I really didn't know how to title my review as there are so many things wrong with this game.
First, the story line is extremely verbose in conversations between an apparent fairy and a flower-loving child who wishes to get her wings and become a fairy. The conversations between the two go on forever.
It is a match 3 but not in the typical way. You must rotate groups of 3 different types of flowers in order to make a match of 3 or more. No discernible bonuses for making more than 3 matches.
You have ONE initial "match 3" to clear "x" number of certain flowers off the board. Any similarity to a match 3 game ends there.
This is a game of mini game after mini game after mini game - using the rotating flowers system to complete. However, not a single mini game that I played during the demo gave any real or good instructions. I had to figure things out myself by "dying" or "losing flower lives" several times before I "got" that level. It's not a way I choose to play my games. Not this type of game anyway.
For the reasons stated about not only is this not a purchase for me but I will not recommend it to anyone else. The type of game it is is misleading, instructions are absent or poor and it makes what could have been a beautiful game very frustrating.
I don't recommend this game.

Big sigh .......... There have been so many games, everywhere, trying to emulate the old favorite Alice in Wonderland book. Unfortunately, only one developer (and I cannot mention who, the game title, etc. but it is on the BF site) has marginally succeeded.
What I liked:
The cartoon quality of the game characters, etc. I know others disliked that but, come on, it's NOT a "true" story. It's a fantasy. The graphics were beautiful, the colors sharp, the music slightly irritating but I tend to tune it out anyway. Hmmmm. Is that it already? Guess so.
What I Didn't Like:
Lips moving on characters but no sound coming out. You have to read everything. If the characters have moving lips - make sound come out. I even went back to the "options" page to see if I had mistakenly turned something off. Nope. No talking. Yuck. The HOGs were horrible. While the background scenes were Alice in Wonderland quality, the items were impossible to find. IMPOSSIBLE! Either tiny or a broken heart was embedded in the dark brown woodwork. Yeah, I would have eventually found that easily as the heart was also dark brown and not red.
On the fence:
There are smiling cheshire cat grins everywhere and when you click on them you you get little known factoids about the story. Haven't decided if they are annoying or not yet because they are, literally, everywhere.
Unfortunately, this game is not a purchase for me. There is a better concept of Alice in Wonderland, I have it, I found it quite by accident on the BF site. My recommendation is ... keep looking down the rabbit hole.
I don't recommend this game.

This is why I review games - old and new. Because there are people out there, like me, who do rely on what others have to say about a game after having played it completely. So, thank you to those who struggled through it and lost your money on it.
I thoroughly enjoyed the game play. Although, I do concur that the "mini games" were idiotic and not mini games at all. I felt that once you got past the initial verbosity it was an ok game. I liked it. But, the first time I replayed an HOG (hidden object game), that was it for me.
I liked the demo well enough but, after reviewing the reviews, decided not to purchase the game. I don't take the negatives only, either. I look at the overall reviews. How many 4 and 5 stars (together) there are as opposed to how many 1, 2 and 3 stars (together) there are and if there are more bad than good, well, I'd like to know why. And, most of the time, I follow the advice of those reviews.
So, not for me and not going to recommend because the 4 stars was for the demo only. My feeling, enter at your own risk.
Happy Gaming!

Now, this is more like it!!!!! I didn't do so well in the original version of this game, but in this one I totally ROCKED it.
Just as in the original Jojo's Fashion, the concept of this game is to dress your models in tops, bottoms (jeans, slacks and/or skirts) and shoes of every variety but, now, there are ACCESSORIES. AND, now as well, we have MEN as well as ladies.
Create your own closet one outfit at a time from tops to shoes, colors, trim and prints. Styles range from around the world chic to punked out rock, Kimono Frenzy and Gothic. Away from the wispy summers and westerns and modest of the old game. Now, let your style and your whimsy let loose and fly!
I had such fun creating clothes (highest points - ahem, ahem - LOL) and dressing my models. And the applause feature makes it sound like you really are getting props for your ... props - LOL. I'm totally considering purchasing this game for several reasons - the fun value, the entertainment value, the feel-good value and the fact that I got my personal "wow" factor when the demo ended. "OH NO - NOT YET!".
I recommend this for young and old, guys and gals, moms, dads, grads and grammas (that's me!). So, get your style on and go have fun!
Happy Gaming!

