite me at all.

The concept is old (you have to direct sheep with a limited number of arrows which you place on the floor to an exit). Took me a while to figure that out, because they must have forgotten to explain the rules in better detail. That's pretty much it, but the game is timed, so after a while you stand next to zero chance, as they really didn't give much time to think about what needs to be done. I have nothing against timed puzzlers, quite enjoy the challenge, but not if I've got only one minute, to figure out a way, place and rotate a limited number of arrows and doing that watching out that the arrow doesn't point the wrong way so the sheep don't end up in outer space.
The graphics are bad and only get topped by the poor sound quality.
Good idea, but the game really doesn't have any body for me. The storyline leaves a lot to be desired and the lady who informs the player about everything talks too much in an annoying voice deliberately using high pitch. Why? To create some exitement? Well, if this was the intention it hasn't worked for me. The game is NOT exiting and the constant talking of the lady is somewhat patronising.
I'm wondering in which category this game can be found. It is a mix of HO, Adventure, Match 3 and puzzle. The HO scenes are quite good, some items are oversized and quite of like this. It's like not being able to see the forest for all the trees in it. I could've kicked myself when I finally spotted the moth being the size of a combat jet :-). Nothing too small and plenty of jewels to be found. The match three sequences seem very easy to me, but I should stress that match three is not really my forte. The puzzles are ok, quite easy and nothing that rocks my puzzle world. The adventure aspect of the game is constantly being spoiled by the lady talking and telling you the obvious like: "A Crowbar!!! We may need this item". No way, Sherlock! :-) I wouldn't have guessed, especially not after it landed in my inventory ;-).
The music is probably the most irritating tune I've listened to in long time. I like the sound effects and music in a game and usually turn it down if it's not so good, but here I completely turned if off. You can virtually hear somebody torturing a violin rather than playing it.
I could only recommend the trial (under no circumstances the purchase) of this game to somebody who wants to briefly investigate what all of the above game categories are about, but with a stern warning that the real things are better.
Journey into the world of imagination and recreate sumptuous Japanese woodblock prints by moving the shadows in this innovative puzzle game for players all ages!
I'm gutted. The description of this game read so interesting and innovative, hence I'm so disappointed. The real challenge of this game seems to be to start it as in getting into a level and then trying not to click anything that will alter the screen settings. Instead of 'play' with a click facility this game leaves you guessing which one of some arrows to click to play. In the process of trying to open the first level my screen settings went from full screen to windowed and suddenly I found myself playing the game inside the window of my BFG manager, which got completely confused and only went back to normal after me locating the game via the control panel and deleting it. The little bit I did play before deciding to stop due to never knowing what of my settings the next click would alter, didn't really exite me at all. I assume you are supposed to add and then turn around some ink blobs to create Japanese ink art. The idea is great, but the execution is diabolical and as the game itself alters my settings I don't want it. I rather decide the settings myself. This really needs to get taken down from sales.
A tower defence game and since I bought Garden Rescue a few days ago one of my favourite genres.
The graphics are fantastic, the music is quite dramatic but in sync with the subject, great sound effects.
The game is very well explained in the intro. You basically have to build towers to defend your main island from enemy attacks. These come in the shape of ships of different strength, so you need to place your towers on the strategically most efficient places. For every ship you sink you earn money and some ships leave a treasure floating in the sea which you can pick up. You need to earn lots of money, because your defence towers cost a fortune. As you go along you unlock bonuses, like sea mines, freeze bonus and many others. You earn awards which you can view in a hall.
Yes, you do build towers and then sit back and watch, but sometimes you have to intervene by quickly building another tower or placing a sea mine. I didn't find myself bored for one second. Really love this TD game and will definitely buy it.

This game must have been created in an older style. The story, the locations and the fact that one does have to talk to a lot of characters reminds me of the game 'Versailles' that I played aeons ago. There are HO scenes with items quite difficult to find. Either because they are so over sized that you can't see them for them jumping into your face or they are very tiny or they are very blended in. I basically ended up looking for anything 'odd'. This, however, is something I found quite annoying, because they are an awful lot of 'odd' items you see, but they may not be useful at first. No voice overs and I'm not sure if I'd prefer voice overs in this game or rather not, because what the characters say can sometimes be a bit strange. I put this down to translation. I wish somebody would tell some developers that there are people who translate professionally. If one would have been used here, I now wouldn't suffer from HO-Scene-Block, a condition that you suffer when you can't find a needed item in a HO scene. At least this what the hint system said: "If you are blocked use a hint" :-). Hints re-charge very slowly btw, frustrating as I suffered "block" somewhat silly in this game. I loved the music, lots of piano, perhaps Chopin or Satie and very in tune with the surroundings of the palace in Versailles.
I probably buy this game in a sale and then find out who is trying to get Marie Antoinette into trouble.
I won't recommend this game, but nor will I not recommend it. I advise to try it.

I played this a while ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's spooky, but not too occult, after all Samhain (pronounced Sau:in in Irish Gaelic, so I was told by an old friend from the emerald isle) we still celebrate today as Halloween. But I'm sure you all know that anyway.
This game as The Weekly Catch is something you really shouldn't let pass. It'll give you a good few hours of HO-Adventure fun and I highly recommend it. If in doubt, do the free trial and if you still don't know then think of all the darker days and longer evenings in the time approaching Halloween when this may come in handy ;-)
As all the positive reviews already said anything else I could add, all I say now is: Sláinte Wah :-)

I like the approach of going away from HO scenes and instead scattering items and parts that are important to proceed in the game all over the scenes. I just didn't like the game itself. Can't put my finger on as to why not, as these type of games are right up my street, so I think it may the story itself. I just couldn't get the feel of it. The graphics are fine, a bit on the dark side, but things are easy to spot and the puzzles are easy enough not to get frustrated over them.
As I did like the game play itself, but just not the story, I gave it 4 out of 5 stars. As to be fair the game itself is great, the story just isn't for me. I'd really recommend trying this game and therefore recommend it too.
I won''t buy it as a CE, but probably once it gets released as a SE. If you're unsure, give it a spin in the free trial, you may like it.

This one is from Blue Tea and once I saw their logo I already knew it must be great and I was right. It really is a fab game.
The intro is stunning. I'd strongly advise not to have a cup of coffee in your hand as I did or you may have to mop the floor, too :-). Because of that alone, I decided not to play the full hour of the demo, so I can watch it a few more times :-) until I have the cash to buy. Moving characters, fantastic voice overs and from what I saw and recall of the legend of the Piper it is well researched but does have its own life. The graphics are stunning, so much to see and to do and really beautifully done. The HO scenes are the best I have come across in a long time and the same goes for the puzzles. They are innovative, fun with a level of difficulty that won't frustrate. There are morphing objects and a lot of things that interact on mouse click. You do come across an awful lot of rats which could be issue for some, especially for anyone suffering from musophobia. Personally I quite enjoyed the ones you can click on. They squeak and run away :-)
The game has a map which points out areas of interest. Not sure if you can teleport with it and the reason why I don't know that is because the scenes are so beautiful that I didn't want to. I could ramble on and on telling whoever reads this how absolutely gorgeous this game is, but today I make it short. Want to watch the intro again :-). I will definitely buy this CE.
