I honestly didn't think this game was up to the standard of other CE games. The graphics were okay - jumped from nice to sketchy to nice again. There were no voice overs. I don't recall the music so whilst not irritating, somewhat unmemorable. The hidden object games were very easy. The puzzle games were rediculously easy and lacked imagination. The storyline flowed nicely - although the idea of saving the boy during the time it took the mayor to make his speech was rather flawed. Unless it was a very very long speech. The game was slightly on the short side. The bonus chapter followed on from the main story nicely, but wasn't an essential part of the story. Unfortunately it was very short. Whilst recommending the game, I'm inclined to suggest going for the SE version.

The graphics in this game were amazing! Likewise the voice-overs were also well done. I think what I liked most about this game - besides the graphics - was that as you progressed you collected hidden 'sections' of each parable so that when all sections were collected you could read that particular parable in full ie how the Snow Queen came to be. I found this made the story so much more interesting as you actually knew what was going on. The hidden object scenes were pieces of an object you needed rather than just random objects. The puzzles were the only disappointment in the game as there was only a limited variety - i think only 3 different sorts through the whole game. The game was a decent length, and flowed nicely. The bonus chapter was more of an 'aside prequel' and wasn't essential to the game. In fact a rather thin thread linking the two. Unfortunately the Bonus Chapter was disappointingly short - something I've noticed with all the Dark Parable Games. Would rate this game 4 1/2 stars, but as I cant do that I've bumped it up to 5 stars due to the quality of the graphics.

A typical ERS game. Storyline flowed nicely and was easy to follow, but didn't have you wondering what would come next. Stunning graphics and good voice-overs. Hidden object and puzzles relatively easy, and offer nothing new, but still fun to do. Game was a decent length. Bonus chapter followed on from story - would probably say it was actually part of the story. More like a final chapter. The bonus story was way too short. I found this game to be more enjoyable and better done than the first one.

Firstly the graphics in this game were amazing - just beautiful. Some very talented people out there. The hidden object games and puzzles were a little too easy, and you had the added bonus of collecting postcards [although the relevance of these to the game i have no idea], which were also easy to find - even though i did miss one somewhere LOL. You also collected a small number of 'achievements' through the game. The voiceovers were good - no annoying voices. The music was unmemorable, but not irritating. The game was a little on the short side i thought. The bonus chapter, also a little on the short side, ran okay with the storyline, but wasn't a necessary part of it. The puzzles in the bonus chapter were slightly more challenging. The game itself didn't really offer anything more than other CE games, but for some reason it kept me interested right through to the end. Definitely one of the better ones around.

A hidden object adventure game done in 3D cartoon style of drawing. Slightly different from normal, and was enjoyable to play because of this, although only in short sessions as it becomes slightly monotonous.. Scenes could be viewed from left and right sides as well as face on, giving it the 3D effect. The hidden object scenes weren't in the normal style, but rather objects that needed to be collected as you travel on your 'journey'. Although there is a storyline - turn the princess back from a monster - you don't need to remember it or even know where you are up to. Whilst this makes it less captivating, it also means that you can play a scene, then leave it a week or two to play the next scene [each scene needs completing before exiting or you need to start from beginning of scene again]. If you are after a break from the 'usual', then I recommend giving it a go.
I recommend this game!

Magic Tea
A delightful color-matching marble-popper game set in a beautifully rendered 3D world.

A marble popper game where they have tried to make it appear 3D - but failed. It just comes acoss as being out of alignment. The game itself is bland and boring - drab colours and dull backgrounds. The cursor is overly sensitive, and 'throws' rarely end up where aimed. Not worth wasting time on.

A simple marble popper game where rather than having the balls moving in lines, they are attracted to a 'central magnet', so become a balloon shape in the centre of the playing area. The game itself was very easy to play. Almost no challenge whatsoever, but was still fun to play if you had "5 mins to kill" and wanted to do something that didn't involve much thought. I suspect the game itself was probably designed with the kiddies in mind, rather than adults.
I recommend this game!

A hidden object / adventure game where you have the 'ability' to travel in time. The storyline itself was moderately interesting, although it could have been clearer as to whether you were in past, present or future. There was a few 'time travel flaws' in the flow of the story. There was also almost as many 'cut scenes' as there was game play, which made the game feel quite slow. It was also not a long game - took me less than 3 hours on 'expert' without skipping puzzles or using hints. The graphics were simple but nice. There weren't a lot of scenes, so you knew exactly where you were all the time, but still enough varierty not to bore you. There was no voice-overs. The music was a little irritating, but volume could be adjusted. The puzzles and hidden object scenes were quite easy. Whilst the game could have been so much more than it was, and fell short of its potential, it was still enjoyable to play. I would rate this 3 1/2 stars.

One of the few games that i never bought the CE of, and glad of it now that i've played the SE. Firstly, this game had potential - but sadly fell short on too many aspects. The storyline made absolutely no sense whatsoever. You travelled between this world and the world of shadows via mirrors, which was an interesting concept. But you then needed to collect 'glyphs' to open doors [not heard of 'doorhandles'?] with the help of / to help spirits hiding from spirits, who as spirits caused their deaths..... utter confusion....and at the end when you've solved everything - you still don't know quite what it was you solved. The game itself was also quite short. The pictures were beautifully drawn but the colours were bland and wishy-washy. Would only recommend if someone was after a CE challenge, but wasn't interested in the why's and wherefore's.

The storyline was a little different to the norm which was great to see, but the actual game-play had nothing extra to offer from the standard run-of-the-mill hidden object games. The graphics were lovely, and voice-overs reasonable - though i suspect not suitable for older computers. The length was, whilst not 'long', still a decent length. The puzzles were relatively easy - I played the whole game without using the Hint button, although did sneak the odd look at the SG. The storyline existed but wasn't riveting, and quickly became predictable. I was unable to play the bonus chapter due to an 'access violation' error. Overall, a fun game, but nothing new in the offering.