I thought this would be a great game for tweens just coming into their own style as you can create your own, those interested in the fashion industry or if you just love putting together clothes. I must admit, though, it was probably too trendy for my generation as I did poorly more than I did well.
The concept of the game is to, well, style it right. There are choices of Racy, Gothic, Hippie, Western. Hmmm. I wonder why I got the hippie look so perfectly - LOL.
So, pair the tops, bottoms (pants, jeans or skirts) and shots/boots and see how well you do. Rated per each item and then overall look.
Not a purchase for me because, well, granddaughter's too little to play this with and I'm too "elderly" (according to my youngest (28) to fit in - LOL.
Happy Gaming!

Well, today seems to be my day for demoing games that aren't exactly what I thought they'd be. Ok. Had to get that off my chest.
Oriental Dreams is not your typical match 3 game. Let me try, somehow, to describe the game play.
Game Play: There is a game board, upon which are numerous colored balls, scattered about. You must make matches of 3 (or more if you can but good luck there) by dragging a like colored ball to another one of its color to make a grouping of at 3 balls. For instance, there is a blue ball somewhere on the board. You have to drag 2 other blue balss to it to make a grouping of 3 to make them disappear.
Now, keep in mind please, that every time you stop, more balls appear on the game board. In most cases, hindering your progress so you have to match a whole different set of colored balls to get to your blue one, which may not even be significant to your goal anymore.
NOTES:
If you accidentally stop on your way to a ball with another ball, MORE balls will pop up on the game board.
There is NOT one goal in this game, but many. Some can be one per level, others may be several in a single level. All are about the balls.
Be watchful, because the board will be inundated with balls before you know it and there is not a move possible. Game over.
You can buy bonuses in the shop, but they are difficult (if not impossible) to use because you still have to accrue enough of a specific colored ball to use them. And how you can even use them is still beyond me after an hour of playing the game.
I would not recommend this game for anyone who has problems with holding and dragging using the mouse. I do, and therefore, this will not be a purchase for me. Wouldn't have been anyway because it just seems a bit too technical and strategic for me. But, hey, whatever floats your boat - lol.
Happy Gaming!

The story, while it does take a long time to tell, going 300 years back, is a little weak and definitely heard before ..... king falls prey to his kingdom being taken over and he heads out with his people for years and years, across deserts and mountains, through snow, etc. Then, they find their oasis.
This is not a customary "build-it" game. Here, you are given very specific instructions by the Emperor''s emissary (?) but at the same time, you have to keep your supplies of food, reeds, rushes for fires, full. So, in addition to "researching" and "building", you are going into the forest, caverns and lake to find food, etc.
It is not timed, that I could tell, but it is repetitive. Can get boring because you're going to the same places for basically the same things.
The way the game was described on the game page, I expected either a match 3 or a typical "build-it" game. So, while this was nice, it's not what I was looking for and so it is not a purchase for me.
I do, however, recommend it for anyone who would like to delve into this different type of "build-it" game.
Happy Gaming!

I really, really liked this game. From the start page to the exit there are stars and rainbows falling down all about you (yes, it does feel like it's happening to you) and making you smile. Along with the ambient music you can't go wrong with this game, except for....I'll get to that.
Game Play: If you play, or have played, those pipe connecting games - that's exactly what this game is all about, except the pipes are rainbow-colored. Connect the rainbow pipes before time runs out. That's it in a nutshell because that's all there is to the entire game. There are 6 clouds, each having "x" number of sub-levels. I don't know how many sub-levels there are because I quit after I got "game over" for about the 6th time. You'll understand more as you read on.
Likes:
The rainbows, stars and clouds, of course - smile.
Dislikes:
That there is no "relaxed, untimed' mode. There is no tutorial, just a one page "help" page. That there is no hint button to help newbies to this game. That when it's "game over" (as it was for me every time I got to level 1-3), you have to start at level 1-1 again and not the level you "died" on. No extra "lives".
Recommendations for game play:
Make a lot of really small (4 pieces minimum) connections rather than try to make a big one to be impressive or gain more points. Because there are more pipe/rainbow sections growing around you as you play and this can become dangerous to your game play as you go connecting and connecting and before you know it, time has run out.
NOTE: The beginning of your pipe sequence has to have a beginning and an end connection to whatever your building/connecting (so make a circle, square, squiggly pipe or whatever it turns out to be, but it has to connect to itself). I hope this makes sense because it's critical to your game play.
I want to say this game is "fairly easy" but it's really not. This is definitely a game of strategy and time management. It is timed, hence the "time management aspect. And the "strategy" part comes in the actual game play as I tried to describe above. And there's no time to stop and think about what you want to do, where you want your rainbow pipes to go - just get it done!
I would have LOVED this game if there had been a tutorial and, even more, a relaxed mode. For those reasons, and mostly the "no relaxed mode", this will not be a purchase for me. Makes me very say because it's a fun, smiley kind of game.
For those who play strategy games and time management games, I recommend this wholeheartedly. Others? Enter at your own risk - lol.
Happy Gaming!

