Deep in the heart of an enchanted forest, a forbidden love blooms. Guide the human Eveline as she sets out to rescue her beloved from the clutches of a tyrant.
An outlawed werecat engaged to a human hunter's daughter. He's injured in the Forbidden Forest and she finds a kind and helpful witch who gives her a recipe AND a special pot to make the potion in - but hurry she says. HOW? You can't find any of the ingredients! You get a pet baby dragon from the beginning which is supposed to be your hint button/helper. sigh. Very cute and likeable but every other time you use him you have to recharge him with little white puffballs that only float in certain areas so he isn't always helpful. Did I mention the strategy guide was not available in the demo? Thanks guys because I really think it's going to be needed in this game. You were allowed, though, to hear about 3 of the music downloads and it looked like there was a bonus game as well. The story moved slowly because of the difficulty I personally had trying to make that first potion. I don't think Ill even consider this as an SE which I could use a free code for. I always hate to do this because I always try to be nice but sorry, guys, this time Glam-ma says run to the nearest better game you already own.
Your niece has frantically called you to rescue her from her boarding school because all the adults are gone (one pushed out the window) and the kids are all creepy (except your niece and one other - how did that happen?). So off you go to rescue said niece and she isn't kidding, we are not in Kansas anymore. What kind of horror house is this school using? Well, I guess we're going to find out in this new addition to the series. And what a great series it's been from the beginning. The graphics are great - bright and colorful where needed and darkly creepy where needed. Can't comment on music because I tend to tune it out. The hint recharged fairly and did a good job of getting you where you needed to be if you need that additional help. The HOGs were not difficult by any means - I had no problems with them. Can't quite comment on the mini games because I skipped as many as I could to get back to the game play (one hour free trial you know?). All in all I so thoroughly enjoyed this game I wanted that bundle pack soooooooooo badly but it's grocery store weekend and food outweighs games - but just wait til DPM (double punch Monday) and I am going to use up some major free codes and credits to make sure I have each game so I can start at the beginning. Another great game in a great series from a great developer. Thanks Bigfish for adding this to my repertoire of games. This Glam-ma says two thumbs up and go for it!
I love Nora Roberts and have read every book she's written and kept a few "series" including this one. Yes, the game was on point with the book and seeing the characters instead of imaging them - well, they were just as I had imagined. That's as far as it goes for me. I intensely dislike games where you have to earn hints or have very limited hints, especially when your HOGs are so tiny you really do need a magnifying glass to find almost every item - and I have "old" eyes (smile). That totally spoils the game for me every time. If you are going to develop a game with HOGs that are so miniscule and mish mashy that you can't find them at least have a rechargeable hint button. Love you, Nora, hate the game. Sorry, another rarity for this Glam-ma but she says run for the hills on this one.
wanted to like this game ... but I didn't. I really want to have something good to say about it ... but I don't. The graphics are grainy and seem to come from an older game - a very much older game. No voiceovers and the written script goes by so fast you really don't get the gist of the story unless you happened to read the description before you played the game. The story starts out with a girl wanting to go home but missed her ship because she tripped and caught a ride on a tanker - yes, it's a tanker. The next thing you know she's all alone, there's a fire on the bridge and she doesn't seem to care that no one is manning the bridge or the wheel to steer said tanker? Sorry, I'd be out of my mind. Spoiler alert - you don't PULL the water bucket up you PUSH it from the side - took me a good bit of time to figure that out. The HOGs are a mishmash of a mess that really with the foreverness of the recharge (I ate breakfast while waiting at one point - seriously) that random clicking was probably faster than waiting for help from the useless hint button. I say useless because in every - e v e r y game I've ever played when you click on hint and it takes you back somewhere you've already been you don't have to wait to recharge - here you do - and again - recharge takes FOREVER! And what are those cute little pearls you're supposed to collect? Thank you, thank you, I was brilliant enough to start collecting from the beginning because I figured they had to be for something. And the cheesy fireworks when you finally figured something out? Are you kidding me? I have played the best and the worst and I have to say that after the free trial this is beyond the worst. No thanks. And I rarely ever do this but this Glam-ma says run while you can.
