A hidden objects game where you need to solve how Houdini 'really' died. It has the regular mix of puzzles and hidden objects, that aren't particularly hard but still has an element of challenge to them [I didn't need the hint at all in the game, but did ocassionally sneak a look at the Strategy Guide]. But on top of that you also have to collect ravens and clover which means you need to pay attention to every scene.. The graphics are lovely. There are no voice-overs. The storyline is average - there is one there but it doesn't have you on the edge of your seat. The length of the game was okay - ir wasn't particularly long, but still gave you a few hours of fun. This is a Deluxe game, so it contains a Strategy Guide, but no Bonus Chapter. Definitely one of the better Hidden Object Games around.

A lot of hidden object games these days seem to be much on much the same with little variety, and this was one of them. The game itself was the third chapter in the Curse of the Opera series - with the first being one of my favourite games. Whilst it was enjoyable to play, it didn't offer the same level of interest as the first one. This may just be simply that we know the story line, so there is nothing to captivate us. The voice overs in the game were good, the graphics lovely, and the story line so-so. The puzzles and hidden object games offered a moderate level of challenge, with an easy to read strategy guide. The bonus chapter followed on from the main story without being an essential part of it - but unfortunately it was quite short.

Once again you need to save a child that is a distant kin. The graphics were well done, and the storyline flowed nicely, but there was absolutely nothing new in this game. The sort of game that you enjoy playing, but in a month's time you have totally forgotten about it. The bonus chapter followed on nicely from the main story but was not essential to the main plot. A pleasant game to play that keeps you interested throughout it, but not riveted.

The game starts off as most of these games seems to - finding a lost child who is distant kin. But then thiings get a little different. Your search takes you to the land of the fae. The main 'enemy' is a Shade, but is drawn in a way to appear spooky without actually being so. The hidden object games aren't the normal 'junkyard' piles, which is a pleasant change. The graphics are beautiful. The voice-over is clear and well done [although the main voice is a little irritating]. The only real complaint is that there was absolutely no challenge to the game. I did the whole game without a hint, or a peek at the SG. The bonus chapter - called an epilogue - is actually a prologue that fits in nicely with the story. The puzzles were a little more challenging than the main game. The game itself loadied quickly, without any 'trouble spots'. Overall, a lovely and pleasant game to play.

I really can't say why this game was so captivating. Playing it was a very long, slow and arduous journey, that would have been totally impossible without the walkthrough. Note that I sat 'journey' - because this is exactly what it felt like. It wasn't just a game, it was a whole experience. And one that left you somewhat bereft at the end, like you had lost a good friend. The graphics in the game were amazing. Syberia I may have got me hooked, but Syberia II was even better. A game you really need to play to fully appreciate the depth it involves. Not sure how much longer I can wait for Syberia III to be released.....
I recommend this game!

I've found the problem with a number of marble popper games is that the cursor and balls drag ocassionally throughout the game - and unfortunately this was one of them. Not a lot, just certain little patches. Like most other marble popper games, you need to fire coloured balls into a moving line of balls and remove groups of the same colour. The game only had a few different boards, and only 60 levels that were as a rule very easy - so also not a long game either. Still it was enjoyable to play, with a few levels giving a bit of a challenge to keep you interested.
I recommend this game!

A game where you have to shoot coloured balls into moving lines of balls, to eliminate sets of 3 or more of the same colour. Marble Popper games I find are much on much similar to each other, although some are slightly better than others. This is one of the better ones. The cursor and balls moved smoothly - no jerking or stalling. Picture quality was nice and clear. There were a decent number of levels to keep you busy for few hours at least.. Only real downside was there wasn't much challenge to the games. Only the last 3 games required more than one attempt to finish. Overall a fun game to play.

Firstly it was great to play a CE that didn't start off with crashing my car... This game had beautiful graphics, and whilst archaeology used to be a thrashed subject, we haven't had one for a while which made it a pleasant change. It was similar to your run of the mill hidden object games - with one slight difference. Baddies keep popping up that you have to shoot - which really kept you on your toes. The HOGs included tasks to complete to find an object, which I enjoyed. I think the only real complaint i have is that the puzzles could have been more challenging. The bonus chapter was a decent length, and the story followed on nicely from the main storyline.

I really wanted to give this game 4 1/2 stars - a great game, better than most, but not exceptional.
The graphics and voice-overs were very well done - some of the scenes were superbly drawn The puzzles and HOGs were relatively challenging - a few different ones from the 'standard', which was great. The game itself was a reasonable length, and the bonus game tied in neatly to the main game. I think the only real downfall was the storyline. The introduction to the story was interesting and captivating, but then getting into the chapters and it just sizzled out. There was no real "on the edge of your seat, waiting to see what happens next" feel to it. But overall, an above-average, challenging and fun game,

I really wanted to like this game, but it just didn't happen. Whilst the puzzles looked challenging and had the potential to be enjoyable, there were too many problems preventing this. The puzzles themselves were something of a variation to the old-fashioned 'block puzzles', but instead of getting them in a set place, you needed them in a set order. The problem I found was that the puzzle itself was too small and hard on the eyes, and there was very little difference between shades of colour ie. green and blue looked the same, likewise orange and yellow. So unless your nose was almost touching your screen you couldn't tell them apart. I gave up straining my eyes before my hour was even up.