If you play the "single solitaire" game mode, the game plays somewhat like a cross between mahjong and solitaire. There are double-sided dominoes on the game board but set in a layout like you find a mahjong game. At the bottom of the screen, you will see a solid stone on the left and a picture on the right. From the "dominoes" on the game board, make a match to the picture on the bottom of the screen (either side of the domino works because the game "flips" it when necessary - well, at least one side has to have a matching picture - duh). Then, the game is set and you just keep making matches. When you don't have a match, take a "stone" from the deck all the way to the left of the bottom of the screen and it will give you another picture to match. Keep doing that until you get one you can. Once the board is clear, game over. Ta-da!
There are bonuses. You will see, during game play, a sparkle on a domino. If you can use that domino before the sparkle goes away you will earn one of a variety of bonuses. The most useless for me was the additional points. I'm just not a points kind of gal.
So, of course, I had to see what the "double solitaire" mode was like because I AM a curious kind of gal. The game board is the same. Two-sided dominoes. But, at the bottom of the screen, there is a picture to the left of the stone AND to the right. You can match either side as noted in the description above. However, and this is a big however for older people like me, maybe those with arthritis, etc., you have to DRAG your domino to the appropriate side you want it to go to. This was a huge issue for me because I can no longer do the drag thing very well. This mode of play seemed to make the game go more quickly, but then, it could have been just because it was only 2 levels I played vs. the 7 of the other mode.
Besides the 2 modes of play, and the bonuses earned, there is a definite map you follow. Game mode 1 described way up above has 12 levels, containing 5 sub-levels each (you do the math - I was asleep that year). Game mode 2 (the other one) has 10 levels with 5 sub-levels each (I know this answer but still, you do the math - lol).
Aside from the intriguing twist on several types of games, I didn't find anything about it to engage me enough to want to purchase it. I will, however, recommend it for anyone who likes solitaire, mahjong and/or dominoes.
And for the reviewer who slammed the game because they couldn't figure out how to play it ..... there is a help section that explains it quite well.
Happy Gaming!

If anyone knows how to read these reviews, you will find what exactly my favorite game is. 'nuf said there.
I really only downloaded and played the free demo because it sounded intriguing and I was soooooooooooooo tired of the drivel that was coming out lately. Boy, was I surprised.
The storyline is about this young girl who finds herself in this amazingly beautiful fantasy work with no idea who she is or how she got there. She has to travel through this world to find the answers.
The game play is MAGNIFICENT. NO hand-holding. No hint button (which freaked me out at first). No strategy guide. A glphstone (probably misspelled) will give somewhat of a task list (find "x" number of 10 map pieces, etc.) so you DO know what to do and how to do it .... look around. I will admit, however, I did go to the walkthrough a few times in the beginning until I got the hang of the game. Once I did, it was full steam ahead!
You really only play in one area (or 2 but mostly 1) to accomplish what needs to be done. The mini games were enjoyable and yes, reviewer who mentioned it, repetitious because THAT'S what you were supposed to do however many times you were supposed to do it. Geez!
And for those reviewers who complained (whiney babies) about no hint button (SPOILED whiney babies), that's the point of the game ----- use your brain for a change!
I love this kind of game and after playing my favorite (seek and ye shall find, I really mean it), I never thought to find another game that would so intrigue me and grab my attention wholeheartedly.
I probably would have hit the "buy" button immediately if I hadn't gone back to read some of the reviews and found out the game looses luster as it goes along and is quite short and ends abruptly. That really disappointed me. I want a game that has some "meat" to it all the way through and builds up to a nail-biting crescendo of an ending that once you get there all you can do is take a deep, deep breath. I got the impression this game won't do that. Too bad.
I do recommend it for intermediate to experts, not beginners because if you're not familiar with this type of game play you'll probably be lost. Also, ONLY for those who WANT to think, play by the rules and not be whiny about all the things the game doesn't have. For those .....
Happy Gaming!
