I wasn't fully enamoured with this game. To me it just seemed to lack that something special. Still enjoyable, but will quickly blur out of memory. Graphics, cut-scenes, voice-overs were all excellent. It did occasionally lag on my computer but i assume will be fine on newer ones. I think the basic problem for me is that yet again the puzzles were too easy. The recent games just have no challenge at all to them. Great for thoughtless relaxing, but at least a slight challenge would be better than none. This game had a storyline that flowed well although not particularly captivating. It was a decent length. It had all the things necessary for a CE quality game. Bonus chapter was not essential to the main game, and was POV of another character - and frankly i thought rather boring and a waste of time. Would definitely recommend, but probably lean towards the SE version.

If you aren't expecting something the same calibre as a CE game, then I expect you will be pleasantly surprised with this one. For me, the main appeal was the storyline - something most games these days seem to fall short in. The only question is - will it be continued? I think they have left it open for that very possibility. Hidden object games and puzzles were very easy, and so was the general game play. The game flowed well and was a passable length. No real challenge, or exceptional art-work. But great for a relaxing simple game without the frills. Definitely recommend this game.

I have to say, i think this is my favourite of the Grimm Tales by a long shot. Eerily spooky, but not unnecessarily so. Superb graphics, great voice-overs, and terrific cut-scenes. You had bonus items to find and achievements to earn. To me, the game only fell short in a couple of places. Firstly there was no challenge to the puzzle games - all very easy. Secondly, the hidden object games were very basic, without much interaction. Also, some of them had very small items - especially the first game. But overall, still very easy and lacking in originality. The game ran true with all the others in the series, being a slight bit on the short side. But this game made up for it with a longer bonus chapter. The bonus chapter followed on from the main story, but wasn't essential to it. It all flowed well, and held interest although the plot was fairly predictable and lacking substance. I do have one big grizzle with the game, although not to do with the actual playing. There was some shocking grammar and poorly worded sentences. Something that should have been picked up before being released. And finally one last thing that did make me laugh.... you come across a bag that gives you your deepest wish. One would assume it would be to save every soul and get out of the house. Apparently not. You get a stick instead. Go figure.... Definitely recommend and definitely worth the CE label.

You are a detective of the light sent to prevent the Lord of Dark's resurrection. Stunning graphics, good voice-overs and lovely cut-scenes. Game played well, and story flowed smoothly. You had bonus items to collect and achievements to earn. Hidden object games varied between standard and fully interactive. The only complaint I have with this whole game is that the puzzles were far too easy. No challenge at all. Also a little too much hand holding throughout the game. Other than that the game had everything you expect in a CE. Bonus chapter was a good length and followed on from main story, but not really essential to it. Definitely recommend this game, and think it is definitely worthy of the CE title.

These dev's outshine all others, so to say this game was fairly average for them still puts it above almost all others. And it was fairly average..... Terrific graphics, cut-scenes, and voice-overs. Puzzles varied from very easy to medium. Hidden object scenes were marginally interactive and also easy. Strategy guide was easy to follow, and I did need it a couple of times to find out where to go to next. Story line was not particularly exciting. It seemed to me that it could have had so much more to it. There is an element of mystery, but just as you start wondering about it all is revealed unexpectedly and the game is at its end. Almost as if a few chapters were missing. Was also on the short side. Bonus chapter was a separate story and more of the same calibre - right down to ending just as it gets interesting. Made me wonder if it was going to be another game that they decided to cut short. Still, i definitely recommend this game, and definitely think it is a CE worthy of its name.
Over and over the same nightmare is following you: your sister Anna is trapped in a strange existence, begging you to help her escape. But what if these are not just random nightmares?

Something sort of the same, but also a little different... Good graphics, and sounds - but no voice-overs. I played on the hardest level, where there were no skips or hints. If you want a game with a bit of challenge, then I'd suggest this level. Some of the puzzles were unique, and varied in difficulty. Hidden object games were only slightly interactive. There were sparkles - even on the hardest level, which I do find irritating. Passable story line, and an okay length. I definitely recommend this game.

I love these games - have the whole set of them. Excellent graphics, voice-overs, and cut-scenes. They have better story lines than most games, and even better - you collect cards along the way that then tell you 'fairy-tale' stories. This one was akin to all the others. Fractured hidden object games, and puzzles that are a tad easy. The game was a passable length. The bonus chapter was more of a prequel sub-story, and like the other parable games was a little on the short side. Definitely recommend the CE version of this game.

I think, firstly, if your mouse doesn't have a magnifier button then this game may be a little difficult. Some of the items were very small, but unlike most games these days, the mouse magnifier worked perfectly. Also this game is a little glitchy. I had to skip one puzzle as it gave me 2 of the same item. But they will hopefully fix this in due course. Other than that - just brilliant! This would have to be the first game I've played in a very long time that has an actual story to go with it. The graphics, voice-overs, and cut-scenes were lovely. The hidden object games were easy and almost no interaction. Puzzles were easy and fairly standard. Probably the weakest part of the game. There were no achievements to earn, but there was bonus coins to collect - which you needed to unlock chests. A map for jumping scenes, which also showed you where tasks were still to perform. However, it didn't tell you only those with tasks ready, but those with any tasks to perform - great idea, as it stopped the hand-holding other games tend to do. The game went for a decent length, and (despite the glitches) ran smoothly. It was a slow paced game. Bonus chapter was more of the same and followed on but not essential to the main game. Best game I've played this year! Definitely recommend the CE version with this one.

Stunning graphics, voice-overs and cut-scenes. Just look past the cross-eyed characters. Hidden object games and puzzles were a tad on the easy side. Both traditional and reverse hidden object games. You had a map with which to jump scenes - something that was essential otherwise you would get well and truly lost. No bonus objects - although there is the grandfathers notes to collect, and no achievements to earn. Storyline was like most of these games - it existed but was weak and full of holes. I think the most striking part of this game was the imagination that must have gone into it. You have to collect seals from other worlds, each of which is unique and detailed. Bonus chapter was more of the same. However, if you like your stories to finish on a rounded note, then with this game the bonus chapter is an essential. Because of this, I recommend the CE version and consider it worth the extra.

This game had everything.... Bonus hidden objects, achievements to earn, outstanding graphics, voice-overs, and cut-scenes. But to me it just lacked whatever it is that makes a game captivating and special. I found the game relatively easy to play. Hidden object games very easy and only some with marginal interaction. Puzzles were also run of the mill and easy. Storyline was weak and not at all interesting. Game length was okay...just. Bonus chapter was in line with the main game, and followed on from it but not essential to the story. It was a tad short. Still, it was an enjoyable game to play, but would definitely recommend waiting for the SE version.
