I'm all for a good story line and for explanation on how to do things, but this got on my wig really quickly. I plaid about 20 minutes into the trial in advanced mode and at the beginning chose that I didn't want a tutorial. But nevertheless it kept popping up and over and over again I was explained what to do. Things like: "I need all the parts for this" came up every single time I went to the chest to insert a part of the tool. "Remember to use your hand to find things" was another quite regular reminder. This constant being told what to do made it impossible for me to actually PLAY the game. I just couldn't enjoy it let alone getting into it. Due to this interference I find it impossible to comment on the graphics and any other features.
This one is definitely NOT worth the extra money for a CE.

The subject has been battered to smitherenes already. The guy who has to rescue Clair does look handsome, but very early in the game I thought I'd see his future and I already kind of know the ending. The game is very 'in your face' and that was after I selected the hardest level. It was still in my face and telling me what to do and what not to do. Hey!! I've played HOG's and IHOG's since Hidden Adventures:Titanic got launched, so I don't really need the extra prompting after having turned it off!
The game to me has zero fun factor, the movements of the characters is in between crude and stupid "Oh cut me away from the fishing nets! But Clair was totally in his face then.sitting one the shore she looked like a drowned rat, but her having to tell him she was suddenly in appropriate attire. I couldn't even get shot of the extra stupid advice on 'how to cut the fishing net s in this scenes. Whatever you want to investigate and do on your own margin somebody you'll run into a warning sign! And Clarie never really got off her butt, but sat there like a serene looking entity, only to jump into Ethan's face once ever so often.

I only demoed this game because of the reviews written by Lindy20 and nickymannarge (sorry if I misspelled the names). I really love this game. It's not the newest all singing and dancing style with graphics to die for, but it is a really great game. It's a mix between HO and TM and I found it quite challenging. You have to serve customers fast with your HO skills and rake in the profit to help grandma's shop to survive. It's one the ones you won't want to miss if you're a real TM or HO fan or a mix between the two.

I like the Hidden Mysteries series, but this one here concerns me bit regarding its length. I've played the demo and that ended with 25 minutes to spare. I read some of the reviews and three hours from start to finish was mentioned, which really is too short imho. I loved the graphics, really gorgeous art work. The game doesn't have voice overs, but dialogue to read. It's not bright but neither seriously dark. The HO scenes are very crisp with objects cleverly placed and interactive objects to find. The puzzles I liked, but I only came across one to do (the only one for which I had the missing item) and that was easy. The historical facts aren't very well researched, but as the game has lots of ghosts in it, I can live with that.
I'm really torn. "To buy or not to buy. This is the question!" Sorry, can't answer that one yet. I recommend the game, but suggest to do the trial

I haven't done the whole hour of the trial, but enough to know that I won't buy this game. It's a typical asylum game and I am more than sure that I have come across the layout of the derelict asylum in another game. The atmosphere of the game is accordingly depressing. The HO scenes are ok. Some items are very hard to spot because of the darkness. You need to interact with some of the hidden objects and I came across two things I needed to do that I found quite innovative. I had to do some ironing and swat a fly and I'm not so sure which of the two I found more brutal :-). The game has morphing objects, a journal (which takes notes of important codes, so you don't need to write anything down), a task list (I didn't find it necessary during my trial, but not sure if it will come in handy later on) and voice overs. The hints recharge quite quickly (I played in casual mode, so I suspect the recharging will take longer in the advanced mode). As mentioned before, the atmosphere is depressing. The building is derelict with all the usual interior damage due to years of neglect. So you'll find paint flaking off the walls, rusty metal bars, the usual abandoned and torn teddy bear and there is this constant sound of dripping water, but to my surprise the electricity worked :-). I always find it annoying when I have to get the lights to work first. These sort of jobs should be left to a professional who knows what he or she is doing :-). The puzzles I had to do so far I found quite easy, they are of the usual sort you'd need to do to open a door or make something work. If you like games about abandoned asylums you'll like this one.