The storyline makes sense. Mystery surrounding finding her father with a mystical something or other. But that's when it ends. There's a portal at the beginning after you have to find not only HOs but locked items. You're transported to some western town (?) and still HOs and locked items one after the other after the other. After an hour of free trial you have no clue what the game is about and nothing makes sense. Sorry, Glam-ma says no to this one.
Storyline same old, same old - I'll just let you read it on the description page. Graphics horrible. Played on both 3D and regular and that didn't help much. The HOs were impossible to find. Nor does your tutorial tell you you can (and have to on occasion) put 2 items together to make them work as one. NO button. If anyone out there found a useful hint button for this tremendously awful game, please contact me through Bigfish cuz all I got was a map that pretty much said where I was, where an item was, but not that I had picked it up yet and there was a "pop up" but not necessarily that I had finished it. The worst game I have ever played on this site. BigFish, I'm soooo sorry, but this Glam-ma says two thumbs down - don't even bother irritating yourself with the demo.
'Nuf said. No really (smile). I played both the SE and CE versions of this game - just in the past 2 hours. The storyline is a typical "oh no, someone(s) disappeared" and has/have to be found. But, there is demonology and the occult and monsters, oh my! I finished the SE version with 15 minutes to spare. I did not need the strategy guide as the hints button was pretty useful. It also recharged very quickly. The music haunting - clearly it's supposed to be. The HOGs are frequent so if you don't like an HOG every time you turn around this game is not for you. The mini-games fun and range from easy to middling on difficulty, but if you stick with it I think you'll eventually get it - depending on your patience level and desire to hit that "skip" button. You do get achievements for how well you do on HOGs. The game as a whole - surprising in the first hour (well, less than that for the SE) because Ms. Thing, the missing girlfriend turns out to be chained up because she's the demon! NO WAY! Now, how, why, where did that come from???? Buy the game and find out 'cuz if you just play the free trial you will be hooked. I very rarely spend the bucks for a CE but based on my gameplay it just looked better graphically and I read lots of good kudos on the bonus gameplay. Glam-ma says it's a MUST!
Basically you are a detective investigating a missing person's case when you're caught in a bad storm and then can't remember a lot of details of where you are, why and what happened - so you are redoing your research, etc. I played both the SE and CE and did not need the strategy guide so I will most likely purchase the SE - an economics thing for me. The HOGs are easy to middling for difficulty, the mini-games gave me no problem and the hint button recharges very, very quickly and can take you thru the game when necessary. The graphics are ok for location and creepiness, as is the background music which I tend to tune out anyway. What voice-overs there are, are clear. I hated when the FT ended and this is on my list of games to get. Great for beginners but maybe not so much for the hardcore gamers. Glam-ma says give this a go. I finished the SE demo with 18 minutes left.
If you like nothing but HOGs and mini-games then this game is for you. You are a detective investigating a murder at a movie theater and everyone connected therewith. HOG after HOG and mini-game after mini-game and some other things like checking DNA. Great for HOG beginners. The hint button recharges remarkably fast. Highlights what you are looking for. The mini-games are relatively easy. There is no voice over or cut scenes so can't judge that. Again, probably great for a beginner to HOGs.
So you are a detective back investigating the Dark Dimension. This time, you are investigating what happened to a beauty pageant winner and the key characters that surround her in a town that turned to wax after severe earthquakes. The cut scenes are great quality, the characters believable. The HOGs can be difficult because even the items not "colored" are very interactive as the game progresses. There was not a lot of going back and forth and what there was of it was within a specific area. The hint button recharges fairly quickly. The mini games ranged from quite easy to extremely difficult. It took me all day - literally all day to complete the game without the CE bonus gameplay. Give the free trial a go. I was disappointed with the way it ended but that's me. It was an enjoyable game to play. Glam-ma says go for it.
