The third (and final) installment in Nightmares of the Deep gets to the heart of Davey Jones and his past. This game had everything I'd expect in a CE - lovely graphics, cut-scenes, and voice-overs. Hidden object games and puzzles, whilst slightly easy, had variety to them. There were achievements to earn and bonus objects to find. The storyline and game flowed nicely, and whilst the story wasn't 'edge of your seat' captivating, it still held your interest. The bonus game followed on from the main, but wasn't essential to the storyline. It did however finish it off nicely. I would definitely recommend this game. and believe it is well worth the CE status.

Am really unsure what i think of this game. All the pros were also all the cons..... I loved the scary factor with the game, however the visual appearance wasn't so much spooky as it was dingy. It almost seemed to be incomplete. The puzzles were easy to understand, but the adventure tasks were vague and at times confusing. The story really held my interest with wanting to know what had happened, but at the same time made no sense at all and was choppy. The strategy guide was less on the strategy, and more on the guide - a very brief guide at that. The game was a decent length, and the bonus followed on from it. For those that go for the SE version, I cant help but wonder if their story will be incomplete as to me the bonus chapter seemed an intricate part of the main story. But as it ends with opening a door rather than closing, i can only assume it is to be continued. I would recommend this game - provided the devs iron out a few glitches - especially if you are after sombre, dark and spooky in a slow paced game. If you like clear stories, bright pictures, puppies and unicorns then bypass it. And my recommendation would very strongly lean towards the CE version.

I think perhaps after their last game 'silent hollow', they decided to go back to what works......Raincliff. And it does. Lovely graphics, voice-overs, and cut-scenes. Hidden object games were only slightly interactive, and were quite easy. Puzzles were mostly the usual variety and not very hard. But although they were both relatively easy, the adventure part of the game made up for challenge. There were bonus objects to find - missed one, Doh! Achievements to earn, which were the usual, although more emphasis on speed, except for one which was for a play over 10mins long. Seemed a bit of a contradiction to me. Storyline ran smoothly and was easy to understand. The game itself seemed shorter than the original Raincliff. Bonus chapter followed on from main story. More of the same. Whilst not essential to the story, still needed if you like your tales to finish on a high note. Definitely recommend the CE version of this game.

I played this game in the hardest mode, yet finished the game in less than 3 1/2 hours, and the bonus in less than an hour - both without using the hint button at all. Too short in my opinion. Whilst this was an enjoyable game to play, I think that the shortfalls were greater than the positives. The hidden object scenes and puzzles were very easy, with the hidden objects having very minimal interaction. A good ratio between the two though. There were bonus objects to collect and achievements to earn. However, the game did not register the ones i had earned in the trial, only those after purchasing the game. There were a few typos/grammatical errors. The game itself flowed relatively well. The mouse felt slightly jerky to move. The storyline was weak and uninteresting. The bonus chapter was not essential to the story of the game. It was mostly hidden object games. I would recommend this game, but suggest waiting for the SE.

This would be my favourite game of the year. Full of puzzles that are along the style of the original Fates game - puzzles that actually make you think. Excellent graphics, voice-overs and cut-scenes. Storyline was a bit stilted and confusing, but considering all the time traveling going on in the previous MCF games, this was fairly inevitable. Lots of extras in the game to collect. I did need the Strategy Guide a couple of times, and it was easy to use and follow. The game was a good length and ran smoothly. Bonus game followed on from the story but wasn't an essential part of it. Would definitely recommend this game, and would probably lean towards the CE version.

Would like to give this 4 1/2 stars. This game had everything i would expect with these devs - lovely graphics, voice-overs and cut-scenes. But it lacked that 'something special' that The Nutcracker had. Loosely based on the traditional story of Scrooge, so left little to the imagination and no edge of your seat thrills wondering what would happen next. Game was an okay length, and played smoothly. Bonus chapter was a separate story to the main game, and was also an okay length. Would definitely recommend this game, but probably lean more towards the SE version.

I don't think there is anything i can really add that hasn't already been said, so i'll keep it simple. This game was brilliant. Amazing graphics. Good variety of hidden object games. Puzzles were too easy - the only real downfall of the game. Good length, and an actual storyline. Highly recommend this game!

After reading the other reviews i had high hopes for this game. And it was a well done game, with stunning graphics and a fair story line. It also had all the extras that come with the CE versions. However it was simply too easy. Easy to the point of boring. I didn't use the hint button or the Strategy Guide the whole game. In fact I don't recall pausing to think at all throughout the game. My guess would be more suited to someone around 10 years of age - which is too young for the topic matter...mainly affairs of the heart. Which is a shame as it could have been a good game, but the easiness of it had my mind wandering to other things which resulted in losing interest. I do recommend this game as it was well done, however strongly suggest the SE version....
You've come to Mexico to explore a mysterious mansion. But this is no vacation. Your cousin is missing, and the house is crawling with bizarre and deadly creatures!

Would prefer to give this 4 1/2 stars. Great graphics, cut-scenes and voice-overs. From the game title i expected it to be gloomy and dark but it wasn't. Lovely bright coloured game. Hidden objects game varied, with some interaction, and puzzles were the standard and very easy. There were achievements to earn and bars of soap to collect. The soap is to wash the clothes of the raccoon who is your little helper throughout the game. A bit childish and pointless to the game. Storyline flowed well but was fairly predictable and not particularly interesting - shame really, as the base story had so much potential....that just didn't happen. Bonus chapter followed on but not essential to the story. More of the same calibre as main story - and have to say i wasn't very enamoured with it Definitely recommend this game, but would probably lean towards the SE version as game play was very easy so no Strategy Guide needed, and the bonuses weren't that great.

Stunning graphics, cut-scenes, and voice-overs. This game had all the essentials for a CE qualification. Achievements to earn and plenty of collectibles to gather. A couple of different varieties of hidden object games, and a few varieties of puzzle games - although all the puzzles were way too easy. Story flowed well and was a good length. Bonus chapter followed on from main game but wasn't essential to the story line. Was a bit on the short side. Definitely recommend this game, and would lean towards to CE version if not for the bonus chapter, then for the bonus collectibles.