This was the one I didn't yet own and I bought it today as the D/D offer. Just finished playing the first level and I am not one little bit disappointed. Strangely, I find JJ's World Tour easier than the other ones, but this could only be my perception. I love all my JJ games. Don't play them very often, but always found they make a nice change when I can't think of anything else to play. You basically dress up models to certain specifications, e.g. "Gothic Loli" wants to be dressed up in clothes with ruffles and quite black etc (the game will give you a list of what goes with what style) and then you find them on the clothes rack and send the models out on the runway. This being a TM you obviously have to be quite speedy doing this, but as I said before JJ's World Tour seems to be somewhat easier on this aspect.
In my experience the JJ Fashion show games should come with a warning, as playing them may result in you suffering a side effect and that would be that you feel this increasing urge to hit the town and splash out on a few new frocks :-)

As soon as I started doing the trial, it felt strangely familiar and this is because I also did the trial for the CE version that was released earlier, which I didn't wind up buying because I didn't feel the extra expense for the CE version was justified.
The game seems very rainy and grey, nearly monochrome. Not sure if that is because it is set in England. The story line is not bad and I like the butler with the stiff upper lip and had the game been released as the SE version at the time the CE was launched I would've bought it. But in between now and then a couple of weeks went by and in that time I have come across and bought better games from this genre. So now it's a definite 'No Purchase' for me. I might buy it if I ever come across it as a D/D or Weekly Catch.
I don't recommend this game.

I normally stay well clear of match 3 games. They bore to the brink of death after a while, so there are very few that I would go for. When I came puzzle quest 2, I was after a puzzler and my heart sank when I found out it was a match 3. However, the reviews were so positive that I decided to test the prequel and really liked it, but in the end I dared buying puzzle quest 2 without being able to try it and I am not one little bit disappointed. It doesn't feel as tedious as I find most match 3 games. The opponents fight back, so you have to watch out not to give them too many chances which requires a lot of planning ahead.
If you don't want to buy because you can't try it, I suggest you try Puzzle Quest (the prequel) and if you like that one, then you won't regret buying PQ2 for one moment.

The game is really nothing special and in my mind doesn't meet CE standard. The voice overs are out of sync which made it look like one of these really badly synchronised martial arts movies. The storyline is not great: Beautiful sister and jealous brother, sis competes in some beauty pageant and bro starts working in some wax museum. You meet the sister as a ghost and I might be totally wrong, but I think I knew then what had happened. The game moves a lot, if something tumbles down it's like a camera man shook the camera frantically to create some special effect and that I found annoying, but not quite as annoying as the sparkling journal. Now THAT I find seriously irritating. The HOS are ok and items quite easy to spot, which isn't necessarily a bad thing and there are a lot interactive hidden objects, as in "Cone + cream ball = ice cream". The puzzles I came across are easy.
The whole game is really dark, not so much in colour but in atmosphere. Not that I don't like these type of games, but there are better ones.
Imho this game is not worth spending the money for a CE. I'd probably buy the standard version wouldn't I already have better games from this genre.
A little bird wants to join his better half but the cruel world won't let him. Collect as many stars as you can while jumping between wires and avoiding pitfalls.
I loved it. The birdy is cute, the music made my feet dance underneath the desk. It took me a couple of minutes to figure out what I needed to do (click and drag the birdy until you have found the best possible angle to catch the stars, land on the next wire, avoid anything dangerous and for Heavens sake do this correctly or the little birdy end up dead). Sadly, exactly THIS action ("click", "drag", "position" and "hold" before letting go) is where I found a big problem for me and that is: IT HURTS! :-( I played only 15 minutes and had to stop as I thought I might suffer a cramp in my lower arm. Especially when I didn't want to rush things and catch all the stars, which requires some observation and thinking.
However...this game is such fun that I laugh into the face of pain and buy it nevertheless. I'm planning to kick start my days with a couple of levels, as this game is one that makes the sun shine on the rainiest of days :-). So I really do recommend this fun game for young and old.
